what's up guys can hear from the headwaters kayak shopping behind me I have the brand new 2020 Moken 10 new price point boat coming in at $5.99 and what I wanted to do was compare it to the 2020 lure 10 coming in at 899 talked to you guys a little bit about the difference and hopefully help you decide which kayak is gonna work best for you so the MOCA temp standard just showed up this past week and it has made Guinea tons of hits tons of eyes tons of questions because at $5.99 it really is a game-changer of a kayak it comes with so many things that you used to find only on kayaks like the lure only on like $7.99 $8.99 price point boats but now they've dropped that price all the way down to $5.99 so let's talk about what you're getting for $5.99 so what changed from 2019 to 2020 on the Moke in actually quite a bit of things the whole remains basically the same super stable platform they use that trimaran haul almost identical to the lure 10 hole so from the waist down these two boats are not that different although you'll notice that the lure is a touch wider the lure is 34 inches wide the mo content is 32 inches wide overall capacity is slightly lower on the Moken but it's still over 400 pounds whereas the mo content is right 450 pounds again you guys I leave all these details in the description so you can actually go on there see and compare side-by-side but just to say the Moken is for a little bit smaller person the lures gonna hold a little bit more weight a little more capacity the extra weight of the battery or stuff inside the hatch from the top up you see a lot of different changes so let's start with the mo content here it's got the molded in tank well style front end so there's no hatch like you see over here on the lure no internal storage but just very simple not a lot of fuss not a lot of muss as you move your way back in the cockpit you'll see this one here has a hatch which is just a simple storage hatch there's nowhere to put a transducer that simple access where as you look over here on the lure you've got the sonar pod which you can now rig up with your transducer with a fish finder that's gonna drop down underneath the hole people ask if you can put pedals into this boat I'll be honest with you it's not meant for it this will fit it but the steering situation is something that would be be tricky to install they don't make a standard kit for it at least not yet I'm moving your way back through the boat you'll notice that the Moken does have a standing platform these two of these little plexiglass pieces with foam on top to give you a place to stand whereas if you look over here on the lure they give you a full standing deck that goes all the way underneath the seat again completely reinforced for standing foot pedals on the two boats are basically identical tracks on the two boats both of the kayaks come standard with molded inside handles top load gear tracks the biggest difference you're going to notice between the two boats is a seat situation both have a high-low adjustable seat but the Moken has a much simpler seat what's still very comfortable you know a nice high back in it a good lumbar support but all-in-all is fairly simple one thing I do like is even though it's an inexpensive price point there's still a layer of foam in here a lot of companies that are trying to go cheap on the price I think of like the old town for example that I've reviewed not too long ago the seat on it was just one layer and we're already getting it blowing out on the sides just from a few uses so it wasn't super happy with that but on the Moken even at a fighting man price point they reinforced that it's two layers with a piece of foam closed cell foam padding in between which is really really nice for that this level of kayak next to the seat here you've got tackle storage on either side a couple of flush mount rod holders behind the seat a decent-sized tank oh that's big enough for a crate or a black pack top load gear tracks they did the tank go a little different they took the bungees out of the track and then actually made permanent mounting spots which actually liked that a little bit better over here on the lure they kept it the old way but we've had a few of these not a few we've had a ton of these break over the years we know stacking kayaks moving them around these are really prone to breaking so I'm actually a big fan of how they did that in the milk and actually kept that totally separate looking at the back of the boats you'll see that they're both rudder ready and that was an upgrade to both these kayaks for 2020 as they both come pre plumbed with the hole ready to go so you could just toss it right or right in on them I molded in handles built in we own the keel and rudder ready on both these boats basically identical really where we're seeing the big price difference on these two guys is the seat situation I did this video because I just had a customer come in with their eyes on the Moken and they ended up leaving with to lure tens and basically the reasoning for that was they sat in both the seats they liked a little bit higher seating position that you had on the lure a little bit more support in the seat pan in the backrest and when they got in the boat they just felt a little bit more comfortable with the open deck lay out the bigger standing platform the ability to add sonar down the line so it is a couple hundred dollar upgrade I think we're going to see a ton of the mo content sell this year because at $5.99 you really can't touch a kayak of this caliber of this quality with this many features but still I don't think the lure is being undercut I think you still definitely get a lot of upgrades with the gravity seat with the sonar pod with the front hatch there just giving you more options so you're gonna see the mo content at $5.99 the lure 10 at 899 and then as we're walking on the shop I'm going to show a couple others you've got the lure 11 5 version - it's got some upgrades for the 2020 season including rod to protectors that's gonna have a price drop to a thousand 99 and then over here you'll see the Moken 12 v version 2.0 and this one has a ton of upgrades - with the sonar pod raw chip protectors new chair in it this one's gonna be going for $7.99 it goes without saying it's not just feel free resell this
