hi all welcome back i'm erin the two martini stitcher here on youtube and instagram and i am back for a fairly unconventional flosstube update as you can see i'm in my car um a little bit of life update i guess it's been a while since i've done a regular flosstube update i did a regular flosstube update um at the end of april i think at the end of april right before um may and i did like stitch mayhem in may and did a whole bunch of new starts and worked on things from the previous may and i did daily videos in may so i did short little daily videos in may and then june hit and i planned to go back to the plan was to go back to just regular flosstube updates but june has been nuts it has been so crazy busy and it just kept not happening um so we had a very very busy june our middle daughter graduated my middle daughter graduated from high school and that meant that my in-laws and my mom came out to visit which was just unbelievably fantastic because we had not seen my in-laws for a year and a half had not seen my mother in almost two years she she had not seen the kids in almost three uh three years so that was amazing but just so so busy having uh you know visiting family was really busy and there was just a lot going on with graduation and graduation parties and then we rolled right into the end of the dance season we just finished up all of our dance showcases there was a very special senior night uh they did a very special senior showcase for all the seniors this year and now we're in um preparation for dance nationals which means i leave day after tomorrow oh it is wednesday wednesday june 30th it's it's the end of june so all of june flew by and i kept thinking that i was going to fit in a flosstube and it kept not happening we'd be so busy during the day and i would sometimes think oh i'll i'll do it in the evening after dinner and then i would have no energy or emotional energy either physical or emotional energy to do it after like everything settled down for the evening so today uh it's been very busy week at the dance studio and i have to sit here for three hours uh because just the way the rehearsal schedule worked out we live far from our dance studio the girls dance studio and um so it's an hour drive each way so becca the youngest has a three hour rehearsal today which means there's no point in me dropping her off driving home turning around and coming back which means i just sit around for three hours and i thought flosstube update when i first started watching flosstube uh i don't know two and a half three years ago maybe i don't know time time has become a flat circle when i first started watching flosstube julie kansas city girl in colorado world who is an amazing wonderful human being and if you're not watching julie you absolutely need to go watch julie um just for many many reasons um she's fantastic but when i first started watching her she was doing flosstube in her car i think she did them on our like lunch hour at work and she'd be sitting in her car and i remember thinking this is a little strange but i totally dig it and she is just a cool human being and so uh today when i was like i have these three hours to kill and you know i really need to get a flosstube done i thought flosstube in the car here we go so i have my tote of projects here so this is going to be just a full on june wrap-up stitching and knitting report because there's been knitting i picked up the knitting again too okay and then i'm leaving uh for dance team nationals day after tomorrow we're flying to las vegas and spending a little over a week in las vegas uh i would be lying if i said i wasn't super uh a little anxious about traveling it's the first time we've traveled i'm so grateful that everybody in my family is fully vaccinated i would not be making this trip probably otherwise but it's definitely going to be strange like i've forgotten how to pack we're starting to think about packing and i we used to travel all the time and now it's been like you know a year and a half more than that since we traveled it's like i've forgotten how to pack anyhow so i'm going to be gone so as much as i would like to say i'm going to get right back on a regular schedule that's probably not going to be happening um but i will pop back in uh when we return in a couple weeks however i don't think there's going to be much stitching to show i don't think there's going to be a lot of stitching while we're in uh las vegas because it's going to be very very busy with dan's team competition so but i have lots to show i have lots and lots of projects to show for june so we should just jump into it i think so my plan going into june was to jump back in to semi sane stitcher's events and i was planning to do the stitchimal pursuit so it was a take on trivial pursuit and uh there were categories for each of the colors really really fun i love love love semi-sane uh started out working on stitch them all pursuit i love that you know when you land you had to do like 200 or 300 stitches having a goal like i have to put this many stitches in this project before i switch projects is very good for me but unfortunately this month like a week or two weeks in facebook started like losing its mind and just going bananas and you couldn't post in events for a few days and then i think they got it resolved but then i never jumped back in then it became sweewey like just stitch what i want when i wanted i went full sweetly this month but i kind of grouped projects into kind of categories to show so i couldn't tell you when exactly i stitched these uh or what day but there were reasons that i picked up all these projects so we will i think just jump in i would give you more life update but life has just been been nuts that's how you know that things are getting back to norm i hate to say normal because i don't think that we should go back to