FLYING AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 HOURS!

[Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] what's up guys I'm here at Greenwich in London the center of the time itself why am I saying that that building behind me is the Royal Observatory here at Greenwich and it's the centre of Greenwich Mean Time the prime meridian which is zero degrees longitude either way we right the way through the centre of that building there this sundial right here in the beautiful Greenwich Park sits on the centre of the pear what does that mean quite simply if I stand at right just here I am in the eastern hemisphere and if I start just here I'm in the Western Hemisphere today I'm heading that way you see Phileas Fogg famously went around the world in 80 days and that these things that seems like a look a bit of an easy challenge so I'm gonna do it the hard way I'm gonna be flying around the world in 80 hours from here at Glen itch all the way around the world and back here to Greenwich again where I leave the home Monday evening so right now it is just approaching 9 a.m. on a Friday morning and I need some back here at least sundown by 5:00 p.m. on Monday evening can I do it can I get around the world in 80 hours well there's only one way to find out it's 9:00 a.m. let's go flying so my first fight on this crazy invention leaves in just under three hours time but it's Rita which is right across the other side of London I really should have thought this through a little bit getting from Greenwich to Heathrow Airport where public transport isn't really an easy undertaking I had to get the DLR across to Bank from there it was a tube across at Lancaster Gate before I walked a little bit before getting the heater Express from Paddington all the way to the Central Terminal zappy through airport from there I had to hop onto a TfL rail service that took me for the last little hop from terminal 2 and 3 down to terminal 4 all right so here at Heathrow Terminal for my flight leaves in about an hour's time it stopped me hour and 45 minutes to across London on the DLR the tube p4 expressed but now I am here eternal find somewhere to check-in thank you [Music] after what was a brutal trip down to New Zealand and back in my 71 hours video I decided this time I'll take this a little bit more easy and go for business class this wasn't really because I was trying to be a snob or anything but I got some really cheap deals as I'll explain later on in this video but also I won't be sleeping in any hotels that's all on this day so I really needed to make sure that I got my sleep [Music] as we lay back in head towards a Middle East let me talk you through the rue the we're gonna take on this 80 hours round-the-world trip the ring that I had across to Kuwait from pure 80s across to Delhi in India before hopping down to Ahmedabad and Mumbai from there I'm flying down to Singapore with Singapore Airlines and from Singapore it will be a crushed to Los Angeles in the USA hopping about 24 hours on an Airbus a350 from LA to be back to London Heathrow on a Virgin Atlantic Dreamliner its flight gets a little bit weird it's now three hours until we land it's into the flightmare 47 minutes 7 intercom some of the hook ladies and gentlemen they are come to add a great note Istanbul international effort to take care of the medical case of work thank you that will explain why we are doing a medicalization to Istanbul case a recovery of the century we now both - come on is that now going straight to Kuwait does this sunsets a very rocky it was time to sit back watch the Sun set up window as well as watching tain that on TV spot you a tell is at least have someone says when it comes to entertain thank you very much survivor view a security line for connecting flights of Kuwait was pretty intense fortunately blisters cast passed news reporter site we were given a separate security line as the beautiful Court Americans through the airport I headed down to the al mubarak II allowed in at Kuwait this is Kuwait Airways a larger international airport [Music] thank you thank you right so here if you reach international level to the river like your essential lounge this top one on the Great Hall world above it's quite interesting to prohibit whisper just 30 years ago over a month ago as a kid like in the UK I've seen q8 in the news all the time for the wrong reasons I'm never thinking for a minute that I've ever be so around anyway it's a fantastic fight back victory to our way to really enjoy though we need the excitement that we have almost having a diversion that's really nice right over sitting here now in the Mubarak ear lounge of course drinking diet coke because he makes a dry country and of course it is Ramadan at the moment as well I shall remain sober I'm stoked on caffeine and to really at least so yeah truth next stop is W in India and I'm looking for words this is not the QA to sy on another triple seven four so in business class okay thank your own really for me it was interesting to see the global coffee chain Starbucks have even made their way to Kuwait even McDonald's is coming soon to be way too [Music] after a couple of hours it was time to go fight - at this trip now to Delhi in Italy [Music] so I am on board I'm heading to India I have to say that city view looks absolutely stunning