open world games have become a common occurrence to the point that one could easily argue that they're becoming oversaturated I know myself that a lingering impression of stess falls upon me when I play a new open world game with only a handful truly making it feel worthwhile to have this open playground to mess around in and explore but there's one game in recent times that has shifted my perspective on what an open war game can be that game being genin impact and it did it a very simple aspect and that is The Game's World genin impact puts the world in open world other open world games I have played over the last few years have lacked that idea they more so present a slice of the world this area exists in rather than a representation of a world and obviously that's what they set out to do to capture that one area and bring it to life whether it be the wild west a dystopian future or you traveling along the remains of a society that has long since passed and only ruins remain yet to me now those games don't fill the idea of an open world like I said they are merely a segment of that world however genin impact provides something that I feel is a truly open World Experience like nothing else I have seen it feels like I'm exploring a world a proper World from The Plains of monstad the mountain that is Dragon Spire the heights of leway and the depths and sea of Inazuma each land you travel to feels unique and full of its own personality in a multitude of ways from Design Story visuals gameplay and music monads Lush Green Meadows feel like your standard open world a stepping stone into the world of tat that this game provides out of all the areas it feels the weakest but that doesn't mean it's bad not by a long shot it sets the groundwork that the other areas will take and expand upon this showcases the greatness of this world with its secrets to find creatures to fight and story to unfold monstad is based upon the Middle Ages of Germany and just looking at its structure you can see that it has that European aesthetic throughout the buildings this is one of the strongest parts that I feel genin impact offers up with its World each place has a strong identity through their visuals alone with leeway taking inspiration from Chinese culture and Inazuma Japanese each land you Traverse will feel different giving the idea of a full expansive world to explore on this simple concept of making each area exhibit their own culture through the foundations of their Villages and City brings to life a vivid world full of personality and will leave you itching to see where your journey will lead you next though it's not only the structures that bring a uniqueness to each land the actual land itself is filled with its own character from the sheer verticality of the mountains in leeway that make for an incredible gliding space but also experience the grounds below around quing Yong Peak to Inazuma that holds unknown depths Bene its lands and uneven Cliff faces that make climbing more difficult and adding more thought into how you should climb or even how it added a boat to travel to each of the many islands of inauma each area has a distinct style to their land masses that not only help establish them as their own Nations and areas but add new gameplay mechanics or contextualize how you can use them to get better around this makes tat a world worth exploring due to what new visuals you will be able to discover next as well as the new challenges and different layers that enhance game playay now I must admit the art style of this game I feel does give it an advantage in this department as well with most open World Games going for realistic visuals they all start to blend together and lose any real sense of their own identity I feel this adds to the fatigue that open world games have suffered from games like genin impact are always going to stand out more due to their more unique and interesting art style and I won't lie this game can be absolutely breathtaking at times and really helps drive home the want to travel the lands just from the beauty you can discover but interesting visuals isn't enough to make a world feel like a world no matter how diverse the lands look between each other but this is where I believe the game's biggest strength lies there are secret Galore to find and with each new area that's added into this game it's elaborated on exponentially I put over a dozen hours into Inazuma already and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface of what this land has to offer hell I still find the odd new mystery to solve or uncover in older areas it's maddening how effective that it is at making one want to continuously EXP explore from its runes to its Mysteries it all AIDS in creating depth it feels like a fully realized world the hints that are thrown around of the lands you have yet to reach whether through the main story or the main characters you can interact with that come from these destinations make tat feel rich especially when you will be able to visit these areas for the first time in future when they're added on or if you're like me when you eventually catch up to them and that is one of this game's biggest strengths that it would be expanded upon over the years until its whole world is laid bare for you to stumble about in whatever way you want this also gives you plenty of time to appreciate the lands that are currently out because you can truly get lost within them now I'm not an expert when it comes to music but I can definitely assimilate the distinct differences that each region provides with mad's more European Roots the piano becomes more prominent and the same can be said about leeway and Inazuma each having their own unmistakable sound based on instruments that are associated with the real life Inspirations it's just another neat little layer that helps the world of genin impact feel like it has an undeniable culture I also feel the importance of the inspiration of using real time periods and areas from our world goes a long way in helping build that sense of identity and feeling truly open worldly as one will already have some IDE as to how tivat functions due to the knowledge they have of our own world it's a pretty neat trick when you think about it this allows them to throw in what they want to make this world their own but that familiarity will keep you grounded and have you invested much quicker without the game having to explain this whole world to you you simply take it as if these areas developed similar to Japan China and Germany but with all the fantasy elements they took a different term from what we know and this is me only talking about the first Tre regions I haven't even touched anything beyond that and I think that it goes to show just how captivating having a world feel like an actual world is it gives genjin impact an identity that no other games have captured in my opinion even though the open world is so massive there's this uniqueness that other open worlds lack it pushes me to want to explore more see the whole world fully visualized and I honestly am excited to see when this game actually finishes to take in the whole scope of what I explored as I said genin impact puts the world in open world with unique locations that adhere to their own cultural style the terrain being distinctive to each Place musical instruments correlating with said regions to give them their own flare and build a world that truly makes one wish to wander and explore from its cities to Villages Seas to mountains it's open world quite frankly like no other and that's amazing do you find genin impacts world as fascinating as me or am I just talking out of my ass let us know
