hey everybody I've got such a fun video for you today because we are talking about my favorite Bronco in the entire lineup and it's not the Raptor it's not the top of the line wild track it's this Bronco right here and I think that this vehicle is going to go down in history as being one of the most desired models because I'm not convinced sales numbers are going to be that high on this particular trim so in the Bronco lineup he's just got tons of options from the base model so the Big Ben the Outer Banks the wild track of course the Raptor the Black Diamond there's just so many variations but this one this one is something special this is a Ford Bronco Everglades and this is a really unique trim of the Bronco that offers a ton of really useful off-road accessories this is a vehicle that is not designed to impress your friends with straight line performance or flashy bling this is a vehicle designed for one purpose to be as good off-road and for long Overland Adventures as possible and to kind of demonstrate why I think this thing is so cool I brought along our first edition Bronco which is basically a fully loaded Edition and we're going to show some of the things that make this Everglades so unique so Alex why don't you come a little bit closer we'll talk about the front of these vehicles now essentially they both start out Life as a four-door Bronco but the power trains in these models are pretty different so let me pop the hood on this yellow model now most Broncos if you're going to be spending upwards of sixty thousand dollars as this one is are going to be equipped with a 2.7 liter twin turbo V6 heck I'd argue most folks are probably going to want to spec that engine if they are spending 50 55 60 Grand even because I think there's this perception as American that if you're spending that kind of change you want the most number of cylinders possible and you want the highest horsepower possible so this model like a lot of versions has that 2 7 twin turbo V6 now this is where things get really interesting right let's pop the hood on the Everglades the Everglades is only available in one engine and it's not that two seven twin turbo V6 it's not the Raptor 3 liter the Everglades comes with the four cylinder only the 2.3 liter turbocharged inline four now horsepower 300 horsepower torque 325 you want to get a tight shot in there not a whole ton to see but this is essentially the same engine that you'd find in the Ford Ranger and this is I think going to be the one factor that's going to limit sales of the Everglades because it is not a significantly more affordable Bronco than some of the higher trims this is still a 55 56 000 vehicle as equipped as you see it and going back to that perception I think a lot of Americans think if you're going to spend 55 56 Grand you'll want the big engine you want the six cylinder right because there's just this inherent thought that you're getting more value with the six cylinder you're certainly getting more power but the Everglades uses that smaller engine on purpose let's talk about this kit up front here this is an integrated worn winch this comes standard on the Everglades trim great for self-recovery now you got the winch plate you got the unique fairlade you've got the the synthetic line here but this whole combo added to the front of the vehicle adds about a hundred pounds which is funny because the weight difference between the two three and the two seven is about a hundred pounds according to the Ford Engineers so that weight that you are saving from going two seven to two three is Zen made up for by adding this kit but the other reason for Lord says that they expect the 2-3 in the Everglades is because they wanted the best possible economy and the most possible range for those long off-road Expeditions now we're going to take this thing for a ride in a second I think you'll find 300 horsepower is plenty in an off-road machine 325 torque even more plenty and this vehicle really scoots down the road with a ton of confidence now let's kind of do another little demonstration of some of the differences between the Everglades and this first edition Sasquatch Bronco let's take a look at the fender flares now this first edition as you'd find on like the wild track for example or every other Bronco except for the Raptor but every other standard line Bronco has round fender flares and it's not just the fender flares that around if you want to get closer here Alex you can actually see that the sheet metal is round so you've got this Arch this long continuous smooth Arch but Ford went as far as to change the sheet metal on the Everglades to make it unique so check this out it doesn't have that long continuous Arch instead it has a flattened top portion and then a steeper decline in the rear here and they had to address that in the actual metal themselves now when you look at manufacturers that do like a special edition and it's like stickers and wheels it's always cool but it doesn't cost that much because all you're doing is um taking a standard line vehicle slapping on some accessories and calling it new if you're actually changing the sheet metal