while it's a bit naughty Paris abatement off my plate to you of the day of our six points around the world this were heading from here when he's been to Delhi in India three hours left it starts white trying a few hours sleep so we lent it to Delhi at midnight at UK time but then I've got my three flags to do through India and then obviously Singapore I'm really gonna be able to sleep on those domestic wonders so probably not going to get to sleep until some point tomorrow UK time so every little bit of sleep counts at this moment all really nice couldn't be flatbed to line so I might as well make the most of it at least got a couple of hours even nothing else I got my head down I decided to try getting a few hours sleep okay so I haven't really slept that well to be honest as expected because we're nearing the end of the flying's remember my time zone in the UK it's been about this so I'm going for about half an hour left it would be the perfect time show you this really crazy room that we've had to do took away Pakistani airspace the route that we should have done straight across Pakistan too deli thanks to all this airspace being closed off here with all the conflicts in Pakistan we've had to fly this really crazy route from QA heats cluster around all the way down out into the Arabian Sea off the coast of Pakistan that's was Mumbai and then this crazy don't blow away appear towards Delhi yeah that's about an hour to the flights and 500 miles and the crews on this flight do two flights back to back we get to Delhi and back on the same lines mr. Howard needs an extra two hours on my shift for them as well as trying to lift my attendance earlier and she said that is prison it's a really long shifts now and they do the deli shift so it's not great for anybody really as dawn broke over in the East it was time to come outside he said down into the really murky skies over India [Music] [Music] [Music] immigration at Delhi took quite a long while they wouldn't let me into the country until they were really certain that I was gonna be heading out again trying to explain that I was a youtuber and I was only staying for a few hours it was pretty difficult to get across to the immigration guy I have to say but fortunately he understood in the end and stunt my passport and I came no no no just connecting oh right and so I'm here at the brilliant hot sticky and frizzy Delhi International Airport Indira Gandhi Airport here in Delhi in India sacrified on Kuwait Airways where absolutely fantastic Iron Man two hot spots across Delhi Airport to another terminal I think to try and find my way through determine where the star Airlines godaddy am I'm trying next on this crazy adventure down to our medopad check out the security guard on the left here this was something that I saw at every single Airport in India thank you it feels really good to be coming into the air condition terminal answer for horrible smoking out there it's just crazy a few minutes and it was get into my chest it's really bad I'm not used to reading so crazy trying to gain for the terminal here there are several different checkpoints to get through just to get into the terminal I said getting into the terminal in the first place wasn't hard enough getting through security to get si is another level lot together security here is freaking insane because in the US the TSA oh my god security they say take out your electronics I did what I normally do it's like on my phone I tap that I'm just put them in the tray he looked for about ten minutes against the security points and my bug gets thrown back I mean he said electronics akari electronics and I said what all of them so they were right over for the queue and of course I have trouble with so much electronics this train was just overflowing with something no idea Alice or it any better in the trade and they would have done their funny went through are you sure you know everything's out outside here and he said unusually true he's looking at me as if he knows that there's someone who helps him there and I'm thinking there's nothing else in there and there wasn't any way so we went through the gate then you have to get Francie down and he wanted to see my boarding pass which of course has went through the x-ray machine so I had to go back again and get my boarding pass and then finally threw my back out me and that was it just absolutely in fake excited finally just having a little bit off entick indian meal and it is authentic Indian which you can't get a tiny little zinger and a tiny little poke pilots but in the UK it was soon time to head down to the gate wait for my fries over on this story like every other fight in this video I'll be doing a separate review with the star don't forget to check it out I really didn't enjoy this star I've got a really good product in India [Music] we touch down right sometimes I'm an Indiana State Oh matter therefore had a completely different point as much as security was still pretty intense it's a really different experience the evening seemed really friendly there this guy even wanted a selfie with me like so I'm here now in Ahmedabad in India somewhere that's was my one two third flight how to think I'm coming up to 24 hours since I left the sundial at Greenwich around here in a very sunny very hot very sweaty India I mean you've got