is the close of 2020 and we are so excited tonight as we celebrate what god has done i'm excited today because i am here with our online pastor uh pastor k.d she is here we call it pastor katie it's keshia dixon can you make her feel welcome wherever you are in social media world she is our online pastor and we are so delighted and excited to have her here now before we go any further uh we just always want to call flesh out when it's activated and i want the camera to grab a hold of these fly flesh-filled shoes that pastor katie has on tonight she did not come to play games i want to make notice she did not come to play games tonight are y'all with me she's walking easy pastor katie how are you how are you flesh shoes evening and did you just call the shoes out so i want to explain my shoes please to the audience who have just been given the wrong information about me these shoes are my tribute to the online campus see i bought the shoes and i'm thinking hmm how can i honor the online campus i decided the shoes would be the best way if you look carefully there are flags of many nations on my shoes so this ladies and gentlemen was not flesh i was really in the spirit on the lord's day hallelujah when i saw the shoes and i bought them to honor our online campus members as a matter of fact one of our first international members was from the nation of brazil and so brazil's flag is represented on my shoes so let let's not go there it is way too early in the pre-show happy early new year everybody and i'm really glad and honored to be here so if you're in that chat right be here um 2020 has had its uh moments and pastor we can just you know the fact that we're here tonight is really a indication that god has been kind to us and so we just want to thank god and celebrate him um hundreds of thousands of people have transitioned and for whatever reason god has been gracious to us yeah for whatever reason right and we're and we're really grateful um i promise i didn't do anything right right right right right right we didn't you know we we came into 2020 with all this excitement of what god was going to show us in the year of 2020 vision and man god said i have another plan and i'm going to shut down the whole world and i'm going to try my best to get your attention i'm just hoping that people heard his voice and acquired this self and made the moves and the adjustments that needed to be made and you know i'm i'm my background is education so i so i i like to say it like this 2020 was a lesson for us but honey if you do not get the lessons in the class we do not want to repeat okay so i really pray that everybody got the lesson i said the other day 2020 told us to get somewhere and sit down right so i hope that we listen to mama 2020 when she said get somewhere and sit down reflect change course turn pivot yeah yeah yeah do something different do it another way i hope we listen i believe we did i know we did hear first baptist church of glen arden that's why i am here right right right right right right right right we want to honor the lord for our pastor tonight um we thank god for pastor jenkins and pastor trina and all the elders of the ministry staff and all of our members wherever you are if you are watching us tonight god is about to speak a tremendous word from our senior pastor for you that will encourage you that will help you that will strengthen you so get ready for the tonight well you know we we're ready to celebrate yeah listen you got your celebration hat on so so if we're gonna talk about flesh uh you don't think i forgot dr hurd can you all uh team please give us a shot of the blessed anointed brim the chapeau if you will to be ready to party and celebrate it's new year's eve i ain't playing games 2020. i'm not playing games in 2020. i came to have a ball and have a party so that's why i'm here i had to put it together the head the hat is blessing the house the whole house is blessed because of that listen we came to help the people you know you got to help the people and while you're helping the people you also can give the people what they want absolutely and the people want [Laughter] that's all i have to say about that that's so good that's so good if you're gonna talk about my shoes i'm gonna throw in the hat those shoes are annoying but the hat is blessed well god does kind things for us [Laughter] so i cannot as we move forward to um uh 2021 yes you know a lot of people always make these new year's declarations and these new years uh decrees of what's going to happen um but what just what if you know where we've been in 2020 our previews of common attractions you know what if what if god is still working this thing out in us you know are we ready to allow him to work it out are we still rebuking the devil and oh you know all that stuff um i think that you know the scripture says uh in second corinthians that you know these afflictions are just for a moment you know they're not designed to kill us or destroy us they're just for a moment light affliction a light affliction so i think that god is trying to teach us something and i hope that as we move across the the into the next year yeah that we actually learn what he's saying and uh let him do the work just let him do it yeah you know so what you're really saying is that in addition to being a blessed hat that is a a hat with a word so that's a prophetic hat because the man just just told us something but i i digress but to what you said it's so true and i um i gave some i do