that's a big change that is a substantial difference in the manufacturing process between model to model and that's exactly what Ford did on the Everglade so I actually like the look of the squared off flares I think they're fantastic and I'm really glad they did that now on top of that Ford has included some features that you get on these higher trim models for example you've got like the modular bumpers here you've got the you know big juicy recovery points here I think this one has a premium headlights as well but we got some more additions as we come along the side so Ford has added a snorkel on the Everglades Bronco this is actually a functional unit the air intake is up here how ever there's a little blocking plate where you can move front to rear depending on how you want it to suck in air you can see that back here but once again this is not simply for design so like Toyota on TRD Pro model like Tacoma you could get it with the desert air intake which looks like a snorkel but Toyota strongly says it's a desert air intake because it does not change the water forwarding capability whatsoever because there's a lot more that goes into water forwarding than just where the engine sucks in for example you got to not only consider the engine but the location of the breathers for the differentials and the transmission and once again Ford went as far as to not only add the snorkel but move the breathers for the differentials and the transmission to increase that forwarding height which is just fantastic now it does run on the same 35 inch tall tires as other Sasquatch Broncos but the wheel is entirely different so this is a 17 inch wheel in this kind of graphite finish and it's a simulated steel wheel design steel wheels making a big comeback but Ford wanted to keep the weight down wanted to have the thermal advantages that an alloy gives you so it is not an effective steel wheel but it's a really great design now coming along the side of the vehicle a lot of this is going to be standard Bronco door handles door finishes right the Everglades thing here is a little different you actually have these tick marks for your water forwarding which I always thought was pretty fun it does say Sasquatch siding see that it's supposed to be like a little topo map there I think it's pretty fun um and then coming along uh the roof here integrated roof bars intended for accessories once again the whole purpose of this vehicle designed to take you deep deep into the uh off-road terrain and then out back here full-size spare tire standard swing gate LED tail lights nothing too different between these two Broncos but let's take a quick peek on the inside and talk about some of the other reasons that this vehicle is so cool so Alex if you want to go open up that passenger side door now we're talking 50 55 56 Grand I actually have the sticker here uh 56 835 as equipped I don't know if you can see that there might have a bigger number here 56835 and that is after destination now that's a lot of money and another reason I think that folks are going to opt for um an outer banks for example or maybe step up to a wild track at that money is that the the Everglades is somewhat decontented compared to other Broncos so for example look at these seats what we're looking at here is a marine grade vinyl seat and I love that right this is a very durable seat design but it doesn't feel very premium for example that first edition has power seats we're still rolling manual seats here I think that's great keep the weight down keep the electronics to a minimum vinyl floors right love that but I think once again a lot of Americans are going to see 56 Grand and be like why the heck don't have do I not have leather why the heck do I not have carpet as we take a look at the inside here we do have some nice connectivity features we have the big screen we've got heated seats down here we have dual zone automatic climate control but on this trim we don't have the uh wireless charger right we don't have a heated steering wheel no ventilated seats that kind of thing so you do sacrifice some of features for those off-road add-ons like the winch and the snorkel and the special wheels and stuff but enough of me talking Alex I'll take the camera from you do you want to kind of hop in and then get buckled up and we'll take this thing for a spin a couple of nice things here you have the same instrument cluster as that Bronco same 10 speed on the mile slightly different because it's a four cylinder but 10-speed automatic transmission here you have four high four low all the goat modes now in terms of the capability rear locking diff front locking diff turn assist but they did not opt to equip this vehicle with the stay bar disconnect so other Sasquatch to quit Broncos like a wild track like a badlands you can spec with that sway bar disconnect this model does not have that as an option which I always thought was kind of a kind of an interesting choice I think they did that to kind of differentiate those models make them seem a little bit more capable but really with the front and the rear locking diffs and all the ground clearance and all the