to give him everything that we have amen amen as we go to give of our offering we're going to do the exact same thing as we worship the lord just a few minutes ago we were saying god take everything i have it doesn't matter you deserve it all and as we give of our offerings guess what he deserves it all he owns the cattle on a thousand hills he provides everything for us and when we give of our tithes and offerings it's a sign of us saying god you own everything you deserve everything but this is just a small portion of my trust and my belief that you have provided supernaturally for me so as we give i want to encourage you give with a heart that worships give with a heart that praises and let's give with a heart that believes that god owns everything and he deserves all of our praise amen let's pray god we love you we thank you we thank you that we have the privilege and the opportunity of worshiping you we have the privilege of giving you praise and yes god we want to do whatever you're asking for so father as we give we know lord that you deserve much more than this and we don't give out compulsion but we give out of gratitude believing that you have provided for us god i pray lord for the person that's here that may be struggling financially god i pray that you would give them the grace and the faith to believe that you provide god we trust you and we believe in you i this past sunday was such a special day for me and i i know many of you were also encouraged as we started the be like jesus series come on let's give it up for the be like jesus series [Music] and this this past sunday we dove in looking at matthew chapter 5 looking at the beatitudes and understanding what jesus actually means when he says blessed or happy he's not talking about happiness in the world's perspective he's talking about happiness in the kingdom of god and as we learn the beatitudes as we walk through the beatitudes over the next few weeks we're going to understand what it for the requests we have a dear friends jamie and tasha kemp they are missionaries to indonesia and a few weeks ago they were planning on returning to the united states so they can go through a season of itineration their son got sick got covered a few weeks ago and he has no symptoms he's feeling completely fine but he keeps testing positive and because of that they are stuck there they can't get back here to the united states so we want to pray for their son their son's name is banaya what an awesome name and so we want to pray just like his namesake in the bible that he would have courage he'd have faith but we also want to pray for the kemp family we also want to pray for the requests we get requests from all over the world for all over the united states people writing and requests asking the people chicago tabernacle to lift those requests on high because they believe that god answers prayer and they believe that the people of chicago tabernacle pray so come on let's begin to lift our voices pray for those requests for those of you online you can pray for for denia camp and believing that god can move supernaturally [Music] we praise you god we thank you because you are at you see their position you see where they're at physically and spiritually and emotionally but god you can go you can touch them right now by your mighty power we lift them up to you believing god that you are a god that answers prayers god we believe lord that you can touch the person that's struggling with addiction right now god break the bondage of addiction in the name of jesus god would the people put put down the bottle when they put the down the needle would they put down the pills would they shut the computer god you are a bondage breaking god and we cry out to you believing that you want to break bondages tonight god lord we pray lord jesus that you would go touch our little friend banaya all across the world god he's sitting in a hotel room he wants to come back to united states god would you move on that situation god would you allow oh god his test to come back negative so that he can come back and he could be with the people here in the united states be with jamie and tasha give them faith give them courage of god even now begin to give them peace and give them rest oh god god we know lord we lift these up to you because you know these requests we know lord jesus you can answer requests god we know lord jesus that you can go and touch each and every one of these requests right now on a tuesday night and we cry out to you believing that you are god that answers prayers you are god that breaks through you are a god that provides supernaturally you are a god that heals you are a god that means and god always we cry out to you we celebrate knowing that you are god that's already moving you are already on the move you are healing you are providing you are supernaturally giving grace and we celebrate believing that there's going to be an amazing that's my son-in-law amen amen it's good to be here tonight with all of you and i was just looking at my prayer requests and i was just thinking about how blessed you know we're really blessed to be able to pray for people that people would fill these out and trust us to pray for these needs that means a lot to me i don't know about you i think it's so special and especially when people visit us that we get to also pray for celebrate their ministry and tonight we have a couple here that's super special to my husband and i my husband is actually in middle of illinois somewhere in the boonies it's the meetings that he uh has um but anyway dan and liz carl i met liz at the brooklyn tabernacle when i was very young and then she became a missionary and then she called us when we were pastoring in omaha and she was like i'm transitioning just wanted to let you guys know and we said come stay with us as you're seeking god for what to do next