our current moment and take it we invite your presence here to inspire the speaking and the listening to guide the live stream that all may go well so those are not here we're able to drink any spiritual nourishment they provided for us so we thank you through and by the authority of the lord makes all possible your son or elder soon king high priest jesus christ amen thank you mr forbes you may be seated and for our first taste of spiritual nourishment this morning as mr forrest mentioned we have a hard-working brother from the kingston congregation mr robin boot who will give the title when he comes good morning everyone i hope you are having a wonderful fee so far with title for this morning sermonette is fellowship an act of service that's fellowship an act of service the purpose is just to remind us that when we fellowship with one another we are actually serving we'll also look at two ways in which we can serve others through fellowship the wonderful world tomorrow draws near and very soon a war weary shell-shocked mankind will look to righteous leaders to teach the way that produces lasting peace we have been called to be future kings priests and judges in the soon coming kingdom of god we have been personally drafted into god's special leadership program the various tests trials and triumphs we experience in this world that is influenced by satan are preparing us to become leaders in tomorrow's world please turn with me to luke chapter 22 and we'll read verses 25 to 27 that's luke chapter 22 reading verses 25 to 27 and i'll read and he said to them the kings of the gentiles exercise lordship over them and those who exercise authority over them are called benefactors but not so among us on the contrary he who is great among you let him be years younger and he who governs as he who serves for who is greater he who sits at the table or he who serves it is not he who sits at the table sorry is not he who sits at the table yet i am among you as the one who serves we see here that jesus christ is describing how the world defined leadership and he is also teaching the principle of servant leadership the world's leaders claim to be friends of the people and are looking out for their best interests however even in the best of circumstances the world brand of leadership is usually harsh and selfish and is fueled by vanity self-exaltation and glory seeking in which talent and ability are cherished over character and true values christ reveals what true leadership is he defines it as serving others he reinforces the principle with the example of himself as one who serves we must emulate jesus christ by practicing this principle now in preparation to serve in tomorrow's world in god's church today there are many areas rules and ways in which we can serve others but we must remember that not everyone can serve in the same capacity reference there to first corinthians chapter 12 within verses 28 to 30. that's first corinthians chapter 12 28-30 not everyone can serve as an elder or a deacon not everyone can serve through public speaking or through administering nor can everyone serve as song leading or performing special music the greek word for fellowship is koinonia coin and here that's k k-o-i-n-o-n-i-a it means partnership participation and the close association between persons emphasizing what is common between them fellowship describes that unity of the spirit that comes from our common beliefs convictions interests and desires fellowship requires that time be spent with another communicating sharing and caring as christians we fellowship because of our common belief in our redemption through faith in our lord and savior jesus christ our intimate relationship with him and god our father and the hope we have to become a part of god's divine family when christ returns and establish his kingdom here on earth we cannot fellowship with those who are not tied to jesus christ there must be a common thread binding us there must be harmony among the brethren harmony exists in the church because god's people are unified in doctrine such harmony fueled by brotherly love pleases god the apostle john declares that when we fellowship with one another we are actually fellowshipping with the father and with his son jesus christ reference there to first john chapter one and verse three that's first john chapter 1 verse 3. turn with me now to philippians chapter 2 and we'll read verses 3 to 4 that's philippians chapter 2 reading verses 3 and 4 and i'll read let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit but in loneliness of mine let each esteem others better than himself let each of you look out not only for his own interests but also for the interests of others true fellowship is an expression of god's love an outgoing concern for the good and well-being of others serving the brethren in fellowship requires that our mind be filled with outgoing concern not with self self righteousness or selfishness we should serve with the genuine humility having the true perspective of who we are and treat others with love respect and common courtesy we will now look at the two ways in which we can serve through fellowship and the first one we look at is by rejoicing or sympathizing with others that is by rejoicing or sympathizing with others the apostle paul paul wrote rejoice with them that do rejoice and weep with them that weep reference there to romans chapter 12 15. that's romans 12 15. this is not a suggestion it is a biblical command each of us is responsible for caring for