Getting Ready for Testing | Pocketful of Primary Teacher Vlog

so I mentioned that I wanted to show you all how I am running my math review centers today they are color coded so that my students know which been to go to to get their materials for me that's so satisfying because that's exactly the message that I want to spread to my students so it says take a deep breath go with the flow do your best show what you know good oh good morning YouTube I'm so excited for this week because the weather is supposed to be beautiful I think today is a high of 67 and that's gonna be the coldest day all week which is magical I think tomorrow supposed to be in the 70s Wednesday and Thursday are supposed to be in the high 80s which is crazy and then Friday is supposed to be in the 70s I think the entire weekend is supposed to be in like the 70s or maybe the high 60s but it is just going to be gorgeous and I don't know about you but I am just so much happier as a person when there is nice weather outside so my goal for this week is just to be in a good mood and I feel like I was for the most part last week but I was a little bit stressed because of all the greeting I'm not gonna have that this week I will have to grade any assignments that students finish like today a lot of my students will finish their named cemetery projects so I'll have to grade those but otherwise I should not have a lot of grading I will be lesson planning but it's just review this entire week we are reviewing four part which if you don't take Park it's a like national standardized test so we have both state testing and like national testing I guess I don't know we have a lot of testing but all next week Monday through Thursday our students are taking Park and they take it for both la in for math so this week we are just reviewing today I'll show it to when I get to school but I'm actually gonna give my students like it looks like a test but it's not a test I'm not grading it but I'm just giving it to them so I can see who needs help with what skills and even though you know I kind of know who needs help with what skills because I've been tracking them like the whole year I just want to get like one final thing hey do this so if you struggled with subtraction I'm gonna work with you on subtraction if you struggle with I'm gonna work with you on division so I tried to include like things on there that I thought that they would either struggle with or need a review of so I can see how everyone does but I'll have to check over those this afternoon so that I can figure out my review groups for tomorrow but that's where we're at this week I'm gonna go to Starbucks and I've been collecting like this stars on my app which is new because I didn't really know about that before I finally hit the 300 or whatever it is that you need to get gold status yesterday so now I'm like really excited to go to Starbucks because now I'm gold stuff I'm gonna go get some coffee and I'll catch up with you at school [Applause] so I mentioned that it's gonna have my students do this review page it's not gonna be graded it's just so that I can form my groups for tomorrow so that I know who needs help with what skill so at the top I just have adding numbers with regrouping and then subtracting numbers with regrouping the next one is going to be multiplication and look I already found a mistake I was copying these questions from somewhere else and like I like to change the names to students in my class but I forgot to change that name and excuse my band-aid I'm sorry this one is division this one is converting units of capacity this one is determining angles which we just did but still and then this one is converting units of length and then finding equivalent fractions and then adding decimal fractions and then multiplying a whole number by a fraction so I'm gonna give this to my students today and then just use this to guide at my group's tomorrow I think I just decided today is gonna be operation clean my classroom but this is all from science last week and I need to kind of clean it up and then give it to my team teacher this was from the oil spill activity that we did so these trees still have like a little bit of oil in them which I don't know if it's worth cleaning them all the way since my team teacher is gonna use them but still these were like the sticks that we used and the rocks I think these are pretty good but I may just clean out that trays a little bit and then pass that along to my team teacher and then the area by my window is kind of a hot mess but let me explain actually this part looks pretty good so originally I have these like six baskets back here and actually these still have bags in them with in legs from the angle activities that we've been doing for the past several weeks so I think this morning I'm gonna have my teachers assistant like and when I say my teachers assistant I mean my student who acts like my teacher's assistant that's one of my classroom jobs I'm gonna have her go through and sort them and organize them so I have a different container for each color so I'll have her put those away this has a bunch of extra science materials that I ended up not needing so I will pass those along to my team teacher as well and then I'm just gonna leave the baskets like stacked up behind here this is all for the week after Park which is actually a good two weeks away but I wanted to go ahead and get it ready so after Park we do something called hands-on equation so it's basically a way to kind of prepare students for al so each student will have a bag and it has this like template on the inside