Forsheda F2 A4 Gas Mask review and test

hello everybody this is quite a new and cool mask it's the four Tschida f2 a four I believe now I wasn't able to find out loads of information on these that they started turning up on the UK surplus market now but I have to issue you a bit of a warning with this because every seller that's got these has their brand new masks designed in like 2012 or something they're not surplus stock however if you look closely at the mask you will see that rubber our mine is dated if it focuses 1994 that's the same on the inner seals and everything I checked it and so I contacted the seller I bought this from they are very good they gave me a partial refund they said I could send it back and get a full refund or get a partial one I opted for a partial ones or Co like collecting masks and the mask is in very good condition and they said what they thinks happened is where they've ordered a load in they you know the company a Porton from has not been entirely true for less than a really mixed law in there because when I got this it was Muir's in it was completely wrapped and sealed so obviously they hadn't opened it up to check the dates on the rubber it didn't come a filter and it was 60 pounds and then it was 50 pounds wouldn't see not but 10 pounds off for me as a partial refund which I was happy with so yeah just be advised if you're going to buy one of these in any of the places that are selling them or advertising then there's new you know brand new masks as soon as it arrives check the day and make sure you order it from somewhere where you have good bye a protection because I imagine you might be like me you might get one that isn't actually a brand new mask and it's about 20 years old because what I imagines happened is there's the new versions of these mass per out and then because it's a Swedish mask for shooters they Vaughn said the mask is out today - let's sell them on the surplus market and then some of these bought them you know thinking they're newer masks and they actually are but regardless of that were Swedish Chef to master this is based on four Tschida is a military mask and the a four which is a civilian version least I believe this is an eighth or has a drinking tube removed here on the F to normal F to there's a drinking tube here and I think you can change the filter on this side this is sealed like on the Old West End's you've got um you know like one non removable side and this side where you can remove the filter plug and put a filter on so standard 40 millimeter NATO mask very very good you'll see it bears or as a strong resemblance es10 in my opinion and I think this is probably heavily influenced by the s10 so it's basically if you like the evilness tell you will like this mask in my opinion is have even better lenses in the s10 very good steel division more of the American triangular style ones and this is a mask or I've seen it a few times appear by numbering you what it was until I saw them on the surplus site and so I'll get one of those so for comparison there's the a4 next to an s10 as you can see the S tellers are drinking tube on if you remove that it's pretty much the same thing so it goes on the left side this bits not removable voice diaphragm on the front the s tones what the second voice diaphragm here both give very very good field of vision I think as I said that's slightly about in the f10 but there's not going to be much in it it's sort of like I said if you like the f10 you like this mask I prefer the straps on the for Tschida less fabric so it's more like the FM 12 CG 12 which means the straps aren't quite as good if you're in a contaminated environment because they're cloth but on the other hand they're more comfortable because they're fabric straps in the masks are very similar Naurang drink drinking sheave only has 10 you've got your kinda nose or all sort of nasal cup there and you've got same on the s10 the inside masks are very similar as I said if you like the f10 you're like before she ducked now I really do think they looked at the f10 said let's copy that and rather than doing straightforward clone they've changed a few bits for the better and it's a very very good mask now where I ordered it income of a filter but as it's 40 millimeter stannic you can for any normal filter on it what I bought off of hammers because this is a very good thing that they stopped these are member them you can get Scott particulate filters on Amazon brand-new absolutely no risk will be guaranteed to work because they can see what I've opened it to do a video on it so obviously you just screw it on as usual now activated charcoal in this because it is a just a particulate filter in an NBC thing just to demonstrate this at the bottom of an NBC filter of the particulate filters and that's another section where you can see the white sort of stuff exactly the same as that filter there but in the top sections we have the activated charcoal so you can see the ridge there well it separates the filter sections you can source slightly here the activated charcoal rattling so that filter will protect you from less from this one will but combine these for about six pounds Lamaism or just a particulate filter which is really good because that stops teargas and lots and lots of things just not necessarily more nasty chemical weapons but it seems on both amazon and ebay you can buy fully wrapped new sort of industrial ABEC type filters which protects you from the vast majority of industrial gases and chemical weapons because it's like a load of different activated charcoal x' treated in different chemicals and they also have particulate filters on if you get the a bec one plus a particulate filter so it's exactly the same as an NBC filter but you can buy and brand new so not too much money because it's sold as an industrial filter to civilians not as old NBC so for stock so anyway now the interesting part i am going to test this mask right so i'm going to put the mask on what i'm going to do is fully loosen all the straps and then tighten them and one thing I do really like about this mask is how well it actually fits my face it's a size two which seems to be the NATO size that I normally go for with NATO MRSA normally size one is very large size four is small but if I have a size two one needs and size two s10 this actually fits me better so obviously put the mask on and I'm what I'm saying is that when I tighten the strap I get a really good chin film if it's like wow did itself to my face which is actually what you really want because