one another this includes giving others our love and brotherly affection when a member gets a new job after months of being unemployed or a baby is born to a a young couple or a family who has sacrificed and saved finally manages to buy their first home when fellowshipping we must rejoice with them we must show our enthusiasm and share in their delight conversely we must be sympathetic with others when things go wrong in their lives for example the loss of a job or sickness or death of a family member this does not mean that we should go to the extreme and break out in fits of anguish but we should show empathy using godly wisdom to listen console and encourage brethren serve them in their time of need the second point we look at is by remembering our isolated brethren by remembering our isolated brethren fellowship must include those veterans who are isolated perhaps age health challenges or distance is preventing them from assembling with us and especially in this pandemic we have an obligation to look out for their interests as we read in the above passage and demonstrate to them that they are loved wanted and appreciated we can give of ourselves by sacrificing our time to make visits when possible or make contact by phone whichever way we can serve by encouraging upholding and straightening our bridging remembering that iron sharpness iron we should always remain balanced in our fellowship and should never assume our responsibility that is not ours god calls every member into the body as it pleases him referring there to first corinthians chapter 12 and verse 18. that's first corinthians 12 18. if we have not been called into the church as a minister then neither should we assume the authority to try to instruct or rebuke those through our fellowship instead we should preach to to our examples and our conduct we should always aim to have a definite purpose in our conversations so brethren let us learn to effectively utilize the tools of fellowship and serve one another in love like to thank mr buu for that timely reminder especially in this time where kovid has caused a lot of people to isolate themselves fellowship is more important no more than ever our fourth hymn of the morning will be found on page 13 who shall dwell on thy holy hill that's page 13 who shall do london holy hill can you take a nose on her eyes please after the introduction we'll sing 13. stafford before we hear from mr stafford we're in the house special music it's titled god is our reference it's presented by the lcg international virtual feast choir so we'll sit back relax enjoy the choir music then we'll hear from our regional director mr rick stafford [Music] is [Music] we will not be [Music] is [Music] is [Music] [Music] is [Music] so [Applause] [Music] [Music] is [Music] [Music] that was beautiful you know brother and it's really a privilege to be here it was with such dear and warm brethren it's just i think back to my 57 years in the church and i remember my first time and told my wife i was feeling kind of teary i'm just so grateful to be here so grateful to have this opportunity let's turn to deuteronomy chapter 16. we'll go to verse 13. you shall observe the feast of tabernacles seven days when you have gathered from your threshing floor and from your wine press and you shall rejoice in your feast you and your sons and your daughter [Music] that this feast is not just for us individually but it's for also for our children it's it's such a blessing to see some of you that i've known for years to see some of these papoose carriers with the fathers carrying the baby up in the front and it's just you know holding on to that child i think back to my own kids who went with us to the feast for so many years and what a what a blessing it was to have been with him and to seeing the feast through kids eyes was was just wonderful instead of seeing all the work and i was a deacon for 15 years so all i saw was all the work that had to be done it was wonderful seeing the kids and their excitement for so much that was going on the feast so let's turn to mark chapter 10 mark chapter 10 and verse 14. jesus was talking about little children when they came up for the blessing and he made a statement here that really pertains to each of us at the feast he says but when the disciples saw it he was greatly displeased and said to them let the little children come to me and do not forbid them for such as the kingdom of god now that's that's an amazing statement right there and then going on down he says surely i say to you whoever does not receive the kingdom of god as little child won't even enter there that's we read that but do you get what that's saying that unless we really have attitudes and perspectives that are refreshing as a yacht as a youth we're not even going to be in god's kingdom no matter how much knowledge we have or how many years we've been in the church if we don't have an attitude of these little children we're not going to be there i think mr weston said something that struck me that i've not really heard in those simple words before but if we can't even obey god's laws of tithing and convocate which is a commanded convocation on the holy days how can we expect to be in god's kingdom leading training helping inspiring others when we haven't even done it ourselves yet i i've never thought of it quite so simply very very powerful if we go to first john 3 and verse 1 through 2. first john 3. and then verse 1 behold what matter of love the father has bestowed on us that we should be