FULL-TIME VAN LIFE BEGINS | We're Moving In!

we're Eamon and Bec and for the past three months we've been building our home in this van and while we're not totally out of the construction phase "don't have electricity yet" our apartment rental is up so ready or not it's time to move in I can't wait to live in here with you. Yeah, alright let's pack it up and find a good spot to sleep good morning welcome to our Airbnb where we've called home for three plus months now three plus months though isn't that crazy well it's Sunday we have to move out tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. it is incredible how much we've collected in this time so we've really got to downsize to move back into 80 square feet I know you've been telling me this for you but I think it just hit me you know we're moving out cuz we're out of toilet paper and we haven't got anymore yesterday I started pulling things out of the closet area and organizing trying to do laundry midway through my first load the laundry machine breaks so we're gonna look like terrible air B&B tenants or I don't know it's just the right timing we got to get out of here so I guess clothing is part one oh gosh we've got a crazy kid on our hands nice bud alright Bec I'm done I'm gonna take the rest of the day off see a lot of dresses it's probably more like half my stuff anyways I've got a system down It's more like ninety-nine point nine nine nine nine percent mine which is why I get two drawers in the van get one right grab them for me for anyone wondering this is my grandmother's old coat that Eamon found in my parents basement you've never worn it so I think it should be donated this jacket would be like $500 on Depop so so you're just gonna keep it for the sake of keeping it? I just got to get the perfect occasion you know get invited out to the like hipster rock concert or something and then it's done things for the office things to donate things everything going in the van except for these blankets as I think she mentioned the washing machine was broken but she decided to put it on another load it does not sound good don't lose momentum how much percentage of stuff in the bathroom okay there's that old 80/20 rule huh it always comes back to the the bathroom is probably me but from where I'm sitting I can see your shaver and your toothbrush my fight is an hour I still gotta pack and rush my teeth and take a shower hey Bobby Brown you here to help us move out oh sure what would you like me to do do a few loads up and down yeah okay truck loads or like trunk loads up the place and figuring step one is figuring out the fans work Jim there's so hot okay let's see if we can get the fans working obstacle course in here today oh I'm not sure what the temperature is like where you guys are but here in Toronto we are having unseasonable hot weather it's been 34 degrees Celsius for the past week and it's gonna be like that all summer which is just not very Canadian of us so having fans is the bare minimum and while we don't have our electrical setup Amon is going to install one battery hopefully and just sort of do a temporary solution so we don't sweat our little bums off to too much oh then I gotta find some fuses 30-amp I don't know if that's that's probably oversize but for now connection there's no gun or these fans are folks because if there's 12 volt coming here then there's a problem with the fan the fan is just like the lights where it's actually the positive is the negative negative is positive like the black is the positive cable which in my mind doesn't make any sense but on the standardized and make all block mm-hmm so I think it's just got to be switched dummy all right so we'll just switch those up and hopefully we're okay let's cross our fingers again folks cross our toes cross the toes Eco pose I heard a noise oh I've got movement yeah baby crank that soldier boy ah seriously Home Depot with my wife yeah hold on people with my wife yeah I'm not even sure what I'm doing here how did I get sucked into this years old we have ourselves a list of things that will make moving into the van much easier like little hooks for our mugs and I don't know what else are we even here for I think backs over this we saw I go check my list I think so ah we slept in we got two hours joke out we nice look Amon slept it trip number one spices pillows kitchen well we haven't even done these two boxes okay Rick number four and final trip the frigerator Costco jam that buddy said I couldn't get through then I got and I'm almost halfway down I made a rooibos chai iced Oh nice cold brew yeah huge when some lunch vegan a fresh Parmesan cheese this little fridge trip tamari pickled beets that we never opened no we all the beanie means wool fire you need thanks for everything mm-hmm great three months part one is complete we've got all this stuff at the office and now we need to fit it in the van oh boy this stuff adds up this is kitchen kitchen kitchen clothing clothing after yesterday's Fiasco up the two of us going out to the meat bo I've decided to run some errands by myself today I was going to put my clothing away in the van and I realized I really need some storage oh it's pretty dark sorry the sun's behind us I realized I needed some storage bins and I think IKEA has got some that are just right but before we go shopping we've got a return and this is the return line salt line was about an hour and a half they have this cool sanitation tent now I'm here to return and then shop not sure there was ever such a thing as a quick trip to Ikea but three hours later hi I'm back with goodies alright excited very time to see how this all looks and works and functions in here well because that's for like cashews and almonds well like it I really hope this works cleaning that would be very good for organizing my clothes that'll work right right away no sorry for letting wait till you see this why no I'll here with the Squa everybody trying to go at a party Milwaukee but this has got to be the best day ever so some of your probably wondering just like Bob came in what on earth is all this stuff this is our accessories for the outside of the van we've got a roof rack front bumper side strap and ladder and I don't know so we want to give a massive thank you to our friends at aluminous they've been supporting us basically since day one you've probably seen the back boxes that we got from them and now all of this kit the roof rack is amazing because like said it's going to hold the solar but also a little bit more storage for some other things to strap a bag and then the side steps we've never had that that'll be sweet that'll be huge when your feet your feet are muddy and you want to just jump in the band you can bang them off they're different guys but overall I think the main reason I'm excited is because this band is just gonna look so good it is more than safe to say that I've lost