GODZILLA x KONG: The New Empire Breakdown! - Ending Explained + MonsterVerse EASTER EGGS You Missed!

is that a mini Kong hey welcome back to screen Crush I'm Ryan AR and this is all the Easter eggs references and little things you might have missed in Godzilla X Kong the new Empire now the monsterverse now spans over 10 years and this is the sixth Live Action project and guys I'll be honest this is one of our favorites so far it was so much fun and loaded with so many Easter eggs from past movies and if you need a little refresher on the monster verse history and timeline be sure to check out our recap and now let's get into it we open on Hollow where we see a pack of new Titans using the Godzilla X Kong action figures we identifi these as wart dogs and they might be related to Annie's dog from the Skull Island animated series Kong defeats them by setting a trap now this is important because it shows that he is not as dominant in Hollow Earth as he was on Skull Island on Skull Island Kong was the apex predator the whole reason Kong and Godzilla fought was because there can't be two alpha Titans the only thing that even came close to hurting Kong on Skull Island was this giant squid in the skull crawlers after he was Gravely injured he was basically Untouchable but in Hollow Earth he's more vulnerable he might be the king but he doesn't Tower over every species anymore he has to be smarter now then when he catches a wart dog he rips it in half and bathes in the blood which was awesome by the way and look its blood is green most titans either feed off radiation or are radiation resistant so it's possible that the blood is green because it's radioactive now it could also be a reference from from Dust Till Dawn by Quinton Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez in that movie Tarantino used green blood because I knew there would be vampire blood all over the place and it would be the color red in particular that would get you an nc7 yeah an nc7 and I will say this is the most brutal monsterverse film yet it would make sense if they would fend off an our rating with some green blood as he's eating his wart dog dinner we see a crocodil sized Titan who reminded me of the lizard titan finally coined titanis Doug on Twitter hey that's me yep and you're just a scary buddy high five then we cut to Dr eileene Andrews now a quick rundown on her she was the lead scientist on SK Island she also supervised Kong's transportation from Skull Island into Hollow Earth and revived him after he lost his fight with Godzilla the last time we saw her she was overseeing the new monarch observation point in Hollow Earth she says that Earth and Hollow Earth are linked it isn't just one planet on top of another they're constantly affecting one another now we actually first saw this in Monarch Legacy of monsters in that show they discover a new part of Hollow Earth called the axis Mundy they even say different pieces of Home different pieces of their world all put together like a patch Quil she also mentions that Kong and Godzilla exist in harmony because they have two different territories which is the agreement they came to at the end of Godzilla versus Kong this land is your land and this land is my land and then another Titan emerges in Italy this is Skyla who we saw in king of the monsters and in the graphic novels Godzilla dominion and Godzilla X Kong the hunted in fact in the hunted we actually see the leadup to this fight Skyla is attacking nuclear power plants in the hopes of absorbing enough radiation so that she can challenge Godzilla the novel even ends with Skyla and Godzilla charging at each other in Rome pres why are there so many Titans fighting didn't Godzilla only emerged like like 10 years ago actually this movie takes place in 2029 so it's been 15 years since the events of the first Godzilla and there's been so many emergences in that time because of global warming in king of the monsters we find out that Titans are part of the Earth's natural defense system so as the Earth continues to heat because of man-made climate change more and more Titans are Unleashed we are the infection but like all living organisms the Earth Unleashed a fever to fight this infection the Titans Now Godzilla is the apex predator on Earth so he's always fighting other Titans and putting them back into dormy but each time they emerge in fight they pretty much destroy a city in the process but that's not realistic governments would never let global warming continue if it was causing disasters anyways we cut to Hollow Earth and Monarch Outpost one which I think is is the same monitoring point the Monarch built at the end of Godzilla versus K it's next to a little river and everything they also pick up electric interference and Titans are known to throw off Electronics we cut to the new monarch base in Barbados where Dr Andrews lives with her adopted daughter Gia so Gia is the last Living member of the E tribe that we first saw in Kong Skull Island the E were people who lived