before we do that i want we just all pray right now father we feel your presence having moved in this morning we recognize it we acknowledge it father we want to put you in your rightful place of honor from the very start today god you're already doing something in somebody's heart [Music] your spirit will accomplish what others have not been able to [Music] so father help me to get out of your way this morning [Music] everything that you want to speak from your word speak it god but help me to get out of your way to finish the job that you were doing on somebody at this very moment god you're going to change somebody's life forever by the power of the holy ghost in the house of the most holy god we declare it right now in the name of jesus christ and everybody give him another handclap of praise as you say it several times in jesus name in jesus name [Music] thank you for worshiping with us you may find your way to your seat those of you at the front [Music] in jesus name i'm going to speak on this subject this morning it's still morning for about 22 minutes so it still counts everybody say good morning good morning for 22 more minutes still applies how many enjoyed first word here today amen i'll be honest with you after about five minutes it started sounding like it was a confessional for brother levi i started wanting to go back and think about the times i had twenty dollars missing from my wallet and didn't realize where it had gone and as i was thinking that i guess matt bertrand felt convicted up in the sound booth and he sent me twenty dollars on apple pay so i was like oh boy we have a kleptomaniac epidemic going on at pobc he was joking i sent it back i think he was joking our text today is going to pick up after the story of noah his wife his three sons and their wives had spent over a year on the ark together after 40 days and 40 nights of rain and flooding and everybody they ever knew being taken in those waters drowned and perished the water slowly rescinding and them watching as the mountain tops gradually fade into view and you see them breaking the surface of those waters and finally the earth as they looked out was dry the story picks up in genesis chapter 8 and verse 18. so noah went out and his sons and his wife and his son's wives with him every beast every creeping thing and every bird everything that moves on the earth went out by their families from the ark then noah built an altar to the lord and took of every clean animal and every clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar wouldn't you love to be that animal that made it through the entire flood and then was chosen the lord smelled the soothing aroma and the lord said to himself i will never again curse the ground on account of man for the intent of man's heart is evil from his youth and i will never again destroy every living thing as i have done in other words he said i know they're going to do it again i know that their heart something deeper than the core of it something's just not quite right but i'm not going to do what i did again and in verse 22 while the earth remains seedtime and harvest and cold and heat in summer and winter and day and night shall not cease everybody say it shall not cease imagine walking off of that ark if you're noah or one of the members of his family and outside of the seven other people that were with you on that trip if you want to call it that everybody that you ever knew was gone every tribe every settlement gone for good every childhood friend every teacher every neighbor gone every person that you had not met even were gone 57 million square miles of land on this earth and it belonged to eight people you would feel gratitude to be alive you would feel glad that you've made it through this flood but the uncertainty of what was to come would have been probably overwhelming considering the responsibility that they all had from that moment forward so god spoke to them and he reassured them look i know the heart of man but while the earth remains seedtime and harvest and cold and heat in summer and winter and day and night they shall not cease he set them all into a pattern and they have repeated that pattern time and time again as long as this earth remains it shall not cease the seasons were set in place the repeating patterns year after year they weren't exactly set in place the same way everywhere because in louisiana we really only have two and a half seasons really summer seems to last two seasons all in itself but in the ever-changing ever repeating seasons of our life it also has this pattern of repeating this over and over again you see the same things happen and even you might feel like you've got a a bad period of bad luck and then it comes out of that and you feel like you've got a period of good luck and you say i hope this continues forever and then suddenly about the time you think that you get a flat tire and then you get another flat tire you get another flat tire as i know happened to one of my friends here lately i think it was three flat tires within a week over and over again and say well i guess it's just my season we don't understand the seasons exactly but we know that they're there because we feel ourselves when we're in the midst of them in ecclesiastes 3 and 1 this often quoted passage to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven a time to be born and a time to die a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted a time to kill and a time to heal a time to break down and a time to build up a time to weep and a time to laugh a time to mourn in a time to dance we've all experienced these seasons within our life and you recognize them sometimes if you just pay attention to where you are in that moment you know what season that you're in the last year it felt like we were all in the same season together which is kind of a unique circumstance but you acknowledge it sometimes you realize where you are there were a few years ago probably six seven years ago or so i was preaching up in manitoba in canada and i was far enough north that i was a lot closer to the north pole than bossier city louisiana and it was about mid-may late may sometime in that time of the year and i was in my room and nobody warned me about all this and i don't know why i didn't think about it but i was looking out the window at about 11 o'clock and i was like it's it's still light outside and i looked out the window at 11 30 and i said i can still see just a glimmer of the sun over the horizon and only in about midnight did the sun finally go down in night happened but then i woke up again