here's how I created this animation using a new method called gajan splatting and here's the tools I used I'm sharing this video here because I couldn't find any tutorials on gajan Splats specifically for blender and I thought it could be helpful so gajan splatting is a type of Radiance field it uses these things called Splats that can create photorealistic assets from just a few images if you want to read more about it check out the GitHub page you can find the research paper there while you're there you can also download some sample data and some sample gajan Splats to experiment with to get those photos I flew up my drone into the sky to record a tower in Brooklyn I made sure to get a complete 360 orbit around the tower in order to ensure I got all the data I needed for a proper capture next in Premiere Pro I took this footage color graded it and sped it up in order to turn it into about 250 frames I uploaded these photos photos to polycam in order to create a gajan Splat polycam made this whole process simple instead of me having to train the model myself it's all done in the cloud without any extra work once it was ready I downloaded the py file from polycam then I brought this file into blender via the gajan splatting blender add-on you can find it on GitHub here's a pro tip the plugin Imports nodes stacked on top of each other so I recommend using blender's arrange nodes to make them visible if you don't have this option in blender be sure to enable it in your add-ons after that I customized the not tree generated by the add-on in order to tailor it to my liking and to also add a cool effect that makes the tower appear by using some additional notes then I added the finishing touches to my animation the camera lights smoke particles and most importantly seagull to make everything come alive so here's the completed animation once again I'll be to share some original creative pieces here when the time is right so if that's something you'd like to see be sure to stick around for my creative Journey
