Frozen 2: Every Spoiler And Rumour That Has Been Leaked So Far

[Music] did you just get let it go out of your head for the first time since 2013 well you better prepare yourself because winter is coming no no no not that one this one that's right the Disney Princess juggernaut to end all Disney Princess jaggernots is back for more judging from everything we've heard from the big mouse house or more accurately the mouse Empire is that the sequel is going to be bigger and better than the original in almost every way the original made waves when it dropped out of nowhere and became a pop-culture sensation featuring Broadway megastar idina menzel and Veronica Mars herself Kristen Bell the film was a massive success that led to television specials animated shorts and a big Broadway adaptation it managed to reignite the long dormant Disney musical in the ways other films like princess the Frog entangled aimed for but didn't quite get to despite being great in their own rights the film has inspired legions of fans ranging from young children to adults who need to be reminded on how to be a child at heart for those fans we've got you covered on all the info you need for the new movie here's every spoiler and rumor that's been leaked for frozen too so far this one shouldn't come as a huge shock but the cast of the original frozen is back and ready for more most importantly that means the good places Kristen Bell and original wicked alfafa idina menzel are back as animated Disney superstars Anna and Elsa speaking of Broadway stars Hamilton's Jonathan Groff and Book of Mormons Josh GAD are returning as Kristoff and Olaf the only original core cast member that's not returning is Santino Fontana Hans this isn't surprising considering the fact that he got unceremoniously shipped away after proving himself to be quite a jerkface in the original seriously Hans was the Titanic Billy Zane a frozen that's about the worst insult imaginable the original actors aren't the only people returning for the sequel Tarzan director is rejoining directing partner Zootopia and wreck-it Ralph writer Jennifer Lee for round two of arendelle this time though Christopher Robin and hidden figures writer Alison Schroeder is also part of the writing team judging from these two credits bring your tissues cuz you're gonna need them this shouldn't come as any surprise but the oscar-winning talent behind let it go and do you want to build a snowman Bobby Lopez and Kristen anderson-lopez are back with another set of songs that you'll pretend you don't sing in the car when you're by yourself and before you start hitting that comment section talking about how horrible the music was you should know that Bobby Lopez has not only gotten a famed Emmy Grammy Oscar Tony combination he's done it twice we've got a double e G ot over here people so unless you're an eg ot what can you really say yes Whoopi Goldberg that means you can type away just ask any 90's kid about classic Disney movie sequels and they'll tell you that 90% of them are straight to VHS garbage except for you Lion King - Simba's pride frozen - obviously has set its sights on bucking this trend how go big or go far away from home the new film will apparently be much more epic in scope and our favorite characters will find themselves outside of arendelle the first teaser seemed to confirm this by featuring almost none of the original movies Kingdom speaking of that trailer though let's dive on in from the opening shot of the trailer it's clear that we're getting a very different tone from that of the original film it's dark dramatic and seriously lacking on any cute sidekicks Elsa appears to be trapped on an island of some kind and is desperate to escape the only thing in her way her arch-nemesis waves also uses her ice powers to try to fight her way across the ocean only to be thrown back repeatedly evidently she doesn't know how to make an ice surfboard maybe she'll surf a giant wave all the way back to arendelle like they did in an escape from LA seriously an escape from La Kurt Russell and Peter Fonda chase down Steve Buscemi by surfing after him on a tsunami its simultaneously the best and worst moment in movie history there's really no better place to honor a critically panned r-rated 90s movie than a Disney film for kids so it's almost certainly going to happen Anna doesn't seem to be doing much better in the trailer we see her briefly stranded in a dark cavern alone man this movie really needs a few more Disney sidekicks haha nope never mind we're good it's probably safe to assume that whatever stranded Elsa Gilligan style is also the same thing that has Anna trapped in the dark we see what looks like a moment of escape from this dickham it later when anna is leaping across a ravine though this move is very reminiscent of Bruce Wayne escaping from the pit in the Dark Knight Rises so obviously Bane is the villain of this movie before you scoff just think about how amazing it would be to hear Tom Hardy singing a ballad in his Bane voice that's how you get another Oscar right there Bobby Lopez Christoph looks like he's getting a more dramatic part this time around as well he's seen driving spin and a fleet of reindeer towards something that looks really important from everyone's serious faces one of the weirdest parts about the trailer is the one shot where it looks like arendelle is being invaded by giant floating diamonds it's unclear if these are sentient creatures or some sort of magic like Elsa's ice powers either way go ahead and write this down as another reason not to vacation to arendelle seriously how do they even predict the weather there yes tomorrow there is a 60% chance that the entire kingdom will be covered in ice and snow that will magically disappear by Wednesday Friday there was a 30% chance of floating time and things that may or may not kill you though it looks like we're in for a pretty sunny weekend assuming they haven't died already from the frostbite or those diamond things Elsa was very unique in the original film and that she was the only one in the movie who had magical powers the film doesn't go into great detail about what the powers are or where they came from but it appears like they will be diving into that in the sequel we see Elsa battling it out with a ring of purple flames it's not too hard to imagine that this is because there's another magic element controller who is attacking her knowing Disney they will introduce like a half a dozen of these characters who will all have their own spin-offs and television shows if we can count on Disney to do anything its milk a property dry there's another part