normal but things are definitely opening up again and getting busier again it feels like for better or for worse so um yeah i don't i don't know what more to give you life update wise other than to say we've had a lot of big momentous things going on this this uh month can you tell them a little still a little discombobulated uh with graduations oh we also moved uh my older daughter back home for the summer um she's a college student and so we moved her back home for the summer it's been a busy busy month but i was stitching where i could and i'll tell you what i'll pop some pictures of abby's graduation in right here so you can see the girls okay see fun graduation stuff so all fun great stuff going on this month but has just left me a little uh happy overwhelmed happy overwhelmed all right so let's jump into stitching because it's been like almost 10 minutes and i haven't showed you any stitching uh so first up i did jump on the 25 7 bandwagon i i've not always but there have been times that i have done something sort of like this where i've picked a project that i worked on like that was the first project i would work on every day and i would put one or two you know lengths of floss in it or whatever it's never but it never been a time based thing but i love the idea and it is it is the perfect way to get good progress on especially for me projects that i might not naturally pick up anyway so i really wanted my 25 7 project to be a joyous day i started that on inauguration day and i thought oh it'd be really great to have it done um by like next uh january 20th so like in the first year uh of this administration but i knew in my heart the project that really i really really needed to do 25 7 with was crosses of the kingdom so i am stitching this this is by rosewood manor i'm stitching this as a 50th anniversary gift for my parents their 50th anniversary is next august which seems far away but it's not and i know it's going to sneak up on me and i don't naturally gravitate towards this project i would pick it up once a month and put a little bit in it but it's going to need more than that to get done so i decided that this would be my first 25 7 project and i would just pick it up and i would work on it for at least 25 minutes every day until not until it was done because i'd be forever but i gave it i think like three weeks of doing that and then i got to you'll see a good what i felt like was a good stopping point and so i decided to switch projects for a little bit just so i didn't get burnt out and sick of this because if i get sick of it i'll put it down and not pick it up for a long time i can't do that i wish i had taken a picture of where this was when i started if i have one i'll put it in here i'm not sure i do but it might be a photo that got close you know like i i took that was close to um when i picked it up first for 25.7 but i made what i feel like in those few weeks was really good progress so here is where it is now i hope the lights okay that is the one thing the light is going to be a little strange we've had an unprecedented heat wave here in the pacific northwest um which was just it was showcase weekend and we were supposed to have all the dance showcases outside and it was like 111 degrees anyhow but today we finally have some clouds so hopefully the light's okay so this is where i got to um i know i think i had maybe just started this one here so i know that i've done i did all of this um while i was doing 25 7. so there we go i'll get that nice and close so you can see but this is the bottom of the piece so i reached the bottom i worked my way down the left-hand side to the bottom and decided that that was just going to be a good place to stop for a little bit open this up is that better or worse we'll see we'll see you might be able to hear some road noise too um so there we go so i feel really good about that progress and now i've picked up a different project just for a little bit as the needle falls out um i think when i get back uh from our trip i will pick this back up again for 25.7 and get going on it again but that's really good progress i am stitching this on a 32 count white linen with anchor black and petite treasure braid in pb40 so there we go crosses of the kingdom um and yeah i'm just gonna this is gonna be the 25 7 project for the most part until it's done i mean i might take a little break here and there uh so i don't burn out on it but that's gonna be it where am i gonna put these in the back i guess okay so when i switched i had picked up this project for its birthday this project had its birthday and when i pulled it out i was like you know this isn't on my whip go board i'm still failing hard at whip go i was like this isn't on my whip go board but it feels like it could be a finish and it was a 2019 start uh for me so this was its second birthday and i just thought there's no reason for this whip to be hanging around i should just put this in the to the 25 7 rotation and finish it so uh that project is autumn drum by the blue flower this was an exclusive to acorns and threads i think it still is but i but i believe that if you call acorns and threads you can still get this it was sold as a kit um and i i love it so this is what the side of the drum looks like i had already finished the top um and now i'm just working on the drum part and this with just a little bit every day gets good progress so this is where i am so i think when i picked it up i had like just a tiny little bit of the sea when i picked it up for its birthday and so between that day and 25 7 for the past like four or five i've gotten the c done and that squirrel the o done and now i'm gonna work on the r so i have r n s and some acorns so i think that's that's what's going to happen is i'm going to rotate crosses of the kingdom and the autumn drum until autumn strum is finished and then