FORREST GUMP (1994) | FIRST TIME WATCHING | MOVIE REACTION

what's up guys welcome to the Rob squads home theater today is going to be a great movie reaction because you guys have been suggesting it from the very beginning of the channel and this is personally one of my favorite movies of all time but Jay has never seen this iconic film and I know y'all gonna come for me just like in The Matrix because I just I didn't grow up watching movies I I was more and still to this day pretty much all I watch was Sports absolutely crazy but I'm excited to watch this um I do know one saying from it uh life's like a box of chocolates like that yeah personally huge say yeah my favorite movie quote from all time actually comes from this movie you guys I'm a runner and my favorite line is I just felt like running oh I've never related to anything so much in my life you'll understand when you see it it's great I'm ready to get into it I hope that you love it you guys I think he's gonna like it I know like I said it's one of those movies that you know everybody talks about that everybody's seen but you know I just never really you know I never was gonna sit down and watch uh two three hour movie I think I get that I think my attention span first of all especially when I was younger your boy struggled to even last through any type of move yeah I think you'll have an appreciation for it as an adult I'm excited to watch it as an adult I watched it quite a few times as a kid you know in my youth so I'm excited to watch it now it's been a while let's go ahead and check out I've been asking for it some Forest Gump let's go ahead and get it grab your popcorn grab your favorite drink and your blanket let's check it out it does feel good like saying I cannot I'm knocking out all these iconic this is a big one I guess like I can find like everyone Rants and Raves about those the new TV shows uh stranger things we've still never watched those I it's hard for me to get into the hype when people hype it up so much you'll understand this one though [Music] that boy got the Nike Cortez's on they beat up though [Music] I'm hey Tom Hanks a young Tom Hanks Woody yeah I knew this I knew that would be your reference and I know my mate my Disney movies them are the movies I watch should know [Music] inside of Curious George book my name's forged Forrest Gump do you want a chocolate hmm my mom always said life was like a box of chocolates there it is you never know what you're going to get those must be comfortable shoes I've won a lot to shoes I bet if I think about it real hard I could remember my first pair of shoes mama said they'd take me anywhere she said they was my magic shoes all right Forrest open your eyes now let's take a little walk around what the world those braces look so intense I don't feel why is he having to wear those but his back crooked as a politician oh okay and right up now what do we party of course but can you imagine modern day treatment wouldn't be that tough he did was he started up this club called the Ku Klux Club oh they'd all dress up in their robes and their bed sheets oh that even put bed sheets on their horses and ride around and anyway that's how I got my name oh I don't remember that so he got his name after a leader of the KKK we all do things that well I don't think he understands mom always had a way of explaining things so I could understand now that sweet about half mile from the town of Greenville Alabama bats in the county green bow her grandpa's grandpa grandpa had come across the ocean about a thousand years ago something like that something like that that's how me and mama got money mama was a real smart lady Airbnb early that's beautiful though grass but my boy forest is going to get the same opportunities as everyone else he's not going to a special schools that's right is that Mr Gum Mrs gum he's on vacation foreign are you kidding me oh yo mama sure does care about your schooling son you don't say much do you I didn't understand that this is what Forrest Gump's about mama said I'm gonna get my boy into space she cares about forests vacationing vacation where Daddy went oh [Music] Elvis supper's ready if y'all want to eat yeah that sounds good thank you man that's cool it sounded good I started when asked them Elvis moves too swinging my hips just one night me and mom was out shopping and we walked right by bits in front of an appliance store hey there it is your son taught him well he sung too many songs had himself a heart attack or something hey hey it's funny how you remember some things but some things you can't you do your very best now first look at that school bus I remember the bus ride on the first day of school very well bus driver smoking a cig AR well now we ain't strangers anymore oh you see a little smile she gave it sweetest voice in the wild I love the accents I had never seen anything so beautiful in my life I'm nothing at all thank you my legs are just fine and dandy I showed her how to dangle [Music] sometimes we just sit out wait for the Stars mom is going to worry about me oh that's beautiful we'll take