suspension tweaks this thing is going to go all the places that that's a yellow one's going to go in the real world I do have the car keys yeah don't worry yep I got them so let's take this four cylinder quit Bronco for a spin now four-door only in the Everglades um I'm pretty sure it's automatic only someone can let me know in the comments below but I think I think I remember when I was talking to Engineers Auto only um now you're looking at a vehicle five thousand pounds plus we're up here six thousand feet above sea level rolling in 35 inch tall tires so that does not sound like a recipe for performance now as we go into the goat modes here you want to kind of take a look we do have a sport setting so let's go and gauge that sport setting very nice it's going to go into four wheel drive Auto and we're going to go ahead and give this thing just a quick rip and see how the acceleration is okay A little bit of lag a lot of power at right around 3000 RPM and that 10 speed has such short ratios it does a great job of keeping you in that four to five thousand RPM range when you're really pushing it the power in this vehicle folks is plenty I was really skeptical to be honest you know we're locking looking at a big heavy wide vehicle at six thousand feet above sea level but this is more than adequate I would feel comfortable on this five people cruising up Interstate 70 here in Colorado nine ten thousand feet above sea level without a lot of concern so that was the big surprise for me right you expect this thing to be a little bit of a dog right four cylinders big heavy vehicle but it's got plenty of power as for the rest of the Driving Experience is great it really is the steering is quite precise the ride quality is excellent it uh it feels pretty good even over the rough washboard like roads right we're here on some dirt now it's comfortable it's pretty refined it's pretty quiet in here this vehicle is an absolute perfect Cruiser for a daily driver if you're just looking for something to kind of go to work maybe you don't care at all about the off-road features uh this is gonna do that it really is here we'll go ahead and spin around here and make our way back uh yeah the steering I mean I we just bought this JK Wrangler lifted three and a half inches to fit 35s and it's amazing how it's a good reminder and how good Ford has managed to make a stock vehicle on 35s perform right that vehicle was an incredible off-road that JK Wrangler but on road it's pretty jittery you get a lot of the downside of the solid axle so the steering is very vague and you have to spin it a lot to make Corrections and it's like it's like driving one of those 1980s um arcade games where you're constantly steering this thing precise drives like any other car if you've never been in an off-roader if you've never driven or even cared about an off-roader you could hop in this thing from a Prius and understand its driving characteristics so a couple other things worth noting about the Everglades with the roof rack it's going to be a little bit harder to pull off the roof panels for example um just because you've got those bars in the way Full Throttle cool noises too actually I'm going to put down this window wait till you hear this I think this is really cool I'm gonna hold the mic kind of by the window you hear that you actually get really cool little turbo blow-off noise you're gonna safely pass bicyclists yeah it's really cool that's one of my favorite things about having that snorkel is you actually get a lot more intake noise because you're moving that intake essentially two feet from the passenger's head and you open up that window and you get those cool sounds brakes are good highway ride is good hard top noise pretty acceptable once again I think you can only get the Everglades in a hard top no soft top configuration on this vehicle but ultimately what it comes down to the reason I think that this is going to be so sought after in the future is if you are looking to spend close to 60 Grand on a Bronco most folks are going to want a V6 most folks are going to want ventilated seats and carpets and and power seats and that kind of thing it takes a real hardcore Enthusiast to be like no I don't want those features what I want is a winch and a snorkel and vinyl floors instead and that's why I think that this vehicle is going to go down in history as one of the most iconic models I mean everyone want the Raptor Everyone likes the thought of cruising over the desert at 85 miles an hour but this is something really special this is something we don't see a lot in society nowadays right um this is like it's kind of like the Cadillac CTS-V wagon it's uh it's the car that all the enthusiasts say they want but nobody buys and I think that's what the Everglades is going to be so if you can get your hands on one be sure to do it it's awesome I like my favorite Bronco by far I get this over a raptor I get this over first edition or anything I just love it that much let me know what you guys think in the comment section below big thank you to new gal Alex behind the camera she's killing it and we'll see you on the next episode
