so this is a mustang would you like one oh just taking your is this your opinion about it would you rather have a mustang or a pole star this one is roughly like 13 000 euro more expensive you can pay probably in terms we can probably find a leasing agreement maybe we can exchange for milk i like milk especially for protein shakes no i think they're not impressed not interested huh no tough crowd tough crowd that's not the target audience of a mustang [Music] [Applause] [Music] good morning comrades welcome back to the channel welcome back to not too far away from the nurburgring welcome to a video where we will be talking about the ford mustang mac e now a couple of things before we're going to do that first of all i believe by now everyone who is interested in buying one or finding out more about it since the car has been already on the market for quite some time many of you already should know a lot about it so i wanted to do something different ford didn't allow me to go up with it on the nurburgring something what we do most often so we need to do something else different so then i asked them if it would be okay if i would compare it to pulse star 2 a car that i have from paul star for a year in total by now almost half a year that i drove almost 10 000 kilometers with it and i also asked paul star if it would be okay if i could compare their car to this car and both brands said please go ahead because we want an honest unbiased opinion but i want you to know that i had pulsar for quite a long time whereas in this case mac-e i had literally for a week but it stood still biting dust for six days up until today and the car will be picked up in one hour so we had to rush and do a couple of things so it's a bit hectic but i think it's interesting to tell you this perspective of me knowing what i love and like less about the pulse star versus my first impression of this car and knowing like to have a bit of a benchmark so yes let's get started we'll walk around around the features let's see if we're going to have time about driving for driving the car but we definitely should have for some nice b-rolls of the footage etc so this particular mustang mac e is a all-wheel drive version with extra big battery and 97.8 kilowatts i believe good for roughly 580 kilometers range on paper um actually numbers we'll talk about them later first of all let's talk about the styling when it comes to this car and for me personally it doesn't matter if you want to buy this car you need to either like it or hate it doesn't matter what i think about it i think personally in black it looks kind of meh within the nice blue or the orange colors that ford is offering it looks great when you look at the wheels it's kind of the brakes are good and the all the mustangs they come standardly equipped with these big relatively big size calipers whereas with a pulse star you need to opt for a performance pack where you get the big brake caliper from brembo now next thing that i actually like here is this charging pod or the like where you plug in your plug to charge up your car obviously the thing is i realized with pulse r2 you have it on the back there and whenever you want to charge the car you actually end up parking it in reverse so you would have the charger behind you plug it in here walk around the cable scan your cart walk back and sit in the car for example whereas here you park it straight towards it you'd have the thing here plug it in and then it's kind of more convenient more manufacturers have it also on the front when you think of i think nikon audi rs ethernet gt etc then in addition you have also the this ring here slash light slash indicator that shows how much of a charge it has so for example with the pulse star i find myself i either need to look on my phone which takes a bit of time to load up the app or i need to open the door and see like um how many percent are we charged up whereas here you can have more or less a nice indicator and if you're using the fast charger here you have this just like this what's it called this door for the additional cc2 charger that you just open and close and with the postar it's more of a thing that you pull out and kind of hanging loose can scratch your paint and whatnot you need to hang it a bit there so this is actually i like it more here on this car now moving on the very interesting way of how to enter the car is you have here this button you press it the door goes open the earlier videos that i've seen from other journalists they did not have this handle i believe they put it on later and for which they had some additional needed to get additional approval from like the pedestrian safety etc so it came on which is good because if it's only without it it lets me know that the key is outside in the ignition still and we'll get back to that point in a bit if you don't have the handle like you don't have it on the rear door you need to grab the door here and open and to close it the issue that i have here except for the fact that it's kind of inconvenient who is getting in the rear most often kids or your friend who's not allowed to sit on the front seat and the kids might be awkward and your bro his brother or sister might slam the kid or something while it's holding the door like this and with the does it have a soft clothes no it doesn't but it still can be an awkward situation so i kind of i might be overthinking things but i just prefer like a traditional door handle where you don't can don't have the cannot have the awkwardness of smashing your fingers moving on a bit back something that i this component again talking from driver's perspective something from everyday use pulse r2 has one of the most beautiful components is actually the framers mirrors however although this mirror is just like basically this plastic here i found this have a lot better