it's laminated and this is like their balance and then they have dice and they have white ones and blue ones I will explain this like when that time comes because there's no point in explaining it right now but basically I have all of these ready to go for my classes so these are old like book bins that I had from really good stuff that I used in second grade and these have actually been on top of my cabinets just kind of sitting because I have not been using them but I use them to kind of separate these so each one has like four different ones in it so it'll make it easier to pass out and then this container right here has all of the extra stuff so this is like my teacher balance and then I have extra pieces in here in case we end up needing them so total change of plans that's completely what happens when you heard a teacher never mind what I said we were going to do for math today I'm gonna have to push that to tomorrow instead we are gonna take our students to the computer lab because third grade is PARCC testing this week so we're gonna use their computer lab time to be able to go and start practicing for Park because they take it on the computer we want to remind them of like the tools and how to use them and practice tests and all that and today's the only day that we can get them in there until Friday we will have Chromebooks on Friday and we're gonna have them do a practice test so I'm just completely forgoing what I was planning on doing today to get them in the computer lab which is fine it will work out just okay and now I have to plan for tomorrow cuz it's already done so that at least is good [Music] soon though the Boston Marathon was two weeks ago I still have kids bringing me in little goodies which is just so sweet this girl made me at like a Boston Marathon medal so it has the Unicorn on it how cute is that and then it has the blue in the yellow in the background like seriously sweetest thing ever it is now my lunchtime the morning has gone pretty well we did the computer like tutorial for Park and we had to go pretty quickly that's okay we got it done I gave my students their review packet that will be doing Friday and then we jumped right into science because I'm trying to condense two science lessons into one so we did a lesson on hydroelectric power and then wind power and for wind power my students read this new gsella article and answer some questions so I do need to grade those that's gonna be my last science grade before interims go out it's just for multiple-choice questions so it should be pretty easy to grade I will make sure that I get those done and in the grade book before I leave today it is now 5:45 I just had girls on the run practice until about 5:15 came back to my room quickly graded some stuff my desk is completely clear I showed you all this space this morning so I did have some students put away all of those egg legs so that's a little bit more clean and then I just straightened up the area a little bit and then I also had shown you over here by my sink it was a hot mess with all the science materials and this area is now nice and clean so I'm pretty sure operation clean up my classroom was a success today so if any of you are like ogee subscribers and you've been with me for a while you remember that I used to vlog like walking around my room and I hardly ever do that but I'm heading back over to my desk because I'm gonna grab my stuff and I'm actually gonna get out of here I have all of my grading done which is awesome I am gonna have some social studies assignments to grade later in the week I know earlier I said like oh I'm not gonna have any grading I will have social studies but I'm not gonna have math grading so that's really good I'm gonna get out of here I'm actually gonna run to Dick's Sporting Goods on my way home I want to get Billy a new pair of like running shoes slash just like athletic shoes in general because he is wearing running shoes that I got him like our first Christmas that we were dating so that was like three and a half years ago and they are a hot mess he literally has whole them like all along the side they're horrible and he's still wearing them so I'm gonna go get him a new pair of shoes and I have a pretty good idea of like picking out shoes better than he does he actually used to work at a running shoe store but I have gone through tons of different pairs of running shoes so I know what's good and what's not so I'm gonna get him a pair of running shoes go home surprise him I'm gonna try to convince him to go for a walk with me tonight because the weather is beautiful I don't really have any lesson planning to do I'm sorry I'm trying to like look where I'm going so I don't fall down and blog at the same time I don't have grading I don't really have a whole lot of planning so I should be able to get some other stuff done tonight for my business I need to get some editing done all that good stuff so I will catch up with you all in the morning [Music] good morning YouTube I've yet to do my hair makeup this week but it's really hard to convince myself to look presentable when this morning I slept in until 7:05 and then I'm leaving at 7:15 like I just I'm all about that life lately like I don't even care or what I look like because I'm enjoying sleeping in and I've really hold on I'm having issues putting my hair through my my hand through my hair I really do need to get better about getting to sleep earlier but like no matter how many times I've tried my body just does not like settle down for sleep until midnight and I have tried like turning off off all electronics by like 