oh oh dear now is that and we're humbling our hearts to god save from the chest the chastise [Applause] is [Music] is [Music] [Music] trouble evil's [Music] fast [Music] is [Music] [Music] you know [Music] will soon foreign [Music] [Music] [Music] we'll fly glory to shed jesus [Music] what's right is [Music] that one of the things to do when i get to heaven is go find roof this is an amazing woman and and and tonight if the lord will help us i i want you to get close to her uh maybe god will allow you to touch your hand i think she's a beautiful woman you know sometimes when you're reading everybody wants to make the book of ruth a love story and so they focus in on her physical characteristics uh how she looked but but but tonight i can't give you her physical characteristics but tonight we're going to see some internal stuff some beautiful stuff that that that that i believe that if you grab a hold to uh it will bless your life you know the bible says in romans 15 chapter verse 4 those things that were written before time this those things that were written in the book of ruth were written for our knowledge so that we might have hope so that we might have strength and so i i i want this book of ruth to be a source of encouragement to you anybody anybody anybody anybody need any encouragement welcome welcome come on you belong in this place good to see you and so i i submit to you that all of us at points in our life really need encouragement but we find ourselves at crossroads and uh and and sometimes it just seems to reign in our lives and sometimes everywhere we turn there's an obstacle and what we need is we need encouragement and so it's it's my prayer tonight that as you grab the book of roof and as we dive into the book of ruth that that somehow uh you're going to get a word of encouragement you're going to say to yourself i'm so glad i spent an hour just studying it i i never saw that much in the book of rome and i pray it will bless you so so so before we begin and again i'm anxious to begin but before we begin let's go to god in prayer um let me ask those of you that are in the audience if there is a particular thing that you want us to pray for uh we're going to monitor the chat sister piles i don't know how many different lines you can pull up i don't know if you can do the facebook the youtube uh but but but but if there's something you want us to pray about i'm going to ask brother powell's one of our elders at the very end to pray and if there is something particular that that that you say y'all pray about um we want to pray about it right now on my heart is brother brandon gibson and courtney brandon dickerson and courtney dickerson their son had surgery today and stayed in surgery for many hours and so i'm praying i'm praying that his recovery will be speedy i'm praying that all is well with him and and so again i don't i don't know exactly what to pray for you about but i want to pray i want to begin with prayer i believe there's power in prayer anybody anybody anybody still believe power and prayer sometimes we go so fast and uh we roll out of the bed we roll into the bed uh we sow it such a hurry to get to our food that we never really stop and pray and so tonight i just want to pray say you pray with me father god uh we are so thankful tonight the joy of being able to call you our father you've given us earthly fathers and some of those earthly fathers have been so caring and so good but but father we know that no father can compare to you and and so the joy of being able to be your children to be able to call you abba father uh father we're thankful for that you you you will store unbelievable blessings on us and so tonight we bow our heads and we give you praise because you deserve praise and we give you thanks because you are a good god and you have rained down blessings upon us you have opened the windows of heaven and poured down so many blessings on us things that that we didn't even imagine things that we didn't even expect and all of a sudden you say here it is baby and so father we praise you tonight and as we think of all of the wonderful unbelievable things you've done for us we recognize lord we have made so many mistakes so many shortcomings none of us none of us have halos that that that we can report that don't have dinks in them we've all made mistakes like your word says we've all fallen short of the glory and so father forgive us of our sins uh and and dear lord as we ask for forgiveness of sins lord we we're praying for those that are here in this audience tonight i i know all of us though we have made the effort to be here tonight i know all of us have something that we want you to fix for us i know all those that are listening have something that we want you to fix and and so lord we know you you're to fix it man you can fix anything we know that that you were the one that said let there be light and there was light you're the one that owns the cattle on a thousand hills if you were hungry you wouldn't tell us and so lord we know that whatever it is you can fix it uh and and so we're leaning to you and not to our own understanding uh bless us tonight uh and dear lord as we open your word tonight uh help us to see things we've never seen uh help us to receive encouragement like we've never received it before uh you you'll be with us and you bless us uh help us as i pray in jesus name amen all right all right ma'am welcome you belong in this place grab a seat come on come on come on we are in the book of rule and uh we welcome you in this place ladies and gentlemen those of you that have been with us those of you who have been with us in person or online whatever and and and and and you have enjoyed ruth chapter one uh make me feel good and say amen all right all right well you did make me feel good i don't know if you told the truth or not i don't know i don't know uh but listen listen what i need