[Music] Hey Guys
Have you ever asked God for something and He's just quiet or you've trusted Him with
something and you feel like he has let you down? You might be waiting on God
for something right now and you don't understand why nothing is happening.
You know, there is one gigantic thing that we as Christians struggle with and that is patience.
We don't want to wait We don't want to wait for anyone
or anything [Proverbs 14:12] As an imperfect human being living in
a world that is definitely not perfect, for some reason we think that we know best.
You want certain things to be done a certain way and at a certain time and when
that doesn't happen you get angry. You get discouraged, or worse, you
get so angry that you sin against God. You need to learn to pray to God, to wait
on Him for direction. [Lamentations 3:25] Listen to this and tell me if this is you.
In your life, when you pray to God for certain things to happen that you really desperately
want and when you feel he doesn't answer you not at the time that you want him to answer
you and he doesn't want to open the doors for you - the ones that you want to go through
- then you start to take things into your own hands and you want to try to force those doors
open only to realize that it was a mistake. That you try to force it open at the wrong time or
even worse it was never your door to begin with. It was meant for someone else.
You need to trust God because He knows the doors that you need to walk through and also
the time that you need to do it. [Proverbs 3:5-6] You need to understand this today.
God keeps His promises and you can trust Him with your whole life.
With your future, with everything. But it is wrong of you to go to God
and just use Him because that's what a lot of Christians do - they just use Him.
It's just like a waiter, you know you make a list. You're like, God I want this, this, this, this
and I want it now and when it doesn't happen, when He doesn't give you what you
want when you want it, you get angry. Is this you right now?
Look at yourself in a truthful way. Look at what you're actually doing.
You know, if there is one thing that God will absolutely teach each Christian it is to
submit under God's authority, under God Almighty and to learn patience to wait on him.
And this is important. To wait on him even if you don't
understand why. [Isaiah 40:31] You need to start trusting
God's timing on everything. Every aspect of your life, because He
sees the domino effect of everything, the ripple effects of life itself.
Every action and its reaction and what that will cause to happen years
from now in your life and others. You only stubbornly look selfishly
at your own life and what you want with a limited amount of
information that you do have. But God is all-knowing.
[Psalm 147:5] [Isaiah 46:10] I think we need to remind
ourselves of who God really is. How big and powerful He is
Think about it. You?
Sometimes you see yourself as big, right? You make the decisions and you're
the center of your whole life, right? But compared to this world you are
like a a drop of water in the ocean. That's how small you are compared to this
world and yet this world is super small compared to the sun and the sun compared
to our galaxy called the Milky Way and this galaxy is only one of two trillion galaxies
all of which God created by only His will. And He sustains all of it. Do you still think that God is small?
You need to change your perception of who God is and who you are.
You are not here and God is here. God is - oh man, we cannot even fit him inside
our small brains and you want to question God? He who created all the stars and
knows them by name [Psalm 147:4]
Not only does He know all the names of the stars,
He also knew your name. He even knows when one hair
on your head is missing. [Luke 12:7] God knew you before you were even born.
He doesn't live in time. He's not limited by time.
He created time. He's outside of it and he sees everything.
Think about what a miracle it is that you are just alive because he - he knows exactly everything
that had to happen for you to have been born. Think about everything that could have happened to
your father, to his father, to his father, to his father, to your great great great grandfather
If just one of them met the wrong person, died too early then you would not have been here.
God knows you better than you know yourself and He wanted you to be here.
He wanted to give you life. [Psalm 139:13-16] You need to learn to trust God because if you
do, He will lead you in the right direction when the time is right as well,
When you are ready for it. You know, there might be many
reasons why God might not answer you. Why?
He might say just wait. Or why? He even might say no.
And one of those reasons is you. Because you are not ready yet - you
are not mature enough - you are not ready to handle what he wants to give you.
It is only through faith and patience that you can inherit the promises of God. [Hebrews 6:12]
so that you may not be sluggish but imitators of those who through faith and
patience inherit the promises. So God might not give you what He wants
to give you because you are impatient You need to understand this. Let this sink in.
You might be angry at God. Meantime you are the reason why God
is not giving you what you need. You are impatient which makes you incapable of
handling what He wants to give you. [Psalm 84:11] You need to learn that kind of faith,
that kind of trust in Jesus Christ. To walk the path to continue the race even if you
don't understand how long you might have to wait for God to open the right door.