7 o'clock it's still like my body is just not ready for sleep so I don't know maybe next school year we'll just we'll keep trying but for now like when I get in bed at midnight getting up at like 6:00 is just difficult so I'm gonna go get me some Starbucks and I just I feel like a different person lately because of it but it's okay today it's my double star day so I want to go and get double stars because I had no idea about any of this I used to hear people talk about double stars and I had no idea what it like actually was but now that I'm a gold status or whatever like I want to go take advantage of it so I'm gonna go get some coffee and then this morning I have to meet with my team teachers so I will catch up with you all probably during my planning time [Music] first of all my room is super hot and I'm kind of dying right now second of all these are our QQQ posters quest for quality questioning and I had these up at the beginning of the year all of us have to have it up in our room and I had put these cute borders around it and it just looked awesome and then they slowly started falling down and I had a lot of people saying aren't you gonna fix that um no I have so many important things that I need to do with my time then fixing these borders plus since Park is next week we actually have to cover these we cannot have them up during park testing or we can have them up but they have to be covered I'm gonna go ahead and just take them down because I don't think I'm going to put them up this exact same way next year I haven't really decided but I'm gonna go ahead and just take these down I also have to cover these sounds spelling cards which are up here these were already up in the classroom when I got here and again we're supposed to all have them in our room so I haven't decided do I want to take them down or do I want to try to cover them but I'm gonna just figure something out for these so I don't have to worry about it later in the week [Music] hello lovely people is actually like 7:15 at Nami I was driving home and all of us I'm not driving right now I'm parked but I was driving home and I realized that I have not vlog since I don't know my planning time or something because I had a spontaneous lunch brunch for two ladies but I love eating with them so it's all good and then after school I quickly graded a social studies assignment that my students completed today so that means I need like one to two more before Friday and then I'm good on all of my grades which is great I graded that and then Billy and I went to the gym we wanted to go early because tonight was Leto's pizza night which is like a PTA fundraiser that we do and we wanted to go to that so I basically took my kids out to dismissal Cape and graded put stuff in the grade book went to the gym went to Leto's I have no home I need to go in and shower I need to prep some review centers for tomorrow I bought them on T V T so I will link them for you and I'll show you what they look like but I need to print those and laminate them and cut that and then I need to figure out my groups for tomorrow so like which students are working on subtraction which students are working on division and I have like it written out so I just have to divide them into groups and figure out how we're gonna rotate and all that good stuff and then I'm gonna try to get to bed early because you all know that pretty much never happens [Music] good morning YouTube let's talk real quick because I did not have a good night last night like I was expecting to and I know I said I was gonna get to bed early and it didn't happen but it's partially not my fault so I sat down and I'm like okay all I have to do is figure out my groups for tomorrow prince himself laminate and I'm good to go however first of all trying to figure out who was going to be in what group and what rotations that we're gonna do was a little bit more difficult than I had expected and I had to do it for both of my blocks there's a little bit time-consuming but that's okay I'll show you when I get to school how I'm organizing that but here's the kicker so I printed out all of these review centers and that was one of the first things I did I printed them out but I was gonna wait until I was completely done go downstairs laminate them all that good stuff however when I got down there I realized that every single sheet had printed and like this sides were cut off and I was so livid because at this point it was almost 10:30 and I was wanting to stop it 10:30 so I could get into bed early watch a show and then go to sleep but they all heard it wrong so I was like you know what Michelle don't get upset about it like just reprint them laminate them and be done well when I went to reprint them my printer just like stopped working and I tried turning the printer on and off I tried restarting my computer and my computer was like freezing and I was so frustrated like thank goodness Billy was there because I think I was gonna throw my back book across the room I was so frustrated it literally took almost like an hour and a half to get the pages to finally print laminate them and get them cut apart and that was with Billy helping me I taught Billy how to like put stuff into the laminator and he did that part for me and then I just had to cut them up so I did not get into bed until like midnight and I was very upset about it very frustrated and it just was not a good night but you know what that happens and those are all things out of my control and I can only control how I react to it and I'll be honest I did not react very well last night but I got it all done