this show on in the facebook group in our official facebook group for the first baptist church of glen arden on mondays and on mondays we talked about new year's resolutions and the first tip i gave to the people was when you're setting your resolutions why don't you get god's list right because that's how we missed it this year right you know because what we really do is we take god our list and just well god will you just sign right right right and we did that foolishness in 2020 and then lyden said god signed off on our little list and then he blew up your list right around march 15 right and so this year as we're talking about new year's resolutions get god's list get his list that's that's how we know that what we plan will happen absolutely absolutely so that's a really good point because we did we shouted and we hadn't we had our list in 2020. i'm gonna do this this this this and this and god said okay well i'm going to do this right and it wipes everything else out right as we talk about 2020 um pastor dixon can you talk about the online campus um what's happening in the in the life of this new part of our ministry man so let me tell you the most exciting thing about the online campus is we're getting to build it so that's the the most fabulous thing ever and so we're talking about um this platform and you really have to see it to really get it i don't think the people really get it until they see it but this platform we're changing the game so i would venture to say that the online campus is the red hat for fbcg we did not come to play so our red hat is going to feature ways that people can communicate with one another create community virtually we didn't even know that kind of stuff was possible but people will be able to take classes at their own pace pull down lessons and things that they want to take join ministries all while being connected with others and community and so what we're hoping will happen with that is while they're connecting with one another in community online then they'll take those connections into their communities and then and that's how you that's how you grow that thing so we're really excited about the online campus and people have joined people are joining that's what's up i'm not talking about 20 or 30 people around here right so the people are excited and we are we're phasing it in so this month in january you'll see something else and then in february we tease the people a little bit right but we're really excited about the campus we're excited about virtual baptism i don't even want to get started because the people are like what virtual baptism we're getting ready to do the thing so we're putting on our red hat it brings a whole different thing to go ye and all the world you know what i mean god his soul his wisdom is just so so incredible um and i'm excited we're so glad to have you here being a part of our family um as we move into 2021 of course we're getting ready for new year's revival yeah um new year's revival 2021 and we're excited because we have with us uh uh bishop jakes of course is coming yeah again priscilla shire is preaching with us again uh kirk franklin is coming on our young adult night yes and he's coming to preach yes ma'am you know you you used to hearing them but he he has a word right he's coming to bring a word for us i'm excited about that that's going to be great and of course we have the incredible the incomparable clark sisters are coming yes and our own anthony brown and group therapy they're going to be sharing with us this is going to be a we can say goodbye to some stuff too hey i'm not going to bring some of this stuff over into 2021 so we can be excited about that and be excited about what god is doing um so i want to know if there a new season of life amen as we begin take a moment and go over to the chat and just type in where you're worshiping at we what location you are because we honor you could be worshipping anywhere else but you chose to worship with the first baptist church of the garden and we are honored that you're doing so and while you're doing that why don't you type in how god has blessed you through 2020. you know we've had an exceptional year this year things have gone wrong from the pandemic at the top of our scales to people who've transitioned in our family and our friends jobs have been lost but through it all god has brought us through so let us acknowledge god and all that he has done to bring us to this point amen and before we really get started send this link to a friend or family member and i'll be reading from the 43rd chapter verses 1 through 5. [Music] the book of isaiah in the old testament chapter 43 and i'll be reading verses one through five and the word of god reads but now thus says the lord who created you o jacob and who formed you o israel fear not for i have redeemed you i have called you by your name you are mine when you pass through the waters i will be with you and through the rivers they shall not overflow you when you walk through the fire you shall not be burned nor shall the flames scorch you for i am your lord your god the holy one of israel your savior i gave egypt for your ransom ethiopian siba for your place since you were precious in my sight you have been honored and i have loved you therefore i will give men for you and people for your life fear not for i am with you i will bring your descendants from the east and gather you from the west bless is the powerful name of the word of the lord let us pray gracious