called children of god i mean we're we're god's kids therefore the world does not know us because it did not know him beloved now we are children of god it has not yet been revealed what we shall be but we know that we shall when he's revealed we shall know and we shall see him we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is well brethren i've had the privilege in the church of traveling to 83 countries 83 countries and if you shut your eyes and you listen to children playing you can't tell what country you're in and my wife and i were in nisabanya we were the only white people there and they have a lot of kids and it's just amazing to listen and watch kids play really amazing to see their attitudes at the feast it was inspiring so we can learn a lot about how we should approach our heavenly father by looking through the eyes of our children and that in fact is the title of this sermon through eyes of children now let's get real with where we are today there are 18 million children around the world have been raised currently in the chaos of war in the past 10 years as a result of armed conflict 2 million children have been killed 6 million have been disabled 20 million are homeless and a million have been separated from their caretakers these are children these children are coming up in countries that are filled with violence terrorism they've seen the destruction of their homes they've seen death of their parents of their brothers and sisters of their neighbors and of their friends and they live every day with life and survival decisions there was a book written called fight-like die soldiers children talking about the genocides that have gone in in africa but not limited only to africa where they are actually kidnapping young children and putting machine guns in their hands and then turning them loose fight like soldiers but dialect children crying alone devastated on a battlefield they've interviewed some of these children and found out that 60 of them don't care if they live or die anymore they feel that the world would be better off if they weren't even living 60 percent a struggle with the traumas depression anxiety helplessness grief resentment anger fear and they carry these attitudes into adulthood the fascinating thing about our thoughts and our beliefs and values are primarily formed as children from birth to five years is where most of the connections about how to react to human beings and relationships are formed you realize that in those first five years 50 percent of your energy goes to the development of the brain 50 percent now i've understood that the energy we use in our brain is equal to about the size of a peanut those first five years are crucial this is why daycare centers and other situations that kids go through that's the course of their life and it's very difficult for that to ever change there's an african proverb that says when elephants fight it's the grass that suffers it's the children that really suffer let's go to um let's go to matthew 24 verse 21. matthew 24 and verse 21. it's a statement that we've often referred to but if you refer to it through the eyes of a child take a look what this means for then there will be great tribulation trouble trauma catastrophe threats such as never been before when attila the hun came across from mongolia they killed 20 million human beings 20 million some people say up to 10 to 20 of humanity can you imagine what went through the eyes and the minds of children when they saw that horde coming through and knowing what was going to happen to them can you imagine what happened in the khmer rouge in the killing fields or in stalin and i'll cover more of this later on the purpose in a later subject sermon and that was nothing compared to what's about to happen you realize they've got trauma is defined as physical sexual or psychological abuse and neglect whether it's natural disasters or terrorism or there's family or community violence and we know that nation is going to turn against nation and it really is ethnic group against ethnic group it's going to break down law and order and our kids are going to be right in the middle of it the sudden loss and violent loss of a loved one refugees or war experiences including torture serious accidents are light threatening illnesses weather upsets military related stresses slavery today in texas there are 79 000 children being human trafficked right now today here is 240 just give me 234 000 adults being enslaved in texas paying or thinking they're paying to get into this country and enslaved you can only imagine what happens to children even to the place that their body parts are worth more than they are today in south texas and how stressful it is on children depends on four factors the severity of the excuse me the severity of the event the proximity of the event how close it is to the individual how reoccurring is the trauma if it happened just once or does it happen repeatedly and also the family and community reaction to it so if we go to hosea and brethren i it what i gave a feast sermon one time i gave us i gave the sermon on the reality of the coming years it was a bother to some people that it would be too frank and i'm not going to do that today to that extent but we'll just touch on it and in hosea chapter 5 verse 7 hosea chapter 5 and verse 7 it says they have dealt treacherously with the lord [Music] and they have begotten pagan children you look at a lovely child that has a clean slate i covered in a sermon recently there's supposedly