Fruit of the Spirit (Galations 5:22-23)

praise God you may have your seat and it's my privilege and honor as I shared with you last week I'm sorry I did not plan on having this preaching break for this long I thought it'd just be one Sunday but as God keeps moving in our ministry and as God keeps bringing people who have blessed my life out of love for you because I love you as a pastor when I meet people that bless my life so much I want you to experience that love and blessing and so that's why we've had the guest speakers that we've had the past couple weeks and I did say last Sunday I said it on purpose I said Lord willing we'll start a new series today and it is because we want to follow God's Way not our way amen and God has been doing a mighty mighty work in this ministry amen God has been healing God has been bringing deliverance to people out of years if not decades of oppression God even this past year already got his healed cancers tumors leukemias and other sicknesses allergies and as we mentioned for the past coming months we've been sensing on our staff that it was preparation for something and this past weekend through our miracle Crusade and fire crusade God met us in a powerful powerful powerful way and I want to give God all the glory for that but God does choose to use his servants it is all God it is all his power it is all his glory but when he sees a heart that loves him that is consecrated it to him and says God Here I am use me Here I am son Here I am I love you and God if you want to bless people with your love through me here I am and we have a servant who has that heart today in andreas busoni and God has been using him to bless the nation's not only with miracles and displays of his power above all else God has been healing hearts with the love of God through this man and as I've just spent just a few days with him I feel like he has a brother I've known for many many years because we share the same spirit and same love and I know that he loves God he loves the spirit he loves Jesus Christ and so that is why it is our privilege to have him with us today so with hearts open and with hearts filled with prayer why don't we welcome Andre Smithsonian comes up today god bless you're gonna visit let's give Jesus a hand now giving him all the Lord here's the one who the surgery Alleluia wow what an awesome privilege to be with you this was not Glenn this is a god thing amen which is supposed to be doing the miracle crusade and the fire conference last night but I believe the Lord had more for us and I'm so glad to be here with you this this with jet like I don't even know what day it is what what hour it is I don't think are we in the morning on the afternoon afternoon but uh today actually has been one of the best days of my life I want to tell you why it's just a short story pastor and Eddie and us and I just went to see dr. Jung Cho and we had the privilege to meet him and he actually prayed for us so I'm on fire you know he's a man that I admire looked up for many years and just the tremendous servant of the Lord and like God used to bless this nation in such a powerful way and for us to be able to meet him and spend a few minutes with him it was just a tremendous blessing with for us you know God uses men to impart the knowning of the Holy Spirit on your lives the Bible says very clearly you know that Moses laid his hands on Joshua in the spirit of wisdom that was upon Moses came upon Joshua the Bible speaks about Elijah and Elijah and Elijah saying you know when a double portion of the anointing that's upon your life and he grabbed a mantle and then he received a double portion and the doubled of amounts of miracles that were done in the life of Elijah were done in the life of Elijah we see the same thing happened with Paul and Timothy is scriptural you know that God imparts an anointing on life when men and women of God pray for you so to me I received this this afternoon I received it in a I'm going back to the US with great joy in my heart for those of you who haven't been to any of the miracle Crusades or their fire conferences my name is Andres V Soni I'm originally from Argentina South America but I live in Houston Texas I'll be married for four years with the beautiful princess the king of kings and the Lord of lords her name is Janina and together with my son and my future baby daughter that's coming on the way because my wife is pregnant we serve the Lord and we have a great passion and a great desire to go into all the world and share the gospel with everyone you know share it but they won't share with the world the goodness of Christ and the good news that through him and him alone we can receive the gift of eternal life and there's no greater gift that you can receive in this world and receive Jesus Christ into your life and receive eternal life and the Lord transformed my life through an encounter with the Holy Spirit I was going to be a medical doctor I was I already had my dreams I had my satis my life said and I had an encounter with the Holy Spirit and he changed that direction and he called me into the evangelistic ministry so we said yes to the Lord we left everything aside a left medical school I left the things of this world and dedicated my life to serving him and moving traveling to many different countries last year we were in 16 countries sharing the gospel of Jesus this year we're already been in Japan we've been in Mexico several times it's my first time in Korea next week I'm going to be in San Antonio then we go to preaching that revival in Toronto the two weeks from now then we go to Puerto Rico this year we're planning Crusades in Africa and Burundi in Pakistan in France many countries of the world I mean I'm just burning for Jesus you know I just want to I want to burn for him the rest of my life you know and there's no greater purpose or reason for you to be alive than to love him and serve him with all of your life this evening this afternoon I want to speak to you about something a little bit different this whole weekend we've been speaking mostly about miracles I'm speaking about the fire about the noin ting and the power today I want to speak to you