the tree alive told me that miracles happen every day some people don't think so but they do oh what the heck goodbye why do you teach your kids not to be bullies little jerks I'm gonna hit my dog in the face with a rock chasing him on a bike he's moving in them though those little corner let's go for us Forest is moving can you imagine that feeling of going from braces to that [Music] sure is a running fool that just made me so happy he was always kissing and touching her and her sisters and then there's one time Jenny wasn't on the bus to go to school Why'd You Come today dad is taking a nap better get back here girl where are you at where in the heck why so many emotions already in this movie and it's not even 30 minutes in it's dead he had the police say Jenny didn't have to stay in that house now scared or what I don't know I think it was her Grandma's dog he was a mean dog anyway Jenny and me was best friends all the way up through High School hey stupid oh my gosh they still now they just got a car [Applause] ah [Music] before this be moving though [Music] like I think we're about to run over him it's so immature that's so mean like who would do something like that [Music] so the way you can turn a corner he's running on the football field [Music] that's the local idiot you getting him on the team he is not playing college freaking football look at it especially for Alabama let's go of course is it okay I hate how they spoke to him though look at him [Applause] nobody told him to stop I'm done I'm done but that I mean in football that's the perfect spot for him put him on camera run straight what's going on raccoons are trying to get into though without his promise to block the doorway President Kennedy ordered the secretary yes I've already been mad in this movie I've been happy in this movie about cried in this movie already and shrimp creole shrimp gumbo and fried he's making me hungry that's all he talked about is shrimp coconut shrimp pepper shrimp shrimp soup shrimp stew shrimp salad shrimp and potatoes shrimp burger shrimp sandwich that's that's about it just a couple days Days full of you telling me about your friendship Forrest just listened a Playboy Jenny had gotten into some trouble over some photos of her and her College sweater oh that's Jenny shoot I didn't even I didn't remember that he found Jenny in a Playboy I didn't even recognize the face until he said the name and offered Jenny a job singing in a show oh Jenny wanted to be a singer before you there [Music] first I'll take care of it come on Forest foreign Forest you can't keep doing this all the time I love you Forest oh you don't know what love is how you gonna tell me you'll know what love is he's known them since he's known her since she was little where are you going I don't care in the truck so bye bye Jenny they sended me to Vietnam it's this whole other country hang on a minute she's gonna leave him like this just if you're ever in trouble don't try to be brave you just run okay just run away no like she's always talk okay Jenny acting real sketchy it makes me sad because Forrest doesn't understand the gravity of what we're going to Vietnam exactly and he'll understand why she's doing that to him he doesn't you come back safe to me oh that's got to be so scary you know she loves sports that's her baby you know who this is awesome CCR Fortunate Son I think I think it's Fortunate Son I just recognize the guitar riff oh yeah I remember this one this song I Don't Like Jenny no more it ain't me it ain't me except for all the beer cans and barbecue it was besides the beer and barbecue oh that looks so chaotic wow meetings to come out here and shrimp these water just trip all the time is that all he talks about in this movie is shrimp he loves shrimp goddamn snipers all around this area would love to grease an officer I'm Lieutenant Dan Taylor welcome Lieutenant Dan what's wrong with your lip I was born with big gums oh yeah cause I was gonna ask to see if a dip in his lip or something you thought it wasn't yeah I thought they had a difference from his lip he said don't get it caught on a triplet somebody in his family had fought and died in every single American war God damn it I guess you could say he had a lot to live up to there's a lot to live with a lot to live up to yeah trying not to do anything stupid like getting yourself killed two rolls take care of your feet and don't die we would take these real long walks he's viewing it as I got to go on a long walk along the countryside yeah that's how I'm at War that's how he sees it oh the road tell us to get down shut up shut up well there was one something there they're hearing you now I'm tax what I don't remember where tax come from it's the way I love the way he talks I am so matter of fact very proper and very positive check out that hole that was nowhere to go one day it started raining and it didn't quit for four months could you imagine graving the elements four months of rain right and big old fat right miserable rain flew in sideways it's miserable I got it all figured out too told me to pay on