kind of legacy the top looks over there I'm gonna take a walk over there actually locally I'm gonna get to see in the real India I think because it's a little bit crazy you can see the spotlight so it took something's over there so it's very very no taxi thank you everybody what's the center a taxi so yes here in our medabots and I'm gonna head back inside now because my next flight is with indigo down to Mumbai I matter by that is really strange like indeed one side it looks absolutely stunning the security checkpoint here is something else I've never seen a security checkpoint or you have to walk through our temple wall to get to it or at least the main operational security was still pretty intense and there were separate male and female Keys he had to get proposed to she went through aside however it was a completely different matter it was absolutely yes I have found somewhere a little bit quiet a little bit cooler there's an upstairs level it actually does have several restaurants within this subway KFC I'd want kind of see can I get away with another one today no sorry that sounds insisted absolutely put suit for the bathroom but it is absolutely awful there is a lounge it's a priority pass around just turn the back there which I'm kind of reluctant to use because I'm trying to get the authentic Indian experience of sitting in the lounge isn't Milton to give you an experience but I guess made us to carefully uh so quite quick you know found out by the way that my mom made about is a love Mahatma Gandhi here opened up some sort of temple or something here we had some sort of link to our medical items like museums and statues are from everywhere all around the airport so it's quite interesting minutes flight is in two and a half hours so the reason I've booked all these eggs these massive weights in between flights I kind of made the mistake when I went to Kazakhstan of not even enough time between flights taking into account local conditions and they don't missing my flight and did want to do the same here yes thank you thank you so still not giving in and gone to the lounge the lounge is just right there do not do now by an hour left in my fine come on no you can do this [Music] it's now don't know why I'm looking at my watch but my battery's long died on that it's now 24 hours exactly since I left the sundial at Greenwich in London actually really really exhausting they're just about to board my indigo flight down to Mumbai and I've got like seven and a half I helped us him Mumbai before my flight got a flatbed on it Singapore finally it was time to port my indigo flying out to Mumbai in Dakar a low-cost airline here in India so it was really interesting to see how low-cost is done in this part well again there will be a separate video review of indigo but to be honest there wasn't much to distinguish them from any of the low-cost airline and where else for the world [Music] [Music] oh my god I've just had a revelation I think I've just realized I don't know why it's taking me so much for her there in bigger India Karen [Music] I just thought it was going to landing in Mumbai I thought to be a completely surreal experience different to any of the proto had anywhere else in the world after flying really low over the mountains their massive mansions and fancy apartment block before the extreme poverty of this part of the world became an interview flying low over the slums of Mumbai seeing kids playing football on dusty patches of man witnessing the immense poverty here in abundance was an experience that really impacted me [Music] but Mumbai we are here for flights down three to go next flight is about seven hours from here and we're trying to look at if I get into it terminal building here look at the holes here don't they Singapore Airlines next down Singapore and then across to LAX okay now I have calmed down a little bit let me explain to you just what on earth happened outside the airport so I didn't realize is that Mumbai Airport has a separate International Terminal to the domestic terminal which a lot of efforts over they do I didn't realize it in its six kilometers away I never now happen was I came out of the terminal domestic terminal and a guy who could kind of see me looking to the airport what time you gonna flash a car what time do you take us with you it takes me based on this war good lord to a line of cars take something any Hindu the guy in the cap gets me in the back of the car and the guy says write $20 as I okay sounds British Stephen $20 thinking okay it's not for 15 pounds door shuts this security guard comes running over to the car the guy who's took me to the car shouts at me first don't listen to him he's gonna try and get you to get out you just tell him that were your friends was like what at this point in long bells are ringing in my head and the opens is like you need to get out get out get out get out it's like okay I had absolutely no idea what was going on the guy who took me I was pleading with me to stay guy walked me I was determining goes you nearly got robbed I thought what he said taxi to the International Terminal which cost 200 rupees which is about two pounds Wow Wow this guy is he was miss come near her sleep thankfully by the guy who remembers the prepaid taxes and all over to get on from there and then take the hair