and she did and my kids this little person here was very little how old was annie when you came to my house she was four she was really little and liz moved in lived with us for a period of time took care of annie and then we tried to set her up with this dude in omaha his name was dan carl liz is from panama she speaks fluent spanish dan does not right gringo to the 10th power just like me and anyway god put them together it was a success story for alan chrissy toledo and so um as it turns out they hit the mission field god has led them to different places around the world one being haiti they were in haiti for several years and now god has led them back to liz's birthplace which is banama and they are ministering there after dan had to learn french creole in haiti all his years which had to be difficult he now has to learn spanish so we're going to pray for him and we're gonna pray for them right now i'm gonna ask dan and liz if you would stand pastor jose if you would come and pastor jose knows just how to pray for them he oversees our missionaries that we support we support dan and liz and he knows exactly how to pray but could we reach our hands right now to dan and liz we thank you o god and we praise you you said oh god blessed on the mountains on the feet of those who bring the good news and father we lift up dan and we lift up lists to you and we ask oh god that your favor that your grace and that your mercy would go before them every step of the way that father that you would help dan oh god assimilate the language of spanish that father that you would use the mighty lord god to push the boundaries of the kingdom of heaven forward that father whatever plan that the enemy would have right now in the name of jesus we ask that you would cancel it father we ask oh god that your anointing and favor would go before them all the days of their life that when father that dan and liz share the gospel father we ask oh god that these bible uh meetings oh god that these discipleship meetings oh god would go forth with might and with power that your children of god would bow down to the name of christ with walk in obedience and that the church of jesus christ would flourish throughout panama father we ask oh god for your special blessing for your provision and anointing but above all things we ask oh god that your providential hand and grace would rest upon them wherever they may go so father we ask o god that tonight lord god that you would send the forth with power with my lord god that we would hear of the amazing testimonies of your grace oh god and how you're using them in panama so father we thank you for them we praise you knowing that you have answered and we look forward oh god to the great and mighty testimonies that will come forward oh god through this privilege of sharing the word with you tonight [Music] everyone online it's so good to see you my name is christy toledo if you're watching because i never speak up here so i'm the lead pastor's wife we planted this church going on 20 years ago and occasionally amen occasionally i share the word i do that more um around the country actually god has made a way around the world for me to share with women and even with students as i share my story of what god did in my life but tonight i want to share with you we're going to jump into the word of god i asked if i could have slides i they said yes so we're going to do slides so here we go i'm going to ask you to read it with me out loud okay and pretty loud so that we can all hear each other here we go this is psalm 44 4-8 and we're going to read it together ready you are my king and my god who decrees victories for jacob through you we push back our enemies through your name we trample our foes i put no trust in my bow my sword does not bring me victory but you give us victory over our enemies you put our adversaries to shame so in god we make our boast all day long and we will praise your name forever isn't that beautiful amen hallelujah i love that passage i found that just in my devotions and then god gave me a thought which i want to share with you tonight the beginning of that passage says my king and my god there's something there and it's our identity it is super important brothers and sisters to know who you are it's super important to know who you are we are kingdom sons and daughters why because we are his sons and daughters and he is our king we belong to a different world we live in this world we're trapped here for a portion of time how many of you feel trapped here we are trapped here for a little while because there's some things we have to do which i want to focus on one tonight but this is not our home we don't belong to the kingdom of this world we belong to the kingdom of heaven hallelujah and so before i'm a toledo before annie's the jurgy your new name is buckley she just got married before she's a buckley we are kingdoms sons and daughters hallelujah so we need to establish who we are now um when we get to heaven what's so awesome about it is here we cry we're sad we get we worry sometimes we fear um sometimes we're sick in our bodies that stuff is normal to us but in heaven it will be gone there will be no more suffering worry will be something of the past of that other world for eternity we're gonna live with our king our daddy our father we are kingdom sons and daughters how many say amen no more problems up there no more battles up there now tonight i want to focus on what we're called to do as kingdoms sons and daughters now if i asked you what are we called to do as kingdom sons and daughters i know your list would be something like uh we're called to love god and love each other right we're called to share the gospel and the list would be pretty like natural but one thing that probably wouldn't make the list is what i want to talk about tonight you probably wouldn't think of it