in the middle of the night three o'clock in the morning and the sun was returning and i thought we have a three hour night in manitoba and nobody thought to tell me about this and it was weird it was strange because if you've taken a nap during the middle of the day it's not dark then but for some reason you can go to sleep well at night in manitoba i could not go to sleep it messed up my sleep schedule the entire time that i was there because i didn't anticipate it it shook everything up and then i thought i want to get back to hot swampy louisiana back in the 100 degree weather where at least it's going to be dark for six hours per night at the very least and it changed everything it changed the way that i felt when i woke up i didn't feel rested everything felt a little bit different when the sun rises you expect it to set and when the sun sets you anticipate about the time that it's going to rise and when it takes longer to set than you expect it to it's weird if you visited right now the opposite is happening up there the nights are dragging on and on and on the sun is taking too long to rise it's freezing cold they told me that sometimes it's about 30 degrees below zero fahrenheit and i cannot fathom living in that especially with that darkness as it lasts so long throughout the day how depressing must it be to be trapped inside with a 30 degrees below zero weather and no light throughout most of the day it changes things it's off it and you're aware of it when it happens it's different recent days have left many of you feeling like the nights have lasted just a little bit too long in my lifetime i cannot remember a time when people have had so much to do to just encourage themselves during a long prolonged season in life people having to pump themselves up and tell themselves that it's going to be just a season it's something that they're going to get through it's a time of prolonged night i can't remember it i wasn't there for some of the events of the long and distant past but i remember 9 11 and i told somebody i don't even remember life changing as much after 9 11 as it changed after the beginning of 2020. i don't remember things changing quite so severely but especially in the conversations day to day with people everybody wanted to talk about it for a long time and then everybody just decided i'm done talking about this i'm done thinking about this i'm done reading the articles that depression is up anxiety is up medication is up all these things are up and they're tired of dealing with it it's this long prolonged season but i tell you today don't stop encouraging yourself don't stop speaking a word of encouragement to somebody else because whether you're aware of it or you're not aware of it the devil can never stop the sun from rising again somebody needs to say amen to that the devil cannot stop the sun from rising so you need to have your praise ready to go you might as well put a smile back on your face and give god the adoration that he deserves in the middle of the day that's the same as the middle of the night remember that we've got a job to do the devil cannot stop the sun from rising i was following an instagram account because i'm a nerd of a nasa astronaut who is currently up in the international space station his name is victor glover and he posted a series of pictures the other day and the first one you couldn't quite tell what it was at first glance that first picture was enough to make me stop and then i wondered oh i finally got it i realized that he's looking out from the window of the space station and it's this total darkness of space all around but there's just a glimmer of something in the horizon just a glimmer of something a sliver of light visible around the curvature of the earth below but a few moments later for him he took another picture and that other picture shed light on the circumstance and it intensified over and over there's no mistaking the sunrise and surely it never gets old being up there and seeing that sight every single morning it puts a different spin on the sunrise and how could you ever sleep through that but in the third picture i want to show you he posted something about it he said i took these photos today i love sunrises and sunsets can you see the bands of color they remind me of the scripture in psalm 30 weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning it seems dark is just before sunrise i wish you all love and light good night from the international space station up there alone with just a few people so distant from every person that you have ever known he still acknowledges in all of god's glory the devil will never stop the sun from rising there is a harvest that awaits over the horizon of this world there is a joy lurking beyond its borders there is healing for both your body and your spirit that god can change everything in an instant there's a sunrise that is going to light up every single home in this city there needs to be a baptism of joy that every person in this house experiences when they feel the presence of god as it moves into this house today people will say oh stop it stop it i can't get this unbuttoned i've always wanted to do this thank you landon landon almost took the suit to the face there needs to be a baptism of joy that the people of god just get drenched in i refuse to give the devil the credit that he does not deserve as long as you have a praise lurking somewhere beneath the surface of your raging waters of your heart the devil will never stop the sun from shining tomorrow you're going to wake up and his mercies are going to be made new every single day let the presence of god speak joy back into the heart of the people of god and let us be the prime example that the devil cannot stop the sun from shining i've heard it so many times if you've been saying this i don't blame you but stop it this is going wrong that's going wrong if you were in my shoes you'd only know then just how wrong it's going things are going to get worse if one more person says things are just gonna get worse it depends on what you mean by worse is the world gonna ramp up its attack absolutely is the presence of god going to fall like never before a thousand times over absolutely the devil will not stop the sun from shining psalms 130 and 5 says i wait for the lord my soul doth wait in his word do i hope my soul waiteth for the lord more than they that watch for the morning i say just in case you didn't hear it the first time i say more than they that watch for the morning let israel hope in the lord and for the lord there is mercy and with him is