Interesting! I never realized that I could understand Yiddish at the same level as I do German. I understood the Afrikaans one perfectly and the German almost entirely (I donβt speak German), I could understand the general message of the Swedish and Norwegian one and quite a few words, maybe because I watched a lot of Swedish shows. But the Danish, Icelandic and Faroer ones I couldnβt understand a single word.

Danish sounds like something is missing
Interesting somehow to my years Afrikaans sounded more similar to standard German than was the case for the main Dutch standard. When it came to regular Dutch I can definitely pick up some words, but in Afrikaans I almost felt like I should be able to understand most of it.
Dutch has always seemed to me like what American English would sound like if I didn't understand English.
Swedish anchor looks like she's practicing to be a ventriloquist. Mouth barely moves while talking.
Don't forget Texas German