father we thank you lord god for you are jehovah jireh our provider jehovah nisi our banner of victory jehovah rapha our healer jehovah's sith canoe our righteous one jehovah mechadesh the one who's holy and jehovah rojavi shepard and the overseer of our souls god you are all that we need we thank you father that through this time through this season you have blessed us insurmountably and brought us from so many perils to this point where we can cross into another day in which you have made another year and another season lord i pray that those who may not know you in the part of their sins may come to know you lord god this day for those who have fallen away away lord draw them back home where they belong those who are unsure lord give them assurance to let them know that no matter what they have done the blood of jesus covers them and keeps them and those who have never been exposed to jesus i pray that they would come to him today father i pray that we would leave the baggages of 2020 behind and we would move as paul says i forget the things behind and i reach forward for the things ahead i press toward the goal of the prize of the upward call of god i pray that we would learn to press our way forward as we move into this new season we thank you for loving thank you for hearing my prayer in jesus name now go ahead and give him a shout out no one was prepared for 2020. we fought through a global virus and global unrest through it all fbcg stood strong and quickly pivoted to continue to bring the word of god into your homes we were able to take your favorite conferences events and fellowships virtually without missing a beat and reaching even more souls the he loves me conference reached over 3 000 women worldwide we helped hundreds of high school students and their families prepare for college in this new normal you transitioned and completed your classes online at the drop of a dime we even kept our young people engaged with their regular friday unashamed gathering thanks to you faithfully sowing seeds into the ministry we were able to keep going with our events to help you remain connected to god during this uncertain time we know this has been a rough year but god has a plan fbcg is committed to continuing to reach lives and bring the gospel to your homes a new season is coming it was never about the building we are the church we we are the church so whether i'm taking a walk or working from home whether i'm spending time with family or connecting with family everywhere whether on essential personnel or sheltering in place whether i'm in school at home or if now i'm the teacher our life still shines we are still growing we're still learning we are still doing ministry and still impacting our community and for the world around us amen praise god god bless you thank our fbc strong members i'm so grateful for all of you joining us tonight you're doing the you're doing a righteous thing i'm giving god praise because you're ending and coming out of 2020 and preparing yourself to go into 2021 in in the house of god and you know we're not physically in the church building but we are in the house of the lord we're in a place of worship of the almighty god and i'm grateful for all of you that have have joined us tonight i it is my prayer that you receive this word that i believe the lord has spoken so clearly to me i want you to mark down what i say to you tonight i want you to put a tag on it and a date and i want you to be prepared and i want you to look out for what god is going to do amen thank god we've had a tough year turn your bibles to isaiah 43 hold your finger there for just a few moments i'm going to tell you right off the bat i'm not going to tell you my theme and my subject for the night to the end of the sermon end of the message okay so just i know some of y'all like to take notes and you want to know what did he say y'all gonna be typing in there what was the subject i'm not telling you to the end so just hold tight hang with me and allow me to just uh just give you my heart and talk to you tonight about what the lord said to me and i want you to go to isaiah 43 and hold your hold your bibles open to that point if you want to write anything down you can write down isaiah 43 because i know our nation has been facing not just our nation but the world has been facing some challenging times problems issues stress sickness disease death financial upheaval people have lost their jobs dyskovic covet pandemic political divisions the widening economic in in inequalities the climate crisis racial divisions riots violence the election tensions global health we can go on and on and on and on with the issues that we have faced not only in our country but in the world but here is the fact this is not the first time the earth has faced challenging circumstances this is not the the first time that we've faced this and perhaps for many of us we have not seen anything on this order in our lifetime most of us have not we're not here and none of us were here in the 1918 but most of us were like there might be a few people that were here at the 1918 uh virus crisis that the world faced but we've had a whole bunch of things happen over these past hundred years and in in our lifetime we've had challenges but other people have faced challenges and what i wanted to find out is what did god say to other people in history when they face challenging moments the people of god face a challenging moment throughout the bible but i want to point out one particular