and uh sister powers i need you quick with that mic and when the mic gets to you drop your mask and share your thoughts i just need one thought this is a review for perhaps someone that did not tune in this is a review for all of us so give me one thing just one thing that jumped out uh in chapter one chapter one one thing oh we got hands going up quick one thing don't tell a story whole story just one thing harvest time all right we're going to get to that tonight oh i understand i like that come on one thing one thing somebody the one thing that i think about when i think about naomi and ruth naomi left home left her land headed for moab and she was full and then she came back empty lord have mercy on mercy she left her homeland of bethlehem and went to moab she was full and she came back empty that's beautiful yes ma'am one thing uh one thing that i i found really uh encouraging about ruth was that even though she lost what she thought was everything but she still discovered that she had not lost everything that she still had her faith in her relationship with god all right all right all right all right all right one thing come on okay one thing uh brother john that really stuck with me and sticks with me is the fact that naomi had lived such a life before her young daughters-in-law that they were willing to leave their home leave their gods and come with her wow like that that is beautiful and i i need to say i want to meet naomi toodon yeah naomi is special yes sir one thing come on give it to us she was a dedicated woman all right she was a dedicated woman i like that i like that i like that anybody anybody anybody anybody is that it was shutting it down come on i liked your passion uh in uh verse 16 where she asked naomi don't make me leave you don't make me late or uh stop following after you and she even acknowledged that she wanted her goal uh naomi's god to be her god that kind of dedication and commitment is second to none wow wow and so what brother paul's alluded to is probably one of the most popular verses in the entire bible where you go i'm going your people will be my people your god will be my god uh unbelievable words of commitment and then she said if if i stray from that if i stray from that i want god to judge me unbelievable commitment unbelievable we could learn lessons about love there we we we live in a loveless society today uh in houston a twin 17 year old twin son killed his twin sister uh this is like how you how you do that same blood same bodies wow we need a lesson on love okay somebody else somebody else anybody anybody anybody anybody that's it okay let's let's run ladies and gentlemen let me just tell you i am so excited to be in route chapter two what we're doing is we're going to close act one i need you to see the book of ruth as a play act one is chapter one chapter one is a chapter of discouragement it's a chapter of death it's a chapter of darkness it's it's a very dark chapter and and and if i understanding is correct that chapter lasted for 10 years and so what i want to say to somebody that's listening what i want to say to somebody that's in the audience that that the best is yet to come that's that's what i want to tell you if if you find yourself in a place where you're saying you know what i am sick and tired of being single i am sick and tired of of of having to be called a divorcee i am sick and tired of being strung out on drugs i am sick and tired of children on drugs i am sick and tired of can i just say hold on when when when we get into chapter number two you you're gonna see things gonna turn listen we have entitled this whole series the best is yet to come but when we get to chapter two if i could subtitle chapter two i would sub title chapter two nothing just happens would everybody say that for me would you please say it again a 25 cents word that we're going to see it's not in the text it's sovereign 25 cents word theologians love to use that word sovereign our god is a sovereign god our god is a god of providence travis greene in his album called the heel would say that our god is intentional he's intentional and and so come on come on come on come on come on with me come on with me we're going to chapter two but on the way to chapter two i feel like we need to get the last verse the last verse of chapter one last verse chapter one yeah come on read it for us come on read that last verse last verse chapter i mean uh verse 22 so naomi returned from moab accompanied by ruth the moabitess her daughter-in-law arriving in bethlehem as the barley harvest was beginning cccc want you to miss it the narrator slips us in because he wants us to know we're going somewhere and so when he says they arrived from moab listen listen if you were with us last week i made the point i made the point that after the deaths of naomi's sons naomi heard that there was bread in bethlehem she turned around down that same road she had came from bethlehem and she left moab and she went back i made the point that was repentance she made a complete turn it's like i'm in a place i'm in a place where i i don't believe that i am receiving the fullness of god's blessings i'm going to get up i'm gonna get i've lost my husband i've lost my sons i don't have any grandkids i am getting up out of moab repentance and then on the way to bethlehem ruth made an acknowledgement of conversion rule says listen listen listen your people are gonna be my people your god are going to be my god where you go i go where you die i'm going to die what are you what are you saying ruth i am leaving i am leaving all of my old ways and i am clinging to the god of the jews i am clinging to the jew and so don't don't don't miss it they left moab they left a place where they were not in the fullness of blessings of god and they headed back to bethlehem and and the bible slips it in the narrator slips it in in verse 22 it's like they