Fort Lauderdale, Florida LIVE Exploring Beach, Las Olas Blvd, Riverwalk (February 23, 2021)

hello everyone it's february 23rd 2021 79 fahrenheit 26 celsius in fort lauderdale i'm in a new part of florida today and we will get started on this walk the time right now is 1 59 p.m and i am sitting in the holiday park in fort lauderdale near east sunrise boulevard and northeast 10th avenue so nice sunny day today well maybe it's like partly to mostly cloudy but i think we should be fine peta masala from the bronx make sure you visit los olas oh i definitely will go there [Music] i definitely will go to los olas boulevard but right now it's still in the early afternoon so let's go and walk over to the beach shall we let's continue on east sunrise boulevard until we get to the fort lauderdale beach as you can see this is a busy busy street lots of car traffic here a lot more streets like these than when i was in miami fast moving streets there was us-1 and now there's this one but the way i got here was i took a bus there was the number 20 bus up us route 1 and then it dropped me off over here in holiday park and the holiday park is pretty nice buses are free in broadway county which is where fort lauderdale is located the same as miami-dade county sebastian saying fort lauderdale isn't very pedestrian family i can see that i can definitely see that also not so bicycle friendly either because when i was walking up us-1 there was a bike lane right on this lane over here and it had a bicycle icon right in the middle like that's supposed to be a bike lane but yeah scary uh place to ride a bike cecilia's saying it's uh the counties pronounce growl arid broward i don't know broward brood some people crossway cordless max helps you live in the moment simply beauty it's not miami nope it's not miami but i'm still in south florida wasn't too far away [Applause] oh it's broward county okay like out eyebrow [Music] yeah that's about how long it took for me to get from my hotel in downtown miami to over here i stayed at the hyatt regency hotel i'm going to miss that one it was a very nice hotel connected to the metro mover there was a supermarket across the street next to all the buses i'm not sure if i uh changed the nightbot to say fort lauderdale instead of miami no i don't think i did oops i gotta fix that even though there really isn't much of a difference between the two because they're so close to each other the weather is pretty much the same in both places yeah nightbots keep saying it's miami miami miami it's not miami it's fort lauderdale let me see if this works [Music] and i'll set the timer for fort lauderdale as well thank you very blowing from the northwest at 9 miles per hour and the time is 205 45 pm [Music] nice to see a grocery store over there the publix i went inside a publix just yesterday cecilia is saying the metro rail goes to miami broward and west palm beach need to go to the trail stations stops to get the train has several stops in broward not sure if it's free also no i don't think the metro rail goes to broward i was looking at the map i think it's the tri-rail and the bright line but it sounds like the bright bright line wasn't working but the tri-rail you have to pay for it i think as of october you have to pay i didn't even bother with the tri-rail to get here i just got a uber service to get here because i would have had to get a car service to the train station and then when i got off the train station i would have to get another car service to get to the hotel so why should i do a three tier transfer or three way transfer when i could just do one luke is saying the tri-rails like seven to ten bucks yeah it'd be the same price anyway pretty much it's my uber to the train station it might be like 10 bucks and then the tri-rail will be seven so it'd be 17 and then from the tri-rail so the new hotel will be another 10. so comes out to like 27 and the uber came out to like 32 so it was much better to just take over there directly hustler hollywood apparel that's kind of neat that's the broward county 36 bus simply deep beauty you're not familiar with fort florida i'm not familiar with it either other than some places that viewers recommended like lauderdale by the sea there's also a state park near the end of this sunrise boulevard and las olas boulevard [Music] [Applause] seems like to get anywhere around here you need to drive or take a bus or car service they got dunkin donuts there h r block t-mobile tijuana flats and trek bicycle so this is the bus stop these are what they look like [Applause] it's a busy street i ain't telling that guy what i'm doing if he's has an attitude like that but i am keeping an eye out and make sure no one's following me it's none of his business what i'm doing [Applause] this is north east 16th terrace [Music] wendy's danny fort lauderdale blocks are super long they are i'm finding it out right now long and far in between [Music] so so these are what the residences of fort lauderdale look like lots of big balconies well they're not that big they kind of look average to me for this area anyway it's gonna take a while for me to get to the beach i think