i'll pick another one to rotate in with crosses of the kingdom so yeah autumn drum and i'll show you the top i've had the top done for a little bit it's a little wrinkly so there's the top all done and yeah and these are am are my husband's initials and em are mine and if you've been around for a while you'll know because this was done for acorns and threads it says a and t on it and so i was gonna do my plan was to do my initials and the year but when i first started stitching this was my very first one over one stitching that i ever did because it was charted with an a i put am and it wasn't until later that i realized those aren't my initials but they're my husband's initials so i left them because i wasn't going to pull out the very first one over one stitching i'd ever done so i left his initials in and just put my initials because yeah why not um you know why not we're both nuts he's nuts for sticking with me all these years that's for sure we're all a little nuts here it's fine okay uh and that is on 36 count linen in flax it came the kit came with a a beautiful 40 count lakeside linen uh oh there's a train hopefully it's a quick train and not a long train train tracks are like one block that way oh it's a long train it's okay uh but it came with a beautiful 40 count like side linen the kit did but i was too scared this is right when i got back into stitching and i was too scared to try 40 count so i swapped it out but um it also it's all silk it's gloriana and bell soi i think silk so it comes with the beautiful silks it was also the first time i ever stitched with silks it's dangerous it's dangerous to stitch with silk because they're fantastic and then that's all you want to do is stitch with silk okay so the next couple projects our new starts are things that i started in june and i only have a couple uh juna's pride happy pride uh pride month and so of course i wanted to start a pride piece and it had to be the trans pride tapestry this piece is so amazing and um i just i just love this this is i need here we go kara has the art information so it's original art by carrie knockin and the pattern is by d stitches um these 20 stitches so you can go their instagram i can't remember if it was i think it must have been on etsy um but i love this because d it paid the artist to chart this and um just just fantastic just it's just a fantastic piece so excited so i started that it's charted in dmc and i decided it had to go on the fabric from my rainbow box from black needle society i mean it had to right so this is 16 count aida in the colorway hue by fortnite fabrics and i'm just i'm using the dmc and i didn't get a ton done but there's my start what do we think i was very nervous i'm not gonna lie about using this fabric this is way outside my comfort zone to use something so colorful and modeled and i was worried about you know the pattern getting lost but like the big unicorn's gonna be right here uh so i think that'll be great and i'm going for it and so far i love it love it so there is that and love is greater than heat that's from um space cat crafting i'll link below uh i'll link below her etsy shop for the needle minders because great needle binders space cat crafting that's right i'm sure that's right just you know something sometimes things just fly right out of your brain but there we go there's my start on the transpired tapestry and uh yeah so i'm gonna be doing that in all the dmc it calls for the gorgeous glittery unicorn to be in uh dmc diamante diamond die mont i don't know how you pronounce that uh and so i went looking for it at my like local local needle workshop threadneedle street and uh denise the owner there she was she says she's not really that much of a fan of the diamond i hadn't used it before but she's so knowledgeable about threads it's also a needlepoint shop and i feel like this is i feel like that's better without the light coming in off the top uh she's so knowledgeable about threads and she said it's a three-strand twist and so it tends to come undone and i had thought about a tall but a white atoll is not white it's like gray uh and so denise suggested this cry neck this uh number four number four braid and so i think this is what i'm gonna do the unicorn in is it can you see how glittery and shiny white this is i don't think you can it's bright white with a gorgeous iridescent shine to it is going to make that unicorn amazing um and so this is the number it's five seven six zero five seven six zero uh number four braid cry neck so that's what i'm gonna do the unicorn in and the little gold here is going to be in a tall and then everything else is dmc i love it love it so i started that i think on the first i think i started that right at the very beginning of pride month and then um oh i had a start and a finish that is put away with my finishes and so i didn't grab it uh later in the month i just felt like a new start i had hit a roadblock with another whip that i'll show you in a bit and so i decided just to have a quick start and finish on summer catch etching by heart and hand from punch needle and primitive stitcher magazine from last summer i'd already done two out of the four of the series so this is the third i did and i'll put a picture of it right here so that was summer catch etching it took a few days like it took probably longer than it should have to start and finish that but it was just a busy time and um i love it so now all i have left to do are the owls so i will start those uh in the fall i think i started summer etching either on summer stoles this summer solstice or maybe the day after summer solstice uh so there we go see it was a start and a finish that's the only finish i think i've had this month pretty sure pretty sure that's the only finish i've had this month and it was a start and a finish but i've only had one other start and that