about a whole different aspect of the Holy Spirit I want to speak to you about the Holy Spirit but I want to speak to you about a most important aspect which is the fruit of the Holy Spirit we as Christians we need the power of the Holy Spirit there's no excuse for us not to have his power if we want to be witnesses of Jesus he said to these disciples you wait don't do anything until your endued with power from on high and then you will be my witnesses so we need that anointing we need the power of the Holy Spirit we need the gifts of the Holy Spirit in order for us to share the gospel and to be effective witnesses stuff to this world of Jesus Christ but not only that we need also the fruit of the Spirit we need both things in our lives we need the power and we need the fruit if we just have the power we're not gonna last very long what's gonna keep us faithful to the Lord was gonna keep us effective in ministry the long run is if we develop the fruit of the Holy Spirit amen let's go to the Bible and let's go to the book of Galatians galatians chapter 5 verse 16 I say then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh for the flesh lusts against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one another so that you do not do the things that you wish but if you are led by the spirit you are not under the law now the works of the flesh are evident which are adultery fornication uncleanness lewdness idolatry sorcery hatred contentions jealousies outbursts of Wrath selfish ambitions dissensions heresies envyings murders drunkenness revelries and the like of which I tell you beforehand just as I told you in time past that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God but the fruit of the Spirit is love joy peace long-suffering kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness self-control against such there is no law and those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires if we live in the spirit let us also walk in the spirit the most important thing in our lives is the fruit that our lives produce it's not the size of our ministry is not the gifts that we have is not the amount of power that we have what Jesus looks at when he looks at at our lives he looks for fruit the bible says john 15:8 says by this my father is glorified that you bear much fruit so you will be my disciples if you want your life to glorify God in heaven if you want your life while you're here on this earth to bring glory in to God in heaven if you want to be known as his disciples then we must bear much fruit the Bible says the Bible says in Luke 644 for every tree is known by its own fruit the Bible even goes on to say that he is the vine and the father is the vine dresser and every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away and every branch that bears fruit he prunes that he match my bear more fruit when I saw these scriptures I said Lord I don't only want the power of your Holy Spirit I want your power but I also want the fruit of your spirit I not only want to have the gifts of your spirit I don't only want to be used by the power of your spirit but Lord I want my life to bear fruit that brings you glory and I want my life to testify that I am one of your disciples by the fruit that I produce so say the Holy Spirit teach me what I need to do because when I read this list I fall short of it big time now how many of you do - you know there's things there that you know that we all lacking and the Holy Spirit spoke to me two words and he said two things to me the first thing you must do is - you must learn to cultivate the fruit of the Spirit of your own your life and the second thing that you must do is that you must protect the fruit of the Spirit of your life if you want to cultivate the fruit of the Holy Spirit in your life if you want your life to produce love first of all the first thing that the Holy Spirit produces in you is love the greatest sign that you're a person full of the Holy Spirit led by the Holy Spirit is that you have love for others in your heart the greatest sign of revival is not the manifestations but it's the love that is manifested in the people of God the greatest sign that the Holy Spirit is working and moving in a church is when people enter into that place they feel loved like nowhere else in the world a sign that the Holy Spirit is working in your life is suddenly you start feeling compassion for people and start feeling love for people and you don't understand why you start walking down the street and suddenly you feel compassion for the lost you like what's happening to me the Lord is producing love in you he's producing the love of his spirit it's a love that cannot be produced with your own strength is something spiritual that listen to me only the Holy Spirit can produce in your life the next thing the Bible says is joy you know the world looks for happiness and we all look for happiness and we all pursue happiness we want to be happy but the Lord does not offer you happiness what he offers you is joy it's very different than happiness happiness is momentary temporary it depends on the circumstances around your life when you have money you're happy when you're poor you're not happy when you're in the party you're happy when the party's over you're sad but what Jesus offers is joy which is eternal which is spiritual this is something that the spirit produces inside of you you might be going through the hardest times of your life but you still have joy in your spirit the Bible says that in his presence there's fullness of joy and the Spirit of God produces in you something that is hard to describe with words but is joy you know I grew up in a traditional home in a traditional church I come from a Baptist Church so had an idea that God was very serious I had an idea that God was looking at me getting ready to to hit me when I did something wrong I had an idea of God that he was disappointed with me because I made so many mistakes but when I became to get to know the Holy Spirit realized that he was the whole way all the way around he said God full of joy and the sign that the Holy Spirit is in your life by the Holy Spirit in the church he's a church full of