reason right over here so once again no gets stoned by dodgy foreign taxes and they have in the Ukraine it's happened in Kazakhstan and I never learned my lesson do I so if you're connecting between domestic and international here a number I ask me any second to pound isn't you've got to drive into town grab a motorway from somewhere else it's father's name is a certain way but fortunately they have a dedicated business that's in first class check-in area just here be relatively and they've got clean toilets as well which is all water better clean his toilet I've seen since pinin India Texas and I'm gonna round the world in 80 hours to populate I know that you'll be better on the long leg anyways alright thanks very much that my boy as well as dedicated checking there's a dedicated security point here at Mumbai as well which was a lot easier than the other ones that I've experienced in India I headed up to the GVK lounge at Mumbai which is the labs of Singapore Airlines thanks very much CEO thank you I was just in time to witness this amazing Indian sunset after shell renew freshening up was time to relax enjoy this amazing life the staff here were really friendly this lady brought me as many drinks as I wanted and even set up my phone to connect to the Wi-Fi when I couldn't get it to work [Music] now this is a lot more like it showered teeth clean change to feel like a human being again or at least half a human you more importantly I have fine my first wine of the trip this is much better couple of hours now until my flight over to Singapore which will be flight to number five as much as I've enjoyed witnessing India I'd find it pretty exhausting it was time to get on board a Singapore allies fighting or it hopefully get some sleep [Music] I put the bet down went to sleep within minutes of taking off goodbye and woke up as we were final operation to Singapore [Music] at last I was it's an airport that was pretty familiar to me not that I've been through several times before by Singapore this is at home of the mileage room and time now to to my connecting flight to LA Changi Airport ins cups of picking massing the singapore airlines operate from two terminals so i had to get a sky tram across to the other terminal where my flight to LAX was gonna be a party i forget a good chance to have a look around the cactus garden in the lily garden which was amazing to be able to stand in such a beautiful place and look out through the crazy for absolutely engaged mansion outside my right Overton Los Angeles this Singapore Airlines 8350 we're sitting on stand getting prepared for departure 15:04 thank you the fungus parts of this trip it may be 15 hours long oh shoot I see what happened very nice we had a beautiful taken from Singapore I was able to sit back and relax for the warmest period that I'd have on this journey if they come from Singapore flight time today's about 14 to 15 hours so I'm going to be first of all sleeping because right now and you can tell me to to him so I'm going to have like to be also have that see how much sleep I can why a few people have been asking me home to excel ready why I am taking this flight to LA when I could have probably taken the world's longest flight from Singapore because New York that flight is so long in fact that it can go either way it doesn't have to go over that is he faking in fact the shortest way to get from Singapore to New York is to get back over Europe over now under into New York my way depending on the weather and the hungry wind sometimes it goes as the disease I wish the timing goes around as if it will it's not guaranteed at all if I don't believe fly there was every possibility that I could have come all the way the Singapore we have back tracks all the way back to the UK that would have been essentially flying over my house and then going another eight hours over to New York before having to build another plane the Faculty of the UK again few problems with that first of all I think that would be absolutely soul-destroying to actually see pretty much England out of the window of the plane and then carry on to New York but also it wouldn't be a true around the world that way la flights and the San Francisco flight always go over the Pacific Ocean my body thought was telling me it was 3:00 in the morning so how they come into it to make up my bed got my head now for a really nice sleep numerous impersonation [Music] just woken up don't know where we are actually was somewhere over the Pacific we've got about six hours left to go I've just slept for seven powers which was pretty decent on my abdomen back this bed is so comfortable and it was really easy to get sleep and stay asleep so combine that seven hours on this flight with the three hours on the last fly I've slept for ten hours more importantly just cross the International Dateline so we've just done back in time 24 hours so we get to do Sunday again familiarity to be honest listen to some amazing music [Music] as we cruise down over Southern California it was great to get a view of a merry-go-round the window I listened to some appropriate music as we came in over the suburbs event now I know that I'm not American but landing in LA really felt like I was coming home at least compared to the other parts of the world that I traveled to on the rest of this trip [Music] Thank