well how many people in here really think you have something to praise god for oh hallelujah glory to jesus you i i hope you heard the wording i said how many of you think that you have something to thank god for [Applause] well it's obvious that those who think you have something to thank him for is just a little weak now i want to appeal to those of you who know [Applause] hallelujah that's his name thank you jesus [Applause] [Applause] oh how wonderful god is hold the light in your jesus [Applause] [Music] oh my god [Music] [Music] bless your name jesus that's the name of the law well [Music] the apostle paul said i know [Applause] [Music] [Applause] i'm not guessing about this thing he said i know whom i have believed and and i'm persuaded [Applause] that he is able to keep that which i have committed unto him against that day and it's something about it when you know him [Applause] the praises just kind of come automatically [Applause] now i'm gonna i'm gonna make a little small adjustment here y'all uh so accustomed to sitting there whether i preach 15 minutes an hour whatever but i'm also know something about myself i'm going to reverse it today and what i mean by reverse it i'm not changing into being the pope but i am going to sit down [Applause] the centerpiece i just i just want you i i just want you to go tell about four or five people i know room i believe um oh bless his name all right [Applause] no no i don't i don't mean i don't mean for you all to stand up while i'm teaching you can be seated only thing i'm saying is that i'm taking the same liberty as you today i'm gonna sit down [Applause] he's worthy of all praise he is worth of all praise if you believe that say it he is worthy [Music] of all praise his name oh yes he is jesus is of all praise [Music] he [Music] [Applause] blessed bless his name bless his name bless his name that's right everybody please be seated i just believe that the lord himself has something special in store for his people today there are those days when you bring in someone to carry the load but then there are also those days when you just get someone to help and kind of get under the load with you and today i tried to decide on someone to help by bringing either this morning's early message or the 11 o'clock and although i found it a little bit difficult even at the um our rising and uh preparing i found it just a little bit difficult had some pain had a few things going on but the lord said just go in my strength i i know every every worship and then of course she's here when i'm not but when i'm here on sunday when i'm here on tuesday and i guess every morning at six o'clock mother deola is asking the lord to give me new strength [Applause] so i i've used i've used up last week's stream [Applause] but i do believe that i've got a whole uh a whole new amount of strength that's gonna carry us through the day amen i want to talk to you briefly today from the book of numbers the book of numbers now you know that is old testament somewhere around you know maybe about third or fourth book in the bible so you that back there in the back please i don't need to hear pages rattling from back there somewhere near revelation uh if you don't mind just let let those who are standing and waiting uh be seated at this time while others are yet [Music] finding the book of numbers i want to talk about um well really that's what we're talking about i'm going to talk a little bit about carrying the load some way i heard someone say that um a load is easier to carry when it is shared same load same 150 pounds but it's easier if two people get under it and it is assumed that each person has possibly half the load which is 75 pounds each and that's a whole lot easier than one person trying to carry the whole 150 pounds god has given to us here at temple of deliverance church of god in christ and often we just refer to it by our initial name and i know that there are some people don't like for me to even mention the fact that temple of deliverance at its inception was not church of god in christ but it was an independent ministry and of course a lot of that independence i haven't lost and don't ever intend to lose we had some things happening in the city and a lot of times when people twist stuff and you don't say anything and they had it going a couple of years ago and well about three years ago and constantly right on up until now that one of our former bishops that there was a rift between he and i because you know i didn't believe in women preachers and you can't even turn on television see mother deola sitting up here every sunday morning and say i don't believe in women preachers and in fact when we first started and was not bound by any kind of denominational policy i did even ordain a few women i don't i don't try to hide that because i believe that if the god that i served had can anoint a ducky and a rooster [Applause] don't tell me that he can't use woman and i i really didn't get up to go that way but i look and see the greatness of this church and i think about what the church could be if just a few more people we're willing to get on the load and share the load you've got only two days it's sunday and day after tomorrow actually beginning at midnight tomorrow night is our monthly unity fast i call that unity fast because i know the lord speaks to his people individually and there are times when he places it in your spirit puts it on your heart and you're fasting and praying about a particular matter that concerns your family or concerns your your job it concerns your health miscellaneous things your own spiritual height that you're trying to attain but on the first tuesday and every month we call that our unity fast because this is when we focus on the corporate body of believers who worship under the banner of temple of deliverance and the announcers