Ford SCREWED Buyers, Now They're Paying The Price

all right pups we got us outside again in the heat in the sun we're at a local Ford dealership and here's the deal yes remember Market adjustments um they don't seem to apply at this dealership not only do they not seem to apply there are a ton of trucks let me let me turn we got rows of vehicles here folks yeah and those roads the vehicle Dad they are no longer Market adjustments oh absolutely not Market adjustments are a thing of the past yes at least at least here at this particular dealership of the MSRP from the manufacturer 71 935 and they're only at a ceramic coating with a three-year warranty for 277 dollars as opposed to some of those other ceramic coats for like three thousand dollars the ones that keep you warm in the winter and here's the deal we actually so we'll pull it up in a second we ran the market day supply for this vehicle Merit the reason you are no longer seeing Market adjustments that there was a 250 days supply for this type of truck yes in this region Yes Ford built so many of these you just said it 72 000 truck yes and they're not selling no damn good looking love the color uh by the way it's Area 51 blue so if you ever want to attract the UFO this is the color no I'm serious if they're out there you know and what do you think we this way okay that's another video for another day for the online advertised price is actually sixty eight thousand dollars so off the bat you know that the market has changed if you go to a Ford dealer near you and they say oh no sorry the market conditions everything like that we still are we're doing you know Market adjustments on our trucks go to another dealership this is a perfect example it is indeed um and this is this is an example of a dealer that is trying to be I dare I say a fair uh transparent and somewhat up front because that's what it seems like to me uh especially with the 277 dollar charge for ceramic coating all right let's go look at a few other ones we actually saw a lightning here as well and uh surprise surprise no Market adjustment on that either so I think I think the storyline here Dad is a couple months ago Ford dealerships Market adjustments Galore nowadays not so much let me go pull up that cartridge report though for this one so we can look at the market day supply data check out the lightning and then some pretty ugly Broncos okay I'm in all right pops caredge.com report why am I going there because this is the tool that truly levels the playing field between you and the dealer it it it almost puts you in total control [Music] all right so here's the exact track I found it on car Edge and I said 250 day supply I was wrong it's a 210 day supply you can see what we think the fair price would be dead 63 240 and that's because there's a 210 day supply there's 531 available for sale just like this one and 114 have sold in the last 45 days they got this one pretty recently 32 days ago but obviously the days of Market adjustments are well behind us so yeah the good news is they should only have to hold on to this for I don't know another another 170 days or so before they sell it so it would make more sense I don't know take a few more dollars off and get rid of the damn thing at least in the world that I come from in automotive don't you think that's what a lot of Ford dealers are thinking right now if they've got inventory expensive inventories it's it's not quite as bad as Ram or Jeep but I mean it's bad yeah it's bad they've got too much too many vehicles they're starting to sit the day supply starting to build up you they need to to make them disappear floor plan interest rates are higher than they've been in 20 years so yeah the cost of sitting on this inventory has skyrocketed all right let's go check out that lightning okay all right pops we found an elusive Ford F-150 Lightning 88 405 dollar price but no markups and this one's actually sold yes two only two ads on this vehicle uh protection film I have no idea I know what it is it's for the door Edge door Edge uh let's explain that to everyone because yeah you just touched it so George protectors and clear door cup protectors so that you don't scratch the paint when you put your hand in there to open it up and the ceramic coating so between that my God you got you got you got like the condom of condoms for pickup trucks okay you're protected um but but I mean what you see here is that there really is limited mark because what you just said was 199 and 277 and maybe the customer negotiated that off of the out the door price but we've seen extensive markups on lightnings but not on this one and not at this dealership and this is the only one we've seen on there a lot yes the only lightning we've found and it's sold it literally has a sold sticker you know and and still 88 000 for a for a an electric pickup truck just seems like a lot of money to me but as I like to say what the hell do I know uh you know so here we are looking at a another one of their trucks on the lot this is a uh uh 2023 F-150 4x4 Super Crew limited okay spoken like a true truck guy I'm not um a total MSRP is 86 570 86 570 and then there's that two-year three-year uh ceramic coat for 277 so they're only asking 86 847 so here's what's cool that they've had this truck on their Lots yeah 66 days they're online advertised prices 81 190. we think it's a 75 500 truck hundred day supply there's only 40 of them for sale and 18 have sold in the last 45 days you can't be selling that many eighty six thousand dollar trucks right now can you um I don't believe you can but then again what do I know I'm not a truck guy I had to read the label to understand what the hell it was but remember a couple months ago this would have had four thousand dollar market adjustment there's probably still dealers out there too doing that right now I don't know that it was a couple months ago but but perhaps six seven eight months ago there were huge Market adjustments on these vehicles and today they're just not damn good looking truck um and and maybe it really is an 86 000 truck or a 75.5 truck in our eyes um but I personally I just don't see it I I don't know there's so many other vehicles that can do just as much for so much less being on the lot here it becomes very clear that Ford made the business decision to go up Market 86 847 pickup truck and consumers have finally started a boat with their wallets and not buy them at that price point and said to hell with it yeah it's starting to happen it's pretty cool to see it really is all right pop so we're walking around the one thing this Ford dealership has a lot of Mustang Mach ease yeah so not only were there a bunch of pickup trucks sitting around in the inventory growing for that we found a bunch of Mustang monkeys and here's the deal dad phone it up on car Edge we found one of them here 73 days on the lot they're asking 55 000 for it 187 days Supply in this region wow what do you make of it um maybe the Eevee Revolution at Ford isn't as revolutionary as they were hoping for it apparently when it comes to EVS it's not a Ford takeover it's still a Tesla takeover um the price disparity is huge 55 000 maquis versus a model 3 or a model y cheaper yes significant and and at this dealership there are six brand new ones that we can see there's five back here and one on a front display pad on the on the highway my suspicion is that there's probably one in the showroom as well but we know of at least six and and they're just sitting sitting collecting dust um you know and I thought everybody and their brother wanted some some type of Ford electric vehicle uh maybe even Jim Farley doesn't want one I don't know hey want to give a shout out we uh we're here at Chapman Ford in Egg Harbor Township the only markups we saw I think we saw one vehicle with a markup and that was a work truck and maybe that was because there was a cabin chassis and we saw a navigator with them oh yeah Navigator had a 3 000 markup but seems like a dealership that's not doing markups which is a good thing to see especially as the market conditions are changing yeah if you've done business