You need to understand this. Christians who are immature are impatient
and when that happens, when you feel like oh God is not answering me because you don't
want to wait - you start to doubt your faith. But why is God not answering me?
Am I a real Christian? Instead of believing that God will
answer you when the time is right, you start to doubt your own faith. And maybe, even if He really cares for
you or if He loves you. [1 Peter 5:7] At the proper time that He may exalt you You need to wait on God and to wait.
While you wait, live in the spirit. Through the spirit every Christian needs to learn
how to live through the Spirit, not the flesh. If you live for the flesh,
you will not have patience. But if you live through the
Spirit you will have patience. Why?
Because if you look through the Spirit you will produce the fruit of the Spirit
and one of them is patience. [Galatians 5:22-25] If you say I can't, I can't do
it, I just cannot have patience, you need to understand that
you're lying to yourself. It's a half truth because yes from your
own flesh you cannot, but you just don't have your own flesh, you now have the Spirit
of God because you are a reborn Christian. A new creation so now you need
to live through the Spirit. You need to let Him guide you.
Everything you do needs to be done through faith in the Spirit and if you
do, then you will have patience so that also means the moment you don't have patience
that means you are acting through the flesh. Remember that every time when you go through
life every day and suddenly you realize, man, I don't have patience.
Why I don't want to wait? It's because you're acting
through the flesh in that moment. Take a step back, realize it.
Say to God I'm sorry God I'm going to return through the Spirit - I'm going to return
to Your rest and act from Your rest and now move forward and then you'll realize
that even when you're in difficult situations suddenly you have peace again
and you're acting in the Spirit. Now you have patience again, you have self-control
again, that is what it means to live in the Spirit because now you have power.
God works in you and through you. Do you know how many times the Bible
talks about patience and how many times people just pass by it?
You know, they just read the parts that stand out to them more.
You know that they want to read and focus on. Let me give you a few Bible verses on patience.
[Psalm 27:14] [James 5:7] [Colossians 1:11] [Ephesians 4:2] [Romans 12:12] [Psalm 37:7] I can go on, but the bottom line is this
you need to learn to trust God and to wait on Him even if it takes years.
Trust Him and wait on Him because we live not by what we see with our physical eyes. We live by what we see of our spiritual eyes.
We live by faith. [2 Corinthians 5:7] There are many examples of people in
Scripture who needed to wait on God. Their lives are examples to us but
for some reason we just pass by it. No, we need to learn from it. It took Israel 40 years before they
could enter the promised land of Canaan. David was told he would be king but I had to
wait a long time before it finally happened. Abraham had to wait and trust God for his son when
all physical signs pointed that it was too late. Jacob waited a long time for his wife
Rachel and it was worth it at the end Joseph had to endure many hardships even
his own family sold him into slavery but it was part of God's plan that made him the
second most powerful ruler in all of Egypt. Mary waited 30 years to see the prophecy
fulfilled that was promised to her of her son Jesus that he would be the Messiah and
then even Jesus himself waited 30 years before he really started his ministry.
Some of the disciples thought fishing was their purpose on Earth doing that for years
until Jesus finally called them to follow Him. Timing is God's expertise.
Leave it to Him. Whatever is going on in your
life right now, trust Him. Go to your room, close the door, pray to God.
Bring everything out and talk to Him about your life and ask Him what is His
plan and purpose for your life. And then walk in that.
You don't tell God what He should do. You do what God tells you.
That's how the relationship works. He is God, you are His child.
He's your Father. You have a loving relationship
with Him, a relationship of trust. And it is time that you really start to trust God.
You trust him even when you don't understand how long you have to wait or why this is
happening or why that is happening. You still trust Him even when
something looks bad to you, You trust Him because you understand
scripture says that God will let all things work together for you if you put
Him first in your life. [Romans 8:25] Now, wait on the Lord, His timing is perfect.
And it will be worth the wait. And while you wait, continue to talk to Him.
Study scripture, learn what He wants to teach you, Because you think that you're waiting for God
while he's actually waiting for you to go to Him so that He can teach you what you need to
learn, so that He can build you into the person He needs you to be, so that He can give you
what He wants to give you. [Matthew 11:28-30] Now if you want to grow more spiritually
in Christ, in this waiting period is the best thing that you can do.
Watch these playlists here and it will definitely help you out.
I'll see you there and always remember, God loves you, and I love you too! Bye
