FIX Windows 10 22H2 KB5001716 failed update with the hide update app

welcome to the Windows computer and Technology Channel and um if you want to do something about the failed update uh you can hide it if it's installed now be careful about hiding it make sure it is installed uh for one reason is that it could be blocking other updates if for some reason there's a problem with it although it can actually download with the next Patch Tuesday which is coming up next week anyway but um what I would do and and what many of you have done is simply download the uh the app the Microsoft app that lets you IDE updates um I would just look at making sure that it's installed in your update history so go and check out if you have KB 51716 and it says successfully installed some of you have had it previously some of you might have had it in 2023 at some point show up so um I'm looking here if I see anything a lot of people had it in October yeah it is here look at that it's it's installed on October 5th so it's like an update to an update that's already there so I would guess you know if you have it installed on your PC uh use the tool I'll post the link in the description below again so use the troubleshoot to prevent problems show hide updates click next and it's going to search for updates once you have the list of updates that's going to be there um click hide updates you see here KB 51716 is showing up put a check mark click next and once this is done the update shouldn't appear again and your Windows update should have fixed the problem on your PC so this is an old update as you could see that here we go fixed closed and if we go to our settings go into Windows update let's retry to check updates it should uh end with everything's fine because that update now has been hidden uh so it shouldn't be checking for it anymore so that's the fix that I would have so here you go you're up to date so you can fix it with that the link to the app is in the description below just one word this app might give you a security uh problem a security risk uh message if you click on it and you uh download it's going to bring you here it might say oh um this was blocked it can harm your device just go and click the three dots say keep and it will download and you'll be able to open the file and block the update so technically best thing to do because it's installed anyway and we'll continue on with life if you enjoy my videos please subscribe give us thumbs up thank you for watching