they get up and they remind you and they talk about it and some people they as the old folk you say go in one ear and out the other but i'm going to tell you you cannot begin to imagine where the lord would take us if we would really join ranks and get under the load oh yeah pastor assistants the worship coordinators everybody that have their individual places would continue to do what they're doing but believe me when i tell you the whole church would be blessed to an even greater degree if everybody would determine that when i walk out of this door today i'm going to make a pledge to myself and the god that i'm going to get under the load and i'm not going to let the number of persons that come in early at 6 00 am while enroute to work let them pray while i go down the street and look at the building and just kind of blink i'm going to stop in if i can't stay with five minutes let me tell you we talk about what prayer can do but you don't really know until you put it in the practice brother spiked uh came out to the house this morning and to drive me to church and he could tell you that when i left out of the door he probably wondered you know what in the world is this man gonna do he can't seem to even walk from the door to the to the car but of course right now if i wasn't trying to reserve just a little of my strength uh i could have gone down there and joined mother of the old and cut one or two steps [Applause] the god that i serve able to do what exceedingly abundantly above all you don't just say those three words exceeding abundantly and above i'll just tell somebody those three words exceedingly abundantly and above i'm really not going to be long-winded we're still going to get out of here um in time to not just have to go straight into the uh 11 o'clock when you look at the book of numbers you're looking at a book that really deals with what the caption says numbers because here the lord through moses is leading the children of israel out of egypt in route to the promised land but there began to be a cutting away well let me put it in these terms we complained about the hot weather oh my god one of these 95s and 98s when did they go in and you're supposed to have four seasons in the course of the year but instead of us coming out of summer going into autumn and from there in the winter look like we're going straight from summer right on in the winter because these days and especially well these nights in case you have noticed they are very cool i won't say they're cold but they are very cool god through moses leading the children of israel out of egypt in route to the land of promise somehow in the midst of that greatest spiritual experience satan gets in the middle i i kind of got tangled up on that word there because i didn't know whether i wanted to say midst m-i-d-s-t uh mix mix because either one would have been proper at some point they are called the mixed multitude only reason moses had problem was because he wasn't leading a group of all same people he was leading a mixed multitude he was leading some some pure israelites but he was also leading some folk that truth of the matter is they didn't know what they were some of them had um the belief of the egyptians the egyptian gods were in their spiritual blood system others were trying their best to learn everything they could about jehovah yahweh the i am god the self-existent one [Applause] and while moses is trying to lead one way he always had somebody that the lord spoke to in the night and they were trying to go in a totally different direction so it was both a mixed multitude and it was a multitude where you had um people who some of them i guess really didn't know who and what they were so when they did not understand what was going on they did what we do if we don't understand we ask questions i mean that's the intelligent approach but you also have those that rather than asking questions they just complain and hence you get the title of this book because god does not accept but just a minimum degree [Music] of complaining from his people he has never told us to understand him he's never told us that he's going to explain what he's doing we walk by what [Applause] by faith not by sight but we walk by faith and faith when you're following and the spirit of the lord is within you and upon you if he says turn here you don't have time to be asking well lord i mean if i turn here how far this way am i going what's this turn all about next thing you know the body of christ has gone one way and you yet standing at the crossroads standing at the corner standing on the highway wondering which way to go but when you learn how to believe this book oh you don't hear me and walk by faith it eliminates so many questions numbers 11 are you there listen what it says here verse 1 says and when [Music] the people complain what a way to start a chapter and when the people complain it doesn't take time uh to really do a lot of talking about conditions and what it just says and when they complain it established the fact that they did complain but it also established the fact that there was a response from god when the people complain when the people complain what's the next thing you see there you all shall say it that low when the people complained it did what [Music] [Applause] which says to me that the people of god complaining and one particular verse goes far enough to say they complained about the way the way that the lord led them plain about the food that he spreaded before them and rained down every morning my god i tell you it looked like with my limited understanding i wouldn't even think about complaining if every morning i knew that the master chef in heaven was preparing a meal especially for me and all i had to do was go out there and gather it and don't worry about how much of this i eat today because tomorrow