is um this very special project from hello from liz matthews called needle in hand and this was for the acorns and threads 25th anniversary bash um i had signed up to go got the kit and then could not attend the the zoom party i thought i was going to be able to pop in it was showcase day this past weekend so it was just on sunday uh the 27th and i thought i was going to be able to pop in for like the first hour or so to open up the package but then the girls had showcases like midday into the afternoon well with 111 degree temperatures they moved all the showtimes way way way up to try to catch the coolest part of the day and uh so i i miss the hole i miss the whole party which is kind of becoming a theme with me um i also got the box for a black needle society retreat that's going to be over uh when i'm in vegas so i'm not going to be able to attend so that's apparently my new mo is to pay for the event get all the goodies and not be able to attend but i had to start i had had to start this on sunday even though i couldn't um go party with all the acorns and threads ladies i just oh i love this how perfect is it liz matthews she's a genius yes she is look at those colors um so this came as a kit so i'm using i'm just using all the kit stuff uh i assume that this is 36 count bisque linen that came in the kit because that's what's called for by color and cotton i could be wrong but um and then it's all dmc and here is my start i've actually worked on this two evenings because i wanted to get started on a little more than just the border so there's my start on needle in hand with needle in hand and joy in my heart if annie did not get this and go to that event she needs this pattern she needs it needs to have it so that is my start on needle in hand so that was it that was my those were my starts and three starts one finish and then the rest was just sweewie on the whips um so let's see so this next section is what i'm calling i had a birthday birthday celebrations uh because i like to stitch on my whips on their birthday mostly i mean one because should celebrate their birthday and then also to make sure if it's something that i haven't stitched especially if i have been stitched on in a while but i still like it and want to keep it so it's a good way for me to put my hands on all of my whips every year um everything gets touched at least once and kind of gets evaluated so quaker geometric puzzle had a birthday uh by ink circles yeah i still love this piece i still love this piece it's so big i don't know when i'll finish it this is on my whip go board for five days so now it's had one it'll need some more and [Music] this is my progress on it so when i worked on it i did i think i had a little bit of this done but i got all the rest of that motif done so there we go this is on 32 count white evenweave with the called for dmc in this colorway um tracy has two colorways tracy horner of ink circles has two color ways on there there's one that's kind of greens and blues and there's one this one that's like all different jewel tones so that is my progress on quaker geometric puzzle this would be a nice one like after i'm done with crosses of the kingdom to make my 25 7 project but you know you've seen crosses the kingdom so we're a ways away from that okay next project that had a birthday was this fantastic piece a stitch for sweet freedom i started this last year on juneteenth for diversity and inclusion cell so i got it out um this year on june so then here's my progress oh i love this um i did all of the red of her blouse when i stitched on it so i that that's the progress that i made was the red of her blouse i love this piece i don't want to wait until next june to get this out again so i don't know when else i don't know when i'll work on it again but i sure love it i sure love it and i know after i do the blouse i'm going to get down to like her skirt which i think is a bit of a beast but oh it's so pretty it's so pretty gorgeous lindy stitches you know can we just just take a moment for like how amazing uh our cross-stitch designers are genius so so much creative genius out there okay and then the last project that had a birthday this month was knee-high um this was i started this in 2019 and it was like my midwest stitch i went back to the midwest a couple times that year and so it was something that like i just stitched on when i went to the midwest uh because it reminded me of like my indiana days my grandmother lived on a farm and my husband grew up around farms his family's business was grain elevators um and so this was i mean this was just something that was heard like we knew this from the time we were little was that corn would be knee-high by the fourth of july so so it hasn't gotten much love because having been traveling um back to the midwest at all but i did work on it some on its birthday and this is where i am so this is where i am on it i did some of the blue fill in while i was on a channel zoom meet up so i love this piece definitely going to keep it and but i don't but i think i am going to keep it like my midwest stitch like eventually it'll be done i'm in no hurry to have this done uh it's on a i think 16 count 16 count ada that was white that i t dyed myself and um i think it's all called four flosses except this green here i think was supposed to be guacamole i didn't have it um so i used corn husk which seemed like perfect anyway so i love this definitely going to keep it but i think it's just still going to be my like midwest stitch i think i'm still going to just take this with me when we go back this summer we're not going back to michigan this summer just because with moving abby to school we typically go to michigan every summer in general we go to michigan in the summer to visit my in-laws they have a summer cottage there and they love to have us out and we love to go