view especially when you drive the car at night and you want to reverse parking i found this car have a lot better overview from the mirrors as well from the rear view camera something we'll get on later on uh to talk more in detail about so again there's like positives and negatives too to both cars um and then again it's also my personal opinion so some things you might think you're like who cares about mirrors but some for everyday use you might and later on we're going to be talking about performance driving you might say who cares about that so but yeah we do the rear is quite nice we don't have any fake exhausts here um like what's called signature mustang taillights i like that feature um yeah will it it should do the opening things but it doesn't now it does so it takes some time but it is we have all our camera gear here so we need to remember for tomorrow when we will be shooting some extra b-roll of the pulse start to put the exactly same camera gear tomorrow in the pulsar or maybe later on today when we still have daylight to see to compare the boot sizes it looks i'm not sure if it's it's kind of similar we really need to find out well how big if there is actually any difference but you can put a lot of stuff in there i mean if you're really gonna base your purchase on the there's a handle but there's also a button convenient if you don't like modern technology you can always use the handle can we no need to use the button that's it when it comes to the outside aha one more thing this one has a wiper the poster doesn't have a rear wiper so that's actually an extra bonus plus now what else do we have i think that's pretty much it when it comes to the stuff that we see here um yeah that's i guess check it on the inside now one thing that is actually quite good this car when you get in and or get out we're gonna switch off the headlights now adrian because then the car can be a bit quiet the seat is moved completely to the back for you so you have easy access and then once you turn the ignition on in this case off because the ignition was on in any case when the ignition is off the seat is moved completely backwards you turn the ignition on and then it goes back to your additional driving position makes entering and exiting the the car significantly well a lot more easier now it is going to go yeah okay now the the sound is off so we can uh continue talking a bit more about the interior and now first of all about the driving position this is the lowest that i can go we can go higher how much higher quite a lot i don't need that because the lowest here is significantly higher than on the pulse star it could be important for you if you like like really the sporty driving position be as low as possible to the ground then you might prefer that more this car in general since we already started talking about driving i find personally posted driving for my preference personal preference more to my personal style this means more sporty so steering is a lot more direct thanks to the url and suspension that you get on the pulse star whereas here there is it's it's still it's to today's standards it's good it's not as sharp as a tesla because tesla is ridiculously sharp but it's also definitely also not as direct as a pulse star because you have also the the basic dampers but then again if you would spec your poster as a basic with basic dampers you would not you'd probably have also the same softness speaking of the softness the seats significantly more soft than on the pulse tire it's not a big deal because on the front seats and the poster i have no issues with it whatsoever i find it still one of the most comfortable seats when it comes to side bolsters i on the pulsar i think they offer a lot more pre like support so especially if you do like some more sporty driving not only on the track but also just like twisty roads then it offers a bit more support whereas here you also slide a lot because you have ladder um whereas on a pulsar with the the normal the base package that i have you get more support and speaking of the driving the brake pedal on this car i'm not sure if it's on all the cars or because of the way the brakes are flashed or etc it's a lot more firm on the pulsar whereas here you have you do have some brake pedal travel and it really gets um yeah you really need to get used to it but again this is most importantly this is a personal preference because at the end of the day even the pulse r2 should be used as a daily i had people getting in with me in the poll started saying like misha why the hell is this car so like tight is this a race car like why is it so like so firm the suspension is so hard it's like like so it might be you really need to know that this is just softer and it could be really your thing but this this the difference is definitely very noticeable now another thing what i find actually quite i dislike on this car when it comes to again to comparison to both cars the lane assist is constantly on on this car so you need to automatically every time you start it you need to turn it off otherwise the car is going to like correct the lanes for you most of the times it goes well but that one time when it goes wrong it might go wrong quite badly and you didn't want there in the first place so you need to switch it off or turn it on if you want to on the pulsar you need to turn it on yourself if you want to have it running now when it comes to accessibility you do have this start button here uh there is no engine that you need to start like internal combustion engine but it does require you to either start or switch off which in a poster you don't have you just get in the car you put it in gear you drive you put it in park you get out done here i found it quite annoying to an extent when you have for example now the ignition is on it says the driver door