there's only two natural fears that human beings have one is the sound of loud noise that wakes people up as some of you and and also the fear of falling he a child just other than that the phobias the fears the anxieties the depressions are all acquired all acquired from their parents from their schools from our society and so when it says they beget pagan children doesn't mean that they were born pagan it means that they grow up watching the wrong television zoned in and addicted to electronic media i've seen peop kids that are just you go to a dinner table they're just on there they leave the dinner table they're on there they're talking to people they're on there studies have been done showing what that is going to do to the development of their relationships and so when it says they have begotten pagan children it's a true statement let's go to isaiah 3 verse 4 isaiah 3 and in verse 4. he talks that we've read through these scriptures is here fairly [Music] succinct but look at verse 4 i will give children to be their princess in other words kids bossing their parents around kids not letting their not getting whatever they want to eat or not to eat in other words i don't want to eat vegetables so the parents don't have the kids eating vegetables i want to eat sugar so they eat more sugar i want to coke so they're going to give them a coke and of course that's got addictive substance so that that addicts them got high fructose corn is addictive more than some illegal drugs and yet parents do it because the kid wants it and so the kid learns up that they can be at a walmart and if they don't get what they want they can fall down on the floor and throw a temper tantrum and get what they want the children become the princess the leaders and the babes will rule over them we call these the snowflakes the ones who if they didn't get what they want in the election they freak out want to commit suicide go into depression can't handle anything that comes up like a no we've raised our children to fit exactly into this and going on down the people will be oppressed and everyone by another and everyone by his neighbor and the children or the child shall be insolent towards the elders when i walked into a room and if i were sitting in a chair and an elder person came in if i didn't jump out of that chair i would have found myself on the other side of the room picking myself up from the floor you can walk into a room even with family members and they just sit there and hear someone who would be an elder person and the young person just sits there and looks at them and you have to ask or tell them to get out of your chair and that would be a respectful child you do that to some and they'll pull a gun and who do you think you are to tell them what to do insolent towards the elder and the base towards the honorable down to verse 12 and for my people children are their oppressors and the women rule over them and oh my people those who lead you calls you to air so we're headed into we are in the midst of this time now we're into it now enough that it's really affecting adversely affecting even politics it's unbelievable go to hosea 4 verse 6. hosea 4 in verse 6. things are changing and if you're young you can't maybe see how it's changing if you're older you can have a different perspective hosea 4 verse 6 oh that my people they're destroyed for the lack of knowledge we are very familiar with that because why they have rejected the knowledge i also look what is saying now i also reject you from being priests with me because you have forgotten the law of your god i will forget your children a great grandfather i know it's a shock but 12 year old marriages were allowed when i have no that's not really true i i love my kids my grandkids and because of the ministry i'm not nearly as close to them as i was to my grandparents i was working with some recovery people coming out of abusive childhoods and a group of men one time and i asked them how they got through those traumatic experiences every single one of those young men that i was working with we made it because of our grandparents and i made it because of my grandparents and yet i'm not close to my grandkids i can't i should have been better could have been better but i wasn't but god says that and so i i pray every single day for my children and my children's children and children children they got to be merciful on them let's go to ezekiel 6 verse 10. ezekiel chapter 6 and in verse 10 and they shall know that i am the lord and i have said in vain i will bring this calamity upon them and thus says the lord god pound your fists and stamp your feet and say alas for the evil abominations of the house of israel and they shall fall by the sword famine and pestilence and there are many scriptures that make it very clear that for the two and a half years of what's called jacob's trouble the people largely descended from jacob which is largely our people and other english-speaking countries are going to go in to a time when a third are going to die from pestilences and diseases a third are going to die from rioting and warfare and a third are going to be enslaved so if you can put yourself and project into the future as mr weston had mentioned how your children going to survive how your grandchildren how are your great-grandchildren going to survive rioting warfare pestilence disease famine and how are they going to survive captivity because children suffer the most children are the ones that really really suffer jeremiah by