we obviously didn't go last year and this year between nationals and um then like required summer dance and moving abby to new york for college just don't have we don't have the time to unfortunately this year to go to michigan so uh but that will stay the northwest the midwest stitch and someday it will be done still love it still love it though okay now we're down to i randomly chose to work on these things projects so the first one is um i need to fold it the other way there we go is christmas sampler too so i've been working on this for the semi saiyan's semi sane stitcher's abc challenge so uh i think i'd gotten a few a couple letters behind so i just spent a few days getting this all caught up so now i'm all caught up and now maybe i need to catch up one more again but i am up to uh l lights so yeah so there we go so i got i did king i i think i did jolly i'm not sure when you last saw this but i have definitely put in jolly king this heart motif this little hat i started uh these holly and berries over here and yeah so that's my progress so i'm keeping up with this i mean not always exactly to the day it needs to be caught up but but i'm saying that i'm i'm calling it i'm calling it cut up this is uh a v stitch me fabric and it is a 36 count linen in granite and i'm using i think it's mostly called four colors which is some overdyed some dmc i feel like i may have made one substitution but in the description box there's a link to my whip list spreadsheet that has all the information on it so it'll tell you if you're curious as to what the flosses are or if i forget to say a fabric all that information is on my whiplash spreadsheet that is linked in the description box so there we go look at me keeping up with the challenge i mean you know exactly when i need to keep up with it but keeping up with the challenge okay so this next one is also kind of a sal challenge that i'm trying to keep up with and i'm not quite there but i i'm making an honest effort and that is the 2020 pandemic sampler i started this in march for hashtag it's been a hell of a year so i think that's right it's been a hell of a year uh and then [Music] um blanking deborah carroll is hosting a stitch along where it's been broken up they broke it up into i think eight parts one two three four five six six parts eight parts i don't know i'll have to look i will link uh the instagram below but you can follow the hashtag it's hashtag 2020 pandemic sampler style i believe and so the idea is that you stitch one section a month i'm sure you've seen other people do this are working on this and remember the details better than i do but i had started i had worked on it like one day and i had started up in the top left so i decided to do this section first which is like here [Music] here it's kind of actually a big section but that's where i was that's where i was and the idea is that you do one section a month and then i think we would finish it in like january and i thought well i i love this and i want to stitch it and so this would be a great way to try to keep up i am using the mrs sadis silk pack they're just stunning and all the information so this was designed by sarcy girl and you can you can go to sarcy girls instagram here we go sarcy girl on instagram and find the pattern if you want to join in i'm stitching it on a 36 count dark cobblestone linen with the mississaidis um silks and this is where i am on that section uh so i was really really cruising let me tell you i was cruising i felt like i was going to finish by the end of the month and then i ran into a couple road blocks one this like dark blue i had stitched in the wrong color it's a gorgeous color chart and i should have paid attention to the limitations of my eyesight and i mixed up symbols and i stitched all of this in black and it just really needed to be changed so i had to frog out and re-stitch that so that put me back a little bit and then this color this little dark olive in the mississippi silks which are beautiful it's this color it's like a chocolate brown and that like check out how amazing she is like she put the dmc equivalent like this is this is her conversion uh to her silks and then she even put the symbol on the back so if you buy if you buy the silk pack for this sampler like it comes like this with the symbols and everything well i started stitching that in this which is like the right like the conversion 830 and i was like that just doesn't look right to me and so i pulled out dmc 830 and it's really like an olive green it would be beautiful in this don't get me wrong but green is my favorite color and i just kind of the parts of it that were more of an olive green i wanted more of an olive green so i when i went over to thread needle street picked up the gloriana because apparently i'm just that bougie now you heard me say i pulled out dmc a30 i have dmc830 i could have just stitched with the dmc but apparently i've just turned into that person and i was like i'm stitching this in silk so i'm gonna go get a silk so i did i went and i picked out this gloriana it's technical technical um to use for where it calls for dmc830 because this is all uh charted in dmc and look how gorgeous it is i mean it would be gorgeous in the dmc but i couldn't resist the mississaida silk packs silk pack so the frogging the needing to get another color just it put me off this for about four or five days and so then i don't i'm not going to finish this section tonight however this is going with me this project and um i can't remember what else i decided maybe autumn drum because i don't think i want to take crosses of the kingdom maybe i'll take autumn drum with me and see if i can just knock that out as a finish and this so this is going with me to vegas so my plan is to finish the this section and then start the next one down which honestly is this big old house but