as something you're called to do but i'm telling you tonight you are called to do this and that is kingdom sons and daughters inevitably have to fight spiritual battles what it's like my calling yes it's inevitable as a matter of fact i want to just park here for a second give you a little my story it'll take two seconds if you read my story girl in the song you know there was a scene there that was kind of creepy i want to prove to you tonight that we live in a spiritual realm spiritual battling is very real so real that i got to see it with my own eyes when i was about 19 years old i was at the end of myself you guys i was i had given up everything for a relationship i mean i gave up everything i gave up my parents my beautiful church everyone that loved me i ended up with a baby my daughter susie i was i got so down and depressed because i was chasing after something that wasn't delivering and i got to the point where i wanted to take my life that night that i wanted to take my life was a tuesday just like this i remember i called my boyfriend that night and when that phone rang and he didn't pick up i was at the end of myself that was it it like it flipped a switch in me and i gave it all up and this is what it is so i i literally tried to find some pills and take my life there was no pills there what do you do when you're super depressed you just go to bed and hope hope you can fall asleep well i was in a room in brooklyn where one of the greatest gatherings just like this was taking place a tuesday night prayer meeting at the brooklyn tabernacle at my parents church and my dad he's a man who's led by the spirit we shall be people that are led by the spirit he um was just seeking god like we were and someone slipped up a note and said tonight is christie's night nobody knew how far gone i was nobody knew that that night i wanted to take my life but god knew and at that moment a note slipped up i'll tell you real quick it basically said tonight's christie's night dad had someone take a mic and started to pray but the whole place turned into a labor room like maybe we'll do that later like practice being in a labor room it's noisy they're shouting they were crying out and giving birth to a miracle and that would be me so listen this is what i'm getting at i'm in that room in that house not the prayer meeting was the furthest thing from my mind i was so self-absorbed so just doing my own thing and all of a sudden this dark figure enters my room hideous it was all i could describe it is is just a painful to look at so ugly and at the same time this light figure came in my room and you got to know i am not the kind of person that sees a demon behind every tree i saw this as if i was watching netflix it was real okay so all of a sudden this dark figure this hideous demonic thing is talking to this other figure and saying this i have her life it pointed to me and it said and now i have her life and a dark cloud moved over my baby's bed spiritual warfare is real you guys it's real they were praying and the devil satan hates you satan hates me he hates everything about you he hates your king he hates that you're a kingdom son or a daughter he just hates and he comes to steal and kill and destroy but god remembered that he came that i might have life and not just life but life to the fullest hallelujah hallelujah he's so faithful so now if your daughter is there's a threat on your child you're gonna scream as a mom even a terrible mom would freak out i was a terrible mom but i i didn't freak out i felt a peace come over me like the movie was over for me and i fell asleep and i don't know what happened but all i could tell you is this that heavenly figure took care of business because when i woke up my my life had completely changed nobody was in the room it was spiritual warfare and i there was a decree of victory over my life and i was a different i i was able to break up that relationship i came home to my parents my daughter and i just there there's no words to tell you my daughter could have been a statistic but she's such a godly woman she has so her husband was up here with the sweatshirt i mean it's unbelievable what god can do but we have to sons and daughters of the king kingdom sons and daughters will inevitably fight spiritual battles if you're not doing it you're not functioning as a kingdom son or daughter okay now this is the next thing you could put it up kingdom sons and daughters don't see a spiritual battle as a bad thing but a necessary thing they're not moved by spiritual battles it's necessary if you ask us our calling we're called to do this we're called to fight spiritual battles it's part of my calling it's part of my identity it's part of what i have to do here not there but i have to do it here so this is what's so crazy it's a necessary thing to do but the question is do we do it do we think about it it's it's incredible we have people that how many of you are former military or current military raise your hand anybody here i know pastor edgar anybody else thank you all of you we celebrate your lives wow listen to what i'm saying we would never give a second thought in this country if we were under siege right we would never think twice about releasing our military forces would you think twice about it your response as an american would be like release them set them free to protect us to fight back we would never give a second thought to our men and women fighting we just wouldn't if we were being attacked but why is it i'm appealing to you why is it that if satan comes to steal kill and destroy why don't we trample him the bible says we can push him back the bible says i can push satan back the bible says you can we don't even think about fighting and this is the crazy thing when our military fights when pastor edward was fighting he was fighting to protect territory territory you have