arrived and when they arrived it just happened it just happened they locked upon it was a surprise that it was harvest time i don't know what y'all see there i don't know what y'all see but but but but what i see is a god that's not willing that any should perish i i see a long-suffering god i see a god i see a god that the moment we turn around from the world the moment we turn around for ourselves right there right there waiting on us don't make me get excited in here right there waiting is harvest time he slips that in now no no no don't let me stay there too long and i need you to see verse one and really understand that verses and chapters were not a part of the original text really verse 1 really goes with verse 22. somebody read verse 1 of chapter 2. there was a relative of naomi's husband a man of great wealth of the family of elimelech his name was boaz we get back and scholars say it's a march april time frame it's it's a time when harvesting is coming it's it's a time when you are hungry and if you're empty then all of a sudden the fields are going to be full and you get a chance to eat uh it's it's also a time when there is a character that was not mentioned at all in chapter one that appears what's his name chapter one is really a female dominated chapter yes there is a limouleckin there are the two sons but but really chapter one chapter one really has ruth and naomi as the stars all of a sudden the writer slips in a male by the name of boaz can can can i can i tell you that boaz is a shadow i i i need you to see boy i i can't go there now i'll get there perhaps in chapter three but i i need you to see boys they call boaz a kinsmen redeemer boaz is going to end up in a relationship with someone who had no right to privileges they keep calling her a moabitest can i tell you what they called us they called us gentiles but because just like boaz married ruth christ married the church oh y'all don't get me started and so because we are the bride of christ huh we get we we get a chance to get all of the blessings all of the privileges that once only belong to the jews and so and so we'll see it and we'll see it uh boaz is a wealthy man writer slips that in but but but but but now let's go back to the text we we met boaz we are in bethlehem and i i i need you to think about ruth and naomi when when ruth got back to bethlehem when naomi got back to bethlehem naomi says don't don't call me naomi naomi means pleasant happy don't call me don't call me naomi call me come and bitter call me bitter she she says listen when when when i left bethlehem i was full i i had a husband i had two babies and i went and now i came back and now i have nothing i don't know i don't know how you see them but but but in my mind's eye i can i can uh see elimelech and ruth uh packing up their designer suitcases putting in their fancy wardrobes they are they are leaving bethlehem and they are leaving bethlehem in style but then naomi has to come home i was asking myself when i was studying i wonder what kind of clothes did naomi have on she says call me bitter she it was obvious and it's obvious when you start to compare it to luke chapter 15. luke chapter 15 is that prodigal son that had been to the far country and he was in the pig pen he smelled like pigs y'all when his father saw him the father realized that he was ragged again get a roll kill the fatter kid how did how did it how did ruth and naomi look how they smell raggedy clothes they don't have anything most writers surmise that what they did is they went back to the house that they lived in or naomi lived in 10 years ago it's like it's like a son that that shook his hand in his momma's face and his dead his face and said i'm going i'm gonna find a better life but then he got to ease back in and said mama can i just sleep here it's a sad situation which brings us to verse two now come on with verse two verse two anybody read verse two for us verse two and ruth and moabitus said unto naomi let me now go to the field and glean ears of coin after him in whose sight i shall find grace all right so so i'm going to ask everybody to tell me what you see in that verse because i believe that verse is loaded but i want you to have a moment to contemplate it renee you're sitting back there you don't have those glasses you need them you gotta okay renee read verse two first read verse two reverse everybody think because i'm going to come back and ask you what do you see in verse 2 that is so unique and ruth the moabitess said to naomi let me go to the fields and picked up pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes i find favor somebody anybody tell me what you see come on talk to them and just that verse i see that uh the daughter-in-law is getting prepared to take care of the mother-in-law by getting a job and she's going to get to feel going to get the grain and stuff to feed her i see that she's lowering herself she's being humble she's willing to work the gleam really means you're going to get what's left over so that means after the the farmers have cleared the crop they normally leave corners that for the homeless and for those that are destitute so what she's what she's lowering herself to go get what's left over and she's hoping that one of the owners of the field finds favor and will allow her to kid what's left over okay so so so let me take i thank all of you for you coming at you all up right on point remember what i said they they struggled in from moab they probably don't have anything you know they don't have a man there is no welfare system it's a very difficult time they're hungry uh ruth is in a country and the author is going to say it over and over again she's from moab uh is is it's like a white man writing scene and and john was black and the negro john that's how it that's how it feels and because the author wants to let you know roof doesn't belong it's very bad for naomi