FIRST DAY OF *IN PERSON* HIGH SCHOOL | freshmen year! Nicole Laeno

i can't believe i'm going to school this is so weird hi guys today was my first day of in-person school [Music] it's my first day of in-person high school [Music] look when [Music] if you couldn't tell i'm going to school today oh i still can't believe it like i can't process the fact that i'm literally going to high school day if you didn't watch my school vlog my last school vlog i updated you guys on there and told you that my district has opened up school again and we're doing the hybrid schedule where all grades 9 through 12 we're split into two chords so chord a and then cohort b and then depending on which cohort you are it depends what days of the week you go cohere a goes monday and friday and then all the rest of the weeks at home all the rest of the days nicole so they go monday friday and then tuesday wednesday thursdays at home and then cohort b which i am in we go tuesday thursday and then all the other days at home today is thursday march 25th it's my first day of school it's the first day that school is opening so it's just really exciting what time is it 6 54. let me actually get ready i don't know why i'm talking so much so there's just like so much to talk about like what is going on i can't believe i'm going to school all right well let's just state the obvious obviously this whole year has been online ever since august 2020 that's when we started everything has been online school has shut down i've only been on campus because of dance practice and then orientation but besides that my freshman year has been in the comfort of my room so at first when the announcement was made that we were going back i was literally terrified um a lot of the other students were too because since we got used to being online everyone was thinking we should just finish out the school year online and then next year we just come back all normal i like didn't want to go back at first because i was like it's gonna be chaotic it's gonna be complicated like why are they changing up the schedule again but now that it's literally today i've been getting more and more excited as the days come so like i'm really pumped to go because if you think about it like freshman year is something i really wanted to experience so like i'm gonna make the most out of it even if we're not doing like all the activities or all the dances or class comps like it's okay because at least we can go back and just see other human beings so i'm super grateful that my school is going back like i said i'm very excited i just oh my god wait i'm really excited now today my first class actually doesn't i just took a screenshot with that my first class doesn't start until nine which is still like two hours away but i'm actually gonna head to school and get there at eight because i'm a part of student council and we're going to be setting up like the center of the school but we decorated posters so we're all gonna like put them up and it's gonna be really fun so my class color is blue and i'll try to film this later since there's four different classes everyone has a class color and then a class animal class of 24 which is mine our class color is blue and then our class animal are wolves so yeah i'll be going to school like an hour earlier just to help set up i really have been loving being in student council getting to be involved in like school activities or like just helping out it's just like a lot of fun and everyone a part of it is just so so nice also i curled my hair if you guys can tell but i might have to curl these front pieces again because i slept um i think i'm done everything i did to my face was just comb my eyelashes and brush on my brows that's it i'm not gonna put any makeup on i don't wear makeup on a daily basis so i'm gonna go fix my hair real quick just curl the front pieces once more and i'll see you guys in a bit i just changed into my outfit let me show you guys what i'm wearing okay guys this is the first ever fit i'm wearing to high school a little outfit of the day my top is from tilly's it's just like a light blue and then this cream white on the sleeves and then my jeans are from princess polly i freaking love these jeans the waistband is like crossed and then it has two big holes at the knees and don't worry all i shaved yesterday night and then for shoes i'm going to be wearing my jordans i'll show you guys downstairs but i have obsidian so i'm gonna wear it with this outfit also it's gonna be cold like really cold today i'm pretty sure like 55s which is not usual california weather so i'm gonna grab a jacket on the way out as well oh jewelry necklaces i'm wearing my end necklace and then my 2005 and then for rings i have this butterfly one this love one and then these two on my other hand oh we have to wear masks obviously so i'm gonna wear this black one obviously i don't have to wear a mask but it's kind of sad because i'm gonna be seeing people that i haven't seen in like over a year and i'm like this i can't even see if i'm smiling or not actually that's a lie yeah i'm smiling the last day of school that we had was march 13th so it's been over a year since we've been to school and i just think it's crazy but now i'm gonna pack my backpack this is the bag that