is open the other other so suppose i arrived somewhere i drop it off i get out of the car i want to close it we have here the lock can you please no it doesn't allow us to close it because it says the ignition is on i'm like but it's parked still and it's kind of like accessibility just like a small little thing now the things that i really love about this car is that something that robert mentioned and you will see later on in the video that we had a very long talk with him who also owns a full startup uh since recently there are a lot of things that you do like overall the interior quality is really premium you have various different materials you have good cup holders here that are not as awkward as in the pulse r2 which is like positioned here and you kind of you want to have your elbow rested there so here they're convenient here it's good but then again europeans make quite often jokes about us cars that the only difference about you us cars versus europeans is that the cup holders are bigger for your king size menu so cup holders are important in u.s smart cars now all this is jokes aside lots of space here very convenient and speaking of vigorous better according to us philosophy again european joke big screen really really like it 10 years ago we would have all laughed at it why the hell you stick an ipad into your car nowadays actually bigger is better and it's also more convenient because you can have a very good overlook of what is happening where you can have multiple various information and as mentioned previously the rear view camera for me personally was actually significantly better on this car than it is on the pulse star in addition the the extra visibility just a small nerd detail that you get the rear tail lights the the in like the the rear gear light the white light that's engaged when you have when you the reverse light is a lot brighter in this car which contributes to the night visibility when you're reversing it and pulsar is kind of small and it's uh yeah you need to really pay attention where you're going yeah the screen is offering lots of information what i did not really like here or like let's say where i like on pulsar is that it works on android-based software here it's it looks like i don't know exact name of this but i guess it's an in-house software that is running so for example gps where on pulsar you have google maps which you can in the evening at home or from your phone you can already look where you want to go and it automatically links to your account and it shows you the destination where that you looked up on your phone it's kind of convenient here i realized that actually you cannot look for places because you can of course connect the the car to android auto and apple carplay which can be very convenient which majority of people will probably end up doing anyway but we're talking about the base features of the car at this point because of course you can buy all kinds of things etc but you cannot for example look up for i want to go to nurburgring it will not find it you didn't need to put in the address and it took quite some time to actually navigate like to to look at the address to to calculate the route so that was kind of like not that big fan but for the rest actually many many options that are being offered through the screen that we can probably film a complete video on to tell you more about it so overall i think the screen wise and accessibility they are on par because although you really need to decide for yourself what you like more because minimalism of pole starters could be also a big advantage which definitely suits that interior but when you say like hey i want really tacky gadgety thing this could be your thing so i like them both for their own reasons not a big fan of the gear selector this twisty round thing but yeah it's there it's uh it does its job you can select the gear um you can also you also have the low gear if you're doing some off-roading some hill climbing or going downhill can be convenient can be nice and yeah lots of storage space the big win over pole star for this car don't fall adrian we still need you we need to shoot some b-roll the car grease is the rear seats thing that i really don't like in the polestar 2 are the seats in the rear if you are like an adult it's you can drive with it for one hour maybe one and a half but after that it gets kind of uncomfortable here you have lots of leg room because now the seat is even i'm not sure if it moved backwards because the the thing is the ignition is on but even if it now it is set to my driving position and you have lots of leg room and lots of headroom as well but they're also very soft and comfortable so that's very good the final thing which shouldn't be really a deal breaker to you when you're comparing the two cars is the front and you need to pull it twice just like a bmw so car agrees do you associate yourself with bmw i guess so the front space is significantly bigger than we can find on the pulse star but as mentioned that should not be a deal breaker one thing however when you want to close it i don't want to break it but you need to apply some force so it could be one thing now the final thing that should be a deal breaker is you really need to decide what is for you really important when it comes to purchasing a car because at the end of the day we're comparing not necessarily apples to pears but maybe lemons to oranges they're both citrus but they're kind of differences so okay let's not get sidetracked but those are quite different cars you need to decide do you like the sporty handling or do you like the space more do you want to have like a swedish mini realistic design or something like plain maybe that could be a thing people want to not actually stand out in the crowd but just like be on on the background unless you want to put