and that's all that matters it's a new day and I'm not gonna go get coffee this morning I have a protein shake instead this is banana protein and orange juice try it if you have it it's really good that will be my breakfast this morning I do have a staff meeting I think it's like a math PD or something and then I will have a team planning with my other math teacher during my planning time so I'm not sure what I will catch up with you all but I will catch up with you all [Music] so I mentioned that I wanted to show you all how I am running my math review centers today so I made this up in Google slides last night but I sell something very very similar my TPT store they're called my rotation slides so I will link those for you down in the description box first of all up here I have a timer of time left so it is a 15 minute timer so once I start it you'll see it up there and then I will play that through 4 different times for each rotation I have the rotations numbered 1 2 3 4 and over here on the side is where I put student name so last night when I went through their review sheets have figured out what skills they need it I put them into groups based on that then I have their rotations color coded and you'll notice and not every kid goes to every rotation so this is actually for my block too because it has miss 4a my block one has rotations with Miss free and also Miss but who is my ta but some students will be coming back to work with me on like multiplication or division multiplication monsters as a center water park measurement is a center kitchen fraction Center is a center and then the Matchett Center is a center so I have these color coded for a reason and let me show you why they are color coded so that my students know which been to go to to get their materials and actually I think I'm gonna go ahead and put these bins out at like desks so what I will probably do since I've these long groups is like up here will be pink down here will be orange up here will be green and then down there will be blue if that makes sense I got these baskets from really good stuff I can like them for you now you can get them from really good stuff you can also get them on Amazon that's where I actually got mine from so within each basket will be all of the copies of the center recording sheet so like this is monster multiplication and then the cards so I like to store cards in these iris photo cases you can get these from Michael's I will try to link them down below for you most of time they come in clear but everyone smile you can find colors so whenever I find colors I collect them so that way the color of the bin matches the color of the basket so it will make it super easy for students to put things back and just keep everything very organized it is lunchtime and I have a huge smile on my face because I don't know what my custodian did but suddenly now my vent has cold air coming out and it has had warm air like the entire year and it's finally cold and I'm just so excited because it's been so hot here and finally it is manageable so I'm in a good mood math today we're doing those four rotations like I told you I only got through three rotations in black one I should be able to do all four and block to the black one you know I had to explain everything and I just did not have time but that's okay I will push one of the rotations to tomorrow and then we'll do the review game after in social studies today we are talking about the Underground Railroad and there's this really cool like interactive website on scholastic I'll show it to you in just a second I'll link it for you down below but we're just going through that and I'm just having really good discussions with my kids which I love and I honestly will probably just give them like a participation grade from this because you know I don't need them to write it down on paper to get that they're understanding it and I'm just having such good conversations with my kids and they're asking such great questions and I just I love it because I've always found this like really interesting I love when my kids get into it too good news is it is my day to stay inside for recess so I'm gonna quickly show you the website eat my lunch and I don't have any grading or anything to do for right now so I may just have like an extended lunch today which I'm totally okay with so this is the website I was telling you about it's through scholastic so I will link it for you and it just has this really cool like interactive journey as the slave like escapes to freedom and these all you're able to click it and it will read it out loud and it like scrolls as it reads it which is awesome and then it has like these different things you can click on to get more information and then some of them will go to like these other slides we don't have quite enough time why is this like this I don't know what that's doing but we don't have time to go through all of this today so I'm just kind of doing the ones that are on here but it's really cool because it goes through on the plantation escaping reaching safety and then we're doing reaching freedom when we come back from lunch so I thought that this was an awesome like free resource through elastic so if you were doing this at all I honestly think you could use this with as young is like second grade all the way up through maybe even I don't know fifth or sixth grade tons of information super interactive for the kids I wish we could do it on Chromebooks but because of PARCC testing this week third grade is using all of the Chromebooks so we can't do it on Chromebooks but I'm just doing it