You Ellie early here in Los Angeles lead across the Pacific Ocean with Singapore Airlines gots about 12 hours or so to my next flight listen to be back on familiar turf even if I am in the space you pay is that close to home got a few hours here I'm gonna hopefully meet up with my friend who he's got a little bit of a surprise for us I am told but I have an Anubis somewhere so I'm gonna head over there and try to find out where to go now though I have been told by my friend Ali to head over to 32:23 Donald Douglas Lubin sound all very critter I called an uber and within five minutes my right had arrived to take me to the mysterious location right so we're here at 3223 Donald Douglas Drive which turns out to be Santa Monica Airport he's also giving me an aircraft tail number so I'll be leaving we've potentially gonna get a ride on a plane I didn't have to wait too long and I saw my friend arrive in his grooving aa5 how you doing alright alright so here at Santa Monica Airport what's the International but I think you're gonna get very international from here this is my friend Alice very finely flown up from San Diego and it's gonna take me for a little spin in this what is it criminal it's a grumman a-fib actually it's an American general h5b which was a an updated version of the tiger but when you look at what it is when you file a flight plan or something it's still an 85 so they have it an expert in himself and we're gonna go for a little fly we're going to take a fifty dollar hamburger and go get some lunch somewhere and just have a fly around California first dr. Davis camera level that's a 20-minute flight north of Santa Monica where we grab some lunch and wait for the clouds burn off [Music] after a pretty brief flight up at about 6,000 feet we started our descent down into Camarillo this really is celebrity town as we came in on final approach Caitlyn Jenner was behind us in her beach wearing also based out of camera work energy hell of course Harrison Ford when we kept a good eye out for in the saxophone there's also a wing of the commemorative Air Force in meaning we can see some amazing old warbirds as we taxied after an amazing bunch of the famous white wine cafe and some incredible tri-tip steak it's time to take off again is stone heavier than when we arrived [Music] I was able to sit on the left as we have this after would San Diego and the clouds have cleared giving an amazing pave over our heads this is an experience that I've always wanted to do and I just wish that I've got my SLR camera to try getting some of those famous shows even without a fancy SLR though if he was incredible as we crossed our hedges [Music] we headed down the coast towards Long Beach got a view of the Queen Mary sitting there with a cruise ship at the side of her [Music] we got air traffic control clearance than to descend to 500 feet who farm right along the Sunset Cliffs National Park as we headed down to water San Diego it was incredible flying solo just off the coast of California and there we headed around and got some fantastic views of the San Diego skyline we've got some incredible views of the city of San Diego and its famous skyline with the USS Midway stressed out in the harbor [Music] our scenic tour of the Bay Area's San Diego complete we made a u-turn headed back towards Montgomery field which is parallax that would be today [Music] [Music] alright guys so we are here in San Diego California we flew down from Camarillo right down the coast from LA down to San Diego was a fantastic fly about an hour one in the Gruman that you can see right behind me we've got a little bit of time you spend a couple of hours in my flight isn't for another few hours yet back up from Elliot we're gonna play around here a little bit have a bite to eat and then head back up towards our lake after a few hours chillin at my friend's apartment is San Diego we headed back to Montgomery to get that's why they eggs in time for my flight incredibly high-tech rafter able to London LAX even though the landing fees are recei expect pretty high instead we opted to fly into Hawthorne which is about a 15 minute drive from LA amid this parallel approach next to a Boeing 747 not something that you get to do very often in light aircraft in the UK [Music] after an incredible day flying around the skies of Southern California it was time to jump in a new book make fifteen minute drive back to LAX alright so back here at LAX Terminal two fantastic day flying with Allie down today with a friend big thanks to Allie for flying me all around California today and gave me a great opportunity to see California from the sky now I am heading inside I am worn out Virgin Atlantic Dreamliner back to London Heathrow hopefully with enough time for me to shoot across London to get back to Greenwich 5 p.m. last play of the tree absolutely one and truly exhausted I think this last one is just going to be spent sleeping on the plate if I like to give it to your sale of a brief foot to be obviously something that I really had an issue isn't always been quite happy smiley friendly intimate little exception [Music] after a long kick my is I always love hearing of British voices I bought the flight it means an almost out Thank You Emma hi [Music] after the seatbelt signs went off the flatbed came down and I went to sleep of