so you got your very first sale selling on Etsy using printify as your print on demand partner and now you're wondering what do I do next how does this all work well in this video I will explain everything that you need to know right now but first of all congratulations on getting started and getting your first sale I know that you had to put in a lot of work and learn a lot of things to get to this point and if no one told you today then I am very proud of you you are doing great things for yourself your family and your life and I could not be happier to have you here on my channel so let's walk through the steps to ensure that everything is set up correctly first you'll get an email from Etsy letting you know that you've got your very first sale and if you don't have the selling Etsy app just yet I do recommend downloading that that way you can see notifications right from your phone once you get those sales and be able to respond even faster to customers if they need anything throughout the a day I also have a link to download down in the description which is my six figure customer service follow-up guide with two messages that you should send your customers and exactly what you should say the first one is a message to send right after your customer orders from you that way you can set the proper expectations of what they should expect instead of that good relationship and the second one you send after the actual receive their order to try and get a good review on your item and make sure that everything came well with their delivery it's also important to understand how the payments work with Etsy when you're first getting started and brand new with Etsy for the first three months they'll probably put you on something called payment reserves this is to protect the Etsy customers in case you are a scammer so Etsy actually keeps a portion of your money until the item actually ships to the customer another thing they do to help protect themselves and the customers against scammers is for the first three months you can only get paid out for Etsy once per week after the first 90 days you can change this to get paid out daily but this is why I recommend having 100 to 200 dollars to be able to start your print on demand business because what this means is in the beginning you are actually the middleman for print on demand payments so Etsy takes out their Etsy fees and then pays you what the customer paid and then you yourself actually go pay printify the cost of the item and the shipping and then you get to keep what's left over as profit and I will link another video right down below that goes over all of these startup costs when you're doing print on Demand with printify and Etsy so you can go ahead and watch that next to make sure you know everything that goes into getting started so now let's head over to printify to make sure everything is set up correctly there so your order goes through and gets sent to your customer the first thing you need to do is make sure that your Etsy and your print my accounts are connected you'll know that they're connected if you see your shop name up in this Etsy box here if it's not click this box and go to add a new store and you'll be able to connect your Etsy store with your printify account that way all future orders come in automatically the second thing you need to ensure is set up correctly on print device that you have a card on file for printify to charge you because again the cost for the actual item you're selling like a shirt plus the cost to ship it comes right out of your credit card or debit card to add a card to your account you'll click this green circle in the upper hand right corner and you'll go to payments you can actually add money from PayPal to have as a balance here for those funds to be taken out of or you can add a credit or debit card down here if you have a rewards credit card I really would recommend adding one here that way you can earn points on every single sale that you get and I do have two of my favorite rewards credit cards linked down in the description below if you're looking for one because you might as well get those extra points and be able to travel or have cash back by making these purchases and then the third thing you need to do on print is make sure that your order approval settings are set up correctly to do that you go back up to your shop name here and then click the gear button to manage my stores so here you'll actually click the settings button again and now you'll come over here to preferences so here you'll see where it's going to offer you to turn on order routing which means that if one of the items is out of stock they automatically choose what other print provider to send your item to to get it printed by I don't turn this on personally because I want to be able to choose what the other print provider I send it to is and if hypothetically someone ordered two shirts from you and only one size was out of stock then the order routing automatically sends the out of stock item to a new print provider but leaves the other size that's in stock with the original one then your items get shipped separately and the customer's confused because they might look a little bit different and even come at different times I do have another video I'll link down below the five things I wish I knew before using printify and that is one of them that I go more into detail in so I'll link that one down below as well but what we're here for is to make sure that the order approval is set up correctly so what I like to do is have my orders send automatically once per day at 10 AM you can choose what time works best for you so you can either set it to manual where you have to actually manually hit submit for an order to actually start getting made you can have it send in one hour in 24 hours or all at once once per day the biggest benefit to doing one time every day is instead of individual charges on your card this will come through as one larger card some cards will flag you for so many purchases from the same place in one day and so this will help you get around that the other benefit to letting all of your orders wait for a while and then go through at the same time in the morning is that time to update in order if a customer needs to change or edit something so coming over at orders I'll show you exactly what I mean so here on the orders page you'll see that these orders are on hold and I can submit them right now but if a customer emailed me and said hey can I change size can I change my actual shipping address then I can click on these because they're not sent through just yet I can edit the address I can edit the items I can cancel it anything I need to do I can do manually myself now if we go back to an order that's actually in production already so like this one here if I want to make any changes or cancel this order then I actually need to reach out to printify support and ask them to make the changes that I need in my business and they're not always guaranteed if the item is already getting printed it might be too late so that's why I recommend having all of your orders go through it one time every day that way you always know that you need to go double check if there's any changes that need to be made before those orders go into production and then coming back over to the payments page this is where you would actually sign up for printify premium if you haven't already printfy premium will save you up to twenty percent off of every item that you purchase from printify so as soon as you're selling anywhere between 15 to 20 items per month this really absolutely pays off and if you're not selling that much just yet feel free to use my code my code is Cassie all capitals with the number 30. if you add that coupon you will get one free month of print by premium that's normally 29.99 so as I showed you a moment ago you will be able to see the status of your order whether it's on hold it's in production or if it's been actually produced and shipped to your customer and you will see actual estimates of what day this is planning to get shipped out now please note these are not guarantees by any means and sometimes there are delays and so don't ever tell your customers these dates but they can give you a good idea of when your items are going to be sent and once your item is shipped you can see this one's produced with the actual tracking number then that tracking number is actually going to be automatically sent to Etsy Etsy will email it to your customer so you don't need to reach out to your customer to confirm that anything's shipped and then it will automatically show that the item shipped on Etsy there's nothing more that you need to set up so this all may sound a little bit confusing at first but once you make sure that these settings are set up this one time then everything will happen smoothly and automatically here on out so just to give you an idea of exactly what this looks like you get an order on Etsy the Etsy order automatically shows up in printify as long as no changes need to be made then it automatically gets sent to production at a certain time every day the print production company makes it sends it to your customer Etsy updates the customer lets them know that it's been sent and everything is all set you just make sure that you reach out to your customer once the item is purchased and then after the item is delivered to make sure that everything came all right and ask for a great review and you you are finished and that gives you so much more time to instead of having to worry about printing your items and shipping your items just worry about creating brand new gorgeous designs to list in your store and just in case as a bonus if you ever have an issue with your order if something comes damaged if it never showed up but it says it's delivered then how you handle that is you actually come into Etsy you select the order with the issue you'll come down here to submit issue and you hit if you want to check the status of the tracking you want to request a refund or request a reprint they'll ask you some information they'll ask for photos or videos of the damage information on if the address is correct and so on and then if it's covered they will give you a full refund or send a free replacement to your customer so you really do have that peace of mind that if anything at all goes wrong they will take care of it for you so that really covers everything that you need to know to get started with your very first sale on Etsy but if by chance you were watching this and having haven't even actually gotten started yet but we're just curious then I do have my free nine module mini course down in the description below that walks you through all of the rest of the steps that you'd need to know to get started from creating your first listing branding your store with a logo in a banner and creating that first listing making mock-ups and getting it all set up for your first purchase and then you can come re-watch this video again and if you enjoyed this video please consider subscribing because I now have hundreds of other videos to help you with your Etsy and print on demand business using printify to help you every step of the way and as always thank you so much for staying all the way until the end and I'll see you in the next one [Music] thank you