i'm going to be using it's from north face it's called the jester backpack it's light pink also if you guys have been watching me since like summer 2020 i did a what's in my backpack for online school but now i'm actually doing a real what's in my backpack for actual school first things first i need to bring my laptop and i'm gonna put it in this bucket oh here's my laptop i think i'm actually gonna take off the case because it gives it a little more extra weight and i'm just trying to decrease as much weight on my back as possible today it's gonna be really weird wearing a backpack i don't remember the feeling it's recommended that each student brings like a computer or a laptop because they have chromebooks at the school but like not enough for every student so they're asking students to bring their own just so if there's not enough chromebooks and then also like covet and stuff you can just use your own i have to bring these two books for my spanish two class my first period is spanish two and our teacher wants us to bring our textbook and workbook wait what else am i packing un momento i made a list the other night so i just don't forget oh i need my pencil pouch this is my pencil pouch i got it from amazon a while back like in middle school but i think it's really nice and i like the size just this flower one i put some pins on it and here are all the things that are in my pencil case and then downstairs i'm going to pack my lunch you guys will see i got a new lunch bag and it's right out that's everything for the back pocket and then for the front pocket this is where i'm going to put my phone my wallet and lip balm oh i need my air pods i'll also put an extra mask in here because we're required to wear those like at all times at school except for when we're eating and then there's two side pockets on this one i'm gonna put this little pouch and in this pouch i have panty liners and tampons girls always carry a little pouch with you with the toiletries that you need it's just a lot more convenient than struggling to find some products so i'm putting that right there and then on this side i'm gonna put a water bottle hold on i'm gonna put on my backpack what the heck i can't believe i'm going to school this is so weird oh my gosh this is how i'm going to look like walking around school i think now i'm gonna go downstairs have breakfast and then pack my lunch just kidding i need to put on perfume when i tell you i haven't put on perfume in literally months i have not put on perfume for literally months this is marc jacobs perfect i used to use this all the time but then i wasn't seeing anyone so there's no point but i'm gonna spritz this on my wrist and then go like this and then put it on my neck and kind of like there for my seat partners that are going to be sitting six feet away from me i hope you enjoy okay now we're going downstairs hi mom you guys don't you look adorable thanks my mom has been helping out with some extra posters they look so good mom we have this one it says go wolves stop that looks so good mom let's go class of 24 and then welcome freshman there's dad he's vlogging the pool say hi thank you there's the pool is your lunch i don't know probably this is my new lunch pail i got it off of amazon i'll link it down below it's just white and then it has some pink flowers but i bought it just for you know going to in-person school because you have to bring your own lunch this container has strawberries blueberries yeah that in my new lunch boom and then yesterday my mom got some spammy soups from l l so i'm gonna pack two of them and then my mom is heating up some fried rice for me right now and i'm gonna get my water [Music] not and then i'm also gonna pack like snacks welch's fruit snacks this mini clif bar and then i'm gonna have one right now because i haven't eaten anything look at sadie good morning baby i have school today are you gonna miss me probably not i love you i have to leave in like 10 minutes this is the hoodie that i'm gonna wear it's just like a cropped zip up jacket from brandy i'm just gonna have it as like an extra layer because it is kind of chilly outside and then here are my shoes by the way from my friend group in cohort b it's maddie jason dylan and then tyler but then in cohort a it's kaden tyken kylie and sierra so our group is like kind of split but that's okay because there's like two girls in each so it's fine but i'm actually pretty excited to see some of my teachers there's some i'm like and about but like my english teacher he's really nice and then the stuko activities director she's so sweet here's the face oh gosh are you gonna cry mom bye dad bye tears it's actually my first time taking you to school from this house oh my gosh you're right on other days christian is going to take me to school but since i'm going early today mama's taking me i want to go with you what i just want to see i'll send you pictures every single day we have to fill out this like health screening thingy it basically just asks you are you sick you just have to say no and then you have to show this to like the people that are in front of the gates and then they'll let you in oh my gosh i still can't believe i'm going i hope you have so much fun thank you mama i hope i don't get lost either