i feel like this would be easy like airplane stitching because it's so much just back and forth building a house so i don't know maybe i can work my way down to that house i'm gonna try to get back on track and keep up with this that's the plan but there is where i am i love it it's stunning amazing such a good pattern so i'm not quite keeping up with it i mean look how big how big it's gonna be it's gonna be amazing i feel like it must be eight parts i don't know i have to look but there we go that is the 2020 pandemic sampler but i'm also going to try to keep up with that stitch along i'm already behind i'm already behind but i feel like i can catch up i feel like i can catch up and then the last thing that i randomly stitched on and i think this was when i was doing stitch them all pursuit i pulled this out because one of the categories was the main figure is a woman and i pulled out touching the autumn sky because this is on my whip go for five days so i think it got maybe just one day i'm stitching this on a 32 count b stitch me fabric in autumn and with all the dmc and there it is so i know that i did some leaves up here and started the ropes of the swing down i mean look how gorgeous this is look how gorgeous this fabric is so that is touching the autumn sky and that's it only took me 42 minutes to get through all of these stitching whips now i had not been knitting for quite a while uh because i just when i lost my stitching mojo and fell into a bit of depression there back in uh february march april i quit picking up knitting and then on one of our meetups zoom meetups uh jackie mama mama jack makes i'll link her instagram below she's fantastic amazing stitcher amazing crocheter and knitter she was doing some knitting and it just inspired me she just inspired me to pick the knitting back up and um so i did and the first project that i picked up was my um land of sweets cowl my curious handmade and i am knitting this with lemonade shops valentine's day uh yarns so it was like a full skein of i think dr love's testo meter and then see if i can pull all the little balls out and then there was a mini skein set mini skein set uh and so i'm alternating between the main skein and a mini skein and this is where i got to i don't have a uh progress marker on this but i know i did these two sections i know i did these two sections and i definitely messed up the lace pattern on this one it's fine who's ever going to know uh but i got it i nailed it on this one and so i have one more section of this lace pattern uh and i love this it's so happy it's so happy i mean it's just fun happy colors so i worked on that i did a couple sections on that and then i was feeling the pull to pick up my lintilla because it is summer and i do feel like um knitting in the summer i i don't want to be knitting on like heavy fall projects or uh but my lintilla i don't know how i got this all wrapped around the tote this is my lintilla shawl by martina bem strickmitch all right let me find the here we go lintilla and it's one of her hitchhiker like shawls uh so like the traditional hitchhiker has like little teeth this one has little ruffles and i started this with my friend annie we were both using treehouse knits yarns and um i'm using this beautiful seattle colorway but this feels like almost like a summery knit to me because it's so much white with those gorgeous flecks of blues and greens and so i picked this back up and this is just so fun to stitch so i did have a marker on this one so you can see i've done that much more from like all the way down here like that's pretty good but these little ruffle sections it's really fun to like if you just have a little bite of time just a little bit of time like i need like a half hour or so to do one of these little ruffles and then the body up to the next ruffle they're so fun these little german short rows you create these with little german short rows so you do like four stitches wrap and turn five stitches wrap and turn and then you decrease the other end and it's so fun it's so fun so this feels like a good summary and like look at that like it's starting to look like a shawl oh [Music] so there's the knitting so i'm gonna stick with the knitting i'm gonna take this with me uh on the trip too so this is going the lintilla is going with me on the trip a pandemic sampler and at least one other cross stitch project i always take like way more projects than i could possibly ever get to and there will probably be very little crafting time anyway so i'm sure that even with two cross stitch projects and knitting that's way more than i need so those are going to go with me so that is all of my whips all my works in progress i have not done a ton of shopping but i definitely have haul from the last time i saw you so uh i tend to just throw it in my acorns and fred's tote when it comes so that i remember to show you however i know i clearly did not put in fabric and thread clubs so i'm still doing the color and cotton fabric of the month as well as brandy b stitch me's fabric of the month and i'm also still getting my nest egg from um three owl threads for classic color works and gentle arts those have been coming they're not in here they're beautiful fabric and threads and i'm sure you'll see them at some point however i do have a couple things in here that i tossed in here that i thought might be fun uh the first thing that came was i could not resist another one of these kids from nica moscow um she does these fantastic exclusive collaborations with barbara anna this particular one was sold out right away before i could even get to it so then i went on a like wait list for when they were able to make more kits like everyone i think they've run into some supply problems and we're waiting on fabric but they got their fabric and it came in and this so this is four seasons by barbara