a shrimp pay off the boat such a genuine friendship too split everything right down the middle man I'm that we've done the music reaction Channel and then just like that somebody turned off the rain and the sun come out can you imagine that feeling that scares me oh wow wow [Music] oh my gosh The Sounds [Music] oh my goodness how about those effects though the bullets coming oh my God oh my God Ryan and Ryan just like Jenny told me to wasn't expecting none of that Bubba was my best good friend I had to make sure he was okay oh [Music] Bubba and on my way back fine Bubba well that was this boy laying on the ground please no that's not him I couldn't just let him lay that all alone and scared the way he was back looking for Bubba somebody else was saying Help Me Forrest help let me get all the people he's saying force is really bringing all them out the freaking jungle it's just crazy because Forrest is doing naturally just like what he believes is right and he doesn't think twice he's just he's not thinking he's not thinking selfishly yeah he doesn't think twice then it felt like something just jumped up and bit oh my gosh Amber oh [Music] I told you to leave me there he thought something bit him he was shot this got intense real quick is the most War sounds I think we've ever gotten and it's intense don't you stay here God damn it that's an order I got it oh please tell me he finds him okay of course okay come on this is so terrifying oh they better freaking go oh my gosh hi Bob hey Forest might just happen Bubba said something I won't ever forget Bubba was my best good friend and even I know that ain't something you can find just around the corner no but instead he died right there by that Rhythm Vietnam that's all I have to say about that look at how many times you've seen it losing Bubba never gets easier a bullet that jumped up and [ __ ] oh yes sir let me directly in the butt it was a million dollar wound but the Army must keep that money because I still ain't seen a nickel is the ice cream that gave me all the ice cream I could eat I guess look at him a friend of mine was in the bed right next door Lieutenant Dan dang I got you some ice cream we didn't die in ice cream please what's his problem now especially after he saved you it's time for your bath lieutenant he lost his legs oh that's that's why he's probably mad webs traumatizing go I'm looking for is just sitting there chilling out your butt out licking that ice cream there's letters Jenny oh they didn't get to Jenny it says returned to Cinder ever Take Your Eye Off the Ball just tell them what to do I played ping pong even when I didn't have anyone to play Pang pong with this is the hospital's people said it made me look the hand-eye coordination even Lieutenant Diane would come and watch me nothing just happens it's all part of a plan it should have died out there with my men but now you see that do you know what it's like not to be able to use your legs yes sir I do oh because the braces you cheated me I had a destiny I was supposed to die in the field with honor cause all of his uh and yeah grandparents or whatever it was but it's sad for Lieutenant Dan because you know that's supposed to let me step out for a long time like like you said he didn't get to fulfill what he thought was his Destiny or just imagine waking up and you're no longer able to walk as you work son you've been awarded the Medal of Honor guess what Lieutenant dying each of the armed services son it's crazy putting him in these like historical Clips he's gone on to do so darn much already oh some Simon Garfunkel it's like he played Alabama like everywhere I went I had to stand in line he just gets put in situations where he has no idea yeah he's just goes with it he's like becoming part of a protest no clue it has no idea in uniform who was that guy I don't know [Applause] here together in our nation's capital she told me about all the traveling she'd done traveling hitchhiking she discovered ways to expand her mind oh anybody want to go to San Francisco I'll go [ __ ] can you imagine just like oh yeah yeah it's like skull I don't know where we're gonna stay I'm gonna get money yeah that's crazy I wish you wouldn't go Jenny oh dude's there it would never hurt you know that look at the way Forrest was looking at him you should go home to Green Bow Alabama Forest we have very different Labs you know she letting them down hard again see don't give her that don't give her that of course I can't keep him no you can't do what you told me to do why are you so good to me you're my girl I'll always be your girl then why don't you just be his girlfriend then stop shrimp I only caught five a couple of boy you could have yourself a cocktail I'd never name the boat before but there was only one I could think of the most beautiful name oh he named it stinking Jenny you didn't find that sweet hey because Jenny's always with some sleaze ball instead of forest There She is again now I hadn't heard from Jimmy in a long time okay Jenny thought about her a lot scary things ever oh my goodness Lieutenant Dan he was mad he's