there's an arby's shot by scott d the streets here mostly you get from work to home yeah this is what it's like in fort lauderdale just big streets long locks and really meant for driving not really meant for pedestrians at least there's a sidewalk here but still once i get to the beach and the boardwalk i think it will be a lot better but this is a good place to start off so people can know what fort lauderdale is like i'm about half a hour from the beach from where i am says uh scott okay sounds good it's a huge taylor state park it's a half an hour walk shirley johnson says you told me i need a car well you don't need a car it's just very very helpful right now i think it's good just to show people what it's like here because this isn't like miami not like new york city well most of new york city anyway where areas are so densely populated and together where it's walkable 500 hp with 1.99 thank you appreciate it dwayne wally how much how far is fort lauderdale from miami i think it's about 40 50 miles away from miami it only took my driver about 45 minutes to get here christie's saying good internet connection there um i think it is good so far so good but also i had to buy this today a tnt personal hot spot [Music] so i'm on verizon and a t right now two connections because i found out that internet service is not stable here and i need at least two connections in miami was acceptable but over here it's a stretch so i'm going to need a t zoe with five bucks thank you so much appreciate it and if i still get buffering with verizon and at t personal hotspot i'll just turn on the personal hotspot on my phone which has t-mobile so i have all three major service providers i hope i don't get disconnected liz saying which store that i buy from i got it from the at t store it wasn't cheap i had to pay like i think 70 something dollars for 40 gigabytes of data and then i had to pay for the personal hotspot itself and to activate it plus tax so wasn't cheap but it's more frustrating to start over a live stream and set everything up again than it is to spend a few extra dollars to keep everything stable so north east 20th avenue is next huh and then we got an italian restaurant on this corner this looks like a big shopping center over here [Music] yeah there's a lot of stuff here subway bhaga stop mail spa shoe doctor japanese market hmm looks like something to check out maybe later or maybe uh las olas boulevard may have better meals so [Applause] here we go big louise pizzeria italian restaurant i probably should have bought this a t hot spot sooner now i wonder what my connection would have been if i were to stream in like south beach miami or where i got disconnected yesterday at coconut grove but we'll see ed said i'm headed towards the lauderdale strip i'll see a neat hotel called the yankee clipper it looks like a ship seems like there's a lot of stuff over here already the strip mall there's a jewelry place here i think i can go i don't see any cars coming or making turns by the way bike lane is that a bike lane or a suicide lane i think suicide lane mzo 30 with 10 bucks glad i'm traveling around thank you mdo appreciate it now we're crossing over a body of water we got cvs pharmacy i love this design of the cvs pharmacy with the palm trees in front catrine say the trucks went through the bike lanes can they do that yeah they can um this person is riding their bike on the sidewalk these are what is known as sharrows or and shared bicycle lanes they're just paint in the middle of the lane just to let people know that bicycles can be present it doesn't really offer any kind of protection at all other than awareness oh here's a proper bike lane now but look how tiny it is i think we're at a shopping mall now because i see macy's macy's is usually the anchor store for a lot of um shopping malls all right i have a walk signal hopefully no cars make a right turn into me while i'm crossing the streets bay view drive is the next signal so this is a high-end shopping mall huh it kind of looks like a high-end macy's it's very clean from the outside it's got a lot of glass on it which is an easy way to make a building look modern there's a 711 on that corner good to know if i ever need something i can always pop into a 7-eleven around here ed hackler many good times at the lauderdale beach strip yes i am very patiently waiting for that beach right now i'm one of the very few people to walk to the beach but this is a good way to get introduced to the area how it's like so we have the parking lot over here for the galleria that's the name of this shopping mall steven wants to know if i like key west or miami better you're thinking of taking a trip down there for my birthday well to be honest miami there's a lot more to do in miami compared to key west key west is an island a very tiny island but it has a lot of activities so if you if you prefer like more concentrated activities and a quieter field and stay in key west but in miami there's a lot more to do because the bigger city or you can do what i did and stay in miami and take a day trip to key west you can even book that bus tour that i did it was like 