but it's worse for ruth naomi is back in her homeland people recognize her she doesn't have anything she's an older lady i don't know maybe she's my agent i don't know she's an older lady and and here's this younger lady who doesn't know anybody this lady is a foreigner this lady is a widow this lady doesn't have any protection this lady could have laid up in that house and said you know what it's awful ain't it off and she could have laid up and talked about how bad it was because it is bad somebody's saying man it's bad it's bad it's bad she she there's no unemployment check coming in but instead i love this about ruth the girl has an initiative she has a work and you're gonna really see her work ethic in a moment she she says to her mother-in-law listen this is your land and really you ought to be the one cause you got all the connections but i tell you what i'm young blood let me go and and and let me go and i am going to find food i'm going to find something let me go can i can i just say to all of us there are times when we ought to just get up and go hustle no we don't we don't have direction i don't know whether god wants me with this job but with this job or with this place or with this place but but the idea that i am not going to have a pity party i'm going to get up and i'm going to do whatever i can to take care of myself i i submit to you that that work ethic is missing she said she said mama mama let me go mama please let me go it was almost as if naomi could have said no you cannot go because it's dangerous out there some man could rape you some man could beat you you no you can't but but instead they both walk by faith oh can i tell you can i tell you when you walk in by faith when you when you are depending upon god when you are leaning on god makes ways i tell you and we haven't touched it yet that that harvest time that they arrived at didn't just happen god is going to make some things happen i believe when they left moab and when they came back back to bethlehem god says my time now my time now my time now come come come come i need you to see her say let me go to the fields and pick up the leftover grain behind anyone in whose eyes i find favor she's trying to find favor she it's like bro paul says you you got to understand what she's saying she's not saying i want to go to work in somebody's field in leviticus 19 verse 9 and y'all look it up later on leviticus 19 verse 9 god gives a commandment for his people saying now to those of you who are field owners when you when you harvest your crop i want you to leave the corners don't leave food in the corners because there will always be poor people among you that will always be aliens or widows among you and i want them to have a way to take care of themselves i'm not going to get political but we have a welfare system that says just stay home and go to the mailbox or you didn't hear me we got a system that says you know what just come to the mailbox and get your money now god says god says to the landowner since i'm the one that provided you with your crop i want you to leave the corners leave the corner so anytime that there is a poor person in your community there is an alien in your community they can go to work she says i'm i'm i want to see if i can't find favor mark that word favor because we're going to see it two more times we're going to see it again she says i just want favor you you know you know what you and i we found favor in god's eyes he has grafted us in we found favor jesus says i came to to to release the captives found favor she says let me go and come on come back come back to the text with me now come back naomi said to her go ahead my daughter so she went out verse three so she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters as it turned out did i tell you nothing just happened the author intentionally puts this in because he wants us to see how ironic it is how ironic it is that that ruth wakes up and ruth ends up in a field and that field happens to belong to boaz and boaz happens to show up and boys i uh i was thinking about how i got here 25 26 years ago i was down the street we had a restaurant and we were singing and praying in the morning and the minister of this church came to the morning devotional and he invited me i was attending another church but i said okay and i'd like to tell you that when i got here it was i'm i don't want this to sound wrong it was not the facility you see today a very few of you can remember what the facility looked like it was it was in disarray and i i something inside of me rose up and i just wanted to make things better can can i tell you that along our journey in life god takes us to places and we never know where god is taking us the the key i believe is to not to know the key is you don't have to know where you're going i i believe if we brought ruth in here right now and said ruth did you know you're going to end up in boaz field ruth says no but but when you were walking by faith when you were dependent upon god when you are living for god i believe god directs your steps renee terry i'm so glad to see y'all i i love the story you tell about the snow cone truck and how it already had the word of god on it already and how when the owner saw you the monies you offered were not the moneys he expected but he said you know what is something about y'all he you you when when you're just holding god's hand and you don't know where you're going you don't have what you need but you have god i believe that's enough there's a passage that says if god be for us come on come on back to this passage don't let me get carried away the bible says so she went out and began to glean in the fields behind the harvesters don't miss this now she's behind the harvesters she's behind the worker she's not a worker she is she is at a lower level than them as it turned out she found herself working in a field belonging to