whole group and it's still super effective right the Sun is literally like blinding me right now so I can make this super quick as you can tell I am in my car hold on is this better now you can't see them at all all right that's not better I'll just suffer through I'm actually in my car it's like 540 ish I had girls on the run after school until 5:15 and then after that I had to help one of my co-workers or something so I'm now leaving I'm actually going to head to the gym Billy and I are going to get our workout on go home I do not have to do anything tonight which I'm so excited about my students are doing a review game tomorrow which is already prepared Friday they're doing a practice test so I am done lesson planning until like the week after next because next week is Park so I feel so good right now I'm so happy but I have so much to get done like for my youtube channel I have to edit my February training vlog my March training vlog my taper vlog and then my marathon weekend blog so that's a lot I also still need to film my Q&A and it's gonna be a lot that's okay we're gonna power through it for the next couple of days weeks however long it takes I'm gonna go get my workout on and I will catch up with you all in the morning [Music] [Music] good morning YouTube so I actually got up and did my hair makeup today it's funny because every morning I have a group of girls who walk past me and they're like you slept in this morning did it you but I actually got myself together this morning because right after school Billy and I are headed to will not deceive we're headed to Arlington I thought it was a main DC but it's in Arlington Virginia because there is a TPT meetup tonight which I'm really excited about it's kind of like spontaneous we didn't get the details until like yesterday but I'm excited cuz hopefully I will see some people there that I know and I will try to vlog some of it for you all but I did not want to look like a hot mess I'm probably still gonna look like a hot mess because it's supposed to be 90 degrees today and I'm gonna be outside for recess I'm just gonna be hot and sweaty but it is what it is I did get my new glasses last night now these are not gonna be glasses I wear all the time I just got them because I wanted something different these glasses are very very similar to what I have always always wore and they're small they have plastic frames and I wanted to step out of my comfort zone because I'm trying to do that more lately so I went with a pair completely different than what I usually wear but they kind of match my brand because they're black and gold so I will show them to you I don't love them yet in fact I kind of hate them because they're really big and that is not at all what I've worn so it's really weird to see myself in that but I will show you all and I don't know if I want you to give me because I know you're probably gonna say the same thing that I'm saying where I don't like it but it's gonna grow on me and I'm just going to wear them a little bit you know each day until they grow on me and it's all good but here they are yeah so they're like huge but I don't know they're different and I just wanted to kind of step out of my comfort zone so I'm bringing them today to show my kids but I don't think I'm really gonna wear them to school because my coworkers would be like why what are you doing that's alright I'm gonna go ahead and go to Starbucks and get myself some coffee because it's gonna be a long day the TPT meetup is not gonna end until like 8 o'clock and I probably won't get home until like 9:30 ish so I need to caffeinate [Music] so for morning work this morning we had our students write like Venki letters or poems to teachers who have made a difference in their lives because next week on May the 8th as part of teacher appreciation week is national teacher day so I have a plethora of letters that were brought to me but I wanted to just show you a couple that really stuck out to me so this one it says dear mr. I you have made a difference in my life by inspiring me to learn new things to not give up you also taught me that I am more than my test score like that right there I wanted to start crying I think I did start talking a little bit because that is so important like this time of year as we start to PARCC test I want my students to realize that they are so much more than their test score and their test score does not define them and then it says you have taught me to be Who I am not someone else like that seriously warm my heart I just thought that that was the best thing ever and like for me that's so satisfying because that's exactly the message that I want to spread to my students and then this one it says miss Frey you have made a big difference in my life I used to think that I was horrible at math until I had you as a teacher that were my heart cuz again like especially as a math teacher I feel like a lot of students have it in their head that they're either good at math or not gonna math and I love to be able to change that and just flip the narrative and have them realize that it's something that you have to work at and you have to get better at but I love being able to spread like my love of math so that just made my day and then this one it starts off kind of funny and says it's so cool to have a teacher at the YouTube channel not the point but down here it says doing the Boston Marathon inspired me to get a lot of courage and things outside of school like sports and a lot more things so that really warmed my heart because like realizing that me doing the wasa marathon and my students