today I have a challenge for you I'm going to apply some crazy effects using 10 different nodes in divin resolve Fusion let's have some fun and see how many of these different nodes you can identify in my animations I I tend to use the same nodes over and over again and it gets a little bit old I love trying new things so I wanted to experiment with some nodes that I don't really use quite as much to see how they work and to see if there's some interesting things I can do with them hopefully this is spark some ideas for you as well here's the fun part we're going to keep score points start at 100 and are going to go all the way up to 500 for the last round now I want you to be hon honest keep track of your score and share it in the comments below stick around to the end of the video to learn how to earn an extra 500 bonus points I'm going to include the names of all the top scores in my next video if you enjoy my videos make sure that you like subscribe and comment below I love hearing what you guys have to say and honestly it it really helps the channel are you ready to play good luck let's go round one this note is worth 100 points you think you know what I've used this one a few times it's really useful I probably should use it a little bit more um there's a lot of things you can do with it erod dilate let me show you how this works I set this up with a magic mask but you can really use any kind of masking so we have a mask here and I'm taking that into a white background so we're just creating a white outline and then we're using the aod dilate to shrink and expand the white masked out area and we're merging this in on top of the background and then we're taking the magic mask output and putting it on there and we're putting the white border behind it so we can take this road dilate and shrink and expand it we can make it a lot bigger and then I'm just using a the background node to change the color and we add a little Shadow on it kind of make it pop out a little bit more round two this node is worth 100 points Point values are going to go up as we go through the rounds um I don't think I've ever used this one it's really interesting effect I think there's some other things you can do with it besides this look here so I'm going to play around with it and see what else I can uh it for okay highlight node we can just have some settings in here it puts these little stars on things you can adjust the threshold play with this curve here adjust the star length as well as the number of points see this little star right up in there and adjust the angle kind of a nice little highlight star reflection effect round three worth 100 points I tried to put an easy one in here for you just take a look at it you can probably figure it out what do you see all right hope you got it and here we have the grid just a simple grid there's a lot of controls here to slide the grid around you can zoom in and zoom out as well as adjust some of the pan tilt and the XY Shear kind of create some interesting looks round four the point values have gone up to 200 points um a little clue on this node is there's another node that does almost exactly the same thing this is a different version version of it you think you know what it is you might have used this one before all right we have the transform node but this is not the default transform node you find right here this is actually the second one in the open effects so if you hit uh control space and search for transform so we have the regular transform that with the XF and then we have the second transform this is what I'm using here it has some options in here that let you adjust the XY position as opposed to having a point you can zoom in and zoom out rotate it has all the same options with the pitch and the yaw can be a little bit easier to use but it also um and here you see I have the the wraparound set you could have it to be uh transparent or you can set it to reflect wrap around play with some Edge softness here a lot of different effects and one of the nice things you can do let me reset this so if you come into the control mode you can pick canvas and you can just kind of slide this thing around and adjust it really easily to create some different uh different perspective effects node number five worth 200 points take a look you think you know what it is there's another node that does this but this one gives you a little bit more control all right the VAR blur node this allows you to take a gradient and use that to blur different parts of the image a different amounts so you'll see that where it's black there is no blur where it's bright white that's where you have the most intense blur so it gives you a little bit more control over where your image is going to be blurred right now I just have have this gradient that's uh right here we have a background gradient going into the Vari blur and that determines where the blur is going to happen so if we uh move this out and put most of the image white it's going to be a lot blurred and we can pull it make it mostly black and you only have part of the image blurred gives you more blur control round six point node this one's a lot of fun I think there's a lot I'm going to be able to do this I'm going to really dive in and see what what I can do with it it's kind of tricky the first thing you think of it may not be that all right I like this one a lot this is the hot spot node hot spot and when you when you first start you just kind of get this white area here but there's some different things you can do with it you can adjust the size strength aspect ratio when you go into these other modes here you got this light one light two and light three they have these extra elements in and you can control those we can set the color on them and adjust the types you can kind of make them circles squares there's a little bit of geometry there you can turn them into some stars and as you move the main hotspot around the other hotpots kind of react to it to create a really interesting look let's go and turn these all on just play around with the different settings here and I just kind of animated this one let's make it a little bit bigger and it's uh I kind of like this one it's interesting round seven point values are up to 250 points um this thing I don't know what I could do with it um it does some weird stuff it's kind of interesting but uh I need to dive in a little bit more and play with it to see see how um to see maybe what I could do I don't know all right Vector Distortion not sure I ful understand this I really want to play around with it a little bit more what you get is you can put this fast noise in which gives you a black and white pattern and as we adjust the pattern that's going to adjust where where the vector Distortion does its job and we can go into the vector Distortion and we can adjust the scale and there's a few other things we got to Glow I need a little dig a little deeper into this one round eight 250 points I like this one a lot I actually made a video using this a long time ago when I first started my channel and I think I need to come back around and use it again um really interesting things you can do with it the plasma node here um there's a lot of different options with this you just kind of got to play around with it to get some different looks and kind of move it around change some of the scaling and then in the color tab there's this option for phase and this is what's going to cycle between the different colors and you can actually cycle each of the colors independently um and all I did is I just animated the size and scale for some of these things to create some different effects I'd used this in some a plasma text effect a long time ago um I'm probably going to try to find something else to do with this it's a just it's an interesting pattern see if we can uh see if we can use this pattern and make something interesting with it round nine this is the last 250 Point note I hope you guys are doing well keeping up and your scores really doing good this one might be a little tricky because it's not in its default form that you think about it I kind of use some other options um because if you dive in there's some Advanced things you can do with this one that you may not find right off the bat all right not sure if you guess this one but it's just the standard vignette you can adjust the uh the softness the size the uh all these different things here and what I did is I change the color for the first thing I was trying to throw you guys off a little bit change the color a bit and then there's this operating mode so you can choose Advanced and once you do that it gives you a lot more options as far as how you want it to be Blended the transparency and then you can change the shape and I you can use triangle Diamond I set it up for a diamond and we'll see if we bring down the softness you see that diamond there and we just do normal just kind of see what's doing then we I just adjusted the size and changed the center position so there just some different things that you can do with the vignette last node this is the big one this is a 500 Point node node number 10 um this one's kind of fun I I've done some videos with this uh with this node before but uh probably could do a lot more with it what do you think it's kind of interesting isn't it and last 500 points grid warp did you get this one basically you set this you put the uh put your media into the grid warp and then you can take it and bend your image around and get it to distort in some really interesting ways you kind of give it up a little bit more control and what I did is I set the grid up I right clicked and then I just said perturb and what that does is it takes each of these points and kind of does a perturb on it and shifts everything around and kind of creates some really interesting Distortion effects you can go into the modifiers and really go crazy with it okay how did you do did you learn anything new how do you get your 500 bonus points well first make sure you like the video comment below with your score for an additional 300 bonus points there's a effect that I use that went from this view into the fusion view I use this for all 10 of the different nodes can you name that node include it in the comments below for an additional 200 points you look at my thumbnail there's a body that's not me put my face on it it's the body of a game show host can you name the game show and the game show host that goes with that body the image is right here 200 bonus points if you can name it I'm going to put all the names of the top scores in my next video so good luck thanks so much I'll talk to you soon got a lot of great stuff coming up very soon I promise [Music]
