[Music] hello everybody Welcome to the channel today I'm going to test out FSR 3.0 frame generation this is a mod created by Luke FZ but in order to download this mod you need to be on his patreon but I'll test it out and if you like what you see you can go over and support him so the first game I'm testing out is Hogwarts Legacy this is without the mod so we'll check out the settings first let's go into settings I'm using recommended settings for the graphics so Global quality preset I set it to recommended but it's all medium I think it's all medium and for the display I'm using the upscale FSR 2 and I'm using fsl2 balance all right so nothing special here I've got chro utilities on recommended settings with 4 gig um vram and here I've just got you know frame limit 60 FPS yeah nothing special here um in power tools smt on eight threads Governor is performance all right nothing special okay and I'm at hog Hogs me okay so one of the harder places to you know run for this game so I'm getting like 30ish frames in hog me with these settings so yeah pretty normal pretty normal and let's go on the broom and go into the Overworld let's fly around I can't fly here okay now I can yeah so I'm getting like 30ish 40 frames I think sometimes no yeah 40 sometimes 40ish so pretty normal right and then I'm going to install the mod so I go back to desktop mode and install the mod and I'll test it out again with the same settings so I'm not going to change the settings I'm just going to test it out again so you'll see you know what's going on all right so I'll see you back in desktop Ado let's just get started so I've got the mod right here okay so Luke FZ mods okay I've downloaded right here there's a read me right so open the read me and you need to check the compatibility for your games okay so I've opened the link right here and since I'm going to test it on Hogwarts Legacy I'm going to highlight this one Hogwarts Legacy and it is supported but it does say it has some problems so I hope that gets fixed soon the installation is regular and the version is 2 2 Z right so you need to know this because we need to locate our game folder so mine's a steam game so I'm going to go to home and click the three lines here all right I can't see my camera's in the way okay so here okay so click the three lines here make sure show hidden files this is checked go into your hidden folder do steam theme theme apps compact data no we're not going to compact data we're going to Common so these are where your game folders for your Steam games are stored so hogwats Legacy is here and my hogwats legacy exe is right here okay so since it's version I'm going to use this version 0.7.1 and because it's a 220 I'm going to use this file okay and then just drag all these files over okay and then in the read me it does say for steam you also need to copy the another file okay so we need to copy this file uh the dxvk doc config file okay so I'm going to copy this oh just drag it I'm going to drag it to the root of my game folder a copy of version here so dxvk do config all right you need that as well and then we need to because we've got this do we're going to run this D we need to add the wine um D override win mm do so just copy this uh it's in the read me I'm going to copy the command for the launch option copy okay then go to your steam go to library search for your game so hogwart's Legacy is right here I'm going to go inside the properties and for the launch option I'm just going to paste that code so wi D overrides equals win mm native um built-in command all right so I'll leave this command in the description if you want to copy it or you can just go to the read me file okay now it's done now it's done we can go back to gaming mode so I'll see you in gaming mode okay so welcome back to my steamex gaming mode I think we just booted up the game because we've done all the settings in desktop mode there's not much to do here just boot up the game and see oh okay this is new okay I think the mod is activated that reminds me of um Stu Valley when you um install the sppy mod okay so I'm going to boot up the game so we should be in um hogm the same area and I haven't changed any settings so the settings should be exactly the same oh there's some ghosting I think that's the um issue when I check the compatibility list that it has some issues yeah there's some ghosting some G okay let's check the settings make sure that um it didn't okay so Graphics yeah recommended settings and then FSR to yep yep same same settings okay okay so before I was um getting 30 to 40 I think it's like mainly 30 FPS so here I'm getting like 50ish sometimes 60 okay sometimes 40 yeah but yeah overall the performance is improved let's check out the input lag because people say if you have frame generation on you can really feel the input lag uh for me for me I really can't arrest momentum feel no look it feels fine for me feels fine with me it's just the ghosting so I hope they iron this out I'm pretty sure it's pretty like it's a new thing like it only became open source recently and I think modders are working on it so yeah let's get on our broom get on our broom and take a look yeah in the open world I think yeah we're getting 50ish pretty good pretty good it's just that the ghost thing that's the only issue for this game I think like I guess you'd have to like test it out more thoroughly I'm just like giving you a a glimpse of what we can achieve and you know you might want to like prepare yourself like get famili on how to install these mods because I'm sure more and more of these mods will be coming out for different games so like games that didn't really run too well on the steam deck might run well with mods like this so you might as well get familiar on how to install it and how to run it you know use the method that I just showed you but normally you just follow the read me you know the the creators of the mods they they'll tell you how to install it so you don't really need me I'm just showing you you know how it performs with frame generation FSR 3.0 yeah not bad but this the first game I'm testing I'm sure I'll be