jeremiah chapter 2 and verse 9. therefore i will yet bring charges against you says the lord and against your children's children my son mentioned to me some years ago he said dad he said given to generation the truth would be lost was pretty profound but it's true and it really irritates me when i hear people who just want to snuggle down and feel that salvation they just want to get off on some twiggy little issue and they really have gone i've talked to those who've been in the church for 50 years who've left the work of god and i talk to him about what's going on and how we're reaching more and more people and we're doing our hearts really there their eyes gloss over it's not a big deal to them it's a big deal to those who are here it's a passion with us this work of god because we have the love of god and we know what is about to happen and we want to warn as many people as we can and we want to help as many people as god is calling it's a passion a zeal it's not just numbers for us or knowledge about heaven hell lost tribes of israel meat and unclean foods if that's not it for us what's it for us is that we can be behind the work with letting human beings know what is really about to happen and there is a way out jeremiah then two verse nine your children's children i read that and i thought answers to the third and fourth generation cover that just a moment well i will just mention here so i don't forget it oh just a little footnote if you'd in jeremiah or acts chapter 2 verse 38 you know about that repent and be baptized but the next verse talks about it's given to those that god has called and your children you see our children have been called if they were still young when we were growing up in the church that doesn't mean they've accepted that calling some of them did and it's beautiful to see that in fact it's inspirational to see that but some who know the truth have been seduced by the world and business and enterprise and excitement and friends and all that and they've turned their back and it doesn't mean that it's i don't believe it means that that's a fade of complete or the end it just means to me there you can learn some hard lessons because you see in revelation 12 satan turns on those who've been loyal and faithful and persevered and he can't get to them but then it says he turns on the rest that are keeping the commandments these are people who know the truth who have now come to the place where they are starting to obey god and they're going to learn some hard lessons i pray every day for my kids i pray every single day that god will have mercy on them and they'll wake up in jeremiah chapter 18 and verse 21 the best i can do is set an example that's about all i can do and that's the weirdest shine is the light of people who've persevered who have been faithful verse 18 it says this says let me see if i get the right scripture here uh 18 oh chapter 18 verse 21 therefore deliver up your children to the famine and pour out their blood with the sword and let your wives become widows and bereaved of their children in other words their children are killed and let their men be put to death and let the young men be slain by the sword in the battle and you shall bring a troop suddenly upon them you talk about a traumatic event on our youth that's it that's a traumatic event and when a child gets hungry they start crying they want food and any real loving parent is just going to do whatever they can to feed that child that'll tear your heart out mr grier talked about some of the scriptures and lamentations but then i'll hit this very briefly and i like i said i'm not going to dwell much on some of this i think you can get the picture lamentations chapter 1 verse 5 and her adversaries have become the master her enemies prosper for the lord has afflicted her because of the multitude of her transgressions her children have gone into captivity the children you know what they do to children in captivity chapter 2 verse 11. my eyes filled with tears my heart is troubled my bile is poured down on the ground you've got loose bowels because of the destruction of the daughter and my people because the children and the infants fall in the street that'll tear your heart out lamentations 4 verse 10 it will also harden people's hearts because the more devastation you see the harder your heart becomes to be able to survive it you can read verse 10 yourself with someone who was a compassionate mother out of her own survival it tells what she does to her children and throughout history numerous times it's not an unusual occurrence happened in jerusalem it's happened many many places and times throughout history isaiah chapter 13 verse 16. isaiah 13 and verse 16. their children also will be dashed to pieces right before their eyes that has happened numerous times in history even on newsreels from world war ii but what do we know beyond that is good news zechariah chapter 10 and verse nine zechariah chapter 10 and in verse nine i will sow them among the peoples there are people who one third of our people who are being taken into captivity are going to be taken into various other places and they shall remember me in the far countries and some will remember and they shall live together with their and they shall return so some a third or in some cases it looks like a tenth of those third will survive not only the two and a half years of jacob's trouble but also the day of the lord which will be trauma trauma for all human beings my next sermon will cover a little bit more