to think in the military realm as kingdom sons and daughters okay we are fighting for territory but it's not necessarily land it's the territory of your mind it's the territory of your heart it's the territory of your emotions i would suggest to you that there's territory in your life that you haven't protected and you could have we haven't even fought for it we haven't fought for our hearts we haven't fought for our minds we haven't fought for our families we haven't fought for our kids we have kids that become gang bangers we never even thought maybe i needed to fight for them when they were little we're like worried about them getting flintstone vitamins and we're not fighting for our kids we are called to do spiritual battles remember kingdoms sons and daughters don't see a spiritual battle as a bad thing they see it as a necessary thing let's see how we do it real quick this is exciting news because it sounds so overwhelming but there's an answer how slide verse 5 through you that's our text that we just read i took out verse five through you we push back our enemies through your name we trample our foes it's done it's settled we can hallelujah listen tonight i'm not here we don't have the time to to dive into the weapons of our warfare but you need to study them actually there's second corinthians 10 4 10 4. you got it i know that was corny my kids are going to get me at the end of the service 10-4 second corinthians 10 4. you won't forget it now check out the weapons of our warfare oh that's going to take it to another level when you see what we actually have and through him we could use so how many of you are ready to fight spiritual battles it just feels different now it doesn't feel daunting it doesn't feel scary now because it's our calling it's inevitable and i don't know where i'd be if the people at brooklyn tabernacle said dito chrissy that is such a sad story about that couple the symbols and their daughter and that's a lot of times how we are we say detail look at that situation we don't even think that we can trample on his i was just at a conference and the lady who spoke she put out a snake and she was talking about how and it says her seed will crush and she took the serpent and she crushed his head and as we saw it it was crazy because that's what the bible said jesus would do her seed eve seed would crush his head satan's been settled he just tries to intimidate us to make make us think that he has some kind of power but he doesn't we fight spiritual battles hallelujah so real quick there's two we're going to just focus quickly on two the two kinds of spiritual battles that kingdom sons and daughters will fight and we need to know what they are and then we need to be able to distinguish this is important which one is which at what time you need to know the difference okay the first one that we fight are personal battles battles that we fight that's it's there personal battles are battles we fight because of our own flesh point right here point up to your mind this mind can cause us a lot of problems touch your heart our hearts can cause us lots of issues you can put your hand down my personal battle that got me into that mess was i got involved with this guy but it wasn't so much that i needed this man it's i needed to make the cut in my mind if i made the cut i've got it going on [Music] that was my mind and heart messing everything up in my life look at the next slide if you would our thoughts and desires you need to know this will lead us into great struggles if we don't deal with them we're not talking about the devil yet we're talking about [Music] my biggest mess of my life started with chrissy toledo's mind and christy toledo at the time symbola my heart my heart led me wrong our thoughts and desires will lead us into great struggles if we don't deal with them this takes honesty this isn't something you hear very often this takes honesty and humility but it's a reality see a king son a kingdom son or daughter knows this is really crucial they know that what seem may seem right can be absolutely wrong what may seem right to you i feel when you say i feel you might be dealing in this personal battle realm watch when you say i feel i feel i need i want sometimes that i need i want i feel lead people to completely backslide it starts with a want a need and a feel look at what this this scripture says galatians 5 17 tell me that the bible doesn't lay it out just like straightforward for the flesh craves what is contrary to the spirit and the spirit what is contrary to the flesh our flesh and the spirit are actually opposed to each other so that you don't do what you want like you mean well and you want to do right but because of that battle that opposition within you not outside of you within you it makes you do things that you like it seemed right but it was all wrong paul if paul could say this who wrote more than half of the new testament i think it's our issue too look at this paul goes like this i don't really understand myself for i will for i want to do what's right but i don't do it instead i do what i hate okay don't put yourself down the apostle paul struggled this way kingdoms sons and daughters know that spiritual battles are not bad they're just necessary okay and one more jeremiah 17 9 the human heart this is important the human heart is the most deceitful of all things and desperately wicked when you look back at your life brothers and sisters can you think of all the times that your desires let you down [Music] can you think of all the times your thoughts let you down and got you in a heap of mess but what you didn't maybe know is that you were supposed to do some spiritual battling wait christy you mean i have to fight against myself no you have to fight your flesh you have to through him through his name you need to fight we're going to get to at the very end some two