FULL BODY TRACKING ON QUEST 3 - BUILT-IN!

we just got full body tracking on the quest 3 using its onboard camera sensors to track your body and in order to unlock this full capability of the quest 3 we do need an application called virtual desktop it's $20 and it's already worth it you should have this application already but if you don't you can actually get 25% off with my link in the description so what you're going to want to do is follow the instructions on the virtual desktop Discord Link in the description and when you go there just follow the steps uh for me and virtual desktop I just had to download the streamer app with uh the beta version and then for the quest you're going to want to go on your mobile phone and then just go scroll down till you find versions and then you click on it and then you can switch it to the beta version from there you update it in your headset and then you're good to go update it on your computer and boy is it incredible enough rambling let's just jump straight into virtual desktop wo so if you followed all those steps correctly and when you open Virtual desktop it should say 130.3 that means you're on the beta version so everything works uh great from here you're going to want to go to streaming and then just make sure you have forward tracking data to PC set and then select emulate steam VR Vive trackers later in the video we're also going to show you the emulate uh index controllers for the hand tracking which is really cool cuz it also works with the quest Pro face tracking and hand tracking at the same time which is actually pretty cool to make sure run smoothly just open VR chat through virtual desktop it'll take you through Steam VR and everything will run perfectly all right so here we are with the full body tracking on the quest 3 using its Standalone cameras um pretty sick fluid movements we got elbow tracking so if I do this uses the cameras to track your elbows usually elbows are estimated with the controllers but now you can be really you know you can stretch in VR you know kind of move your shoulders a little bit you can roll your shoulders which is pretty cool um look at that elbow tracking who who would have thought who would have thought boom here's what's cooler you can actually put your controllers down and now it's tracking literally everything which is awesome so all all it is is a headset now and just my hands right so now I can you know do normal stuff obviously if you put your hands too far down they disappear but the fact that it's tracking your hands now the valve knuckles I haven't turned those on cuz that tracking going to just walk around this is all in Virtual desktop so there's no need for a wire I'm clipping through that but yeah this is freaking full body this is full body tracking with just the headset trackers just these two little rinky dinky cameras and then whatever okay that looks a little fruity there but yo dude like holy this is this is crazy full body tracking essentially you know it's not perfect it's not perfect it's not perfect right but you know you can do your your stuff do your little right let's let's sit yo how good is that working I'm freaking sitting yo hold up oh this is sick yo full body tracking so you got full body tracking from the headsets cameras using your upper body but the rest is AI let me try laying down interesting interesting result it can't do sideways like standable can but that's not bad that's I noticed someone else also tested bending over which apparently um you can't do normally so like you can bend over look at your legs on the normal VR it doesn't really do that so like you can bend like looking down where's my glasses where did I put my glasses so that actually is cool to me it's the fact that this just looks so good and it's just running on Steam VR you know normally just chilling um again if you want to compare it there we go welcome to VR chat right again if I if I bend over you see it doesn't really work um yeah oh can't oh this is this is so realistic oh I forgot how amazing VR chat their rig system was wow uh let me turn that back on Jesus hell oh god look man for just for buying virtual desktop this is incredible man now let's emulate the Vive trackers check this out index all right so what's cool is that you can also emulate the valve Knuckles here you go and it's actually pretty cool it's not the Standalone like finger tracking that you get on Quest but it's still pretty good and pretty smooth right fists doom doom doom one 2 3 4 5 it's pretty sick uh you know that's cool and this is on a quest three just running virtual desktop I can look at my own hands I got slight shoulder and elbow tracking I mean this is sick you can also do this on the quest Pro so you can have face and eye tracking with hand tracking oh yeah if you get your hands Too Close you just lose overall tracking there it is but if you keep your hands relatively you know in front of you you're good overall what do I think about this I mean the fact that I'm just on my headset and it all looks just this fluid and this is just like the beginning like imagine the future guys imagine the future this is sick I