from a world point of view that's the time that they is who survive and you go on and says they shall live together with their their children in verse nine together with their children they shall return wow isaiah chapter 49 isaiah chapter 49 and in verse 20. the children you have i love this scripture i go through the bible every year and i have a new bible here i went through last year and i just circled what i call gold nuggets this is one of the gold nuggets screams out from the page if you listen to what it's saying verse 20 of isaiah 49 the children you will have after you've lost the others do you know what that's saying the children you have after you've lost your other ones i've never lost a child but i understand it's very traumatic to lose a child before you are expected to die i mean usually the older person dies before the younger person but to have a child die before you can you imagine how these people feel the children you have after you've lost the others and then they will come in your ears and they say this place is too small for me i need more labens realm more room [Music] i need to you know now they're starting to look hopefully to expanding and going beyond where they are that that scripture just freaks out at me when you read it go to isaiah 53 there's give me 54 verse 13 54 13 because you see there will be those who survive who are even having children but it says now that what's going to happen all your children will be taught by the lord and great shall be the peace of your children can you imagine what has happened between this event and the one we just talked about the trauma the trauma the abuse the depression the anxiety the fear the anger the revenge the hostility you know mr gibson talks about being introverted well i'm i'm really introverted you know i'm i'm an introvert you know it's just these people are going to come out introverted they're they're not going to trust anybody they're going to be traumatized to the point that they are not going to they're just they're going to need help and it says that they're going to find peace it really is they're going to find peace let's go to jeremiah chapter 31 jeremiah chapter 31 and verse 8. behold i will bring them from the north country and gather them from the ends of the earth and among them were there would be the blind and the lame and the woman was child and the ones who labor with child together and the great throng shall return and they will come with weeping and with supplications and i will lead them and i will cause them to walk by the rivers of water in a straight way in which they shall not stumble i am a father to israel and ephraim is my firstborn it's a picture of a father redeeming his children bringing them back from the trouble that they've been in [Music] go to verse 17 of jeremiah 31. there is hope in your future says the lord that your children shall come back to their own lands there is hope for those of us who understand god's plan there is hope in jeremiah 49 and verse 11 jeremiah 49 and verse 11 leave your fatherless children and i will preserve them alive and let your widows trust in me god has a love for children i don't know i guess i could tell this story i again it's one that my wife says i probably should think about i'll modify it it was a my son was like 12 years old and he wanted me to teach him something that was dangerous around the farm lighting a match with a bunch of hay around and so i was teaching him how to light a match with a bunch of hay around safely in my my skating then i and then the smoke got into his eyes and his lungs and he really got sick he kind of started vomiting and my daughter was sitting right beside him and she was like 10 years old and i said erica do you want to learn she says no daddy i want to learn the easy way you see there's there's an easy and a hard way to learn and our people are so hard-headed and so rebellious in so many ways that most of them even when they be they're attracted to the truth don't do anything i read a proverb the other day is something like it's easy to sit up and take notes it's hard to stand up and do anything about it and so when you take a look at this you realize that let me just go on down to uh make sure i got the yeah i'll just move on down beyond that given every single child is a blessing and a blessed with this world of creativity between their ears it's astounding how children that have such a gift can be involved in such mind-numbing activities as these electronic media for hours what do you think it's going to do to their personalities what do you think it does to their brain connections when it comes to sympathy compassion and relating to other human beings and yet parents in schools just let them go i'm reading a book called biochemical individuality it's a book about how every single human being including twins are all unique because of the different environments we've grown up in that one size doesn't fit all and when my wife tells me that i'm not normal i realize that's because none of us are normal i'm just more normal than others and i just you read that you realize how each into ch if you've had children you know each one's different you know i've raised dogs and there's some dogs you could take like a two by four after them and they finally look at you and smile there's other dogs you look at him and they go squish squash down and go underneath the pickup and they got it just by looking at him they got it but we're all different every human being is different every one of