joy I'm gonna tell you something the devil is the one who's sad and angry all the time our God is a God of joy and where his presence is there is fullness of joy the next thing is that the Bible says he produces in your life is peace and this is something that you cannot buy with money this is something that alcohol will not give to you there's something that drugs will not give to you there's something that financial security will not give to you and that is peace it's a peace that the Bible says surpasses your understanding is a peace that guards your thoughts and your mind is a peace so great that you go to sleep at night and you can't believe it or understand how you can feel so much peace and you get up in the morning and you have peace and it's the peace that only the Holy Spirit produces in you the next things have to do with your character and these are all things that we all need to work on it and I have some of these to this not just for you guys it is for me too the Bible says is patience kindness goodness faithfulness gentleness and self-control all these things in your life you cannot take a discipleship course and get it you cannot forcefully produce this in your life just like a tree cannot forcefully produce a fruit only the Holy Spirit can produce this character of Christ in you only the work of the Holy Spirit can do that in your life is not your job to do it but it's the spirit's fruit through your life but how do we cultivate this fruit number one we must be filled with the Holy Spirit Ephesians 5:18 says and do not be drunk with wine in which is dissipation but be filled with the holy spirit it's not an option it's not a choice it's a commandment be filled with the Holy Spirit to be filled with the Holy Spirit is not just a one-time experience that you have in your life when you ask people when were you filled with the Holy Spirit they say in 1973 I spoke with tongues that's not what it's all about being filled with the Holy Spirit and continual experience in your life it's like drinking water is like the air that you breathe is something that you need in order to live and surviving the Cris shann walk you must be filled with the holy spirit how can you produce fruit if you don't have a spirit living inside of you filling your life with his glory with his power if you want to be filled with the Holy Spirit you must be thirsty if you're not thirsty he will not fill you we read the verse on the screen today Jesus said he stood up on the last day of a feast after they had tried everything and the people were still empty they had tried dancing drinking they had tried sex they had tried everything in the last day the party was over and they were still empty and Jesus stood up and said if anyone of you thirsts if you thirst number one there's only one condition you must first then come on to me come to Jesus and he said and I will give you to drink living water he said are you innermost being will flow rivers of living waters like the scripture saying what is Jesus talking about is the presence of the Holy Spirit if you're not thirsty you're not gonna be filled if you're not hungry you're not gonna be filled this is what I love of approaching Latin America people are thirsty and hungry for the presence of God and therefore God pours out his spirit and pours out revival because he comes only where he's welcome he comes only where he's desired he comes only where there's people who are really hungry and thirsty for him you know when I was in college in the US I play soccer in college how many you like soccer here I know in Korea you just had the World Cup Argentina I know soccer is a big thing like we grew up playing soccer since were we played soccer before we can walk so I was I was playing at the University and we had an English coach and English people have a different idea of soccer than what are we Argentinians do you know they really don't know much about soccer view with it if there is any I'm just kidding if any English people here okay but the thing is this coach will make us run and run and run and run all practice and we will just run and run in the Texas heat and he will make us do sprints and sprains and sprains or run around the field we almost didn't even touch the ball but at one point we were running it was so hard we were so tired he will blow his whistle and he would say water break and when he said that all of us no matter how tired we were we will run to this big thing and this yellow thing that we had full of water and we were running the first person who got there got to drink clean water the second one got their saliva the first one plus the water the third one more if you get their last you've just got a little bit of water but the thing is you're so thirsty you don't care that saliva is the most delicious saliva you ever drink in your whole life and that water is so delicious that you don't care who was there before you just drink it and you desperate more and you enjoy it and it just fills you and he's the most delicious water you ever drink because you're thirsty same thing happens with the presence of God if you're just normal Christianity if you just if you're if you're satisfying the way you spiritual life is if you're just satisfied with going to heaven and being saved if you just satisfied with going through the motions that's not gonna feel you he's not gonna feel you he's not gonna force himself on you but if you say God I am thirsty I want more of your presence I want to be filled with your Holy Spirit I want to experience the fullness of your glory I want my life to produce fruit I want my life to bring you glory I want always to see that it's a change and a real change in me fill me with your Holy Spirit I promise you he will fill you coz the promise is unto you and to your children to all those who are far off to as many as the Lord our God should call the next thing we must do not only be filled with the Holy Spirit but the Bible says we must abide in in the spirit we must live in the spirit Galatians 5:25 says if we live in the spirit John 15 forces abide in me and I in you as the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine neither can you unless you