ways to fight and the spirit will bear witness and you'll get clarity so we'll get there in a minute so we talked about personal battles mind bright heart remember i need yikes i want be careful i feel watch out okay chances are if that i feel i need i want isn't followed by something in the word of god we need to stop and really listen okay the second spiritual dialogue i told you is two the second is satanic battles these are battles we fight because of the enemy this is how you know when it's satan it's simple satan will always accuse god and satan will always accuse you if you feel accused it's satan it's not your flesh it's satan he's the accuser okay let me tell you a quick story i was in a certain place and i was with my loving husband and we weren't married that many years so my testimony my story was very fresh still but the beautiful thing about the lord is he makes all things new really quickly so i didn't really dwell on my past very much i didn't think about it too much because he makes things so beautiful and we were in this place and we were driving and my husband's like hey chris there's a bike shop uh why don't i run in there he was riding bike a lot at that time he was doing long distance bike riding and i'm like cool i'll go over to starbucks while you go in the bike shop i'll get us something to drink and i'll come back and get you so he gets out of the car and i'm just driving and all of a sudden it just as real as that picture i gave you in that room um just as real as that it was like i felt like i saw the door open to my car and the devil got in there with me and he began to talk to me i was minding my own business i was just going to starbucks you never know when a spiritual battle is going to take place it's when you least expect it and all of a sudden the enemy my enemy satan started to say to me christy it's almost like it's so good we're here alone let me tell you let me remind you what you did in this place that you're visiting right now remember remember the horrible disgusting way you used to live and the things that you did here and i was so paralyzed in that moment or wanted to be paralyzed i was still driving because it was so real but daughters sons of the king kingdom sons and daughters in that moment we turn to jesus in that moment we call upon the only one the only one who can help us my husband couldn't help me at that moment because there's certain things that no one hears no one sees but you and it was like i don't know if i i can't remember well if i just whispered like under my breath jesus because i was just he's such an accuser satan is such an accuser it was to remind you of the filth from your past if you're ever reminded of that know it's your enemy so i don't know what i did at the moment exactly but all i know is like the door opened and that ugly devil got out and a messenger of my jesus came in and jesus said to me and i'll never it changed my life girls it changed my life guys jesus said to me chrissy don't you ever remind me of what i forgot so long ago don't remind me because it's as far as the east is from the west our sins he throws into the sea of forgetfulness he can't remember him you might remember them you try to remember them and he says you're on your own i don't remember what you're trying to think about right now it's gone my son jesus paid he has the blood poured from his side so that our god didn't have to remember anymore so that changes everything so how do you know when it's satan's voice it's gonna be accusatory do you see how freeing this is it's like our flesh oh snap that's my flesh okay i have it straight now i can fight it's not me it's not that i'm an ugly person it's not that i'm so sinful we wrestle right with our flesh we wrestle with satan over here but kingdoms sons and daughters they know a spiritual battle isn't a bad thing it's a necessary thing you should have to do it tonight when you go to bed you'll have to do it tomorrow morning when you wake up when you get into the world are you kidding in your house you have to do it so imagine when you get out into the world and it's all around you you don't see it but there's spiritual warfare happening all around you fight fight fight fight through his name we fight so this isn't a message of uh the spirit the weapons of our warfare this is a message that you can do it and you will do it you will fight you will fight so amen so in closing in closing um what are a couple ways to get clarity in the moment because the moment is real when you're in a battle how do you get clarity it's not mis it's not um complicated there's two ways the first way is and i hope that's the next slide thank you for doing slides tonight here it is kingdom sons and daughters look to god's word and then they look to godly counsel when you're in a battle stop everything at work whether it's satan you're going to start to know now when it's satan you're going to start to know now when it's your flesh go to the bathroom [Music] open your bible put it on your phone and say god i need to hear from you i need strength in this moment and he will give you the word and it will you'll use it to just pierce satan right to trample on him to push him back it might be your flesh and you open god's word and he encourages you he'll make it clear that it's not you that you shouldn't beat yourself up he'll remind you that his grace is sufficient he'll remind you that greater is he that's within me than he that is in the world he's going to bring it alive to you and then you're like wow even my my bible reading has changed because it's it's like interactive so you need god's word and you need to get let's get back to and i know you're here at the prayer meeting probably a lot of you do read your bibles in the morning but i encourage you read your bible in the morning plan on five minutes five minutes will quickly turn into 