anna look at that isn't that amazing four seasons and it's the way the kit comes is is pre-cut fabric and it's clearly oops there's needles too look at that needles holding the fabric together uh the fabrics cut so that clearly the and the pattern is that you do them side by side all as one piece and normally with these type of like seasonal things i tend to do them separate so i can switch them out but i kind of love the idea of doing them all together as one piece and framing them so i think that's what i'm gonna do but i don't know when i'm gonna start this because right now i am definitely feeling like i have i mean obviously i started a few things but i would like to be finishing more than i'm starting right now i don't know i'm just feeling that way like i love the projects i have i want to stitch the projects i have i think there are a couple that i'm going to destash i'm noticing quite a few people are doing mid-year whip parades you know i love a whip parade i love it uh i have so many whips i think a mid-year whip parade would be cumbersome it's a lot to do even at the end of the year however i am going to do a mid-year like personally like just for me a mid-year whip evaluation because i have a couple that i think are going to get these stashed i have a couple that i think i'm going to let go of but i want to take a look at all of them anyway but look how gorgeous this kit comes packed like it's all dmc braided all together there's clearly the wintry colors um just gorgeous nikon moscow is the most wonderful kits from i think for what you get and the shipping from russia it is well worth the money um i love them so that one came four seasons by barbara anna someday someday i'm going to start that okay i also did get managed to snag some color and cotton grab bags and i'm just like i'm not going to show you all these fabrics other than to say i grabbed three packs of linen grab bags and look look at that amazingness you don't know what you're getting as far as color or count but i would absolutely say follow color and cotton on instagram on facebook turn on notifications so when they say there's grab bags up snag them because the thing i love about their grab bags is all the pieces are eight by 12. that's a good size like off cut like you can put a decent size project on that um like i put my suffrage act on one of their i mean there was a lot of margin but if you don't mind i mean you can put a good medium chart on there if you don't mind uh a skimpy little margin which i don't uh so you don't know what you're getting as far as coloring count but look at this look i i use the heck out of these little color and cotton cuts love them look at that color i think that's a 40 count but it's amazing okay so i got those i also got a little order in from top knot from abby topknot um i have been getting all of my chalk talk charts from her and summer came out so this is the fourth one i have started autumn and winter haven't finished one of them i will eventually though and i just love this series so i got that from her and she was doing a sale also follow abby follow abby top not stitcher you won't regret it uh and so she was having a sale so i got the equality sampler because plum street and you know it says all men and women are created equal it has a great story about the uh declaration of sentiments and how that came about and i just i love it i love it and i'm not you guys know i'm not a big patriotic stitcher but i love this one and i love the sentiment and the ladies on it and the strawberries it's plum street when will i stitch this i don't know i don't know okay i also could not resist a couple things from allison rosen at it's charm school um another creative genius she just is a creative genius and uh she had a couple new releases that i could not resist so i went to get uh-oh i think one of them's already on a project well you know what i think i've had two orders from allison and only one of them's in here but i'll show you this one i got a tail tucker finally and look it's the turkey from friends [Music] [Laughter] how cute is that and i'm very excited to try this tail tucker because i do i'm lazy about uh threading my needle i don't necessarily play thread chicken to save the thread as i am i don't want to thread up another needle i don't want to re-thread my needle so i'm excited to try out the little tail tucker uh michelle showed how to use them and then check out this needle minder so good so good and i know i got another order from her and it must just have not made it in this bag so i'll show you that next time because i got even more i mean look at her beautiful packaging too she hand makes all these like the she hand makes the little like these are all made by hand amazing amazing there are just some crazy talented people in our community go support them allison rosen it's a craft uh it's charm school on instagram the allison rosen is a crafty girl pretty sure i'll link all this below there'll be a shopping link okay and then the last thing this was actually happened in may um i went down to acorns and threads with um robin um lady robbins and met up a bunch a bunch of people down there and it was kind of our we're fully vaccinated celebration trip found acorns and threads hadn't been there since uh the pandemic started and i was so excited to go down and see their new expansion and so i'm calling this also my 25th anniversary shopping there was something in my bag waiting for me and that that i had ordered after the um pacific northwest stitch summit last fall so i placed an order she didn't have it in stock but they ordered it for me and it is this amazing piece of graham cracker fabric in tea set so i think you can probably get this from kitten stitcher because this is her this is a teresa's son's uh linens so this is graham cracker fabric in tea set it's a 36 count and look