getting to see it like actually impacted them I just think is awesome so my teacher heart is just so so full right now it is lunchtime the morning has actually gone really really well with my black one I finished that one rotation from yesterday and then we play basketball so my team teacher actually took my trotsky ball template and went ahead and made a review game for it for park so I'm really excited about that because my students love playing Trask eight ball and they're that much more like motivated to do it now typically I only have one student write on their board and then that's the one that I check however because this is a review for Park I want to make sure that all of my stew are engaged and participating so I'm actually having every student right and solved the problem on their board and then what I do is I just rotate who I'm actually checking at that group and then if that student gets a incorrect they have the opportunity to pick one of their team members to save them and if their team member has a correct answer then they still get the point and they still get to shoot and if you have no idea what I'm talking about I know I've mentioned it and several of my blogs it's a game called Trask it ball you can go back to some my older vlogs and get all of the details it's been interesting though because I have my new glasses which I've wore like a little bit this morning and so my students saw them and I thought that they were going to like hate them cuz I'm not really sure if I like them but they've actually been really sweet and like no like I really really like them so that has helped with my confidence with them a little bit but I don't know there's still a little bit different for me so sticky with these most the time and every once a while I'm putting those on I actually get to stay inside for recess again today because we rotate on Thursdays and it is my week to stay in on Thursday but I will have a couple of students in here who have really bad allergies and they can't go outside because the pollen count is so bad so they're just gonna hang in here and go on the computers instead so I'm going to eat my lunch get some grading and stuff done and then I will catch up with you all at the end of the day it is the end of the day and I'm a little bit out of breath because I just rushed in from dismissal and I'd rush to the bathroom and now I'm back in my classroom I am getting out of here it is currently like 358 I'm gonna grab my stuff so that I'm going out the door right at four o'clock Billie is picking me up we are gonna be driving to it DC well no not DC I told you that this morning Arlington for the TPT meetup so I'm really excited about that I will try to vlog as much of it as I can and then I will catch up with you all tomorrow [Music] the music's on [Music] [Applause] [Music] good morning YouTube it is Friday and Billy is actually driving me to school because it's a good Billy we all look bad in the morning last night the meetup was amazing I loved getting to meet everyone but I did not get home until I can throw a sh and then I had to shower and get in bed and I'm very very tired from it because basically yesterday I left my house at like 7:15 in the morning and then did not get home until 10:30 at night so I'm on my way to school now I am making Billy go through Starbucks drive-thru so I can get something I post on Instagram a picture of a Starbucks drink yesterday and I asked people what is your favorite drink because I tend to always get the same thing I tend to get like a vanilla latte or I do like the what Billy put on your seatbelt thank you or I get the white chocolate mocha which I really really like or the iced cinnamon almond milk latte and that's really good no macchiato I cinnamon almond milk macchiato but I had a lot of people tell me to get a caramel macchiato so I think that's what I'm gonna get this morning I will let you all know how it is and then I'm going to get to a school I'm wearing my girls on the run shirt today because we have our 5k tomorrow morning so imma get to school and I will catch up with you all there [Music] I'm gonna get a venti iced caramel macchiato [Music] we had Leto's night on Tuesday and I went so I got another bead to add to my ring [Music] so it is already lunchtime and in celebration of Cinco de Mayo tomorrow all of the gray levels had to bring in different toppings and side items chips all that good stuff for a little like taco bar today so fourth grade was responsible for some desserts and decorations this morning during my planning time well before my kids came in so it technically wasn't planning time my team teacher and I went up we put out all the decorations and it literally took like the entire time so I didn't have time to do anything else but that's okay it is totally worth it now when I get to enjoy all of this yummy food for lunch it has been a little bit of a hectic day I want to grade that last social studies assignment that I did not get created yesterday I want to get that done today so I don't have to think about it at all next week and I was planning on doing that during my planning time however because this morning I spent all of that time playing up the decorations for the Cinco de Mayo thing and then during my planting time I spent some time putting up that banner to cover our sound cards which are like spelling sound card so it has like the letter and then different words and all that so we have to cover those for Park so I kind of showed you and I'll show you closer up at the end of the day but so I took the butcher paper and I actually wrote some like