today on the real it's the mother of all shows as we celebrate mom with a special mom slasher featuring our moms as long as you do not betray my trust then an unbelievable Nursery makeover and that's not all we're making over one lucky mom is getting a much needed transformation [Music] [Applause] hi everyone we're about to start the show but first meet Kendra she's a mom of three who wrote in asking us to get her out of her busted clothes well Kendra you are seconds away from getting that wish are you ready to go through the reels makeover experience oh my gosh thank you guys so much I'm so grateful for this opportunity amazing our Glam Squad is waiting to get started so we're going to send you backstage and we're going to start the show Deal Deal all righty let's do this start the show Matt [Applause] foreign [Applause] all right so this Sunday is a pretty big day it's a day where we celebrate the women who gave us life oh my God I love I love that the women who cared for us who are always there for us and today we're dedicating our entire show to all the amazing moms out there it's the real Mother's Day all right we're joined today by some incredible moms in our audience you guys look amazing beautiful so we thought because of the occasion we'd invite a few familiar faces of our own these special women have traveled far and wide to join us today and we want to give them a proper introduction stop all the way from the Lower East Side of Manhattan please welcome my nuyorican mama herself Nilda come on out here Mommy thank you you got it you look gorgeous she's ferocious fabulous and my best friend in the whole wide world please welcome mama foreign this special special lady has taught me everything that I know honey she's raised six kids and she's still snatched and beat for them [Applause] and let me tell you something right here right now she makes the most delicious mayonnaise biscuits you'll ever have in your life everybody please welcome my mama Miss Evelyn Braxton foreign [Applause] and so I have something special I want to show everyone my mom the one and only Mama love wanted to deliver a special message to you ladies and our viewers all the way from Detroit because she wasn't flying here she don't know [Applause] this is Mama love I wish everybody a Happy Mother's Day and I'm sorry I couldn't be there but I'll see everybody soon and I want everybody all over the world to have a very very happy Mother's Day a special shout out to my cousin Vanessa for doing the backdrop and the hair and the makeup [Applause] all over the world [Applause] and you guys my mom Miss Darlene wanted to send her love as well she left me you guys the sweetest voicemail take a listen and you know I will be there but I want to call you and wish you a happy Mother's Day I'm just so proud of you and I'm getting emotional right now but I'm so proud of you just to watch you and to see you how you've grown to be this wonderful beautiful mother I love you sweet and uh Happy Mother's Day [Applause] you're not son yeah girl's gonna be a long show you better put some tears up do that I promise it won't try [Applause] this is your first Mother's Day with my baby Ariah I'm so excited about it and she and her big brother wanted to send you some love now heads up to enter interpret Ariah was saying with her eyes take a look oh my goodness say Happy Mother's Day Mommy happy Mother's Day Mommy happy birthday to Mommy [Music] oh my God and eternal kindness [Applause] she couldn't even keep her eyes open to read the interpretation just the music alone in my baby's face did it oh my God yeah every time um well happy Mother's Day I know oh [Applause] you know what now that we have the beautiful women at the table it's time to turn the tables and give you a chance to respond to all the embarrassing stories your daughters have told about you this season doing girl chat yeah we're gonna get the tears away and we're gonna start laughing cause it's time for the Mother's Day clap back yeah oh take a look at this clip of protective Adrian figuring out a master plan of yours oh gosh my mom I know she would have checked everything I know she checked everything she checked all my drawers I knew Mommy I know wait Yahoo like my mom was the one that was like I just think you should keep a journal she's a big Journal keeper but I know why she was giving me that journal welcome she wanted me to write in it so she could check to see what I was writing wow so what I would do was sometimes I would I would write crazy stuff no just when she read it I would one write crazy things to see if she read it and then two right things I wanted her to read like today I prayed for my mother because my mother is a good mother were you secretly spying on your daughter is that true is it true yes absolutely absolutely not only her sister too right yeah two of them I don't believe in close store policy but why don't you believe in it tell them