okay [Music] welcome back into the pole star too welcome back to the channel uh good morning and uh i am very excited for all the reasons first of all again for having joao kim next to me the man behind chassis development of poststar one two in this case and i'm excited to be back in pole star two um we had this car not this exact car but this type of car earlier beginning of the year and actually i looked back on the onboards and it was even snowing back then like there was snow lying next to the track and for that reason because it was kind of late winter on the nova crane we had it on winter tires and ever since i actually never got the car on summer tires to do a lap and do some fun with it but now here we are the cars on summer tires and actually look what type of tires these are what are we running sport contact six okay nice special development for this car together with a performance chassis nice i'm excited to test those and in addition i believe this is not completely stock car i think you've done something more to it i want to say that when i saw the you refer to it as the beast in goodwood festival of speed the modified pulse r2 i was like hmm please bring this to the nurburgring you did not bring like that car but it's something similar or something in between what are we driving no this is a production setup at the chassis but adjust the damper later for your driving style and we might put them in sport and well that's it okay and yeah i'm very curious to see how it works here at the track with summer tires i mean it's testing a performance chassis on winter tires that's only you can do that so well let's call it experiencing and uh back then but then can i invite you to north of sweden over there you can see how the wintertime i would love that because this car on snow and ice and maybe it's even better than newbury i don't know i can't imagine some uh exciting benefits of that now while we're rolling onto the track uh what i need to ask you something i sometimes wonder certain things in life like how many stars out there will formula one ever come back to the neighborhood notch life and why on earth would you create a family electric sedan aimed at the mid market or even pretty much entry level market but with such crazy performance goodies earning suspension big brakes why because this car is made for people who love to drive cars but they have a family they need to have a car in daily use as well but why not i mean true you should have fun when we drive to work and this is the car for that true but also sometimes make a detour yeah actually a lot of people have told me well i got some it's so fun to drive so i make a detour i need some other stuff are we in sport modes and all the things that we need [Music] [Music] driving faster i think this has a bit more power than the stock pulsar i don't know no way yes it is but you have so much ice now yes yeah that's the difference wow yeah but you also feel the balance however actually i adjusted them first if you have three kick in the front and four in the rear because you have a different driving style yeah so you feel support in the car it's really impressive brakes are phenomenal and this is what i addressed already before when i drove the car for the first time yeah it's it's really good it's really impressive yeah but if you have a lean stampers bramble cannot fake this don't break yeah we have corners and we have other traffic we need to take it easy well with the understeer alphago on the gas or under the air of the corner we need to have the same sticks for this of course it's possible but it's but this is tires are getting a bit hot we need to make it slightly easier eucalyptus is slow i'm not saying slow i'm saying easier okay yeah wow i mean now we have speed limit here anyway that we need to take it easy for so all right we give them an excuse of the time driver this is the tricky part because it's appeal yeah and the ferrari machines in front of us they have perhaps a bit more power yeah 600 ish horsepower whereas us having wow what the speed come on don't push me [Laughter] you were crazy i thought all right that barrier looks very real i was saying that speed speed was okay but the tire was too hot uh corner too tight yeah yeah i know but in this case the tire was still hot but it's doing well here it flies through it 200 through this player what have you done to this car honestly because the previous model the previous model was going into limb boat by uh in this section it was already overheating so there is something different to it yeah the power is exactly the same as today production yeah but we have test [Music] different uh yeah we collect the heating of course okay so more efficient cooling yeah that's what we change but power is production okay 408 horsepower okay yes we gradually improve we go from winter tires to summer tires to semi-slicks yes that's the next step okay next question i remember carousel why is there no seat belt tensioning yeah why should yeah it works that way maybe they look at your youtube no but it's it's the way poolstar work we out and testing collect a lot of data data and when we use it and optimize the car so the car will be optimized over the air yeah yeah it continues working to find new solutions yeah and yeah sorry but a bit there are a lot of course corner to the overtaking but [Music] the thing is with this car have tuned for um the distribution distribution between the front and rear axle so when you come into the curb like that you just hit the front will rotate and support you yeah but yeah you know it's unbelievable yeah that's me driving good slightly yeah it's nice to give you some tips [Music] roughly thousands per year okay but very few that were this one is this if you need driving support call pokestop but we've been doing it all the time you were always emailing me after every video was published you'd say like hey try this suspension something try this try that yeah oh my god wow yeah i say the same your driver is crazy and it's honestly you know again i want to emphasize on the fact that the last car the production car went and this is you like you said also the future development of production car went in to reduce power mode by mood curve like 60 into the track length and now we're at the end of the track and we still 62 percent of the battery state of charge yes yeah we have pretty much full power i believe that i can address because the previous one the limp mode so to say went into like close to 60 percent of power maybe 50. you really felt the the drawback yeah yeah but now we were yeah but it's it's a significant improvement yeah and i think that's the most important thing and it's nice to be here and just see you and that's yeah exactly and that's honestly the biggest question or concern that people have when it comes to electric vehicles performance electric vehicles what can you do with them on the track getting a big thumbs up for people what can you do with them on the track and you are limited either by the state of charge or the recharging capacity these are things that constant development being worked on but of course also more importantly or as important is an actual continuous performance on the track itself yes and but there is one more thing temperature at the battery exactly and that's that's part part of it so you can so you're able to maintain that performance exactly and it shows that you don't need the like the next generation battery is solid state systems or etc you can relatively easy of course after having gathered lots of data and testing but relatively easy give you more performance by just simply improving the cooling yeah and that is that's one other key to keep the performance in the car dude this was amazing yes it's that's all i have to say it's this was extremely fun like when you can keep up with with these super cars with again without down talking a family sedan yeah and we have a trailer hook at the car still oh yeah yeah too we have but you have to face it we have done special tire for this car tune them together with continental a lean stamper we have spent thousands of hours together we need elites to tune the dampers we optimize the engines a lot of work yeah it should work it's no you can feel the balance and and more importantly i want to finish on the like on a very important note or actually like the only small type of negativity that you would sometimes get whenever like uh people are talking about poster they say poster used to be a performance brand but now electric vehicles there's nothing for me man look at this if this does not embody his performance then so again thank you very much natalie for letting me experience this car this i would say it's a pleasure to sit beside where you drive a new bringer yeah i got the experience i'm gonna talk to alex after this see if they can get me a sweet leasing deal on one of those because that is amazing yeah well one final funny story there was a track day tomorrow and i wanted to enter with this car and so i got the night entry because they said you're gonna be too slow because we have all the supercars and uh they will complain that you are gonna be too slow yeah i don't know but [Laughter] yeah no but the car works yes but the most important thing it's fun to draw you feel like you're in control you can handle it yes and that's what we have been working with yeah no it's uh the whole package works because most of you can have lots of power or you can have no power and therefore it can be controllable or you can have lots of power and it cannot be controllable either by handling or by brakes and in this case everything works we had no brake fading we had constant control the other thing of course limiting factor is a tire but there's three tires developed for people who need to have consistency to and uh someday you can rain at night exactly them or snow or hail but still same mistakes put that on your agenda list thank you very much
