oh hi so I want to tell you guys about my new favorite place in Japan it's a little onsen town in the middle of absolutely nowhere called ginzan onsen so that silver mountain hot spring I found out about this place because one it's served as inspiration for Hayao Miyazaki's movies spirited away and - because literally every account with like beautiful Japan pictures post this exact picture on Instagram so I kept seeing it and I kept thinking oh my god it's amazing and I need to go where is it so I googled a little bit a little bit of research and book mutter ginzan onsen is actually located in the middle of Yamagata prefecture so that's in the mountain range like actually like in there and it's not even close to any station you actually have to go there by bus from Tokyo we took the Yamagata Shinkansen I think all the way into the mountains and the second we left Tokyo prefecture there was just snow suddenly there was snow so the second we got to Kushina I think there was snow and then the more we went into the mountains the more it piled up it was amazing and just kept getting higher and higher and it was snowing non-stop I was really hoping for snow because all the pictures of Keynes an onsen that I saw had a lot of snow and it looked amazing so I was beyond happy that it was snowing so much so when we arrived at Ishida Shinkansen station which was by the way the smallest Shinkansen station I've ever seen in my life we had to take a little tiny old ass bus to go about 40 minutes out into nothing the streets were full of snow and ice and the bus was just like zooming for it this oldest bus now standing there like kind of scared but they had this really cool system they had like hot water sprinklers on the streets so the surrounding area off the sprinklers was actually like clear but I didn't have to use everywhere and also it was more mainly it didn't actually reach the whole road so it's just like the middle of that was clear and then we arrived at ginzan onsen it was so magical even during the day was absolutely stunning first we grabbed a little bite to eat there was a really nice little japanese-style restaurant [Music] and then we explore during the daytime but stay tuned for the nighttime it's so much more beautiful [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] and it was snowing non-stop literally from the second we got there to the second we left it snowed and they were shoveling of the snow and ice from the building's rooftops and then they just have to keep doing that every couple of hours because it just kept piling up nighttime in Ginza on sale was just as magical as I expected [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] luckily only two days before going on this trip hair salon Nalu fixed up my hair to make it look nice so thanks so much for that first of all on our left we have two flex ink situation and I think this is not actually traditional because it seems that this used to be closet originally and the toilet and the bath are both outside so that makes me think that this is actually put in but I'm glad we have at least anyway let's go into the main room so it's all tatami this two rooms really traditional I think like all of the traditional or do combs I actually set up like this so over here hot water boiler and a tea set looks like this here you can steps and drain hangout when he's like nifty little context of chairs and pillows pretty cute now the bedroom [Music] this wasn't actually here in the beginning they set this up when you had dinner and they come in and they just like put it here and this pill is like cherries or beans or so we know thank God like the stereotypical geisha up here some wooden statues of something up down below it's probably like an aesthetic or like a spiritual meaning to that but I don't know then here this is pretty cool this is actually alone Terrace I think is especially great for smokers because this is kind of like outside dinner and breakfast were actually included and they were both just amazing there were so many I think it's called Chi security where you just have like a billion different japanese-style dishes on your table and it was such good food really really high-quality too [Music] my diakon actually had an onsen but it was teeny-tiny so I just like took a quick dip there but then decided it's not worth it and go to the onsen up the street it's called ginzan so and it had the most amazing onsen I've ever seen I wasn't able to film because there were a lot of people so there was a huge bath and then you go down the stairs and there are these little baths and you can lie in it was already evening so was dark but it kept snowing snowing snowing so you just lie there in this hot bath and the cold snowflakes hit your face and it was the most magical thing the the oken provides you with this yukata style thing that you can wear to the own sins and they also provide you during the winter time with these huge codes [Music] [Music] [Music] have a look at this beautiful park right here we just dug out the sign that says there's no Park in winter and it's very dangerous to go into the the park wouldn't have known that there's a park here if not for this very visible sign [Music] and then after 24 hours and ginzan onsen it was time to leave I really highly recommend visiting ginzan onsen if you're ever in Japan and you have you want the experience you have some extra cash maybe so far this was definitely just one of the most amazing things I've done jack gonna do go ski that that is a he in a baton or stick Toro couch they could have sight sukhino Doggett bye-bye