50 bucks round trip and you get to spend six hours in key west which i thought was plenty of time i mean even me uh i did two videos and one long live stream in key west i was able to do all that in six hours and i probably passed by the same streets sometimes two three times laurie was wondering how my sunset cruise was last night it was wonderful i loved it the video is actually uploading right now yup we gotta walk over this puddle so here's pf changs this is a high-end asian restaurant i think it's a chain too you know what i'm curious about this galleria mall let's go in hopefully they don't get mad at me or stop me from reporting inside [Music] wow valley parking in the shopping mall too eight dollars for valet parking and 10 bucks after 5 pm 25 bucks valet parking for vip all right let's see the shopping mall well i gotta play my own music because they're playing it over the speaker but whoa fancy schmancy shopping mall for sure h m dillard's ic 699 canadian i'm a walking machine stay it's a bit west of fort lauderdale and sunrise nice yeah very upscale mall look at this they got a carpet here too you can walk on the carpet at least i'm walking towards the uh the beach i guess crazy comics ooh can even buy a large minion or a yoda to take home banana republic of course [Music] jordan do i prefer the food options in miami or fort lauderdale i've only got here this morning in fort lauderdale so i can't tell you what it's like well this section over here is uh looks like it's empty they need a tenant over here scott wants me to wait till i get to the strip on las olas i'll be in heaven all right so my opinion of the shopping mall is that it's very nice but it's quiet granted it's not a weekend or a holiday so i kind of expected it to be quiet now you want to show the parking garage no it's nothing interesting in here maureen saying he thought flora was way more open than new york city but it appears not to be every place is empty except for parts of miami well it's the middle of the day fort lauderdale isn't nearly as packed as miami is and also i haven't even gotten to the tourist areas of fort lauderdale yet i like to know how many people are on the beach relaxing doing activities that will be the real test oh wow the bridge is up i can't even walk across it so i may have to wait a while for this vessel to cross underneath the bridge i don't know how long i'll wait but we are forced to now we are jaywalking across because that's the way to do it all right the bridge is going down right now so that's good this is the junction with a1a the last drawbridge i waited for people went early around the barricades after the bridge closed cyclists and scooters and even i went under it i went over under the arm up the arms are going up it's safe to cross now you see over here this bike lane over here is not as bad as the other one what you gotta be kidding me i said the bike lane wasn't as bad as the other one and then there's a sign here that says the bike lane ends why would you end it here in the middle of the bridge it should continue across the bridge marine shade 999 have a good time at the beach unless this sign is just making fun of us like why the fight you let the bikes go on the bridge but yeah look so weird no wait the bike lane continues what does that mean it looks like it's still painted across the bridge but the sign says it ends why [Music] and guy gave me the peace sign this is nice [Music] this thing someone was smoking some bad reefers while planting the bike lane you know i think i see the water already is that the beach already i thought it was uh much farther so i should go make a right on a1a yeah it seems like that's where the boardwalk is but to my left is the state park the hugh taylor birch state park actually if i go left or right it'll be nice going left i'll go to lauderdale by the sea and then to the right i'll be heading back to uh las olas boulevard i think i'll make a left actually i got some recommendations that said this uh hugh taylor birch state park it's quite nice maybe i'll do it another time i'll do this state park another time and maybe head up to lauderdale by the sea all right i got a lot more recommendations to go right because there's a lot more to see so we'll go right today here's franco and vinnie's pizza let's turn this music off because the car that was playing hip-hop music passed by already they've been here since 1971. and thank you tied tidy lefty dude five bucks when am i going back to new york i'm not certain yet i didn't plan a return ticket but i will have to go back at some point i'm not sure how the prices compare to other restaurants of this area but to me these seem like quite normal prices and a um in a place like midtown manhattan chicken parm is uh 20 bucks here that crazy disneyland saying the next stop is orlando i don't know i'm considering it a lot because then i'll have to delay my trip back to new york then but i already have a bunch of places planned after fort lauderdale to visit i did not plan on orlando but it's very tempting hot scooter hotscooterrental.com scooter prices 68 for 24 hours 20 bucks for 24 hours bicycle golf