plenteous redemption other translations say it this way abundant redemption somebody needs to say it out loud abundant redemption there is something lurking just beyond the horizon and you say why is the night lasting this long just you wait when it peaks over the edge of the horizon and you feel the presence of god say why why why did you think that i wouldn't be here why did you not why did you doubt for even a moment that my presence my joy my love my peace that passes all understanding would not be here waiting for you when you open your eyes and say god let's do this all over again the night is gone the devil can never stop the sun from rising first thessalonians 5 verses 1 through 6 but concerning the times and the seasons brethren you have no need that i should write to you for you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the lord so comes as a thief on the night for when they say peace and safety then sudden destruction comes upon them as labor pains upon a pregnant woman and they shall not escape it reminded me i just i didn't think about this earlier but right now i remember if you've ever uh you and your spouse been pregnant together and there's something called braxton hicks are you familiar anybody familiar with braxton hits contractions i see some of you people that are that are recent parents you're waving your hands right there with you and you've got the go bag and you you think you have everything in the go bag but everybody's missing one item from the go bag and she says i think this is it i'm like oh and you find the go bag and you go to the hospital and you're in the hospital and they're like oh it's just braxton hicks and you're googling braxton hicks for the first time the second time you're like ah we knew it there's these labor pains and they say well this this must be it this must be it this must be it and this world is groaning and saying surely now surely this is a moment but god is saying just wait for one more moment there's still somebody that i need to reach with my presence and it could be that god has withheld his second coming because he's waiting for somebody in this place to say i accept that there's still a mourning over the horizon i'm not going to live in perpetual darkness but god has something that he's bringing in something that's just around the corner and he might be waiting for you the devil can never stop the sun from rising he doesn't have that power that authority but god can make the sun hang in the sky for three days and if he could reach you today he would withhold it for as long as possible but the devil can never stop the sun from rising but you brethren are not in darkness so that this day should overtake you as a thief you are all sons of light and sons of the day we are not of the night nor of darkness therefore let us not sleep as others do but let us watch and be sober and even when it's dark outside we are not of the night we are the sons and daughters of the light and the devil can never stop the sun from shining i just want somebody to do something i'm going to be eerily quiet for a moment just to make everybody feel as awkward as i always do god is waiting on somebody here to testify of the soon and coming morning where you feel the joy of the lord feel your presence again like you have not felt from the first time that you believed but he wants you to believe it and he not only wants you to believe it he wants you to proclaim it somebody if you would would you stand up and you'd say god is still good somebody who's been through it this year stand up and say out loud god is still good say the morning is coming believe it when you say it right now the morning is coming my god is still upon his throne the morning is just over the horizon somebody give god a praise that erupts from the bottom of your spirit right now that releases out of your voice out of your heart out of your worth everything that you can give right now somebody praise god loudly praise god from right here don't be ashamed of whatever you've thought the moments of weakness the doubts and the fears but say it again the morning is coming say standing with me i'm just going to give us a chance to pray you're like ryan never goes this short that is correct i lopped off three pages just for you because i love you there's a town in southeastern france i'm going to butcher the names of every person in town in this little portion so just bear with me called shamanics told you but in the city square there is a statue of two men jacques belmont pray church and horus de saussure that deserves a hand clap just so you [Music] know and the story of these two men is fairly simple i'm just going to call them jacques and horace because their last names are a doozy i don't have enough time to tell you the whole story but jacques was the very first one to ascend to the top of mont blanc the the mountain that is in southeastern france second largest mountain in europe he was the first to ascend to it and the reason he did it was because the other guy horus offered a cash prize excellent motivator and he said i'm gonna do it because horace had tried it several times and he always came up short couldn't do it couldn't do it but jacques on the other hand said i'm gonna do it and he goes up there he has some help from a guy whose accomplishments he really downplayed in his autobiography that's just the way that it works but he gets to the top and he comes back down and everybody realizes we thought this was impossible because now they have the statue and you've got jacques on the left and then you have horus on the right and a horse that is an impressive horse that wig especially but he's pointing up to something in that town square but if you just flip the image around you see what he's pointing to he's pointing to the top of that summit and he's telling the man that failed over and over again you thought that it could not be done but right there right there is where i ascended to the top and i looked it out every which way and i could see everything in the surrounding area right there is the mountain that you are going to climb to and within that year he got back on the mountain and he started climbing and he made his way to the summit not the only time he climbed that mountain over and over again some of you just need somebody to tell you this morning this morning this that summit that you have been climbing you feel like it can't be done but i'm telling you by the grace of god there is a power that he wants to fill you with that there is no mountain that you can not only climb but you can say be cast into the