boaz who was from the clan of elimelech then look at that just then just then that's like it's just you know just the accident just so happened just so happened i bumped no just then boaz arrived from bethlehem just then just then just then can i tell you god has a way of arranging everything maybe maybe maybe maybe you didn't know how you were gonna get through college maybe you didn't know how you were gonna pay last month's life god has a way when you're walking with god i believe the passage that says all things work together for good for those that love the lord and are called according to his purpose anybody believe god working in your life huh but walker you and i were talking and you're talking about how you left louisiana you came to houston uh your sister passed a couple of weeks ago but you're here tonight i believe that's providence i believe it's providence i believe god is still looking out for you he's still caring for you look look at this look at this she just happened so happen to find herself in the field that belonged to boaz and then boaz just happened to arrive you believe that just happened stuff nothing just happens y'all she she could have been to that field earlier and she could have said i'm tired i'm going home huh but god arranged it because through boaz and through ruth is going to come another child in bethlehem and if ruth and boaz don't hook it up then the angels don't need to go to bethlehem because there'll be no sun born in bethlehem but but god arranged it through through time he he he saw boaz he saw roo and so i i need you to see that but but let me click it just for a second and put the spotlight now a boy somebody tell me and look at this verse look at this verse look in this verse tell me what you see that boaz did that blows you away maybe nobody else is blown away do it again do it again elaborate okay i'm sorry when he came to the harvesters and said the lord be with you what's unique about that it's a greeting brother john that i wouldn't expect you know from my boss but you know that shows that boaz was a godly man ladies and gentlemen they're in the workplace they're in the workplace now now here in the in the building in the church house you catch somebody's hand how you doing holy favor bless god's so good to me but monday you better get out of the way this man is at work can i can i say without meddling anybody the the way we talk to each other ought to be regulated with the fact that god hears amen amen god here i i when i grew up i i knew people who wouldn't smoke in the church house but they would smoke in the parking lot it was as if god can see he can't see god can smell he can't smell is it excuse me the same god that owns the church building is the same god that owns the parking lot and so if you want smoke in the church building why you want to smoke in the church's parking lot there ought to be something that says i'm a child of god everywhere i go i've seen a mother curse a child out in a grocery store and i just cringed inside i don't want to get too deep but but his heart comes out some of you don't know but for 25 30 years i had a business the first few years of the business i incorporated my wife and i incorporated and the company name then was tillman's enterprises i think that maybe three years three years four years and so the company was called tillman's enterprises and so you know uh you know i was flaunting my name is tillman and this is tillman's company um during that time we had a couple of stores but shortly after then i realized pull your name off of that give glory to god and so we renamed the company my mac blessings incorporated my mac blessings incorporated mack had relationship to mcdonald's blessings had the relationships to god and i've had people at the highest level of the corporation say what's up with that name i would imagine every time one of my vendors got a check and the check said my back blessings they had to say what's up with that i would imagine every time an employee got a check and the check said my mac blessings they had to say what's up with that that there ought to be something that says that that i'm a child of god everywhere i go amen i want the people to work at work to see me pray over my food i want the people at work to know yeah i'm human i make mistakes i do fall i'm i'm just like everybody else but but i got a god sign and and so if you look at this passage he greets them and they immediately greet him back what do they say somebody help me they they understood i'm at work right i'm at work i'm here to work but but but but but really is god who put everything together i'm learning to put god more in everything i do i'm trying to watch not just how i talk in the church house but i'm trying to watch the way i talk everywhere i i don't i don't want somebody to see me in the three-piece suit everywhere i go and so he must be holy i want that but i want by my actions by my words anybody else am i talking to anybody i might be having a party all by myself huh there ought to be something inside of us the older we get the more mature we get that we say you know what i'm i'm i'm not gonna hide the fact that i got a cross i want i wa i want the cross to be seen not not the visible cross but the cross in me i love i love boys i love boys but but come on back to this text come on back to this immediately verse five immediately verse five would anybody care to read verse five for me please somebody read book verse five then said boys unto the servants that was set over the reapers whose damn whose damsel is this so so so can i can i play just for a second a boaz comes to work boaz is concerned about work but all of a sudden he looks up and he sees a beautiful rose who is that who is that wow you know about him saying wow i i don't i don't believe it i'm exaggerating i don't believe he said wow but but i believe that there was something that