abide in me I am the vine you are the branches he who abides in me and I in him bears much fruit for without me you can do nothing listen this is very important what I'm going to share with you there's a very big difference in having the spirit in you and you being in the spirit there's a very big difference between being filled with the holy spirit and abiding in the spirit abiding in the spirit means entering into his presence entering into his secret place abiding under the shadows of his wing he means to have fellowship or communion or a relationship with the Holy Spirit it means that you hide yourself in his presence it's something that is very hard to describe with words but it's an experience that you can have where you enter into his presence and you abide in him and as you abide in him the Bible says that your life will begin to bear fruit suddenly you will be more patient you will have more kindness more goodness suddenly you begin to be transformed from glory to glory into the image of Christ and you don't even know how this is happening to you but it's something that the Spirit is doing in you as you abide in his presence the next thing we must do the Bible says we must sow to the spirit Galatians 6:8 says for he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life where are you sowing your talents your time your finances if your Bible says you sow it to your flesh you invest it in your flesh you will reap corruption you want corruption so to your flesh you want life so to the spirit and from the spirit you will reap the Bible says the lasting life once the Lord begins to produce his fruit in your life we must understand that we have two enemies that are going to come against us the first and the greatest enemy that you have on this earth is not the devil don't blame any to everything on the devil you know Christians we love to blame everything on the devil the greatest enemy that you have is your flesh Galatians 5:17 says for the flesh lusts against the spirit in the spirit against the flesh and these are contrary to one another so that you did not do the things that you wish so you wish to serve God you wish to follow his Commandments you wish to be a witness you you love God and you want to do it but you can't do it and you failed once again and once again and you try and you try with your own strength and you say God I love you I want to serve you but you find that there's a battle going on inside of you every single one of us has this battle inside of us no matter how holy you look on the outside on the inside there's a battle and it's a battle of the desires of your flesh against the desires of the Holy Spirit there's a battle that is kind of like two dogs fighting inside of you there's like a black dog and there's like a white dog and they're constantly fighting inside of you you know who wins the battle the dog that you feed the most if you're constantly feeding your flesh these black dogs and I get strong and you're going to constantly continue to fall over and over into the same temptations into the same desires of your flesh but if you begin to feed your spirit men you begin to feed it with the Word of God with worship music and you cut off the things that this world has to offer suddenly you know start sensing that your spirit man it becomes - you're stronger and the desires of the Holy Spirit become a reality for you the Bible says that the sorrows of the flesh number one has to do with your relationships this is what you're gonna see in most households marriages places where people gather you wanna see all these things come to pass hatred contentions jealousies outbursts of Wrath selfish ambitions dissensions Envy murders revelries the next thing has to do with sexual sins adultery fornication uncleanness lust or lewdness the next has to do with your cult of false religions heresies idolatry sorcery and the fourth one has to do with addictions it says drunkenness you could add their drug addictions today if we want to overcome the desires of your flesh if you want to have victory over the desires of your flesh we must not only be filled with the holy spirit we must not only learn to abide in the spirit but there's a whole different dimension that is you must learn to walk in the spirit listen to me this afternoon this morning tonight I don't know what it is the Bible says in Galatians 5:16 I say then walk in the spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh you want to know the secret it's very simple you have to learn to walk again you have to learn to walk in the spirit but if you don't even know who the Holy Spirit is how you gonna walk in the spirit if you never be filled with the Holy Spirit how you gonna walk in the spirit if you don't even have a relationship with him how are you gonna walk in the spirit to walk in the spirit means to follow or to be led by the Holy Spirit to walk in the spirit means to come into agreement with the Holy Spirit Amos 3:3 says can two walk together unless they agree you can only walk with the person that you come into agreement with and believe me the Holy Spirit was not coming to agreement with you you have to come into agreement with him you have to agree with him in order to walk with him you need to agree with him he says go he said go he says talk to that person about Jesus you talk to that person about Jesus he says take the Alpha course you take the Alpha course he says tied Utah he says stop watching those type of movies you stop watching those type of movies you said stop listening to that type of music you stop listening to that type of music you begin to obey the holy spirit and suddenly you will we have victory over all the desires of your flesh you know there's there's marriages there's people who be married they live in the same house but they sleep in separate beds they live together but they're not in agreement they don't agree with each other the same thing happened with a lot of Christians the Holy Spirit lives inside of you you are the Temple of the Holy Spirit but he's starting agreement with you and you're not in agreement with him therefore you don't walk in the Holy Spirit when you learn to walk in the Holy Spirit