some fancy color on because then you can be on the front as well that's a very big difference but then comes the price with pole star you have the base model i think around 50 000 euro the one that we have with all the performance specs and all the safety features and yada yada yada was 62 000 something something hundred euros this car in base is sixty two thousand euro the one that is right now here i'm just gonna look to be on my phone to be precise that we know exactly it is around seventy three thousand with the technology pack two so you have the panoramic roof you have the bang olufsen speakers etc the numbers this car has 351 horsepower and 580 newton meters of torque whereas polstar 2 has after the performance software upgrades 476 horsepower and 686 i believe newton meters so it's a faster car you can also definitely feel it and it drives really sporty but if the sporty characteristics are not necessarily your thing you definitely should go for this car because it could be definitely more comfortable so you really need to decide for your own i'm just again laying out all the features out there if you want to have more faster car then and at the same time comfortable then mustang gt is going to come out soon which is going to have again let me have a look on my phone to be precise um it's going to have 487 horsepower which is one horsepower more no 476 no 11 horsepower more than the pulse r2 with performance upgrades and 860 newton meters of torque and zero to 104.4 but the starting price is going to be from 77 so then an additional 10 probably for extended battery and technology pack so it's going to be quite an expensive car and then again pulsar 3 is going to come out and yada yada yada but so in comparison to those two cars it's quite yeah you really have to decide what's your thing for me my honest opinion is as of now what i'm doing with the cars which is driving on the track occasionally and just doing enjoying driving like through the twisty roads that we have here around the nurburgring i give pulsar 2 the preference and also the accessibility and just getting in the car forgetting about it and having the google maps those things are definitely do it for me if later on i would have children at some point then probably this might be like a better version just because it's more comfortable and i don't know kind of like that you know what i've been talking for quite some time and let's actually let's hear what other people have to say because as mentioned this car was standing in biting dust and we had to wash it and before that happened um some other guests for from apex were around and asked them opinion and after that we'll ask what robert had to say about it so that's it from my side let me know what you think of it i would really like to hear some uh owners of both cars of pole star and mac e in the comments to give their opinion what's their favorite least favorite feature of their particular car and what they would like to improve because hopefully both manufacturers are watching and they can see what can be done better and benchmark against each other etc so lots of talking different type of video that you use for me adrian's gonna hate me for having to insert all the b-roll um but yeah that's how life is see you bye i have actually another favorite to ask so i have this mustang here and i'm doing like kind of a review but i might be a bit biased because i'm driving pulsar for quite a long time okay could i have your opinion on the car you can just hop in like all kinds of things go check it out you guys don't have a look i would like to like see what you what you think of it i think it's going in the right direction okay i think so you can go on the other side yeah doesn't make sense it does actually make sound you have like a there's a possibility to have sound made these seats are very comfortable but what are you doing when the key doesn't work out of the battery instead it's a good question for me my issue is is when you have kids and they need to pull the door open they can slap their fingers because that's why but the front because for example the front does have those hooks here yeah it's definitely it's not too much yeah it's minimalistic that's like tesla with twenty thousand uh tvs and that's just uh it's a good car nice if you fit in the back yes i still have space and it's even it's uh because look when i close the door then the seats when i move forward i think starting it's going forward and are you sitting now comfortable i'm sitting comfortable yeah a lot of people hate it from no i kind of like it it's good yeah yeah some other actually cause they uh it doesn't look like the car anymore with this one right right over there kind of looks like the bumpers okay yes i guess that's good do you have space in the front too yeah oh well i mean you can take those brakes off yeah you can think it out and just a few clips and then you have inner space that's a great car yes yeah it's a great car it's beautiful how much do you think it costs so it has this option has uh 380 horsepower and the range about 540 kilometers range upon it starts from 62. with all the options like this car with extended battery and some features on the inside it's around 75. thanks for your opinion much appreciated so first impressions my first impression is that i'm not a huge fan of outside styling okay because it's really funny because on the electric cars i think some people are going entirely too futuristic yeah and i think but i think on the other hand this is too rounded okay it almost reminds me of like old what was the porsche cayenne like yeah the first hood and stuff like so i'm not i'm not too in love with that because i think it could have been sharpened up a little bit just make it look a little more modern yeah one overly futuristic but i think a little bit more modern