of the trailer that seems to support the idea that more of these elemental magicians will appear there's a scene where Elsa seems to be getting dragged through some leaves before being thrown up into the air by an unknown force perhaps she was fighting a fire user before and now she's dealing with someone who can control leaves in nature controlling leaves and fire might be cool but let's see anyone paint with all the colors of the wind 90s Disney movies for the win one of the bigger rumors floating around the Internet is regarding the unnamed character that appears right around the time Elsa is being beaten up by a pile of freshly graves Elsa you can create giant ice monsters put your game face on many online think that this character will be a love interest for Elsa and show the first LGBTQ relationship in a Disney animated movie while this is a cute thought it doesn't really seem like Disney's kind of thing he would also anger the other half of the internet which is convinced that Elsa should end up with Jack Frost from rise of the Guardians yes that's a thing look the Internet is just really weird okay in the trailer we get a good look at whatever new land the movie is going to take place in and boy is it beautiful the world here was obviously created to get the most out of Disney state-of-the-art CGI technology it features beautiful autumn colored trees as far as the eye can see the concept might be the same as the ice covered arendelle in the original perhaps this takes place during the winter and the magical person has changed all of the trees to a permanent autumn instead of an ice covered wasteland it's kind of hard to see the problem here though I mean who wouldn't want to live in a basically giant Arboretum forever one of the biggest shocks in the trailers in the very last moments the gang looks behind them and see some sort of danger approaching what's really surprising is that Anna takes Kristoff sword and swipes it across the screen this is a pretty huge leap from the rather gentle Anna of the first frozen it'll be interesting to see if this is just a singular character moment or if Anna's going to be doing some hardcore sword fighting in the film do you want to build a snowman in Hell the film offers new character arcs for our beloved original cast and a new setting but it is also going to introduce new characters who you'll be able to meet at Disney World this time next year according to Kristen Bell a couple of these characters are destined to become fan favorites this is us and black panther actor sterling kate brown is joining the cast along with Westworld actress Evan Rachel Wood so it's safe to assume that at least one of these characters is actually a scary robot the original film revolved around the two estranged sisters learning to come together after Elsa's powers and the death of their parents drove them apart it was a sweet story that contrasted nicely with the romance centered stories from most Disney Princess films while both characters got plenty of any time we didn't really get to see them much together apparently the sequel is going to fix that according to Jennifer Lee the film is going to dive much deeper into both women and their relationship evidently she went so far as to keep journals as both women and use a psychiatrist to further analyze their personalities Jennifer Lee may go down as the first and only writer to go full Daniel day-lewis while making a Disney princess movie while Elsa undoubtedly got the show-stopping moments and all moments in the original film she missed out on a lot of the film's more humorous moments Kristoff Sven Olaf and Anna got to have all kinds of fun while Elsa was stuck in her self-imposed exile evidently in this film we'll get to see Elsa show-off her more fun side maybe she'll actually get a few scenes with Olaf when she's not stranded on a deserted island trying to battle a current in order to escape this is a children's musical comedy and not castaway right is also going to make a volleyball out of ice and start talking to it maybe that's her fun side the trolls may have been one of the funniest if only briefly seen aspects of the original film but the Broadway adaptation went in a different direction the play featured a different magical race known as the hidden folk from Scandinavian folklore these characters are rumored to make an appearance in the film if you need a visual they kind of look like the tribes people from the 100 except with tails there's one actor who has appeared in every one of Disney's animated films since he was King candy and wreck-it Ralph fireflies wash actor Alan Tudyk has made a name for himself as one of Disney's go-to voice talents he was the duke in the original frozen Alistair krei and big hero six duke weaselton in Zootopia and hey hey the chicken and a criminally underrated Moana and most recently knows more in wreck-it Ralph too he was also k2s Oh in rogue one whatever his role is in the film it's safe to assume it will be a memorable one and since the film isn't directed by Joss Whedon he'll probably live through it among the many rumors and theories that have floated around about frozen since it dropped in theaters the most popular by far is that Anna and Elsa are actually older sisters of Tarzan from the 90s animated version of the character this comes from the fact that Tarzan's parents look a lot like Elsa and Anna's parents but they also died in a shipwreck while Tarzan's parents are brought into the jungle by a shipwreck it's a pretty enormous stretch but considering the rumor that we will learn more about the parents in the sequel it wouldn't be too surprising if the riders threw in some sort of Easter egg or nod to the fan theory that or maybe Tarzan will just swing in on a vine or skateboard slide down a tree branch to save the day while Phil Collins plays in the background they may come from two different worlds but they're one family that's two four 90s Disney the last bit of information that the movies trailer gives us is when we can expect this long-awaited sequel it will be arriving in the theatres November 22nd so dads and moms go ahead and mark off that whole weekend because you know you're going to have to see this movie at least six times and probably listen to the soundtrack on repeat until 2021 don't pretend you don't belt out let it go even when your kids aren't in the car though we all know you do we still have several months to wait until frozen to hits the big screen but we'll certainly be getting more rumors and links from the film before then so until Disney releases more pictures from the movie for fans to obsess over