motivational phrases for my students I'll show you that later on but that took up most of my planning time so I'm not had any time to actually plan or grade or anything but it's okay like I will get it done I'm gonna go ahead and enjoy my taco and I'll catch him with you at the end of the day so my room is officially ready for testing next week as much as I dread it gotta do it gotta get it done so one of the most challenging things was trying to get 30 desks lined up with them all separated and all facing forward in years past they would have two desks like facing each other that way this kid is working on the computer disk is working on the computer but they can't see each other because our computers are back-to-back and to me that made a lot of sense but this year was mandated that all the desks had to be separated and they all had to be facing forward so they're in rows I hate it I hate having buddy does like this and it was really really difficult to fit them all in here and actually I only have 28 lined up because that's the total number of students that will be in my room when we are testing so I have three up here and then I have five rows of five within my classroom which meant I had extra desks so there are four deaths over here two on the bottom and then I look to over I also have a desk that I put out in the hallway just like right in front of the window area so that will be stored there while my students are testing we have buddy classes so each class that is testing has a buddy class in another grade so fourth grade buddies with second grade so the second grade classes are each assigned to a fourth grade class and they make us like this motivational signs so this was the sign that they made us that says knock it out of the park super cute and then they actually have brought in snacks and things which are over here behind my desk so my students will have some snacks next week which is awesome now as I was telling you before we have to cover up certain things in our room you all are totally familiar with that like if you have ever done testing you know that you have to cover stuff up so I had kind of told you that I wanted to put motivational phrases on the paper that was covering up the sounds spelling cards so I did not come up with this I actually saw it on like some kind of a treat tag and I just decided to put it on this poster instead so it says take a deep breath go with the flow do your best show what you know and then I had extra room at the end so I just put you've got this and then totally embarrassing I literally had one card left that I had to cover so I drew an exclamation mark so it's not perfect my like little ruffles at the bottom are not even you can see where the paper like overlaps and doesn't match up but I don't care my students all like loved seeing this message I think it's really important for them to see this and then the back of my room I have my anchor charts that usually hang here but I cannot have those displayed I could take it down but I actually decided to just get a blank piece of anchor chart paper and I'm going to put like a motivational quote or something on it I haven't decided what I'm gonna do yet I'm gonna think about it over the weekend and on Monday morning I will get that all made up and hang it to cover up that anchor chart so it has been a little bit of a hectic day I know I haven't vlogged a whole lot the last time I talked to you was at lunch and it is now almost 5 o'clock so right after school I dismiss my students and then I actually had a student come back with me I had talked with her mom and she needed a little bit of extra math help so she came with me almost like a little mini tutoring session but I didn't like charge or anything like I'm just doing it to help her out so she came back to my room with me and before we started going over math material I had to get a Chromebook cart from 5th grade so I had her help with that and then I had her help put out some of my desks I figure that's a fair deal like I'm giving you a half an hour tutoring session you can help me put out my desk so she was super sweet I love the girl to death so she helped me with that we sat down we worked on some math work for about a half an hour I took her back up to the front to meet her mom came back and I just kind of finished like getting my desk perfectly aligned because y'all know I'm like that and I'm not ready to get out of here so I have a little bit of a busy weekend I'm leaving right from here to go to an appointment a consultation for my eyebrows because I'm actually gonna be getting them micro bladed because I have a lot of areas where the hair just does not grow in and trying to fill them in a super frustrating so I'm going to go and see what they could do to help me I don't know when I'm actually gonna get them micro bladed yet I'm kind of waiting to see when they have an opening but I will find out at my consultation tonight so I'll be sure to let you know whenever that's going to happen tomorrow morning I have to get out and go to the girls on the Run 5k which will be up in Baltimore and then after that I've got just a lot of stuff to get to this weekend for like my business and everything but I hope you all I'm telling them to kind of relieve the anxiety of testing and all that so I don't think it would be like a good thing to vlog I'm not vlogging like the actual testing obviously but just like the background stuff you know what I'm doing for my students despite the testing so it will probably be a shorter vlog but I did want to just give you a little bit of a sneak peak of that so as always