no but i mean overall i think it looks like it's well built i was looking at all the body lines and just the overall construction i mean just when you come over here and hit this button you know it's that's all quality you can you can tell that everything about it like working the door feels it feels like a let's say a company that's been around for a long time and it feels like their car should feel well i haven't even sat inside of it yet let's check that out what kind of sound system does this have in it it's like some premium bose 15 speaker no banging olufsen i say that because when i turned it on i could hear that it was actually a really nice sound system just it made some noises yeah and you could tell it was quality this is kind of cool i'll give him this but this is cool how you can see the screen yeah through the button i really do like that so first impression when i get in here is it's nice it's clean i like the big i like the big screen i like the big screen of the pull star but this is even bigger yep um they have some really cool 3d effects on it which again i actually kind of like like has apple carplay you know the pull start doesn't this isn't too important for you but the pull star still doesn't have carpet okay and then everyone's waiting for that to come out waiting for that to come out and this this already has it and i imagine this is going to be wireless apple carplay whereas the pull start when it comes out to plug the cable i see 57 243 kilometers if that's true then that means it should have close to 400 kilometer range which is pretty good that's right one federal drive on and off i see okay yeah that's actually neat you know this is what's kind of cool about when you're getting into electric cars is they've got the ability you know to let's bring in something else 675 lt when you when you let off the gas and you're just sitting there it doesn't roll but a 720 does yeah you know and with these electric cars you can start to program these things because it's all computer it's not you're not relying on a clutch you're not relying on anything it's all computers so you have this one pedal drive and in my pull star i have it set up that when i back up i it breaks it auto breaks and stops the car so i don't just let off the gas and i don't pick up my phone and keep rolling backwards thinking that i'm stopped yes there's a lot of little things like that so you've got the one pedal drive oh you're an untamed mode of course that's the wild mustang and you have propulsion sound so it makes like sort of a v6 oh really it sounds wow charge let's see status 57 um so you've got charge scheduling so some people have do you know what that's about some people get a night tariff basically is what they call it where you get cheaper energy at night so you can actually go in and say don't start charging until 10 pm i don't know didn't see the feature in poster oh they do actually yeah you can schedule the charge in the pull star as well yeah i mean honestly it's clean it's cool these two guys right here are going to be really what sets it apart in the market everyone that owns a pull star complains about the cup holder situation that's really unfortunate um they've got a cup holder in here which is useless because that's kind of where your arm goes so they're really you know it's really nice of them to do that um another thing that's nice about this that i would say is better than the polestar is that there's no uh piano what do they call piano finish black paint yeah it's gonna get scratched up because that will ultimately get damaged in my car it'll get scratched up over time so i know i mean as a whole i like it um i like that all of the finishes are leather in this one that's obviously an option we could take in the polestar but i didn't so i think it's a four and a half thousand year option could be yeah so i didn't go the low i went to the mid-level one yeah on mine because i like how it looks but i'm starting to notice that maybe dust and dirt gets in it and you have to work on getting it out of there yeah yeah yeah the seats are definitely like also very soft they're they're cushy you know i will say that i drove like again um 11 hours down to italy and the pole star and of all the cars that i've driven there short of maybe back when i had the a long which was really comfortable seats um it was the most comfortable uh seat and i added up for 11 hours i didn't want to get over the seat i was really happy about that then let's go look at the trunk real quick because that's going to be the big paneling the family decider i think oh the frank is significantly bigger actually i saw a faulty chip yeah you can unscrew these things yeah then you can take them out and just have whatever you want up here yeah i like that now this is for when you go to the normal charger yeah and you're just getting up to 11 or 22 kilowatt i don't know what this does probably eleven and then let's go see the front do they give an option for your phone to be your key i don't think this is bigger it's not as deep yeah i would almost say that the pulse star might have more more trunk space because i think the pull star is deeper this feels like it might be a little bit wider but then on the holster you've got that big hole in the back yeah which is here filled with equipment i mean you obviously get something in there but is that a ford wall box look at that thing i like it that's like our juice box that we have yep i think that uh you know a small family like two kids could go on vacation in this pretty easily i mean some people take everything they got with them but they need like the pickup truck is like as like a you know second second vehicle but i think we you know we travel pretty light you can fit everything you need in here i like it thank you for your for my expert advice yeah opinion