us including all these children isaiah 30 and verse 21 isaiah 30 and in verse 21 scripture that i'm sure will come up again but think of it in this way when you're talking to your children these children because you see there's going to be as it says in isaiah 14 excuse me revelation 14 that talks about 144 000 and said who are these and these these are the ones that are called the first fruits the ones who follow jesus wherever he goes who don't compromise on obeying tithing commanded convocations keeping the sabbath praying for god's work there's no these people are all in because you see they're not only going to be setting an example of how to live god's way they're going to be able to have learned the hard way and come through and say these words that we read here in verse 21 this is the way walking it i tried the other way and it didn't work god's using us who are coming through this world it's harder now you know my wife and i are first born our siblings tell us both that we got more spankings than we deserved which we heartily agree to but the firstborn should know better because we learn from our parents and we should have been and the kids are just kids but we we should have known so we're the firstborn that are going to be part of that group that is outlined in revelation 14. these are the individuals that are going to be right here and be able to say in their ears when they hear this is the way walk you in it whether you turn to the right or to the left that we're going to be there and it says in verse 20 says you came through the bread of adversity in the water of affliction yet your teachers and you're looking at them here the teachers will not be moved during the corner anymore but your teachers your eyes shall see your teachers in other words we're going to be there and we're going to be working with these children now these children and my dad used to talk about how oh dad i didn't hear you and all i'd have to do is give me a spanking and it made me really much better it really tuned up my hearing well there'll be some tuning up here i'm sure because their attitude towards authority but they're soon going to learn that to listen and to abide by what you are teaching them who've already been through there and done that if you work in the recovery movements you find out the ones who are most effective are those who've been recovering alcoholics recovering addicts whatever it may be because you there's no baloney with you you you don't either you're the will's not pulled over your eyes you know they can't fool you well we've been through this world and we know what it's like and we're coming out of it and we're going to be able to help these people individually and jeremiah 32 verse 29 jeremiah 32 and verse 29 verse 29 uh i think this is it maybe jeremiah 32 39 and then i will give them one heart and one way that they may fear me forever why for the good of them and their children brethren when parents skip sabbath services what do you think the kids are thinking oh it's okay to skip sabbath services when parents lie what do the kids think well it's okay to lie in this situation when the kids are watching their parents now and what are parents teaching the kids now there's that country western song the guys as i remember he's driving down the road his son sitting beside him and something happens and the kids let that the kid lets out a bad word and the singer looks over the sun and said well where'd you learn that i got it from you dad well kids are watching us and i just when i see when i see parents that have children that are setting the example that it's okay to break god's law when i see that i feel for the kids they're going to have to learn the hard way because of their parents and the parents are responsible with the education the training the example to a great extent we can do so much but at the end of the day everyone including our children will have to stand on their own but it's for the good of our children in third john 1 and verse 4 third john third john 1 well in verse 4 i have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth wow that is such an unbelievable thing that's what john who was an older man talking about his children from the church the brethren no greater joy more important than being millionaires or executives or having huge businesses but to hear that their children walk in the truth is the greatest of all the joys that john could experience and you know why now because it's for their own good and for their children's good and their children's children now we asked one of our liz asked one of our grandchildren what what they wanted in their city they were going to build in the millennium i think that was very it's funny mr gibson who by the way just really just really saved the day for me in in how conscientious he and his family have been and taken care of so much here at the feast but he wasn't scheduled as a speaker but because one of our speakers was not able to make it mr gibson was and i appreciate it but we did not coordinate our speaking but we we asked one of our grandchildren um what they saw in the city they were going to build in the millennium here here are 12 points uh nice church building all right so that's the number one uh a baseball stadium okay so far this might even be in my city a petting zoo so that all the animals you go up there and just hop on top the lion and and a giraffe would even be more fun i think uh a pool with salt water so the chlorine doesn't really bother your eyes and doing