4D Gaussian Splatting

you've heard of gussian splatting now get ready for gussian splatting 2o it's Dynamic how using deformation Fields I'll explain and by the end of this video you'll know why it's a big deal someone once said giian splatting is static it doesn't move therefore it's useless or is it images are static but you can take a bunch of images and play them in sequence that's called a video so what about a bunch of Splats can you play them in sequence no but what you can do is use a deformation field what it's basically a function that takes the original points and moves them over time but wait did you just say function you know what that means I really don't it means you can use an neural network which is how AI works and since the points tend to move together the network can be tiny fast and memory efficient more details in the paper but why does this matter isn't it just a 3D video no well yes but also moving gaussians with neural networks means there's a connection between Ai and 3D which could lead to breakthroughs and self-driving cars robots that can do chores and who knows what else but this is just the beginning and it's all open source so if you want to get involved join the Discord