time they faced a moment when isaiah was called to be a prophet isaiah was the prophet to the nation of judah let me tell you what was going on let me let me just articulate very clearly what was happening then the nation of israel was divided just like our country is divided the nation of israel was divided they they judah stood on one side while the other 11 tribes stood on another side and they operated independently and separately from each other as a matter of fact god raises up isaiah for the sole assignment and purpose of preaching and making a proclamation to the people of god while they are facing challenging times look at your neighbor tell them please wake up while the pastor's preaching i know it's late and it's 11 o'clock i know it's past your time but just just bump him to the side say he won't be long we going to be finished in just a few moments i just need you to hear what i'm saying here tonight so israel was divided god raises about isaiah and he tells isaiah i want you to prophesy and preach to the people and the whole book of isaiah is about the prophecy that god gave to israel and i think it's important for me to tell you exactly how that how that prophecy and what he had to say to him sums up the first 39 chapters of isaiah the first 39 chapters is god giving israel a warning about their sin the first 39 chapters he's challenging them because their hearts have been turned away from god their hearts have drifted in another direction in the wrong place their hearts have not been with god and so for 39 chapters god warns them about the coming judgment because the truth of the matter is if god loves you he will punish you he will whip you he will discipline you i was ministering to somebody earlier this week and i said to them that that you don't have to worry about trying to straighten out your husband or straighten out your wife when they're doing the wrong things because if you get in the middle of god's judgment you're going to mess things up god's been god a long time he don't need you to get in between their issues let god deal with them you don't have to be a god for them and so god raises up this prophet to prophesy and preach to the nation because they because they needed a weapon and that's the first 39 chapters but in verses in chapters 40 through 66 here's the thing that's great about god chapters 40 through 66 god gives them hope that's what's great about god he gave them hope he said in essence to them i love you i'm going to punish you but i want you to know that your punishment will not be the end of the story i want you to know that yes i will spank you yes i will discipline you yes i'm concerned about what you are doing and where you are but the truth of the matter is when you come out of that season of my whipping i'm waiting on the other side with my arms wide open waiting for you to return home to me that was the that was the the the scene and the circumstance and the situation and i'm grateful that we serve a god who does not remain angry forever he's a god who loves us in spite of what we've done his love exceeds beyond our behavior he loves us his anger doesn't last forever and so and so by the time we get to chapter 43 can i just talk about chapter 43 go on pastor talk about chapter 43 i just want to talk about chapter 43 for just a second god says to the people of of israel to judah this divided tribe he says to judah and he prophesized through isaiah to them because as a matter of fact i need to tell you this too because this is important too i almost i almost forgot that they were threatened they felt threatened by an enemy that was on the outskirts aiming and headed in their direction and so judah was worried that the assyrian army was going to come and defeat them and conquer them and take them over and so they began judah instead of looking to god to be their source and their protection they began to look toward egypt i don't know if y'all get the picture that that's a horrible scene when you start looking to your arch enemy for your protection when israel when judah started looking to to egypt for help it represented a very serious danger and god wanted them to know don't turn your eyes or your faith or your hope towards your enemy you gotta always keep your eyes toward god everybody keeps asking me uh am i gonna take this this this vaccination window when the vast scene comes in my direction yeah i think i'm i'm uh 299 millionth person on the list to be able to get it i went to one of those things and found out i'm way down on the list am i going to take it yes i'm going to take it i'm not worried about and i'm not scared is that the word i'm not scared of taking that i'm not worried about that amen i'm gonna i'm gonna follow the science and i'm gonna take it i'm telling you today take it stop being afraid or or fearful about it uh amen you you have an option you cannot take it and catch catch call uh uh uh covert and die i'm not afraid to die but i ain't trying to plan to die no time soon i'm not afraid of taking it and so god said to israel he said to judah i keep saying israel but god said to judah through the prophet look at these first few verses i just want to just walk through this several things he says he says but now thus says the lord who created you he said let me remind you verse number one i created you god says to them and i formed you he says in verse number four in verse one i created you i formed you and then he says in verse one fear not don't operate on fear i have