brought his eyes immediately to ruth i mean the next verse and i already tell y'all nothing just happens it's like did god say no okay you did the greeting but now i want you to see this don't you believe that god directs not only us our steps he directs our sight he looks and he sees her and wow is that right now and i need you to very carefully see because we're going to see another attribute of of of of this woman called ruth the foreman replied sister piles you have maria come on come on you you over there with all those translations come on verse five okay verse five verse six come on okay i'm coming i need to go back a chapter i was jumping ahead of you verse five boaz asked the overseer of his harvesters who does that young woman belong to keep rolling six six also the overseer replied she is the moabite who came back from moab with naomi seven officer she said please let me glean and gather among the sheaves behind the harvesters she came into the field and has remained there from morning to now except for a short rest in the shelter anybody see anything else about ruth look anybody anybody see anything else come on no we got the magnifying glass out anybody see anything else about root mike run the mic run the mic run the mic run the mic run the mic run it might cause the powers she's a hard worker she was from morning to the evening so so y'all evidently she had this conversation with a mama at sunrise her mom-in-law naomi at sunrise she had she had she had that conversation with a mom i want to go i want to go i want to go her mom says you can go and and so the foreman says she asks that's another quality she asks she's humble you said it you said it she asked the former can i can i come please i'm i'm begging i'm not on a corner with a tin can but i i want to work right her work ethic is unbelievable humility is unbelievable and then the foreman says to the boss to the owner you know what she's only had one brain and that was for a short time she is a hard worker i i just i want to encourage somebody some sometimes sometimes people don't have a strong work they want to get paid i want to get paid as much as i can um but work i'm gonna get there late i'm gonna leave early i'm gonna stretch out my breaks i'm gonna um i was crazy when in my young years in my young years i worked for ibm and my wife will tell you i had this work ethic and here it is it was it was always my intention my intention was to get to work while it was dark and to leave work when it was dark realize now i'm a salesman i'm on commission nobody tells me what time to get to work but my work ethic says john get up be at the office while it's dark before light comes up and stay at that office working trying to make it happen until the sun goes down i i i just believe that that when you're a christian the work you do reflects the fact that you belong to christ christian's work ethic ought to be stronger than the world's work ethic anybody want to say amen that cannot be something that says you know i i need to get out of here this woman is amazing she says please let me glean and gather among sheaves behind the harvesters she went into the field and has worked steadily from morning till now except for a short rest in the shelter now now now we get the first words of boaz you all ready boaz is going to speak and boyz is if if this book was renamed it could have been named ruth yes it could have been named naomi and it could have been named boaz they're all three stars boaz is going to become the shining star but but now boaz is going to speak right we heard him when he greeted his workers right he sounded really holy didn't he now let's see how he talks to this girl let's let's see does he say hey honey come here you well i i get so tired sometimes when i listen at how young men talk to our young ladies is you know listen listen what he says listen what he says verse number eight so boaz says to rule my daughter listen to me don't go and glean in another field and don't go away from here stay here with my servant girls watch the field where the men are harvesting and follow along after the girls i have told the men not to touch you and whenever you are thirsty go get a drink from the water jars the men have filled what y'all that a boy has now um is he respectful right so so so when he says my daughter that is a clue that he is a much older man right much older man much older man but look how he talks to it look look at the workplace ethics that he has put in place i've told them here uh they better not touch you and i want you to know you can follow after my girls that's working in the field boy i got money boy bad boy bad his foreman says that's who she is he says to her my daughter whatever field we go to i got a bunch of fields you go from field of field behind my girls is he bad job am i imagining this or is he bad but doesn't our father own the cattle on a thousand hills isn't that father bad huh is it obvious i'm having a good time in brooklyn um interesting that boaz takes this kind of liking to ruth he's never met her he had to ask the foreman who is that and you would say just sitting here that inside of you i have heard about what you did for your mother-in-law what you did for your son i have heard about how you left your homeland how you left your gods how you left your people and you noticed me a foreigner look what he says doesn't say anything about her physical features that's not what attracts him boy has replied i have been told all about what you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband how you left your father and mother in your homeland and came to live with the people you did not know before nah nah nah nah nah i got this double underline in my bible may the lord repay you for what you have done may he richly reward may you be richly rewarded by the lord the god of israel under whose wings you have come to take refuge she she