[Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] alright guys welcome back it's almost tournament season here and I just wanted to show you what I use for a kayak and how I rigged it up for bass fishing and for these tournaments so this is the old town Predator 13 it's not the pedal Drive it's not the MinnKota Drive it's just the regular old predator 13 and I got it the year before the pedal came out which I kind of wish I had the pedal but I really love this thing it's awesome so I guess we can start up here we'll start in the front work our way back so the first thing you see this black strip that runs back here and that's actually a keel guard it's called keel easy if your kayak guy you might have heard of that before and basically it just protects the bottom of your kayak when you're beating it and bumping into rocks and things like that it's pretty easy to put on it's kind of lay down there use a heat gun and it pretty much sets itself right on there so I've got that on there just to protect a little bit I don't want to wear through the hull so I use this thing just about almost every weekend or every other weekend in the summer so it gets a lot of use I'll show you my in the hatch here this has a dry storage hatch with a lock on it and in here I just keep a warm binder you can see it's got a some tackle in there so mostly creature baits with some bait swim baits stuff like that also in here I've got a first-aid kit and my battery to run my fish finder and the batteries in this bag here that came with the kayak and I made a video on how I installed all this and wired up my fish finder so if you want to look at that a link down in the description but here's the blind and a fish finder that's always really keeping their spectroscope favorite socks or a jacket or something if it's cold I put this C deck the camo sea deck on here I also have a video of me installing that it's really comfortable I use it a lot I'm fly-fishing and I'm standing up with my bare feet obviously you gotta stand up when you're flying it's easier to stand so I use that and it's really comfortable it's got scuppers built in here's my fish finder I've got the hummingbird helix seven with a Down scan side scan and GPS and so and I so it's got it all seven inch screen I'm just going to kind of go over this quick guys I'm not going to get into too much detail and you can see here I've got an anchor trolley this is the yak attack lever lock anchor trolley you can see right here this is the locking mechanism so you can lock your anchor trolley into place and your anchor goes through here in your line or your clip for your anchor line and that runs all the way to the back and this is what I use for PFD it's the NRS Chinook a lot of guys use these I like it a lot a little bulky but made for kayak fishing it's just this high back on it so your seat fits right in here and it's pretty comfortable I've got my pliers hooked up to the way then I got this from yak attack the tea rain and it's just like a zinger we just hook your pliers to it so you don't lose them and stays right there I love that thing it works awesome stupid in here I keep stairs scissors to cut some braids and nippers cut fluoro over here I've got my over here got my fish grips and that's also on the singers that I just tend to catch in there I keep some stuff in here usually put like a water bottle some gloves sunscreen things like that extra GoPro stuff now and then I got the paddle I have is the Carlisle angler paddle made by Johnson outdoors same company so it matches everything not that I really care that it matches but it's so hooked in here to get your line and unhook from a log or a tree or rock or something like that but now I'll get to the interesting stuff so with the tournaments I do you could have a hog trough so basically I built this crate here it's just a milk crate and it's actually it's the longer milk crate so it's not perfectly square it's more of a rectangle and the first thing I did just to make it easier to carry this hog trough so you're not sitting on it or have it banging around the floor actually got this idea from Greg Blanchard he's a youtuber as well and I don't know him personally but you're watching this Greg thanks buddy good idea he has some really awesome kayak fishing videos and but he had this idea where he just ran bungees of the noodle in there and then you can just slide your talk drops right out and it makes it easier to put it in and out so it just makes it easier so I built this the crate came as it is and I built this top at a plexiglass and that hooks down there just a little a little bungee and it flips up and I just put Gorilla Tape on the back to keep it from cracking and breaking and stuff and I just put stickers all over it but it's good a few hinges in the back is pretty easy just use a little dremel tool and cut it all out this is my anchor comes right out and I'll actually get it on this is a pretty common set up here it's actually a retractable clothesline and so and I've replaced it with 550 paracord so you pull it out and it retracts all by itself when you're done you don't have a whole mess of line to deal with and you have to wrap it around anything it just coil it up in there I painted it black but some stickers on it so I match a little bit better that's what I use for an anchor good just straight in there I've also got my anchor tie off right here if I just want to tie it off it on the back I keep my tackle in here just a little wearing binder these are mostly just worms then goes things like that terminal tackles in here these them all my jigs and spinnerbait crazy fates and top water all that stuff fits in there good I actually put these in here this tack actually comes with these built into it now which it didn't when I bought it so I installed these flush mount holders I just stick my landing net right in there works pretty good and you control with those too but obviously you can't troll during a tournament but I use this rubberized net I'll actually link this net in the description guys because I like it a lot it's rubberized your hook doesn't get stuck in it and stuff and it's really lightweight and nice aluminum handle it's rugged enough to handle some decent sized fish gets the rod holders in they're not going to go over my rods or anything I can make a separate video of that sometime and then the cool thing here is they this is my boom mount for my GoPro and this is how I take all my video during tournaments and stuff the GoPro pretty much mounts right up here on either of these and this is pretty much angle you'll get and I can also switch it it's a rail blazer mount and it's the boom mount and I've actually bought the six-inch I think that's a six inch adapter to make it a little bit longer because I wanted a little bit a little bit higher up the regular size was big enough for me just wrap some foam around it and that tied it so if it ever fell off it wouldn't sink and this is just my power cable here and I plug it in my GoPro and then I have my battery bank my power bank goes plugs in here and I'll either stick it right in this bag or I'll stick it right in this bin and I get power all day from that and I just made a video on how to how I run my GoPro all day long - if you guys want to check that out that would be in the description so yeah you can basically you can unhook this right here unlock it and this whole thing will pop right off and then I can put it right up in here and have it face and have it going off this way facing back at me so I can get some a lot of different angles and this is fully adjustable this thing actually swivels slides all around so you can get some panoramic shots things like that goes up and down just adjust this little knob right here so that's how that's how I set up my camera and then I got this little this is a wheelie cart here I'll link this in the description too I think there's only 30 bucks this cars awesome it works with any kayak you just stick it under there and you can wheel it all around and stuff so that's basically how I how I set up my kayak guys I used it like this all last year I worked awesome no complaints like I said I wish I had the pedal drive I'd be pretty cool to be able to pedal and fish at the same time but I can't complain about this setup guys this thing is awesome and you can stand up in it no problem I forgot to show you in here this is just a hatch I don't really keep anything in here I just lined it with a clicker yoga mat just keep just to keep noise down and stuff if I'm banging around with tackle boxes in there or something I've also drilled a bunch of holes in these plates right here and I actually take like if I'm using a bunch of different lures like say this jig and I'm done using it but I might want to use it later I'll stick it right on there just hang it I might want to use it digger it off tight on so there's my kayak guys there wasn't anything too crazy but I just want to show you how I set it up if you guys have any questions let me know and if you want to see anything else I can go over some of my rods what I bring could tackle how I organize my tackle and how I chose the rods that I did thanks for watching guys we'll see you later