redeemed you i love that word right there when he says i redeemed you and i've called you by your name your mind that this just that first verse is enough for us to shout about right there he said i don't be afraid i redeemed you that means i purchased you i bought you uh he says i've called you by your name i know exactly who you are and i've called you by your name then he says this you are mine what's a better place to be than in the arms of god the safest place in the world to be is in the arms of god he says you're mine and then he says this in verse two when you pass through the waters i will be with you he never said you wouldn't face challenges he says when you go through the waters he says i'll be with you and when you go through the rivers they won't overflow you when you walk through the fire you shall not be burned nor shall the flame scorch you i feel a shout coming on me right now when i think about that uh i'm praising the lord that he says when you go through the waters i'm gonna be with you when you go through the rivers they won't overflow when you walk through the fire you won't be burned they shall might i'm the one that does that for you then he says in verse number four you are precious in my sight i'm talking to somebody here tonight that no needs to know we are precious in the sight of god he has not stopped being god he has not abandoned his his call his his his anointing his power he says i'm the god who has the power and the ability to take care of you protect you don't be afraid i'm the lord your god your precious in my sight you have been honored and i have i love you i've loved you fear not i am with you what am i saying to you tonight i'm saying to you we're coming to the end of a horrific year but i'm praising god through all of the stuff that we went through in 2020 we're still here and i'm still here and you're still here we're still in the house of the lord we're still living in the land of the living we're still here matter of fact he says in verse number seven i created you verse seven everyone who is called by my name who i have created for my glory look at verse 7 right there he said i i formed you not for the devil's glory or victory god said i created you for the purpose i created you for my glory god says i need every young person to know that you wasn't god didn't create you for your own agenda in your own life we're created for his glory for his kingdom he says i formed you yes i made you oh i give god the praise and the shout that he is the god that formed us and made us for his glory that's what you and i need to know somebody look at the person nearby in your room and say he made me for his glory tell them on the other side he made he made you for his glory yeah y'all are saying it but but he doesn't stop there i read all of that for us to know how much god has cared for us and prepared us and brought us through a difficult time and season he has brought us through hell y'all we've been through some hell can i say hell is hella cuts word to y'all can i say hell he brought us to a hellish year but he told me he put this in my heart to tell you he says yes i brought you through but the reason i brought you through listen to me he said because i need to get rid of some stuff in your heart and in your life i need to tear down some things i need to destroy some things i need to get rid of some things why he says because cause look at him slide down to verse 18. look look at verse 18 i'm almost finished i'm i promise i'm going to be finished before the verse 18. he says he says are y'all there are y'all at verse 18 did y'all get there verse 18. here's what he says he says do not remember the former things nor consider the things of old stick a pen right there that's my first point right there i want to tell you right now we're going into 2021 and my assignment is to tell you to forget the past forget about what you have been through forget about all the tears you've cried and all of the stress and worry forget about all of that don't matter of fact the text says don't remember don't be mindful don't keep bring it into your mind it says the scripture says forget don't remember don't don't call it up don't put it in the forefront do not remember the former things that's right regarding the former things the previous stuff the stuff that occurred in the past and notice he uses the word things with an s i'm coming back to that in just a moment he said all the things that you went through in the past he says i want you to forget about it that's my assignment to tell you number one forget the past i want to tell you don't don't remember it don't call it don't don't even consider it it says right here in verse number number 18. it says nor consider the things of oh don't give it substance don't give it credence don't scrutinize it don't make don't give it a distinct place in your memory he says take the old stuff from the past that period of time of yesterday what was your past don't remember it don't call it up matter of fact stop looking in your rear view mirror nobody can get to where they're going if they keep looking in their rear view mirror put your eyes straight ahead we got some stuff that we need to have in front of us forget about the old thing matter of fact tell the past bye felicia tell your past no longer it's over forget your past but hold up he says in verse 19 behold y'all missed a great spot behold stand by take note take careful look at uh pay attention to observe make sure you see that's