what was the best night's sleep I've ever had on board authority after an incredible eight hours of unbroken sleep I woke up over the western islands of Scotland we prefer to commence our descent down into London I've just woken up after eight hours asleep on this boy slit this is definitely the most I've slept on any flight and I slept quite a while on the Singapore which was eight hours it's when seems tough to take off didn't even have dinner and I've just woken up and we're over northern Scotland so I put at least eight supposed to be nine hours sleep on this fire very comfortable them from sleep whether they give you air as well be sleep suits again yes getting breakfast now we are due to London about an hour's time into Heathrow which gives me roughly an hour and a half to get through immigration and get back to Greenwich to five o'clock so it's being really tight and plataforma smoothly so let's keep fingers crossed and see how we do and hopefully we get back to grange for 5:00 p.m. okay so before we landed London a few questions I know I'm gonna go back to the boat it's crazy trip around the world and we're first question is why am I doing this well this is what I do I'm an aviation income a massive travel fan very fortunate to be able to do this as my job and I create aviation content like this and creates challenges secondly am i some sort of rich kid who flies around the world in business class all the time well no I'm able to do this because I find cheap fliers all the time cheap fares to be able to take advantages to fly this absurd I've worked very hard for 22 years in IT and really YouTube channel up over the time I've got a wife and two kids back at home you're very understanding and very supportive and I will be able to do this sort of thing without them in terms of how much this trip cost me well let's put it this way it cost me less than the price of any usual one-way flight bumped into New York in business class and that's because I use a combination of websites and things defined cheap fair sale fair their affairs wherever they come out to this chip kind of all started with a fare from Mumbai to LA via Singapore with Singapore Airlines thanks to big sale they have that cost me like and I don't regret this particular flight long now was the return leg of a another cheap fire I got from monster so you Los Angeles but there might only our him like a few weeks ago and this is the return leg from LA back to you I love them FY it basically cost me 600 quid which compared to the usual fare about four grounders massive saving I don't play that for mine finally I have to get to Mumbai of course so I opted to go to Delhi initially with q8 Airways that again was a cheap fare that was like 900 quid and then the two flies down India like 50 quid each it's all in all is cost me less than for two and a half grams it's a tie around the world trip and the usual one-way business class fare from London to New York's about 3 grand so it just kind of shows you how much money you can save just by looking around approaching I mean today was from the West which gave us some great views over the English countryside and Windsor Castle as we came in on our final approach to runway 9 after a throw touchdown and home at last well almost I still have a little problem of getting back to Greenwich right so here at Heathrow yes back in the UK there's so good the weather isn't amazing now got to get back to brilliant she's half past three so to come in a bit of a rush now and I've got to get back to Greenwich four fives of an hour and a half to get through immigration do the journey that took me an hour and half before that thankfully just how a message from somebody who's going to be giving me a hand together crutch to grow as quickly as possible are you good alright so I am here out Heathrow this is Reese he's been a very kind of take me across on this little thing to Greenwich how cool is this thanks to limo bike who have offered two minutes to get back to Greenwich so traffic returned unless he having dude [Music] we headed off through the streets of London what was quite possibly the most exciting taxi ride that I've ever had [Music] the limo bike experience was absolutely incredible took us past all the sciences we crossed run two wars Greenwich and I write a race was in constant communication over the headset 28-ounce all the sizes we miss past all the traffic towards the same pilot wreckage I could hardly contain the excitement on my face [Music] sweet jelly time of less than 15 minutes we've made it to Greenwich I still had a few minutes to go there was a heading towards us on get through all right foot here at Greenwich we have got six minutes to get back to these sundial sorry eight yeah houses we start off on Friday there it is [Music] made it 16:54 we have six minutes to spare I'm gonna come in the shape so I could show you the time there we go 16:54 it is five minutes to 5:00 on Monday we made it with five minutes to spare thank you so much to limo bike for have for me to get across London so quickly crazy crazy trip around the world I can't believe that it's just been 80 hours since I left this very sundial and I've been the entire way around the world see some incredible things India Singapore Kuwait America California all of the lost all over the last 80 hours a new