first classes no i i know like where figure it out first okay well no we have a map i know but figure it out right when you get there so you don't look like we're not gonna use it anyways i'm here with arushi and sydney and we're currently hole punching and taping posters we're currently struggling struggling too yeah i'll show this better but over there we have four quadrants for each class and we have to decorate our own and um i don't know we have like six people yeah oh wait look they started already they look pretty good the wrong side my cameras are hard how many do we need to tape and then can we just take them i'm gonna take all of them our quadrant is like on the other side so we're gonna take all of our posters now and i can't believe so this is our corner we currently have like three posters up wait yeah how do we go in the room ella's on the roof over there her and austin are hanging like the big one emily sylvia you wanna say hi hi we're currently on the roof and we're gonna hang the posters like right here this is ella we're on the roof yeah [Music] five six times we're walking to our first period right now we have spanish too also tyler hasn't been out so that's why we haven't been hanging with him wait no you've been on my channel before though he was in the among us video but now we have first period together go up the stairs tyler now look back and smile so it's 10 21 we're at our 15 minute passing period tyler ditched me in spanish we walked in i like the last two minutes before the bell rang and there was only the front table left but then one seat in the back so tyler went into the back i'm sitting alone in the front yeah no thank god i don't want her to call on us but this is our like snack before we go to the third cool how was your first period oh it looks good okay good what the freak boy the freak updates is that hendrick hi [Applause] i feel weird eating at school because i feel like people are going to judge me you know leave your snacks in your pants very smart me and kate this kate we're going to go to stu oh my god i think everything fell down oh no jeez it's kind of windy you guys so the senior like thingy and then one of our posters i guess but we're gonna go to the k-wing and in student council we like plan things for the grade but we're gonna be in different rooms yeah how was your first it was it was really fun actually what'd you have i had online english because i was just in the doing whatever i wanted oh cause the teacher can't come yeah wait that's so cool yes i had spanish i'm sitting alone i'm sitting by myself we're on wolves austin say hi we talked in the room about like planning stuff and now we're going back up to the roof i'm going on the ladder to fix the posters because some of them fell thanks sydney oh rushy you're so cute that's kyle's he's not here today but that one's kyle's where did we put it before maybe should we put it like right there our activities director she said that our side our corner is like the most filled that's good kind of just like sitting on the roof we're going to make some tick tocks and some timer pictures hey guys she's a runner she's at shock right now we're on zoom with cohort a hey squad we're working on our lip sync for freshmen and then also our merch christian just called me a loser 383 okay bye bye it's lunch time now and you can take off your mash when you eat but apparently they don't like sit down dylan what do you have to say make an apology video we did not know our actions and we wanted for donuts you have to cry we don't we didn't understand our actions they gave me candy in student council and they're taking it all look what you're eating we survived but that was our last class um we just had english it was honestly really fun we did like five minutes of work everyone give their first day of school a rating yeah like a six six what about you it's just boring go first uh like these are my friends it was like a four or five four five five go dylan oh my god that's a good seven okay that's pretty good see i would give it eight or nine honestly it's pretty fun [Laughter] we're leaving now we're gonna walk to ralph's to get snacks or something and i think caden's meeting us say hi what's up man all right [Applause] [Music] we went to ralph's and me and maddie got sushi i forgot to show it but i got this like salmon roll it's pretty good and now we're just chilling because maddie has practice at 3 30 knows practice at 3 30. oh my gosh i'm back home i am literally exhausted let me talk about my day oh by the way there's shady today was so much fun like i love being on campus i can't wait to go back next tuesday because then i'm going to have my even periods because today was only my odd period i think just like seeing everyone again and just like talking to people i don't know it was just really exciting and also like i'm so glad i have friends in the cohort but yeah stay tuned for more school vlogs i'm so excited that i get to film again in school in the beginning of the year before everything shut down i was like so excited to film like homecoming spirit weeks but stay tuned for more school content and then also i have nationals this weekend for dance my high school dance team just come back every tuesday and friday but thank you