cart man you can rent everything here tandem bike electric bike good thing to know for uh for next time i may come back here to rent a bicycle for another time because right now it doesn't make sense for me to rent one now the the day just most of the day is past already it's like late afternoon now [Music] but it would help a lot to use a bicycle i have a chest mount i can still live stream on the bicycle i'm not sure about renting a scooter though because a scooter it might have like gas fees and you need to charge it if it's electric all right so sunrise boulevard almost finished now i see the beach right in front of me [Music] so this will be the real test of my internet connection because i rented a wedding rent i bought it i bought an atnt personal hot spot we got to go around this flatbed trailer look at this i gotta go around the trail and i gotta go around the puddle so a1a is straight ahead it's also known as fort lauderdale beach boulevard number 36 bus is picking up passengers right now [Applause] all right finally the beach i've been waiting for this for 48 minutes now water blazing saying broward county transit is horrible for being on time i think it might be horrible for picking up passengers too because i was noticing uh on my transit app there was a number 10 bus like half an hour away meanwhile i saw it on the corner and it drove past someone it didn't pick them up unless that was like a bus that wasn't supposed to pick passengers up i don't know but definitely strange um let's go this way so i don't have to go around that way i guess this is the button or maybe this one i don't know push both of them all right we got the crossing signal all right fort lauderdale beach about time oh there's a carpet we can walk on without having to get my shoes full of sand we got the shower perfect some people playing american football all right i gotta take a picture now because palm trees and sand in a new location is very picturesque oh here's the uh the chair and an umbrella section on this side all right now what i'm noticing about the sand quality is it doesn't seem like as many pebbles and shells as south beach in miami beach [Music] and this one seems a little bit cleaner than the south beach just my observation greg saying the west coast of florida has better and softer sand yeah i've heard that too the beaches facing the gulf of mexico is a lot more fine and the water is also calmer than over here by the atlantic ocean [Music] there's the steel pan i guess that's a bar or restaurant i'm not sure it says happy hour from five to seven and mexican restaurant el taquito grill and beer [Music] by the way i just found out last night that during my pre-recorded video of ocean drive in the evening on friday night without talking i actually passed by floyd mayweather without even noticing he was jogging down ocean drive with tmt on his shirt and he had a bunch of people behind him on bicycles with tmt shirts the money team and i was like whoa i replayed i was like that was definitely him but in the moment i couldn't tell because he just zoomed by so quickly so if you want to know if i passed any celebrities i certainly did and let me do what they're doing across the street because it is hot and i don't want to be in the sun too long [Music] but how about that huh i uh passed by floyd mayweather the undefeated boxer and almost got knocked out by him my camera almost ran into him okay red light runner by the way also on a red colored car all right ocean view delight that's a nice place and for the first time cuisine peruvian kitchen mcswirly speech pub so uh this is the bike lane this one doesn't seem as bad i wouldn't mind riding on this bike lane the other one i wouldn't want to do it every day yo hey looks like an older woman who shouted me on i got a shout out in fort lauderdale relic saying floyd met waymother quote i just saw action kid yeah that would have been funny right if a celebrity comes up to me and say hey it's actually instead of me recognizing the celebrity they recognize me first i think that's a cruise ship way off in the distance there hard to beach area i saw i saw a good mix of neighborhoods maybe i could uh see what's going on in fort lauderdale too so far my opinions of fort lauderdale a lot of traffic nice beaches but not so many restaurants but that may change when i go on to los olas boulevard so we'll see you know what let's uh cross over again because it seems like the sun isn't really shining as brightly anymore and i kind of want to see the beach again uh i guess this side first i don't even know which cross button is for which one they don't point arrows to it oh that was a quick light all right we got another carpet over here to walk onto the beach with let's see what's in this section of the fort lauderdale beach we still see that same cargo ship we got some people here sun tanning on the beach towels and chairs wonder how much these umbrella rentals cost this is the uh vista mar entrance to the fort lauderdale beach i think this guy works here let me ask excuse me how much are the umbrellas in the chairs chairs okay thank you chairs are 18 and umbrellas are 25. quite