why um I just don't believe in it I do [Applause] no at the time computers were coming were popular became popular the computer was in the living room there no way [Applause] I wasn't allowed to have a phone in my room I'm not mad at that I'm not okay Miss Evelyn you're up next uh-oh it seems like your daughter Tamar is on the hunt for a new Step day oh I am check it out y'all know I've been looking for a step daddy for about five years now yeah anybody who's 60 and up I'm here for it come on holler at me I want you to be my daddy I'm getting hope alive for my mama because she's a great woman she can cook she ain't cleaning up after you though but you know she likes to go out she's beautiful she's adventurous she got a job won't he do it she's very picky she is but we've tried young we try even we haven't tried 27 year old oh how did that work out yeah she said he had milk behind his ears [Applause] have you found any fine eligible bachelors yet who are worthy of you well not yet not yet not yet okay you know and Tamar need to stop pushing me and she said I'm slow picky she said I'm too picky what Tamar do you know what she's looking for what are you looking for I don't know honey I feel like we done gave her like each you know each different man that you know that's available in the United States or all over the world she don't like nobody what are you looking for Miss Evelyn well I'm looking for someone that have integrity okay that's yeah that's good [Applause] an attractive man because she's going to get used to his unattractiveness and start thinking he's cute and people around her is going to think that she think he's cute but she doesn't really think he's cute but she's just used to them that's true exactly don't that sound crazy unattractive when you meet them they're still unattractive you just have acquainted with their face no tree Moss no all right now Gene tea yes now you ain't off the hook just yet y'all we forget all right we're going to continue with our Mother's Day clap back now mama ma check out this Clipper Genie and how you dealt with this very disrespectful driver I was taking my mom to Topanga Candy mall we were both in the car yeah I turned to find a parking space and there's one on the right I put on my blinker to turn in this woman comes barreling down the illegal side of the road and feels my spot almost hitting me Mama Mike comes out so she knocks carefully she goes excuse me excuse me she said my daughter and I waiting here we wait for a few minutes and then you come wrong way you don't do that anymore the woman opens her door oh we gotta get okay and she says what the are you saying can you speak English no I'm not yet for it no yeah can you speak English no I told you to move push my mom like a Karate Kid out the door so she writes Karma on a note and slaps it on her gas tank so that the lady thinks that we did something to her gas tank uh-huh and so she wrote it karma what that with the happy face that you put it on the thing the only thing is she spelled karma karma c-o-m-m-a [Applause] it on the face gets me complete life that is hilarious it's the drivers get what they deserve what happened was I guess so she deserves you know put on this show and even they don't speak English well but I write better than her yeah [Applause] I remember one day that day uh genius is so mad oh my God you cannot believe it she turned around mom don't talk to me I'm shaking right now I'm shaking all right I can't even ride my I'm shaking I get better I can punch her I'm so mad her face look grouchy so like a devil right kill that lady right okay certainly two girls oh Genie from the real they ran off oh my God Genie turned around 180 degree Hi how are you face [Applause] everybody [Applause] another day and as we celebrate all that moms everywhere have done for us we also need to think about the moms to be since life leading up to a new baby can be a stressful time we're making it our mission to do whatever it takes to help one very special mom to be this is real to the rescue foreign we heard from a pregnant couple that is down on their luck they both recently lost their jobs and with a baby on the way the burden of making their baby's nursery was really weighing them down I went with Aiden and ariah's Nursery designer Shelina Smith to lift this couple's spirits up and make the next chapter in their story just a little bit sweeter take a look hi I'm April and I'm Dan and I'm currently four months pregnant this is our little girl along with this wonderful news we've also got a bit of bad news along the way uh Dan lost his job in December April just lost her job as well getting a nursery makeover would just mean a great deal to us putting us back on the right track so please please please bring us some good news and pick us through the nursery makeover [Music] April and Dan have no idea that we actually picked them and guess who's with me not just any interior