it's a whole different dimension of Christianity it's something that you grow into something that you're learning your daily walk you don't have a two-year-old son his name is Elijah whom I love very much and I miss him very much and when he was about 1 year old he was learning to walk and he would take a couple steps and he will fall in POW he will hit against the wall against a chair against a table and when he fell I did not go and yell at him I did not get angry with him no no no no no I went to where he was I grabbed him by the hand I picked him up and I said come on you can do it I believe in you let's walk again together let's try again together that's the same thing that God does with you you have a good father and were you trying to learn to walk in the spirit and you fall he's not gonna come and step on you he's not gonna come and bring condemnation on you no he's gonna stretch his righteous right hand and he's gonna pick you up and you say come on you can do it let's try it again and you're gonna learn to walk in his presence we must not only walk in the spirit the Bible says we must set our minds on the things of the Spirit Romans 8:5 says for those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh but those who live according to the spirit the things of the Spirit for to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace it's very simple you want death be carnally minded you want life and peace be spiritually minded set your minds on the spirit your mind your thoughts but you say I cannot control my thoughts yes you can the way you control your thoughts is you control what comes into your mind if you constantly fit in your mind pornography lust then you're gonna stink all those things in your mind if you're constantly listening through your ears definitely music music that that just talks about death and darkness then your mind is and start thinking about death and darkness but if you've put before you eyes the Word of God if you start listening to the music that the Spirit is producing worship music suddenly your mind is gonna be set in the things of the Spirit and you're gonna be in work you know being or driving but you're gonna be in the presence of the Lord and you must also crucify the desires of the flesh Galatians 5:24 says and those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires you cannot tame your flesh your flesh is not your friend you cannot disciple your flesh you must crucify it you know what that means you must kill it Jesus said if your eye causes you to sin pluck it out if your right hand causes you to think pluck it cut it off cut off what causes you to sing crucify the desires of your flesh if your Christ we must crucify the desires of the flesh and also we must come to the reality and we must realize there is a real spiritual warfare against our lives the Bible says in Ephesians 6:12 that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers against the rulers of darkness of this age against spiritual hosts of wickedness in having places you must understand that there are spirits that want to steal your joy your peace they might not be able to steal your salvation but they will steal the joy of your salvation they might take away your peace their Bible speaks about the spirit of heaviness the spirit of darkness of depression that you see even on God's people spirit like takes away dreams she desires to live he takes away your joy it's a spirit the Bible calls it heaviness spirit of heaviness spirit of despair the Bible speaks about the spirit of fear people are gripped with fear and they cannot activate and move in their faith because fear holds them back the Bible says is a spirit and it's called fear for God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power of love and a sound mind the Bible speaks about the spirit of infirmity that comes to take away your health it's a spirit of sickness the enemy comes to kill steal and destroy but Jesus comes to give you life in life in abundance the enemy will produce the whole everything contrary to what the spirit produce the spirit produces love the enemy will produce hates anger in you the spirit produces joy the enemy will produce depression in you the spirit produces peace the enemy will produce anxiety in you everything against God comes from the enemy comes to kill steal and destroy if you want to have victory over the enemy it's very simple it's very simple it's not complicated this victory is found in James 4:7 he says therefore submit to God resist the devil and he will flee from you you must first submit your life to God if you're not submitted to God you can't expect the devil to flee from you if you're not walking in his ways submitted to him walking in holiness walking in the narrow paths of righteousness you can't expect the devil to flee from you he's gonna continue to attack you and harass you once you submit to God you can't Authority in the name of Jesus to resist the devil not only you must submit to God but you must also resist them what does it mean you must reject them human you can't just receive his depression his fear his anxiety you must resist that come against it in the name of Jesus and if you do these two things the Bible says he will flee from you he runs scare from you he's more scared of you than you are of him you don't have to be scared of the enemy because he will flee from you the Lord Jesus Christ is looking at our lives he's not looking for what people are looking for he's not looking about how much money you have or how successful you are he's not looking about your success according to people's standards what Jesus is looking for is fruit in your life he's looking for the fruit of the Spirit you have love joy peace patience kindness gentleness goodness self-control if you want your life to bring glory to your father in heaven if you want to be known as one of his disciples you must be filled with the Holy Spirit you must abide in his spirit you must sow to the spirit you must learn to walk to the in spirit you must resist the devil you must submit to God and your life will begin to change and reflect his glory in his image upon this earth let's all stand this afternoon