what behold means make sure you acknowledge he says behold i will do a new thing that's where i feel a shout that's what i've got to tell you god says it's time point two to embrace a new thing that's what i got to tell you we're coming into a new season we're coming into a new dimension god says wake up take notice pay attention make sure you see that god is about to perform something brand new we are going into 2021 and i want you to mark my word and hear me say it's going to be a new day and a new season it's the past is gone it's br matter of fact he says here's what i like right here he says i will do a new thing [Music] y'all see y'all y'all missing it see he said forget the things from the past he said but i'm getting ready to prepare you because i'm going to do a new thing let me let me let me break that down for you let me tell you what that means see there's a distinction between things and a thing what's the distinction pastor because he says i said thing and not things because the thing i'm going to do you can't put a specific name on it so you could put a name on some things you got a new dress you got a new car you got a new house you can put you can put a a title to the things but god says what i'm going to do is so huge and so magnanimous i don't know if that's a word but i made it up it's so amazing that you you you can't even describe it it is beyond go ahead give me some help right there yeah it's beyond comprehension it's a new thing god is about to do a new thing don't confuse things with things so i don't want you to get confused when i talk about things with things i don't want you to think that i'm talking about you'll get a new car you'll get a new dress you'll get no no no i'm talking about god doing something spectacular in your life that is so amazing that you the only way you can describe it is you have to say it's a god thing that's all i can tell you it's a god somebody tell your neighbor it's a god thing i wish i could describe it to you i wish i could explain it to you but it's so huge that the best i can tell you is it's a god thing nobody could do it but god nobody can do it but the holy spirit nobody could make this happen but the god that i serve it's hard for me to describe all i can tell you is it's a god thing wait a minute y'all somebody didn't get it i need to break it down he said look at verse 19 he says shall you not know it he says it's going to be so magnanimous you can't help but know it y'all miss it you can't miss what god's about to do who am i preaching to tonight it's something that's beyond your imagination beyond your comprehension he says i had to kill some stuff in your life in 2020 so that you could have 20 20 vision in 2021 y'all missed another spot to say amen i i had to take some stuff out i had to take your pride out i had to take your arrogance out i had to take your dependence on your job out i had to take your dependence on your bank account i had to take your dependence on your resources and your savings and your investments i had to take your take and get rid of that stuff so that when you look at me and see what i'm about to do you will see that i'm doing a new thing and verse 19 says you shall know it and he says look at here look at here so holy holy the person sitting next to you down somebody going jump up and run around right here on this point right here he says right here verse 19 i will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert he said i will deal with two situations your wilderness and your real and your deserts i'm gonna do something spectacular in the desert places the dry places in the wilderness places i want to do something where there's sparsely anything you can't find nothing you don't see nothing but he says i'm about to do something brand new for you please don't don't turn me off don't count me out don't ignore me all i'm trying to tell you is write it down write it down because god says i'm going to bring i love this right here he says i'm going to do something that you never imagined i'm going to put a road in the wilderness what does that mean you're in a wilderness place where you can sparsely connect with anybody but look at here god says i'm going to bring some roads you know what rhodes means it means he's going to bring you to a place of right connections that's what roads mean i'm going to put you on the road that's going to bring you the right connections hold up i got to hurry up here my time is running out but not only am i going to do a bring uh bring you a road in the wilderness i'm gonna give you rivers in the desert somebody say rivers in other words i will bring you some flooring waters flowing waters i'm i'm gonna do something that's gonna bring life to you and victory to you and hope to you and an answer to you it's a new day it's a new season it's a new word there'll be new relationships and new jobs and new businesses and new income and new direction and new friends and a new anointing and a new joy and a new peace and a new dance and a new message and a new song and new life god's going to give you a new thing our theme for 2021 that god is doing a new thing for you [Music] it's a new thing for you lift up your hands it's a new thing count it as done it's a new thing come on back up here praise and worship singers i i i gotta i gotta let y'all sing something real quick but i'm prophesying i'm preaching and i'm declaring it to you that it's a new thing it's a new thing it's a new reason it's a new day it's a new opportunity