is going to be fresh [Applause] roasted and delivered and nobody can stop it because it's coming straight from the lord i don't care what you call it uh what vitamins uh do we find in this who cares if the same one that made my body is the one that's preparing this food every morning i don't have anything to complain about i don't have to worry about it not being there because the same [Music] one [Applause] that delivers my food is the one that created me and i don't have to worry because the food is going to be just as sure as me if i'm going to be here the food's going to be here oh you all didn't the same god [Applause] and you got to get that in your mind the same god that created you before he even placed us here on this earth and and i i remind you again i said it a few days ago a lot of things that my father used to say in his messages uh comes back to me from time to time he said you know it's a whole message in thinking about why god made man on day number six and the next thing he did day number seven he rested because after he created man that was the end of his creation man was the last thing on his agenda and of course a little maybe a little comical that um the lord made man last and uh someone said that he made man last because man would have been standing around trying to you know give god some advice on how to make this but there's something that is even deeper and more penetrating when it comes to the reasoning behind god uh making everything else creating everything else before man first of all he wanted you to know that everything you would ever need it was already here when you got here now i i know the way we pray and we tell the lord lord send this and lord do this and lord do that and lord i need such and such but when you get a thorough knowledge of this book you understand that what you're asking for is already here you just got to learn how to appropriate it you got to learn how to thank god for it oh my god there is absolutely nothing that you can need won't desire that god didn't have in the earth before he brought you here because everything else came into existence between day one and day five you know there was a time when people would go to a beat up house look around well i i don't have enough money to buy anything else so maybe i guess i can do something with this house and then something started happening i've lived long enough now that i can remember the next thing you know you start going and looking at houses and they already had drapery they already had kitchen appliances [Music] you don't see where i'm going little by little you begin to see houses on the market that all you had to do was they said it's turnkey you know all you got to do is just come up with the money make a down payment and move in and everything you need is here we'll see god was already ahead of schedule on that when when he brought us into this world it was a turnkey project [Applause] everything else was already here you didn't have to worry about the going to get the interior decorator because the lord put everything [Music] before he brought you here we talk about you know sick heal me lord and then you go back and read the scriptures and somewhere maybe around exodus i think it's in the 15th chapter somewhere in there where it says he gives them his name i am jehovah rapha we don't see it in our english translation because what we have it's already been translated and it just simply say i am the lord thy god that what heal it thee now you asking god to heal you but according to [Music] that verse of scripture and then the 53rd chapter of isaiah it says he was wounded but but mary hadn't even been born yet he was wounded the wise men haven't come from the east he was wounded the shepherds in the field they haven't even got the word concerning the baby being born he was and peter later on talks about by whose stripes ye were healed he keeps telling me that all this that i'm asking god for is already done i i think you need to just tell two people around you one on each side it's already done whatever you need from him it's already done that that's what this is all about that's what getting up early on the first sunday in every month it's not about whether or not the the bread is stale it's not about tasting the grape juice because that's all we use here now you know [Applause] to see whether there might be a little hint of something in it that's not what it's about it's about the fact that god has already prepared whatever you need my god he was wounded fire transgression bruised for our iniquities chastisement of our peace was upon him and with his stripes we i i just wish you could get it it's it's already done oh my god tell somebody i don't know what it is you need from him but it's already done my god hallelujah yes thank you bless the name of jesus i'm i'm i'm gonna i'm gonna have to cut this off because the more the more i talk about it the more i feel the [Applause] presence of my saving and healing and delivering savior whatever you need from him you notice that that that we don't have but just a little piece of bread [Applause] bread that's cracker whatever it is it's bread it's not about the fact of whether you drink from a common cup everybody have their own individual cup as we do and then throw the cup away that's not that's not what it's about [Applause] hallelujah let me tell you it's only to let you know that everything you need from the lord it's already done and and and i believe that i believe that the reason the reason we don't use but just a little piece of bread the reason we don't have but just uh a few drops of fruit of the vine it wants to remind us of how jesus took the little boy's lunch fed a hungry multitude it don't take a whole lot my god you and we spent all of our time talking about building up my faith i wish you understood that it