designer my go-to designer shalina Smith thank you so much I'll see you soon [Music] congratulations you guys are gonna get a nursery that's why I'm here the real is going to book you guys up [Applause] this is just the beginning so you have to show me the room oh wow it's so great yeah this is the space um right now it's just a guest room that we're hoping to turn it into a nursery well it's it's a great space you definitely can add like a little playroom and you will be living in here a lot especially during the first six weeks I'm a mom I've had two nurseries decorated for me by my personal interior designer she is amazing and guess what you guys one more surprise chelina Smith is here she's right outside your door shalina come on [Applause] I'm so excited for you guys I cannot wait to transform this room into a beautiful nursery for your little girl thank you Dan in April as well as Nursery designer shalina Smith the only one who has seen the finished Nursery I haven't even seen it I'm so excited Dan in April we put you up in a hotel while shalina was working her magic are you guys ready to see the nursery so my God check it out [Music] the nursery was obviously inspired by ariah's nursery and um I was able to personalize it by using some of Dan and April's pieces and that were already in the room like their bookcase and then of course to personalize it I put photos of themselves I think it was maybe your engagement and use some of their fun stuffed animals and children's books that you guys already had so beautiful it's so cute you did such an amazing job thank you I think we know that the first few months can be tricky we are also hooking you up with a baby care package bring it out guys amazing so excited thank you guys so much gonna save you some walking time right there and your baby's gonna love that thing Logan fell asleep yes sleep all day almost 24 hours in that thing I think it's amazing yeah Jenny you should have a baby okay so what's Mother's Day Without Mama's cooking now even though this is her day off if your mother is anything like my mama you know she still wants to take part in the food process yes God so please join me and my mom as we make her famous never before seen mayonnaise [Applause] cooked it [Music] [Applause] I can't wait for y'all to try these these are my favorite this is Logan's favorite it's everybody's favorite okay my favorite yeah all right so this is what we're gonna do to get started we're gonna start with two cups of self-rising flour you have to remember self-rising flour another flower ain't gonna get you there okay you put that in the bowl and then you want to add the stuff as I tell everybody okay let's switch okay and so then you add a half a cup of mayonnaise we gotta put the flour to the side show us show us so this is how you do it yeah you kind of separate it from the bowl like this right right so as you add it we're gonna add this this mayonnaise real fast well well really the sugar is first oh yeah I forgot about the sugar but this was first it was in my view okay so three tablespoons of sugar oh Gloria mix the sugar together uh with the flour thank you now we add the mayonnaise okay let's activate one there okay now we just added the mayonnaise okay so so then you don't you mix that together and then you put okay this is a cup of water but we're going to add the water a little by little you don't want it to runny that ain't cute turn into glue all right slowly so slow just a little at a time okay so we don't want it to be real like right a little bit more just a little bit more yeah what you're going to do you're going to have an extra cup of flour on the side just in case you put too much water in it and so you can save your batter okay now we don't need any more no we don't okay okay now oh where's the pan so you're gonna get you a grease all your pan I spray my pants I do too I do too then what you're gonna get you can get your ice cream scoop okay so you can release the dough okay so what you gonna do you're gonna take it you scoop it oh that's smart and you can kind of feel the scoop up and that's how you know what size biscuits you have yeah right so you can do that nice down right until you really easy you don't want them to touch right okay now unless you want to build a muscle man that's not the movement okay so what we're gonna do we're going to put this in the oven at 350 degrees in a convection we like convection but before we put it in the oven oh yeah that's right I'll be forgetting stuff I don't know what's wrong with me me either okay well still tell them mama what you do you take a whisk and then you put that what you do yeah you want it nice and brown and beautiful okay okay so then after she done beat the egg and put the egg on top of the dough right I'm gonna put it in the oven in for 20 minutes just 20 minutes guys at 350 degrees and when they die I promise you I promise it should come out looking just