up there he's nuts nuts Lieutenant Dan is nuts he's like test tempting him was a hurt hurricane this reporter has learned in fact only one shrimping boat actually survived the storm the wait who is this Forest shrimping was easy because all the other boats was making in the money needed them shrimps because shrimp cocktails and barbecues and all about left standing Bubba got shrimps what they got a big old white house we even had hats let's say Bubba Gump bump successful bubble gum shrimp the Bubba Gump Shrimp corporation yes we got more money than David Crockett yeah I heard some bumpers in my time but that tops them all you better believe him we were sitting next to a millionaire and a half would you like to see what Lieutenant Dan looks like yes I would now she's she's gonna believe him he's on the Fortune Magazine yeah let me tell you something about Lieutenant Dan his eyes were closing that picture too for the second time in 17 days one anyone go Margo what's up with the assassinations his first thought just to jump off the boat he wasted no time he had a um tomorrow so I'm all distant destined to be your mama I did the best I could you did good you have to do the best with what God gave you what's my destiny mom you're gonna have to figure that out for yourself mama always had a way of explaining things so I could understand them I will miss you for she had got the camp and that's all I had to say about that Forrest had such a good mom he had such a good mom ENT then let Forest be Forest she's she's missed her bus she wants to stay and listen war hero and National celebrity and a shrimping about cap he's been so much but this city Falls in Greenville Alabama decided to get together and offered me a fine job so uh I never went back to work for lieutenant Diane fruit company and so then I apple look the apples colored that's good one less thing life so he owned a part of Apple he's invested in apple yeah Fortune a man really needs that's crazy and the rest is just for showing up that's right for us that is right and I gave a whole bunch to the bio of the bat oh that's awesome I gave Bubba's Mama Bubba shell Forest is hard oh foreign is truly beautiful though pretty owls she was there [Music] I did all the Talking Jenny most of times was was real quiet house with her awful dad you have to think about all the things we've seen Jenny go through in this movie and the childhood we saw that she had she would have given a fair shave she's had a rough life let it rough but I didn't care it was like olden times we was like peas and carrots peas and carrots again eat The Best Gift Anyone could ever get in a wide world what do you call oh some new Cortez Nike Cortez she even showed me how to dance good for a slight out of the dance get it for us will you marry me I'd make a good husband Jenny he would but you won't marry me why don't you love me Jenny I'm not a smart man but I know what love is see what I mean I feel so bad for Forest oh see Forest but my math is playing games with him again you're running off too is she leaving him again so this is a common theme in this movie because he was so happy happy she gets him to like his happiest moment and then leaves it's just so confused she came here I told him she loved him obviously yeah it happened and then she bounces when I got there I thought maybe I just run across Greenville County that's what I did I ran clear across Alabama no particularly I ran clear to the ocean he ran over to freaking California and when I got there I thought you cut his jeans might as well turn around just keep on going got this fire might as well turn down when I got to another ocean I figured since I've gone this far when I had to go you know I win and so you just ran yeah yeah [Music] he's at oh that's beautiful what a run wait look at that I'd think a lot about mama and Bubba Lieutenant dang yeah what happened to Lieutenant Dan he said he's running the boat for more than two years now a man named Forrest Gump a gardener look here and there all the way to Maine all the way back to Cali time on his journey across America Forrest Gump The Gardener from Greenville why are you doing this I just felt like running duh duh that makes so much sense to me I follow you anywhere Mr Gum so I got company you got himself a little following I got more company there's a van even more people joined in I would have joined in with Forest 1 000 person but help me jump into Whoa man you just ran through a big dog [ __ ] it happens it happens what [ __ ] oh he comes up with the sage Miss Logan and he made a lot of money off of it [Music] another have a nice day well some years later I found out this smiley face shirt yeah for a t-shirt he made a lot of money off the bed who's got some bangers Bob Seger I'm pretty tired laughs I think I'll go home now looks like he's in Arizona can you believe Jenny mentally broke him so bad that he ran for three years straight three years and just like that my running days was over back and forth across the U.S ocean ocean wondering if I could come down to Savannah and see her and that's what I'm doing