on the island and actually worshiped Kong as a God because he kept the skull crawlers from attacking them for years a giant storm system surrounded Skull Island and prevented anyone from getting in the island was the eye of the storm it was always very calm so both Kong and the E people lived in peace but when King gadora emerged he brought a hurricane with him one of his storms merged with the storm surrounding Skull Island and pushed the storm onto land it destroyed Kong's habitat and killed all of the E people Gia had a vision about Hollow Earth at the same time that Monarch receives reports of more electronic interference the scratching of her pencil even sounds exactly like the electronic meter right the she have superpowers kind of everything on Skull Island was affected by its connection to Hollow Earth including the E people these people live up on the top of the trees while we're down in The Roots some of them don't even seem to age Dr Andrews goes to Florida to meet with Bernie one of the heroes from the last movie and as a reminder Pensacola Florida was the site of the first Godzilla attack in Godzilla versus Kong Bernie's still podcasting but his platform is much bigger in the last movie he was recording on a microphone in his car but now he has a full recording setup he also has a sponsor called Gargantua Titan Insurance now this isn't the first time we've seen corporations try to cash in on all the Titans in Monarch this taxi driver says mosa prep big business now and we even see an ad for a bunker here Bernie's also wearing a ton of pens and patches so let's go through them real quick on the back of his jacket there's a giant patch with pyramids it's a reference to the Illuminati but also foreshadows the quartz pyramids in Hollow Earth and the real pyramids that Godzilla and Kong destroy later in the movie he has a no GMOs pin which matches his food and water preferences in Godzilla versus Kong tap or no tap no tap he also has an alien pen a moth man pen and even a Bigfoot pen and guess what Bigfoot was kind of confirmed in Arch is that Bigfoot Bernie's upset that Monarch won't give him credit for his help during Godzilla versus conch and I've got to be real this is very on brand for Monarch the founders of the organization aren't even well known because they were swept under the rug I don't see any Randa up here I thought we were Monarch royalty well your family has kind of a complicated Legacy here Bernie agrees to help Dr Andrews if she'll take him to Hollow Earth so he can document it and prove the naysayer is wrong he even mentions that he has a troll named gdor Stan 89 which is ironic because gadora is the villain of king of the monsters of course that's the guy who's always going to be trolling you and then they get a Titan alert which was actually in beta during Monarch when the alert goes off Gia grabs her Kong doll which was her peace symbol to him in the last movie now in a big development from the last movie Kong trusts humans a little bit more now he even lets them sedate him to help his tooth in Godzilla versus Kong he was more combative but since they found him a new home they've earned more trust Dr Andrew says the government is trying to take over their operation in Hollow Earth now this has always been a problem for Monarch even back in the 1950s the military was trying to take over uh what's going on in the Navy we call it a change of command and in king of the monsters the movie opens with Monarch on trial but we still haven't heard one good reason why monarchs shouldn't fall under military jurisdiction they go into Hollow Earth and these new and improved haav similar to the ones that Apex used I also love that even in these expensive heaves they still deal with all the pressure and light Distortion the Monarch dealt with back in the 1960s on the surface Godzilla attacks a nuclear power plant now this is actually a call back to the first Godzilla when the mudo attacked a power plant to absorb its energy wait so is the whole area just totally radioactive now actually no since the Titans eat the radiation this keeps the radiation levels in the area very low however the Titans themselves are radioactive so their Footprints are still very radioactive we even see that in the original 1954 Godzilla when Kong goes to investigate this new area of Hollow Earth he brings his trusty axe So Kong made this in Godzilla versus conch and the blade is actually made from the spine Spike of Godzilla's ancestor that also explains why glows blue when Kong jumps into the new Cavern it's reacting with the atomic particles in the quartz and then Kong comes across a baby ape suko and of course this little adorable baby immediately bites the out of Kong Kong's also attacked by the adult apes and notice they're using bone weapons now this is actually similar to monkeys making tools in the wild meanwhile the Monarch crew is tracking down the electromagnetic pulses and then their escort M gets eaten by an animal that looks like a tree now I