hi guys hey what you see is a 12-volt scar  altering it oh you can see that at the back   of it there is no three-phase rectifier  because I took it out since I converted   this into a three-phase brushless DC motor  now guys a car alternator produces 12 volts   at an RPM of around 2,000 or more and my  target is to produce 12 volts at 3 times   less than rated RPM which is somewhere around  700 RPM so guys these four are the wires coming   out from the armature winding now among these  full there is one tapping point because it is   a star connected finding since this terminal  is the thicker one so the probability is high   for the tapping point to be this one so let's  remove it so guys here you can see the tapping   point the remaining three are normal all the  wires are coming on and joining at this point   so what I have to do is D solder it and remove  the tapping now guys are the armature winding   of this alternative contains three separate  windings now you see here six wires okay   one two three the smaller one four five and  six now these six wires are from three coils so guys it's time to replace the brushes  back at the back of this alternate again okay so guys now the wiring  has been done and also space   has been created for installing  the new wires let's install it so guys to connect the pressures back again all  you have to do is push them inside and keep them   held back with a metal or thin metal piece or  oil pen okay so one is already in as you can see   the other one is held back okay so guys the case  has been installed as before now I have to remove   this metal wire to make the brush get in contact  with the slip ring okay so now it's in contact okay so guys are the old  leader is all set for testing so the phase virus will be connected in series  to increase the overall armature winding voltage   power phase so three phases will be connected  in series so guys here as you can see that I'm   using a UPS battery 12 volts a 70-inch chloride  so I've connected the terminals from the UPS   battery to the brush slip ring terminals a red  and blue although one wire is not connected that   I will connect afterwards and the wires from the  alternator have been connected in series and the   final output is appearing on this green wire and  this black wire so here what I have as multimeter   pointing towards 200 volts AC mode to measure  the generated voltage from the alternator so   let's do the connections and do the test ok  black to black although it does not matters   because the old is coming out from the alternator  is going to be AC so polarity does not matters   at the moment so the wires have been connected  meter is pointing towards with zero point zero   volts and one wire from the ligase battery has  been connected to the brushes now let's connect   the other wire to and then move the shaft to see  some generated voltage and after that I'm going to   do some rope rotation so zero rules so maximum  that I did was three volts with hand rotation okay the thread has been found  now I have to touch the terminal   to the battery ok the connection has  been made keep watching the screen whoa so guys as you saw that I generated around  14 volts AC with the help of this alternator with   simple rope rotation which is really awesome  which means that the series connection the   modification that I did are actually working  a little higher rpm somewhere around 2000 AD   it is going to produce 36 volts so guys  this is the Royal Enfield headlamp bird   that I am going to use to connect her to  this ordering it out and test its power connecting this fire okay go okay so guys this  is a single phase rectifier 35 amperes which   I'm going to connect so as you can see here the  plus positive terminal and this is the AC the   black and red are the AC if this one is AC then  the diagonal opposite is also AC so these two   will be connected to the black and green terminal  from the alternate oh one is done comes the second   one that also is done now finally the output will  be DC and will appear on blue and black so let's   connect ammeter again so guys as you can see I  have connected the rectifier and the terminals   of the meter and now it is pointing towards 20  volts DC mode although this brush brushes and the   rotor system has not been excited I will connect  the wires so I found the threat now it's time to   connect in the blue terminal the rotor winding  okay that being done watch the meter screen so   it was 11 point 5 volts DC a little bit voltage  went because of the forward biasing around of 1   point 4 volts and now guys since the output is  DC okay I can also measure the output current   since I have seen the winding connections let's  see the impact of that okay watch the screen around 5.8 1 amperes is what I produced by the  Rope rotation test so the total power that I   produced was around 72 watts so guys here what you  see are three rectifiers 35 ampere single-phase   which will be connected to the output terminals of  the alternator this is a thirty-eight watts solar   panel now I'm going to measure its voltage