don't take a whole lot all you got to do is use the little bit you got anybody in here got just just a little bit you know just a little bit of faith oh my god [Applause] i'm go i'm gonna have to turn this loose because when i start thinking about what he did i'm sorry i didn't get past verse one but but they complained and the lord got angry because they complained they complained because they didn't understand the word when we understand the plan of god and he does have a plan for you you're right in the middle of that plan right now i'm not i'm not a cook i never have been but i know one thing they can't get the egg into the bowl until they break the shell and you all messed up now because you're going through the period of brokenness and and and if you haven't ever been broken [Applause] if you haven't ever been broken the egg is still in the shell [Applause] and what you need that'll help you and do you good you can't get to it until you break the shell and and sometimes god would have delivered you months ago but your thing is you know how uh you know i'm i'm uh you know my brothers you're so macho [Applause] until you know you're too much of a man for tear to come but the bible sometimes tells you and especially even the preacher weep between the porch and the altar and and the tears were beginning to flow but you i'm too much of a man for that okay the lord said well let me take you over here i talked a little bit about from the book of daniel and i didn't deal with the heat being turned up [Music] but when a multitude of stuff starts happening to you only thing happening the heat's just being [Applause] oh my god i thought i was through i thought i was on victory side you'll be there but uh you haven't gotten to where god wants you to be yet so he he's turning up the heat [Applause] one more time but my bible says beloved think it's not strange concerning a fiery trial which is to try you as though some you know strange thing has happened you know it'll happen to you it'll happen to me but nothing is happening but god's just letting the heat be turned up stop complaining because everything is in divine order everything is all right and i mean it's all right right now [Applause] [Music] thank you somebody just want to give god some praise in the house i gonna quit i told the saints i believe it was labor day that what wears me out is not preaching but when you're standing before people and from beginning to end the hour and 15 minutes and then you're expected to come back to a second service and do the same thing and and by the way let me say thank every one of you for remembering a few days ago that your pastor did move up another year [Music] and i i really i really hate to leave it at this point but i'm gonna have to i'm gonna have to leave it at this point but i i i'd like i'd like to go on and go on through that chapter but we'll get there but just don't end up [Applause] with those numbers that left egypt but couldn't get to the promised land and the main reason is that word in verse 1 of chapter 11 they [Music] come look look one of your brothers or sisters right in the eye and just tell them don't be a complaining saint [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] you wanna stay up [Music] hey oh yes [Music] [Applause] [Music] yes [Music] me [Music] um [Music] and exchange it [Music] and now gracious and loving heavenly father [Music] we want to thank you for the day that this day celebrates and commemorates oh we don't fully understand your divine plan but one thing about it we are happy and glad that you included us [Music] we don't want to be like those who missed the promised land because of complaining but we want to be your people we want to be able hallelujah and that great day to hear you say servant well done hallelujah bless the name of jesus god we ask that you would sanctify these elements the bread the unleavened bread the cup the contents and what the content represents well we recognize that we were not redeemed with corruptable things like silver and gold but with the precious blood of jesus as of a lamb without blemish today o god we pray that even as we eat of the bread and drink of the cup that whatever is lacking in our bodies and in our minds and in our spirits [Music] that you will make us totally and completely whole thank you lord thank you that one day when we were lost in our sins oh god you found us um sanctified us washed us in your blood filled us with the holy ghost placed us on the highway of holiness and we thank you right now thank you lord thank you lord thank you lord [Music] [Applause] now lord look upon us set us try us know if there be any wicked way in us and if there be any evil a wicked way in us god take it away the least little trait of sin take it away make us what you'd have us to be [Applause] in jesus name and we thank you and we thank you the cup and he gave thanks so as often as you eat of this bread and drink of this cup we do show forth the lord's death until he comes shall we train [Music] foreign [Music] foreign it will never made that confession but you turned away and you know in your heart that you need to come back to the lord this is your opportunity as well hallelujah are you coming that's right give them praise saints hallelujah son of man sin and woman are you coming jesus died for your sins the bible says that ye were brought with a price the blood of jesus he made an atonement for our sins all you have to do is just simply acknowledge them live the life that god wants you to live hallelujah give you just a few more seconds are you coming [Music] don't be shy don't be bashful backslider you want to come if you already say you know that the lord has washed you in this precious blood wash you from sin but you want to join this church ministry this is your opportunity already saved i want to become on a