sea in the name of jesus christ god wants to feel somebody again with the holy ghost here today if you've never received the baptism of the holy ghost evidence by speaking in tongues we do it because it's in the word of god and when they ask what do we need to do he said repent be baptized in the name of jesus we can do it right now five minutes got a robe and everything and you can be filled with the gift of the holy ghost but some of you can i just get a little bit rowdy for a moment don't take offense right now there are some long time apostolics that take the holy ghost for granted and you can speak in tongues and everybody says oh that's easy for them that's the problem maybe it's a little too easy sometimes you say well that doesn't make sense at all yes it does because some of you are nodding at me somebody needs to dig a little bit deeper and draw a little bit further down from the will and find something that you have not encountered for a little while because truth be told you needed to be reminded today that there is a morning that is coming the sun is about to rise over the horizon you needed to know that god is still in control somebody rushed to the front if you need to proclaim the victory in your life right now you're tired of me saying you're tired of negative you're tired of worry and you have no place for doubt then come to the front don't look at me any longer raise your hands to the heavens and start to say god i know there's a morning coming but god let me believe the way that you want me to believe somebody begin to pray and cry out to god and if you need the holy ghost today just grab somebody and say please hey pray for me i need the spirit of god in my life i need to feel his presence what this guy up here is talking about i need to feel that today somebody just raise your hands look just raise your hands raise your hands all across this house start to pray with a new death right now if you have to dig a little bit it's worth the effort it's worth the ticking it's worth pushing just a little bit to say god i've become complacent and i have become doubtful but there is no room when the holy ghost comes there's no room for doubt there's no room for worry there is no room for pessimism when god said i've already won this fight somebody pray lift up your voice lift up your voice right now let your voice get swallowed up in the choir prayers out here today [Music] all right y'all tempted me y'all know what i'm gonna do this is not a new move don't feel convicted if i say this okay i'm just telling you i didn't say clap i didn't say get into the routine of the song that you've heard before i said cry out to god and you say don't tell me no no listen to me right now somebody needs you to cry out to god so that whatever resonates in your spirit they feel your connection with god right now but it takes some digging some of y'all just hold on [Music] do we not know how much our world needs us to believe this do we not know how much the world that is crying out for any kind of an answer needs this that we have that we all too often take for granted somebody please i'm begging you if i have to get down on my knees and say i'm begging you cry out to god and say father fill me anew fill me with a way that you first had me believe god what happened on that day god fill me with that same presence somebody cry out to god right now somebody cry out to god right now don't fall back into a routine right now god wants to reach the money's hard god you're softening the ground for what you're going to do god do it god speak right now [Music] some of you might have forgotten how to dig it's just as simple lift up your face to the heavens shut your eyes and lift up your voice now and if you can only say his name that's all you gotta do somebody say that name out loud jesus jesus i need you somebody lift up your voice in this moment right now god do it [Applause] ah [Applause] [Music] foreign [Music] foreign need you god god i need you like i've never needed you before i don't know god i don't know what to do with this world i know you've got the answers to speak to somebody please please god give me the words i don't have the words she's got to give me the words foreign [Music] [Music] foreign spirit of infirmity we rebuke you in the name of jesus spirit of depression and fear we rebuke you in the name of jesus spirit of doubt and deception we rebuke you in the name of jesus christ now god fill that void [Applause] with peace with joy with trust with power with boldness god somebody turn your heart down let joy begin to feel back in your spirit right now somebody put a smile back on your face let god speak to your heart let god feel you back up with optimism enjoy and peace and security that comes only through the child of god somebody lift up the name of jesus right now the musicians are gonna start playing now but now we're not taking it for granted let joy begin to fill this house god i pray that you would put a smile back on the face of every saint so that the world knows they've been touched by the almighty they've been filled with the joy of the holy ghost somebody lift up your voice don't stop just yet you need to say god give me my joy back take it back right happens [Music] this is the way that you can tell complacency has hit a church and if you don't know it and you're saying oh how dare you call us complacent no we're one of the most blessed and blessing churches on the face of the earth god has been good to us and we have people filled with the presence of god all over this place your life is a testimony to the goodness of god i believe that i'm not saying we're complacent i'm saying we better guard against it with everything that we have and here's how you can tell if the praises feel a little too easy the reason i made everybody stop clapping a second ago because it was very easy to clap and sometimes all you need to do is shake up your commonplace praise just a little you can raise your hands but watch just raise your hands with me across this house watch this let me show you something [Music] raise your hands now do this don't you feel silly already but sometimes god just wants you to shake things up a little bit so that you don't fall into the comfortable and god if i've got to alter my praise i'm going to alter it today if i have to shout a little louder i'm going to shout a little louder if i have to wave my hands i'll wave my hands if i have to jump maybe that feels too commonplace if i've got to turn whatever i have to do i don't want to settle in my praise to god so we're singing now y'all go ahead we're