is she is caught up in the fact that boaz is blessing her yeah mean she she's speechless why in the world have you said and and later on he's going to tell some of his workers y'all pull some stuff and leave it on the ground because she coming leave it out there for her but but she is caught up and she is saying now why why are you treating me so special why are you giving me so much favor why are you so kind to me boaz gives her some information but then he flips and he says wait a minute now i need you to know the lord he says i want the lord to reward you for what you have done don't don't don't don't don't don't don't we miss sometimes the fact that the lord is in the rewarding business the lord knows how to pay us back yes the no the lord knows how to reward us for good sometimes it's like no i'm not doing that because there's no benefit in that no no no no allow the lord to pay you back i learned a mini a lesson from brother powers there are times when we're here at the church and and people want to see the minister and the reason they want to see the minister is because they uh they want money they they want to give and so many times brother piles is watching in the wings and he's just watching and many a time uh he's going in his pocket and he wants to bless them and i've asked him many a time you know what's up with that you know the church has money let the church he says no that's my blessing as if as if as if when he gets to the gate when his name is called up yonder that person is going to be there and that person is going to say bro pause help me god has a way of rewarding us for what we do um and and so and so you can hear boaz boy i said well i'm gonna do my part but what i want you to understand is i want god to reward you you've come from moab to bethlehem and you are under the wings you you're under the wings it's like god is a animal he he's a rooster he's a bird and and and he's a mother hand and and and the mother hen is taking care of the children we're under the wings of god y'all joe you on these wings stacy when when you out there trying to um sell a house you you under the wings of god amen well they're trying to preach a sermon when i'm up sitting here trying to teach we're under the wings of god do you do you remember and i i need to quit because i know it's time you do you remember that when when when when when satan wanted access to job he had to get permission from god because job was under the wings of god satan said no no no i can't get to him because you got a hedge around him he under your the fact she's so humble so humble may i continue to find favor in your eyes my lord she said you have given me comfort and have spoken kindly to your servant though i do not have the standing of one of your servant girls some sometimes we act as if we deserve god's blessings this this lady didn't act as if she deserved the boaz blessings so sometimes we can get so full of ourselves that that there is no humility because there is no gratitude when you lose gratitude when you lose thankfulness when you forget that your blessings are coming from that and you get full of yourself i i submit to you that if we stay low god will lift us up in fact that's what james says humble yourself and god will lift you up yeah anyway anyway anyway in a way anyway anyway in a way they they used to sell mickey mouse now it's time to say goodbye to all our company m.i.c okay listen it's been a joy to be with you tonight and and i pray tonight that that you've got some encouragement out of the word of god tonight i the matter is you and moab come back to bethlehem there's bread in bethlehem jesus says i'm the living bread i'm living water is his bread in bethlehem make peace with god he came he gave his life he asked us to accept him the bible says if we confess with our mouth repent give our life to jesus go down in the water we great for baptism he'll add us to his family we'll become a part of the bride scripture that rings out and it says as as boaz says may the lord repay you for all you've done there are times dear father that we go through this world without looking for payment but we are so thankful that god sees all and watches over us and protect us and he repays us for the good that we do so we thank you for that dear father we thank you for your son that died on the cross so that we through him might have a right to the tree of life lord we're so grateful that you allowed your son to come to this cruel earth and live a way to set an example before all of us help us to father to follow after your word help us to father to live each day as if it's our last help us to father by our actions and by our words that others may realize that we are your child and we follow after you the father we ask that you be with all those who've requested prayer the father we also ask you forgive us of our sins whether they've been by words thoughts or in deeds and help us to be more like you dear father we all need you in a very special way and so many of us have personal hurdles to to cross in in our lives to father so we ask you dear father to intervene and allow us to feel your presence and allow us to always keep our hands in your hands so regardless what comes our way that we know that you're with us so god be with us and watch over us until we're able to meet again protect us and put a hedge around us and keep us safe from all seeing an unseen danger these are some these and so many other blessings were asked of you in jesus name we pray amen [Music] and for those of you that are out there listening in the audience you need to know that this facility that we worship in is a facility that has the capacity of roughly 2 000 people and so if you say 25 occupancy i believe you're in the neighborhood of four to five hundred people and so as i glimpse the audience today there are roughly 100 or so people so that means 400 more of you 300 more of you