15 minutes you won't even be thinking about it and you'll be 30 minutes because you started to sing and when you started to sing you got you looked down at the word and then you sang some more and then you talked to god and then you sang and then you looked at your word and now you're having communion don't make it a job just go say five minutes it doesn't even matter if it's your your reading plan or your devotional book do it in the morning because you don't know what battle you have to fight that day sometimes he gives us the word ahead of time so that we're like no satan not today satan right right you have no power the other thing is this oh and by the way let me just say this moms here and dads that take care of the family and children you need to spend time with the lord and that means to even sing and worship him girls you could have the vacuum in one hand and you could have your hand raised with the other hand you could sing songs while you do chores i challenge you i challenge you to put your hand right you're a kingdom son you're a kingdom daughter put your hand on that child at night the power of god will flow through you it'll flow through you you you belittle what you have you belittle what you have worshiping cleaning you go to the to the car wash i don't know where that came from well yeah the car wash you go through the car wash you have all this time psalms hymns spiritual songs god what kind of battle is coming my way today speak to me lord oh lord my flesh is weak but i just this so goes with sunday's message right lord i'm like a worm i'm so weak but god speak to me right now i want to get a hold of this by your spirit get a hold of this flesh and make the right decision amen secondly and lastly as we close you need godly friends you need the kind of friends that when you call them yes you need the kind of friends that when you call them they say oh jessica i can't believe you're calling me because i was in the word this morning and god gave me a word for you those are the kind of friends you want if you're getting on the phone and talking about fox news cnn all the time you're missing some real friends i'm not putting your friends down but tell i'm telling you now if that's what my friends want to do with me i need the spirit to bear witness i need the spirit to bear witness i need to say i can't believe you just said that because i'm in a struggle so what are you cooking tonight right right we need godly friends we need friends that when we bump into them it's the word of god i mean we do life real life we're not weirdos we talk about stuff nails we get girls guys sports all that is good but if that's all it is [Music] you need the spirit to bear witness when you're in a battle and he bears witness through godly friends so is this clear it's so clear listen we're gonna give god all the praise in a minute so a couple things kingdom sons and daughters know that a spiritual battle is not bad but it's necessary they know that if it's wartime we're going to release right our soldiers all our military forces so if we're going to release them we better take hold of our own territory our minds aren't you just sick and tired of your mind being this um it's like this battlefield all the time it gets old after a while your heart is so deceitful but you keep letting it be deceitful and taking over you there's a better way we can fight he died for us he took care of it so that we could fight just like they fought for me in that prayer meeting i would be dead if they didn't say oh let's fight chrissy's in a mess let's fight 20 minutes and i'm here today 20 minutes of people doing some spiritual battling and i'm here today it's real it's real so this is a beautiful thing of this scripture let's read the first part because i love it you are my god and my king i'll read it to you there it is see the devil's china you are my god my king right we're kingdom sons and daughters and my god i'm so glad i know who i am who decrees victories for jacob that's us how many of you need a decree of victory spoken over you tonight a decree of victory [Applause] you need a decree of victory and you know that this word was for you this word is so much for me i can't even tell you like god you have a sense of humor you give me a message that i need more than anyone in this building i do because sometimes we're duped eve was duped you know what what um satan did to eve the word sin began he's he said to eve he was basically trying to say because he's an accuser of god he said eve god doesn't have your best in mind so take that think about it he's been doing it since the beginning he accuses god and goes after that flesh that heart i want i need right we must wake up we are gods kingdom sons and daughter let's all stand if you want to come forward and sing tonight i'm going to start to fight some spiritual battles and i'm going to receive the decree of victory tonight i want to draw a line in the sand tonight i go from this calling i've limited my calling to a greater calling and i'm going to begin to fight ryan it's time to fight right it's time to fight this isn't something you have to try in your own strength this is going to be through him so right now as you begin to play this is how i find my battles if you want to decree a victory over you sing we're going to say thank you in between but i don't want anybody to look sad show me the pearly whites this is good news this is good news so we have victory here tonight there's nothing sad about this moment there's nothing worrisome about this moment there's nothing but joy about this moment because now we're gonna do what we've been called to do tonight tomorrow the next day our because we're kingdom sons and daughters we need to be together we need to be together in these last days so god bring us and many more this sunday to seek you together and until then we promise to