pricey so got some pigeons being fed i think we're getting to the section where there's more hotels now premier hotel welcome to sea club resort and then we got this building up here which looks like another hotel it's called the atlantic oh mission you don't think it's that expensive you can probably have it all day you can probably get a cheap umbrella for 25 bucks heck you can even get a rain umbrella bury it in the sand and it acts like a beach umbrella that works too yeah maybe buy your own umbrella and towel to sit on yeah you don't even need a chair just buy a towel a towel can't be that much money heck you don't even need a towel if you don't have a towel just use a blanket anything so here's the takato ooh japanese and korean fusion that might be an interesting place to check out all right we're getting into the more crowded section it seems like inside the rebar you know that's where here's the terror mars section [Music] i see a lot of pale skinned people there they really want tanning and then me i barely have gone to the beach i just walked in the sun for hours and on end i've gotten the tan from here to here to over here heck look even over here like you can see the collar between this and this that's how much has changed my tan is so uneven yeah james i did got sunburned my face got sunburned in my nose but i've been putting some cream on it it helped with it richie dube asks if i wear sunscreen sometimes i do i don't like to wear sunscreen because i don't like the oils on it and you really don't know what kind of chemicals are in the sunscreen sometimes that your body absorbs so this is a residence building going up in fort lauderdale and sun surf sand kimberly so excited to see a footage of fort lauder heading down from ohio in april to see my son who lives there just a mile from the beach awesome i'm shocked that fort lauderdale is very interesting the people that we have like almost 2 400 people watching this live stream today you would think miami is a more well-known city fort lauderdale is just the next city above miami and it's getting a lot of interest [Music] this is a fancy building [Music] and here's rio mar app addie watch wants to know wow where are the sexy chicks i think there's a lot on this beach here in the water under the umbrellas doing exercises and other activities sun tanning you'll see them around the band in the band is saying fort lauderdale's quieter than miami that's why but it has all the perks of miami i'm starting to see that now there's uh some more restaurants down here you still got an accessible beach over here it's also quieter but then again i'm kind of comparing this to like the south beach hey how are you i'm kind of comparing this to like the south beach of miami beach but when i went to mid beach and north beach it got a lot more quiet over there as well by the way hand sanitizer anyone is there hand sanitizer in here i don't even know let's take a look hand sanitizer i don't see any left so i don't know wow this beach is very short to the water look at this this thing only goes up to here and the water is right there [Music] john's saying i have to go to hollywood beach i'm actually considering going there while i'm still staying in fort lauderdale it's a a much shorter trek to hollywood beach from fort lauderdale than where i was staying in downtown miami so maybe i'll visit there one time i'm definitely going to visit hollywood beach wow this place is fancy they've got a skywalk just for this property in this place here here's the west end so for the most part the fort lauderdale beach line it looks pretty much the same blue umbrellas blue chairs the entire way and the sand quality looks kind of uniform this is pretty it's like fishes and flowers over there that kind of looks like a cherry blossom and the cherry blossom petals you know what this isn't even a um a public walkway this is just for this hotel the west end because in order to cross over you need to be a guest of the hotel i'll show you right now when these people after these people go up you need to be a registered guest in order to use this skywalk for the west end by the way i don't even know the origin of the name fort lauderdale was there actually actually a fort over here that was named fort lauderdale i like to know the origin of the name [Music] i'm gonna actually look it up now why is this name fort lauderdale oh here it is fort lauderdale is named after a series of forts built by the united states during the second seminal war the forts took their name from major william lauderdale younger brother of lieutenant colonel james lauderdale okay so there it is it was named after a guy named lauderdale and there were a bunch of forts here so what do you know fort lauderdale actually named after lauderdale and forts i wonder if i'll be passing by los olas boulevard anytime soon krista you hear the slight new york accent when they say fort lauderdale i wonder which part of it is the new york accent lor lourdesdale we kind of pronounce our a lot of our words with ahs or aws like coffee [Music] just like uh some viewer made a comment on little havana that it should be little