at this amazing cut that's a portland cut y'all if you're gonna order if you're gonna order linen at acorns and threads you get yourself a portland cut uh but that is gorgeous i don't know what i'm gonna use it for but i love it smells so good too okay so that was waiting for me and then i swore i was not i bought some threads i needed that are still in there uh i got a new corner gauge because i have one that i love uh but i can't always find it so i got another one that says acorns and threads little corner gauge so helpful especially because i'm a corner starter and then i wandered around and bought some patterns and such that i don't i didn't need but i got them anyway oh maybe i'll start this for fourth of july maybe once again not a big patriotic sister stitcher but check this out from summerhouse stitch works it's uh called liberty and justice for all but look equality and justice that one definitely doing that one um yeah and these are little that would be like a start and finish maybe i'll take stuff to start and finish this over fourth of july weekend yep i think maybe i'll do that but i love that equality justice they're all good they're all good but that's the one for sure i'm stitching so i got that one i picked this up because i had never seen it before and uh it's my motto it's my motto with my needle and fred just fudge it and carry on i don't frog unless i absolutely have to but look it's a frog with a crown come on just fudge it and carry on love that i also i'm always seeing these uh and they had a bunch of them so i got a couple of these little bent creek bent creek photo booth kits because they come with um fabric and the buttons they don't come with they don't come with uh threads that's fine um oh i have threads in my stash but i thought this one was so cute bacon and eggs that one's funny and then of course i couldn't resist along with the turkey turkey that's funny i also picked up this one um heart and hand friendship garden i just love that i know i saw stuff stitching this and i think she had it when it was a retreat piece maybe and it's just it's a beautiful sentiment and it comes with all the buttons and stuff you you know i love when stuff comes with like the buttons and beads so that's really pretty love that and then these two i had no business buying no business i don't know that i'm ever even gonna stitch this one this first one i'm gonna show you but it is so beautiful i had to own it i had to own it a quaker dwelling by kathy barrack oh look how amazing that is but i think stitching all those bricks might kill me that might that might be the death of me it is charted in dmc and um needleplate silks or needlepoint soaks i think i would probably actually just do this in the dmc because it's amazing i mean look at that roof look at it who wants to stitch this for me that's amazing oh i love it i have to finish a big piece before i can even think about starting this okay and then this one i would not have bought except that the um the model was there and i believe it's jeanette douglas and i believe that she did this for acorns and threads uh anniversary it's vintage acorns oh this was the model was stitched on 40 count and was the most gorgeous if you have a chance to get to acorns and see it it was the most gorgeous stitching i mean so stunning uh it's amazing and it's part of her like she has a whole like vintage series like vintage flowers i know a bunch of people are stitching vintage birds um i've seen people do vintage animals so this is now vintage acorns just amazing gorgeous gorgeous don't know when i'll start that no business no business getting this but i could not resist it i couldn't leave it i couldn't leave it there if you if you saw the model you would have bought it too okay so that's it that's all i have and because i grabbed everything and jumped in the car i don't even have a giveaway we will do fun giveaways when i can get back to a regular schedule what will that be i don't know i will definitely be back after our trip in july so i'll be back hopefully mid july it might be honestly until fall after we get kids moved into college and everybody goes back to school and the office husband is still working from home until probably september and uh so things are still a little up in the air and chaotic and we're doing a lot of going to be doing a lot of rearranging of spaces at the house because even once he goes back to the office he's still planning on microsoft is being very flexible about working from home which i would love to see a lot of companies do that where they can i mean obviously not everybody can work from home you know we need the nurses at the hospitals and and such there's some people that have to do their work at work when i was working in the pharmaceutical industry um you know we had to work with the viruses in the bl3 labs couldn't bring that home but for any industries where people can work from home i'm hoping that this is one of the things that we have learned is that we can be flexible with our workforce and make life easier for them so anyway so he's going to be working from home he said he thinks that he's still going to work from home one day a week so we're doing some rearranging of spaces in our house as well so maybe by fall i will have a new craft space set up and can get back to a regular flosstube schedule but in the meantime i will pop in when i can i hope everyone is doing well uh as well as they can and as having the uh as some of my favorite podcasters say the best summer available to them or the best weekend the best day and um yeah everybody take care i don't even have any i don't even have a beverage but i just really really really missed y'all and wanted to give you a little stitching update and this is just how it had to be this time so until next time everybody do some stitching and have a drink for me cheers