biscuits in 20 minutes [Applause] I Like Biscuits with my butter oh my gosh look at God look at all the blood [Applause] it's Mother's Day and in honor of all the good advice and hard truths mothers have given us over the years we're doing something special today at the Reel here to give their advice are three women who have raised the strongest funniest kindest this is really hard to say ladies we know those three over there it's time to sit with me y'all for moms are you ladies ready to give your motherly wisdom yes we are of course all right let's get started okay Crystal come on down here okay where are you from and what's your situation I am from Palmdale California okay and I have a 13 year old daughter and a 14 year old daughter I wanted to know what would be an appropriate age to allow a boyfriend oh not that I wanted to but the question is Miss Evelyn I didn't allow my kids to date until they were 16 years old good answer but wait but wait we're living in a different time now yeah that sounds good on paper however the peer pressure is extremely powerful now yes and so um I wouldn't call it a boyfriend but I would allow them to talk on the telephone which is a good thing because when they go to school they like to brag just like the other girls or just like the other guys you know hey I talked to Julie last night and blah blah blah on the phone and sometimes they want to go to the movies you just chaperone take them to the movies for God [Applause] trust you but as long as you do not betray my trust you can talk on the phone I will take you to the movies and if there's a dance at school I will take you to your dance yes and bring them back home [Applause] I'm thinking it's Asian style okay finished high school you are 18 years old that's number one and the second one take check out the parent it's a good family or not oh yep the third one if he wants to have a she wants to have a boyfriend five go out with him but holding hand only no kissing [Applause] he sounds like my mom what do you think I think of a maturity uh you know your child yeah you know your daughters um and so you have to put that into a into perspective as well so I believe that if you instill values in your child they're gonna know they're gonna know the right thing yeah at the beginning of the show go we introduce you to Kendra she's a wife mother of three and co-director of a company that works with special needs adults since she's on call 24 hours a day she rarely has time for herself which has made her self-conscious about her appearance I think that definitely calls for a makeover right [Applause] [Music] let's find out a little more about Kendra take a look at this hi my name is Kendra Oliver and I really need your help I am a mother of three and I work full-time hours and it's clear that I need a makeover these are one of my favorite work pants as you can see the button is missing belt with is broken and I hate to even admit there's a hole my favorite nighttime attire I've had it since the ninth grade and they two have holes in this but my very favorite t-shirt of all time this right here so comfortable I just have a really hard time uh letting go of it so if there's anything you guys can do to help me out I would love your assistance because this mommy really needs a makeover as you can see Kendra is stuck in a fashion rut and a mommy makeover is just what we're prescribing our clan Squad rushed to the rescue to help Kendra get her groove back Micah B is on hair Duty feeding that face is Lindsay Callaway and our stylist Oakley Stevenson is hi Rashad you've been married to your wife for eight years yes a good woman yes he is okay how are you feeling right now about seeing your wife oh I'm so ecstatic I just want to see her right now really okay like before now since all of the mirrors were covered in her dressing room guys this is going to be the first time she's seen herself I can't wait any longer so Kendra come on out baby foreign [Applause] color and I feel just like a diva yeah Michael the hamster well what made you do this wanted to give her a fresh new cut and great highlights for her skin tone really really looks great it looks amazing and Lindsay her makeup is fly so how did you create this look wow I wanted to go with an old Hollywood glam look and give pair with a beautiful lash and pop it with a red lip with a little bit of orange in the middle okay Oakley she looks so cute in this what was your inspiration behind this look well for Kendra's makeover today I wanted to do this cut out laser crochet style it seems to be trending everywhere for spring and then I chose this specific dress for her because of the shade of red it's so perfect on her complexion wow now Rashad you haven't stopped smiling since you saw your wife what do you think whose wife is this [Applause] let's see what we are gawking over honey because you are beat for the gods ciao go to the mirror check yourself out well