havana but i think my new york accent is kicking in and making it little havana [Music] and there it is with the ah and the awes new yorkers i've seen they've they really accentuate those two syllables oh look at this place this is nice casablanca cafe oh you know what i get a lot too is uh every time i say manhattan people say no it's not manhattan it's manhattan but the new york accent is well the way i pronounce this manhattan with a d-d-u-n instead of t-t-u-n scott's saying las olas boulevard is only a block or two ahead of me nice yes sebastian john's saying i should walk on the other side of los olas boulevard that we are about to do scott sam coming up onto a beach place it's like a outdoor strip mall like mary brickell yeah mary brickell village was very cool in miami but the one thing i couldn't get away with was pronouncing broward county as broad because it's not broad it's broward there's some things you could say a certain way and some things you can't got some new hotels now [Music] [Music] pov hfr you like the my new york accent it's calming to be honest and funny too you have a slight accent yeah the new york accent is not uh universal it doesn't really vary by borough there's many different forms of the new york accent a lot has to do with socioeconomic status area like if you're like third generation second generation first generation religion there's a lot that goes into it i like this area we are getting into the beach strip area cvs crocs con murphy's this i'm liking now beach elevator yeah this is the busy part of the beach now [Music] i am going to have to visit this area in more detail taco bell cantina whoa [Music] hooters beach place yeah we're crossing the street but let me stay on this side of the street first and i'll try to get onto the beach for a little bit and then i'll cross over oh here's the hand sanitizer knock knock used to work here nice very nice the drunken taco breakfast pastries i'll see all this later [Music] that looks like a unique car over there [Music] yeah this place is definitely happening let's play little bit of the south beach feel in miami but this is way different hey where are you from indiana indiana i'm from new york enjoy your time indiana in the house let's see cafe del mar mediterranean seafood grill grilled salmon 30 bucks chicken parm 22 linguine and clam 22 pasta how about a burger 15 bucks for a hamburger ooh looks pretty good looking pretty good we are going to go into this some pictures of this place this impresses me more than uh some of the places i saw in miami like the design center bal harbor was better than the design center this isn't on the same level as battle [Music] with that was actually younger say there used to be a trampoline in the middle oh i'm sure that would be fun fresh coconuts available i'm gonna stay away from the coconuts just for a little olas i'm going there right now right now diane gekketi what's this area called i don't even know it's a cortes street and fort lauderdale beach boulevard near las holas boulevard apparently aeon asking is this really live no it's not live because i obviously couldn't read what you said all right we're passing by this section again got gelato here what flavors they got butter pecan strawberry cocoa nutella oreo ooh gelato sounds like a good idea after i finish this livestream what is this random coin on the ground but it's not anything it's uh not anything real it's made out of plastic but of the bridge and then i'll film the bridge being opened up what happens if i'm in the middle of the bridge while the bridge is being opened will the bridge open up underneath me and then i'll fall look at the breeze and some of these boats coming by maybe we'll see the boat that's forcing the bridge to to open up design ideas two dollars so excited to see my miami design this how about that i even if you're on the bridge you can still cross oh bridge is going up look at that so exciting foreign the thing is i don't even see any boats passing under it right now there's no boats waiting to go under it which is the funny part see on this side there's no boats and then on the other side i don't even see any boats either maybe are saying they have schedule times and it's automatic oh it opens up no matter what that seems a little bit uh unnecessary why don't they just open up whenever there's a need to all right well it's definitely causing a delay in the traffic all right let's just go it's cool to see the bridge go up but i'm not i'm not gonna wait till the bridge goes back down roger neyman with 50 swedish krone streaming at its best man appreciated phil levy they don't need an employee to trigger the bridge that's true doing it on a timer makes it so you don't need somebody out there to open and close a bridge [Music] i'm sure many of these drivers have like the most umbrella so if i need it then i'll use it if not then it's not a big deal oh there's a bus here the number 11. i wonder how frequently this comes i'm gonna open up my transit app and see the headways on this bus so uh it looks like they're on 45-minute headways yeah 45 minutes apart for the number 11 bus where i am and might