think this is actually a spor mantis we first saw a spor mantis in call Skull Island where it disguised itself as a log in that movie it was in a bamboo forest so it was very light in color but just like animals on Earth are different colors based on their surroundings I think this spor mantis is just darker so it can camouflage In the Jungle the crew keeps exploring and they find ewee ruins Skull Island was a waypoint to Hollow Earth it's how Kong species ended up on the island in the first place so it makes sense that the ewe people were actually from Hollow Earth and found their way up through the same portal but we also saw the ruins of another ancient civilization in king of the monsters so I wonder if later will find out that they were an e tribe too Gia realizes that the ruins are a temple for Mathra but we already saw Mathra on the surface it was very sad she di well Mathra never really dies well she sort of does it's confusing basically mra's existence continues through her Offspring according to king of the monsters director Mike Dy when Mathra dies her memories are passed down genetically to her Offspring so in a sense the larvae that hatches from the next egg will become the Mathra rather than a new version and it makes complete sense that the E people of Hollow Earth worshiped mothur because the ewi tribe on Skull Island worshiped Kong also Bernie using a Polaroid camera felt like a call back to Mason the photographer on the Skull Island Expedition the ewe tribe emerges and surrounds them the same way the E people trap the Kong Skull Island crew on Earth after Godzilla Gorges himself on radiation from a nuclear power plant he attacks tiamut wait the celestial in the ocean that nobody can let go of not quite buddy in the monsterverse tiamut is another Titan we first met her in the graphic novel Godzilla Dominion when she attacked Godzilla so it's safe to say that these two have some long-standing beef so he kills her and absorbs her radiation to become Barbie Godzilla Come on Barbie let's go party meanwhile in Hollow Earth Gia says that she can feel their thoughts now remember all the way back in Kong Skull Island when Hank said this oh they don't speak too much I'm so glad they finally paid that off they didn't speak because they were always speaking telepathically everyone else thought they were selectively mute but in reality they had their own language that no one else could understand been here as long as I have you start to understand Dr Andrews points out all the the unmapped vortexes on the surface just like the ones that we saw in Monarch I wonder if these follow the same map from that show so the E sent out a beacon asking for help using electromagnetic pulses which is very similar to what Dr Koo did in Monarch I reconfigured the EM tube to send out a directional gamate P to that you know where I was the ewe tells Gia about the history of Hollow Earth and how war broke out between the great apes and the Titans now we've seen part of this history before at the end of king of the monsters there's hieroglyphics depicting Apes versus Godzilla we knew their rivalry went really far back but we never knew how it started it's actually a bit sad because Kong's ancestors and Godzilla's ancestors probably weren't fighting originally but more on that in just a second souu leads Kong to his tribe and they cross over this massive mudos skeleton I mean Kong is smaller than its head I have no idea what kind of Titan this is but I hope we get to see a live version of it someday because this thing would be gigantic it would easily dwarf King gadora finally we see this second tribe of Apes now they are in a sad situation and also not interested in being friends with Kong but shouldn't they all get along I me they're all the same not so fast now we've got to talk about the differences between gorillas and chimps So Kong is based on gorillas he looks like a gorilla and he also beats his chest like a gorilla now gorillas can be violent but they aren't known to be very aggressive unless provoked that's how Kong acts he doesn't start fights but he's going to finish them scar King and his tribe however are based on chimps and chimps are menaces they are very aggressive and violent even when unprovoked within the ape species chimpanzees have the most intras species violence and they even coordinate attacks yes chimps are lit l ly animal soldiers and remember how the E leader said that just one great ape LED his tribe against the surface well if scar King's tribe is also chimps and the gorillas probably never went to war with Godzilla Godzilla and Kong's rivalry is based on a fight that they never had and then finally we see scar King and notice how his eyes are blue now I wonder if that's an effect of the radiation he endured during his fight with Godzilla also I love how they gave scar King this artillery band of Bones to look cool but then they actually made it useful he uses it as his whip to control sheima Kong and Scar King fight and of course Kong