aimin for the afternoon probably going to try to install the roof track do all those things well we should be moving in but that's okay I'm gonna start by organizing the kitchen area beginning with this utensil tour I can make moving in just as fun as installing the roof rack well here's how it's looking so far we've got cutlery cooking utensils and towels Beauty I'm also gonna move our running shoes into our shoe storage area whoa they don't smell so hot well that about max that the shoe storage area but at least we used up that area for something rather than nothing this super adorable mirror just finally arrived as well I'm not sure I think maybe should go up there that's just the hook for our shower but maybe if we move it a little more Center over this it's a nice height for me because I'm nice and tall I also picked up two things that we absolutely loved and used all the time in Trinity these are the IKEA flexible cutting boards and this is the Clausen which is the collapsible colander strainer whatever you want to call it which is just awesome for in the van that and then when you want to use it now my vision for this top-drawer is to actually put all my skincare and things that I'll need easy access to when I'm getting ready for bed or waking up first thing in the morning let's load her up I am admittedly going all over the place with moving in it's just whatever I see I start working on I got some pillows from Ikea as well and I'm gonna start showing you the color of our linens we went with it's pretty bold I'm not sure still Hey I really wanted to pull out some of like this color it's not exact but pink and white and maybe a little bit of accent of orange as you can see that sort of a theme throughout the man I've also gone ahead and claimed the cubby beside the bed I'm gonna be putting my head scarves my brush my hair tools essential oils Palo Santo sort of like my little corner just as I suspected a man is keeping himself very busy he's gone and picked up what do we call this a cherry picker yeah you're picking cherries and lifting up roof racks you gonna get in the bucket no maybe Bob will have you gonna get in the fuck plan no we're gonna we're gonna move this over there then we're gonna strap up the front section dude drop it in bolt it down second section doo doo doo doo drop it in bolt it down will be having slices of watermelon 2 4 4 5 now you shouldn't be operating this without a license kids oh yeah there's a boom baby there's a boom somebody serious has to go in that thing if you've ever wondered what it's like to live and worship Amon that was it in a nutshell he doesn't tell you what's happening and then all of a sudden you're in a big old match and then it always works out so you can't really get mad at him I don't know it's just madness probably should have done this first pose too excited so these need to go on the roof rails so these just slide in and then it's important that you put this little coupe because it's stainless steel and they might seize and then it's very simple the foot just goes right on there and before we put the back part of the roof rack on you want to make sure your ladder if you're doing a ladder brackets are in place these guys first and the maxxair fans fit perfectly as well as a little shower fan cut out I'll introduce you guys listen to me Rebecca Boone he's modest guys but this is the best sprinter mechanic and all of thank you to Rana thank you very much Noor cure the world I don't know my friend possibly the world North in there I'm trying I'm trying back to the roof rock rock number two when your only challenge time - the cárdenas July without you in no going somewhere new I the roof rack has been mounted now a piece of advice which I wish I knew beforehand is when they send you a 170 roof rack it's in two pieces and it's better to put it all together and then put it on the roof didn't know that so now that it's on the bolts are a little bit tricky to get your hand under there but anyway stoked and Becca is working on the bed and the interior what do you think of that pink bed man whoa that's really pink no I'm just kidding I love it fitting all my clothes in here I just like to snap my fingers and show you or you want to go through the whole process with me or what are you thinking working super hard spell you can hear him tapping away so I'm gonna put away his clothes I'm gonna give him the better of the drawers because I'm gonna take more of the drawers so I think that's pretty good I'm not typically the kind of life partner who would order food and eat without the other one but I am super hungry yes can you show you one thing yes I guess I'm not eating either we're way down the bed quickly throw on the ladder and then I don't know if we'll get the bumper and the nerf bars on let's see the ladder is pretty simple it takes three little screws at the bottom and then two bolts at the top we'll get that tighten up all right Bob get up there test it out man oh he's going all the way the two sections needed to be attached beforehand so the only way I can do that is using extender Bob the 90-degree allen and you can go in that way and Chris the bolt and then I have to vice grip this thing and then it'll apply pressure on the bottom of the roof rack and then hopefully definitely unexpected day wasn't planning on installing all that but I'm happy we are just want to take a second and big thanks to Bob by the way yes he is my dad and look at this legend chopping up all the cardboard you guys are a big fan of Bob give the video smash thumbs up and yeah Bob's just cleaning up and I got to play with my new new toys all day thanks dad you're a legend I'm just up here enjoying the sunset obviously if I didn't mention it before a massive thank you to aluminous and their base of San Diego will link them up below they make all types of accessories for sprinters transits pro masters you name it and the quality of the stuff you get from aluminous is unmatched hopefully we'll be able to explore some some placer places them is but for now this is pretty great multi passing with the head hold huh I could also use those gas struts from yeah would have been good if you use gonna make a mess mm-hmm nearly six hundred thousand subscribers and we're still wiping down the shower we were planning on making like a move-out vlog and turn it into an aluminum roof rack install but I wouldn't change it for the world I am washed my feet up real nice then put some socks on then my sandals set my feet are clean for bed are you gonna do the same mr. disgusting feet it's not part of the regulations this is the regulations it's clean sheets clean we also don't have electricity yet so my only light is this candle light hey bud what are you doing sitting in the dark why did you do that same thing with the fan yeah it's just it's just jumped on the batteries yeah baby you can do matches too I love it - I'm so