here now we're in present day so now we're in present down that way down that way down that way it was nice talking to you he's what am I waiting on how you doing come here you got air conditioning uh all right so if you're clippings and everything that you are this I got you running oh ran a long way for a long time because you messed with his head gotta go honestly recover guys that I mean I know why you all been suggesting it so much God y'all got me out here freaking snot bugger crying out here but God Lee I I there's so much we could talk about I'm trying to figure out where to start obviously you know Jenny pulled him pulled him along I was mad at you well I gotta ask after at the end of the movie do you do you are you still like really mad at her she I know she had a rough childhood I get there yeah I I absolutely get that I think that like with Jenny it's like I think she was just confused I think she had no Direction because of her childhood I think that she was given a really shaky start and although it's like you get so mad at her for picking up the David I do believe that she really loved before it's just it shouldn't have took till the end and the sick for him to the thing that I think you know she tells Laura she tells she told first you don't know what love is but really I don't think she knew would love it because she didn't get it because she didn't get it from her father so I don't think she knew I don't think this Forest loved loved the heck out of her and I think you're right and that just now clicked to me I think that she didn't feel like she deserved for us so that's why she kept leaving honestly because forest was such he was such an innocent his mind his heart his soul everything that came out of his mouth was so innocent it was so matter of fact and I love love love getting to see you know how he never let anything hold him back you know people talking about his intelligence and the purest of Hearts yeah that everybody wished they had yeah he didn't let what people would say about his intelligence hold him back he accomplished so many things and like seeing him in these historical settings I think as an adult it was really cool because I understand the history now and I did not understand the soundtrack at all I mean I didn't know any of the music the soundtrack when I was younger and I watched this so definitely a soundtrack also really clicked it was fantastic the last like 45 minutes to hour the hour of this movie Just prepares it tears you up but I was glad to see you know him and Jenny you know they ended up getting married and the boy he had the boy so I I'm happy guys thank y'all thank y'all thank y'all so much for suggesting that movie is that emotional roller coaster I I was happy I was sad I was mad and ended up snot bugger crying like oh my goodness and it's crazy because uh this is such an iconic movie so sometimes when the movie when one of the uh scenes would start it would clicked me like oh I remember this but then there were some of them just as a kid that I didn't understand now watching back I'm like man like this movie Once you understand just the emotional aspect which I think is the most important part of the movie is even bigger than I thought and I thought my favorite line from the movie was I just felt like running I just feel like running yeah because I was a runner I was a kid when I had watched it but now as an adult there's so many good luck find so many lines in a relatable so many great ones I just loved how he he always he always did everybody fairly I mean he went back he he fulfilled his promise to uh to Bubba you know he he gave everything from the heart and like even the people who weren't nice to him he still gave them nothing but loved Lieutenant Dan was terrible to him at first and then then it came back to stand up for him that that right there just made me so happy and then you know he obviously he left the bubble gump in the hands of Dan and Dan coming back with them darn legs y'all that man started stepping out that car that got me that absolutely got me yeah and then he gave you know Bubba's family all that money to where they never had to work he changed so many people's life and I love how that mean that that might be the best move I've ever seen I it may be the best move I've ever seen no it was so good I'm sitting there trying to process it like oh it's just how much I can think about it like we got to see this man's life from beginning to the point to where he's ran out them braces he never stopped he never like he had so so many things working against him and he never stopped he never like it's a pure example of no matter what hand you're given you go out there and pretend like it's the best dang hand out there and I like how there were parts and they're like of course we cried a lot but there are Parts in where we laugh like uh something bit me that was my one of my favorite line for freaking Alabama and then have to say the stop the stop for us yeah yeah thank you guys but as we always send y'all out of here we hope you guys enjoyed watching this movie with us