wins now this makes total sense because in real life gorillas are way bigger than chimps and in a 1 V one chimps don't stand a chance but then scar King brings out shimu shimu is a brand new Titan created by legendary I love her design and the power so much and I think she's based on Japanese mythology she's covered in quartz and in Japanese mythology quartz was created by the breath of a white dragon she doesn't really look like a dragon though well maybe not like a Game of Thrones dragon but she's built exactly like a bearded dragon plus I bet her breath turns into chords when it unfreezes which would explain why there is so much quartz in this area of Hollow Earth also I don't care that she's a giant monster it hurt my heart to see scaring controlling her how did he control her well all that quartz she has in her that's the same quartz the E people were using as an electrical conductor and it matches the courts blade at the end of Scar King's whip my guess is that when Scar King points his blade at her it acts as a conductor and shocks her back at the E tribe Trapper tries to convince Bernie to not post the E on the internet because they won't survive contact with the outside world and he's kind of right because the e on Skull Island were destroyed because of humans remember King gadora didn't emerge naturally a group of eot terrorists woke him up and on top of that what brought this storm to Skull Island was Monarch opening a Vortex to Hollow Earth the E tribe of Skull Island would still be alive if it wasn't for humans messing with the monsters Kong goes to Trapper for some Titan vet work and then goes to the surface to get Godzilla he emerges in Cairo which is also the location of another Titan seet also Godzilla hears Kong's Roar all the way from jalter for reference that's a 9-hour flight Kong tries to explain but of course it's not a Godzilla Kong movie without at least one oldfashioned fight they did a great job with this fight we know that Godzilla is stronger than Kong from their fight in Godzilla versus Kong but it was nice to see Kong Land a few good punches with this new Iron Man arm also I laughed really hard when he threw sand in Godzilla's face like he was a giant toddler fck sand meanwhile Gia unleashes Moor who immediately puts a stop to all that Tom fery boys what are you doing the ewee used their electromagnetic science to turn off gravity and then we get this awesome zero gravity fight between these four Titans I loved how Godzilla literally let him ride on his back into battle it's a great way to show how they're working together instead of fighting remember in Godzilla versus Kong Kong jumps on his back to strangle him and it's ultimately how Godzilla won so they're both trusting each other here Godzilla is trusting Kong to not choke him and Kong is trusting Godzilla to not body slam him I also like the little detail that Godzilla can withstand shimu ice breath better than Kong think about it Godzilla is swimming through freezing water all the time he has some cold resistance the gravity turns back on and they all fall through this portal so the new portal leads them to Ria which you guess it is the resting spot of another Titan Behemoth who we briefly saw in king of the monsters resides in Brazil my guess is that every single one of the known Titans is very near a hollow Earth portal it was also great to finally get a sense of scale for scar King like I love Hollow Earth because it looks cool but it makes it difficult to see how big these Titans actually are when I first saw him on the beach I was shocked by how large he was also notice this wave that she freezes as they emerge this would have been a tsunami like the tsunami that Godzilla caused in Hawaii all the way back in 2014 so she kind of did them a favor by freezing the water I understand how she freezed the water but how did she freeze the sky well I think that her ice breath reached all the way up to the atmosphere she literally created her own snowstorm now this final fight is so much fun and Godzilla versus Kong they were using their strengths against each other and even in the final Mecha Godzilla fight they didn't combine their powers but here they fight as one like I love how Kong throws scar King to Godzilla and then he tail slams back I also thought it was a great choice for shimu to ultimately kill scar King not just because neither Kong nor Godzilla usurped each other but because after watching that poor Titan get abused I really wanted to see her get a revenge and I'm not going to lie I found the ending heartwarming I was too happy to see Kong finally get a family and Godzilla going to bed in the Coliseum I mean he's basically a giant cat corporate needs you to find the differences between this picture and this picture they're the same picture now there wasn't an after credit scene but we did hear souu yell at the very end of the credits they haven't confirmed any future monsterverse projects yet but my guess says we can expect one focused on souu so guys