be okay because i have half blue sky and half rain clouds dw with two loonies thank you love me kid well i love you you know what was interesting during my car ride from miami to fort lauderdale it rained for about 15 minutes or so while i was on the highway here and of these residential areas now these seem like nice homes one floor homes i don't think las olas boulevard gets to like the restaurant and strip area for another like 10 minutes or so not saying it's about a 20 minute walk to the nice part of las olas with all the restaurants all right sw what happened to the nice umbrella i bought from amazon i would have loved to bring it but it would have weighed down my luggage and it's too uh too large to fit when you're traveling you can't bring those things i have a travel umbrella that's that's it if i break this umbrella i gotta buy a new one wow isn't this fancy over here right by the water that's a nice house over here so oh there's the 11 bus the next bus after this one is 45 minutes later are these uh artificial islands built in the middle of the water here like the venetian islands in miami beach this one says isle of palms across the street it might be i'm looking at google maps now and yeah look at this wow seven isles idlewild riviera isle las olas isles hendrick and venice isles ooh and then once again past here that's where all the restaurants are they call fort lauderdale the venice of america hey p-a-v-h-f-r you uh just they're asking 2.4 million dollars for that yacht called the suzanne that's a hell of a lot of money oh look at this is the isle of venice drive isle of venice drive you know one thing i have to point out is that um there aren't too many public benches around here it's a nice area but there's not so many public benches man this is a nice angle too this might be a better thumbnail yeah much better thumbnail for that so loving the pink house a tnt is doing some maintenance here's hendrick's aisle i think this might be the next uh to last island coming up here's the first public bench it's only at the bus stop so whoa that's an expensive car over there [Music] yeah that um that was the second to last island there's one more island left so let's look at the other side las olas villas this seems like the biggest uh section between the islands walking commuter with five bucks you like all the palm trees new york planted yeah there's a lot of palm trees in new york i guess we got a legendary walker in the live stream right now walking commuter who's at the great sauner of manhattan he walked the entire perimeter of manhattan last island this is navarro isle oh there's the bus i almost walked this entire strip and the bus didn't even come until now louise saying you stay in fort lauder i need to go to las olas boulevard oh we're right here i'm walking past the homes now and then we'll get to the restaurants but it's very soon now i actually see all the tall buildings of downtown up ahead this is not such a great view as the other ones because you have these pipes over here h3n2 it doesn't look like the best place to be in a storm surge yeah i'm sure flooding is a big concern for people here as well as hurricanes and big thunderstorms [Applause] [Music] then say you water bottle again these driveways can be very deceiving sometimes you forget they're there and then the sidewalk changes on you sometimes i drag my feet on them all right so we're not waiting at the whenever i rent it one thing i haven't noticed about fort lauderdale is there's not a bike share system or e-scooter sharing system like city bike or bird or lime there's a phone store grand for an old bakery i think this is a hair salon yes someone's getting worked on right now dirty penny vape and cbd if you want to get adventurous you can go in there clothing store this is a fancy building the compass oh real estate office we got a look at some of these prices now beyond spectacular two bedrooms offered at four thousand four hundred and fifty dollars whoa what for a two bedroom auburg beach residences 1.5 million for two bedrooms stunningly unique fort lauderdale three bedrooms at eight hundred and fifty thousand okay it's below a million dollars [Music] we got this one two bedrooms offered at twelve thousand dollars and it looks like i got an affinity pool there crazy twelve thousand dollars for a two-bedroom that's ridiculous whoa so [Music] here we got northern trust asia based sushi and thai this is charming here's another riverway they certainly have a prime location right by the waterfront here luigi's tuscan grill all right i think this is the restaurant section now i'm on southeast 11th avenue and las olas boulevard be square burgers and boobs nice and louis bossy's restaurante pizzeria there's so many pizzerias here so many pizzerias and then we have warby parker here what's this place the yeti [Music] and this is a municipal lot so you have street parking here if you want to park here not a lot of sidewalk space here at all international realty galleria [Music] carol's jewelers i'm in the hot spot of los olas now excellence italiano and another italian piece piazza italia there's so many italian places