it means that you know the actual mask is not going to come loose under any circumstances with my head so just check what I strapped to a different type and there we go I've got a really good seal with my face on this mouth I've said I've got a really good field of view both lenses complement each other quite well whether close so I get a bit of vision here where it's a bit blurry where one eye can't see me but the other camp so it crosses over well I can see the filter there which is actually good if I wanted to plug in it we'll take it off you know you can actually see without just remove the Bablu mask I've said that six plastic that you can't take it off on the military f2z interchangeable as holding around civilian a4 that's not very very good field of view and new filter of stents and they're going to test it now and something you can hear that the voice by frame is fairly good on this mask so let's go right now for the test I'm assuming that the particulate filter will stop aerosols if it won't then I will switch my own filter to and NBC Celtics I should empower some that have got enough fresh activated charcoal into work but manual for the filter dump them if you can smell anything this altar isn't working so it should have people carosone so right let me start spraying and I can't smell a thing right so basically about saying you can ask to turn the from you take surplus market as far as I'm aware they've also been omnium you know few other citizen markets now I've interesting I can actually smell slightly through this I think that's because these particulate filters are advertised as being like 99% effective so I basically get if you're an enclosed space then you can start smelling stuff because the filters designed to work for a certain period unblocked night-nights empty after vacuum so I'm going to do if I'm going to evacuate now I go to an NBC filter on which I hope still works and I'm going to test it again and slide out it's a mask and willing I imagine it's the filter so let me try that man I'll be right back okay I have a completely working at 10:00 filter here so I can't smell a thing I'll display a bit more era so just to prove that you still have to take out the risk so I shouldn't be able to smell any of that and this source is doing its job so that's nothing wrong we've got particular filter as long as far as I'm aware that's because the particular filters general stops some things and others are subsiding BC or a back filter is better because it has both the activated charcoal and the particulate filter both remove different things or sell different things and now I can't smell things that's working so we might buy two more as 10 sources you can get back to your apps one for about 510 pounds I think the Romanesque pencil as a kid I like them I like more plastic because them isn't it so um yeah as I was saying if you're getting you two mouths some surplus market be very careful because some lot of people advertising them as new bit because they don't actually use stock so you always have to what to help for that but um yeah as far as I'm concerned this is a very very good mask and paying 50 pounds it's I'm very happy I actually think I might like this more than me ten well mama I like it more than iam CT twelve is still debatable but it's very comfortable I said I get a really good facial fit in this with the inner actual nose cut full mouth cap area that's very very good as you can see it visually it's very very similar to in the nest I'll just do a slightly different type of like piece really but if you're going to copy something copy something that works now say yes for Tschida f2a for of said or at least I believe it is so yeah as I was saying with filters are actually designed really offensive to evacuate through somewhere and lots of singers a bit of a mess of gas masks people think you know you can be in a contaminated environment just fine Fraser the gas ma that's a really true although it might be required of soldiers the gas mask toy beer is actually that you have it one of the filters and you can evacuate we're doing little more damage to yourself eventually filters are like to come out saturated although be enough oxygen to breathe and last can you break down over time being experienced and really nasty gutted but yeah this has potential to works absolutely firing on this so there we go this pen filters are really good but lots of her that's not not a particular filter I just think some of the stuff in the air Astana can't block and this letter promoting writing like self-sufficiency sort is not 100% which gives you plenty of time to evacuate but looks like I'll be ordering some more tender filters because local this one was get outdated but apparently it's still holding up so there we go so yeah this mass Tyson it before on a tougher covers I think the really to the crazy have a picture list on the cover what I'm going to do now is um just check off the masks working them and the smell still wear by breaking the seal and not being right happier then disclosing it so here we go yeah I'm not splattering if I'm going to take a huge loan cool I can definitely smell that I can't smell the thing of the mask on so you know once you force everything out the mask I can tell okay so yes then filters work this mask works I'm just going to see if I can dig out that DVD cover to actually check masks on the same now I've had a look that seems to cover I've got is the one with for the newer film it's just like you know one of those Michael Bay type exciting movie posters but the old poster you can see all the old look like the new pitcher for the old like like the re-release picture I'm drying it out the old film is an s10 as you can see and then on the inside they've got a Canadian c3 actually on the disc in the film it's mark 5 British respirators from World War two but we filters glued on to the bottom what the old asbestos filters so yeah as I saying the four sheeter is an excellent mask I'm sure the Scot filter works perfectly fine against particulates the different kind of vapours like I said I don't really understand when it classes as a vapor or a particular or whatever else so what I'd suggest then is obviously getting a BEC filters and most things because they block my stuff this will be fine against particulates but I've said I'm not entirely sure which particulates a particulate filter blocks so it's often better just to get an NBC or an ABEC filter to block everything so you know you'll be safe rather than going and we'll just sort of stopped this gas