you can  see I have pointed out at the meter towards 200   volts DC mode because its voltage is going to be  more than 20 as you can see it's twenty point one   volts now measuring its current and this panel  is very old almost eight to nine years old and   you can see it as still producing one point five  amperes DC now this is a sixty Watts 12 volts car   headlamp bulb 60 watts meaning that it will take  somewhere around five amperes from a DC source so   I have connected the solar panel output terminals  and as you can see that it is not glowing because   obviously the current from the solar panel is  not high enough now the three rectifiers are   here on which the base I will keep the Weiss and  otherwise is for mounting the alternator and the   three-phase virus independent windings will be  connected to the three independent rectifiers   and the output of the rectifier will be connected  in series to increase the voltage at the same rpm   three times the final output will appear on this  blue and a red terminal red being positive and   blue being the negative terminal you can see the  brush terminals are still not connected red and   blue these two wires will be connected to the  output from the solar panel which this video is   about so let's connect the output of the rectifier  to the multimeter in 20 volts DC mode to measure   the voltage being generated by the alternate  after its excitation with the solar panel so   the solar panel wires have been connected to the  brush or rotor terminals of the alternator and   the alternate errata winding is excited now now  let's mount the thread and measure the generated   voltage with the help of the multimeter and as you  can see the generated voltage was nine point two   two volts let's try once again a little harder  and as you can see the voltage has increased by   ten point two five volts DC now since the output  from the rectifier is direct current so I can also   measure the current in ampere mode okay keep  watching the display screen and as you can see   the current was as high as seven point five seven  amperes once again yeah this time it was not that   high five point one eight amps now I'm going to  extend the final output wires from the rectifier   set and connect a sixty watts car headlamp bulb  and try if this setup can glow this ball sixty   watts and initially you saw that this bulb did not  glow from the output terminals of the solar panel   let's see if this way it glows and as you can  see that it is slowing you might see that it is   glowing really dim but it is very bright and it's  12:00 at the noon so for that reason even though   it has grow it is growing a really bright and  still you cannot see it because it's very bright   in the Sun now this is a 12 volts to 220 volts a  UPS transformer that I'm going to use to step up   the output wire to step up the output voltage from  the alternator the generated voltage you can see   the windings have been connected in series let's  connect again the solar panel terminals to the   brush terminals and at the final output will be  connected to the rectifier you can see here the   weather is very cloudy so I have to wait for the  Sun for better excitation of the rotor winding   at present there is no Sun now it is and you can  see that the voltage generated was fourteen point   two volts again no Sun and I'm going to try to  glow the bulb you can see the bulb isn't glowing   because the solar panel isn't feeding the rotor  winding enough and now it is glowing because now   the output from the solar panel is good enough for  100 watts bulb to glow so guys now what I am going   to do is excite the rotor or field winding with  a 7h UPS battery and step up the armature overall   output voltage with the help of a 220 volts UPS  transformer and to the output terminals I am   going to connect a multimeter pointing towards  750 volts easy I'm going to follow the same   procedure of winding the thread and connecting  the two terminals of the brushes to the battery   windings excited watch the screen and you can  see the generated voltage is somewhere around   234 volts here you can see 272 volts on the second  try now I'm going to try the same 100 watts bulb   inside the room not in the Sun it's a 220 volts  400 watts usual incandescent bulb terminals have   been connected to the UPS output winding has been  excited keep watching the bulb and as you can see   it is flowing bright let's turn off the lights and  try again and you can see that it is much brighter   now cool so I'm removing the bulb I'm connecting  a simple 9 watts LED bulb it is glowing really   bright and also it is not hard enough for me  to blow the bulb by rotating the alternator   this is a 200 Watts led halogen that I'm going  to try and glow if this alternator can handle   this big load so everywhere has been connected  okay you can see that it is easily glowing to   full potential the LED halogen lights very nice  okay so guys that would be all about today's video   thank you so much for watching it please hit like  and don't forget to share and subscribe thank you