here also a lot of pizzerias unique treasures well certainly those are unique artworks who wants a horse like this in their living room or uh i don't know whatever that is who wants a french bulldog with a crown on it and jewels river walk goes probably not long right i can't imagine it goes on much more um there's a lot of nice boats here this one's the ripple from portland maine came all the way down from maine basta man saying it stretches for about a mile more cool there's a nice park here called the boobier park and also another area called the wharf at fort lauderdale i think i'll end it at the boobier park that'll be a good spot to end the live stream take a look at that dog he's certainly enjoying it the art museum is nearby great there's also a riverwalk on the other side too marcus this is your building eve m thanks you're to stay here on my next visit the riverside rooms are only 138 dollars a night that's actually quite reasonable compared to some of the hotels i was looking at on miami beach and key west it looks like a nice area these palm trees are tall almost as tall as this building oop i got a balance this again here we are southeast second avenue and los olas boulevard this really seems like the downtown area now look there's a bank of america building up there here's a florida atlantic university broward college another place prime seafood eddie eddie v's prime seafood all right thank you for letting me cross the street wasn't too sure certain that driver was gonna let me cross that's why i waited um here's harborwood urban kitchen this looks cool so this was the park i was looking at before where i wanted to end my live stream and i think it'll be a nice place for me to end oh my gosh this is a hotel over here i didn't even know let me cross the street and i'll show you the hotel this is the hyatt centric hotel isn't this a fancy hotel how many rooms does this place have i'm missing the best parts of the riverwalk i'm near the performing arts center you know what let's head over to this [Music] fisherman's wharf area or the wharf at fort lauderdale that's what it's called and then i'll head to the performing arts center i'm so close to it anyway let's do it best part of river walkers across the other side let's go already three hours into this live stream it's a beautiful fountain mantras montgomery 4.99 am i planning to go up to tampa it's a really nice area also wait is there a way i can go under this yeah i can why am i waiting here i was looking at the road it was going up and i was like there's got to be a way to walk under this bridge man what a hotel huh looks so modern hopefully i can walk under it anyway i'm not even sure got here a playground claudia is saying the hyatt centric is 178 a night that's not bad not bad at from this top step here we just won't go in well this looks cool and then you got this modern looking building over here uh oh looks like i violated that rule but i hope they don't mind because the area looks like it was it was closed and there's nobody in there right now so uh so where is this performing arts center this is a nice looking bridge i think it's a rail bridge yeah it's definitely a rail bridge i see train tracks even train tracks on the bridge itself going vertical that's the man saying the art center is after the bridge and a bit all right wow this is picturesque here so this is a public park new river inn over here this looks like a quieter area than where i came from so uh hmm looks like the river walk continues this way old fort lauderdale village that's what the sign says apparently this is the best part of the riverwalk it's at the intersection of the new river and the florida east coast railroad it's a lot of old structures here including this one up here early 19th century british admiralty anchor how about that this thing is ancient and it's standing right in the middle of this park oh here's all the water taxis i think i see something up there hello don't mind me i'm just stretching so many water taxis now i know how they can come every half an hour because they have so many of these boats [Music] us [Music] [Music] wow this is a very nice part of the river walk great addition to this city all right obligatory picture here fort lauderdale chair there's the imax there [Music] so which way is the performing arts theater is it this way up the stairs pavilion it sounds like some dogs are yapping oh the performance art center is there okay let's go we gotta go up the stairs oh man this is nice i just saw a lizard just crawl onto a crack there's a lot of these tiny lizards around florida i even saw a big iguana somewhere hey there little guy what's up watch how fast it's gonna move oh didn't catch that oh no all these signs must mean they're closed crowd notice no trespassing and they close off this area too it's sad that this whole area is closed off well um that was sure a long walk today right now it's 5 16 p.m and i'm getting hungry now after doing this three hour and 18 minute live stream so i think i'm gonna end it here at the performing arts center okay so get something to eat get something to drink and relax but anyway if you