it right a beach for water sports you can go out there and boogie board right there and it's the water's clean safe you realize it's talking to someone last night and some fishermen came off here and they had 15 hammerhead sharks that caught off the coast here so uh boogie board in well i remember one time in um puerto vallarta in mexico i was we had surf coming in and well i went out there and i saw the i saw three sharks in the surf man i got out of that i could walk on water [Music] i i came out of that thing i couldn't believe but they were poor dolphins poor porpoises but they look like sharks to me so safe water for water sports arrives for mother nature like the world tomorrow or tomorrow's world at disneyland where you ride you get to see what other countries are like and you can just experience what that was like however i think most of you know what what i've asked for in the in in god's kingdom i want to be a tour guide i want to be able to take people where no man's been before and and explore i'm looking forward to that when the when my great great grandchildren say this land is too small for me i say hey come on with me i'm going to show you and we're going to pioneer and we're going to do it right this time i'm really looking forward to it and i'm looking forward to zipping around the universe taking people where they've never been before no man's been there before and we're going to be there and we're going to colonize it and set it up right i really look forward to those i like to do it right now at costco i like to take that big i like to take that big that flat thing put the grandkids on it and run through the aisles but i want to do it as a spirit being i really do i look forward to that i but that's that was he wanted that and i thought that was another one natural history museum where you can go and see the amazing creation that god has given and just just fascinating when my wife and i travel i she's not so interested in i am but i like to go to the museums just i just love going to museums whether it's in budapest or wherever i go i go to the museum well this this person also felt the same way and i i look forward to that because we're going to have history museum there and then an outdoor market where you can go out there and like the souks uh like in israel where you can go up and down the aisles and buy farm fresh produce and all that and and uh and the the proprietors you're looking at that uh apple there are those grapes well you want to try yeah yeah you get to try well that is good mom can we get some of these that's an outdoor market that's going to be great i i think that'll be awesome a concert hall where we can have really beautiful awesome music and we can enjoy that stables for horses absolutely we've got to have these are things that are gotta haves and i mean this is a golf course oh there we go now he's really on it this is really it but it also has to be a country club where everyone could go but where there's volleyball tennis and basketball courts too all right because we're not all the same and lastly the the point he mentioned was uh a great bonfire out in the cooking area where we can all be there and have a big bonfire and and having s'mores or whatever you want there i mean these are things that are awesome there's not one thing here that i don't want in my city and that's from a child's point of view and then the question came up well will i be able to have children well you know what absolutely i asked that same question 50 years ago and now i'm a great grandfather you know you just you just have no idea but we do know i won't turn to it isaiah 56 verse 4 and 5 that even the person without children god is going to bless them in such a way that that's not going to be nearly as important as having a billion children that are that love you that you're training your teaching god knows what's good for us he gives us all the good things deuteronomy 6 and verse 6 through 7 he says these are the commandments i give you today to be on your heart impress them on your children talk about them when you sit down at home and when you walk or drive around the road and when you lie down and when you get up in isaiah 11 and we definitely will cover that again but there is a perspective here i'd like to emphasize isaiah 11 and in verse 6 he says the will shall also dwell with the lion and the leopard shall lie down with the goat and the calf and the young lion shall fall and the ch little child shall lead them you know that's really interesting if you have a domestic bull you can sometimes see a 10 year old carrying that walking that bull around and they just they just follow along i mean that little bull could that boat could do anything but we already can see a beautiful nature that god has in animals that aren't perverted the cow and the bear shall graze the young ones shall lie down together in the lion she'll eat straw with the ox the nursing child shall play with the cobras hole and the wean child should put his hand into the viper's dan my daughter i have a grandson he's now about eight but when he was three years old he went this is an organ he reached down and he picked up a red black and yellow snake and my my daughter screamed at him bridger bridger is the name of if any of you from the west you know bridger jim bridger was a mountain man but my grandson is a mountain man and my daughter is a mountain woman taught him about coral snakes but he reaches down he picks up this snake and she screams he says bridger drop that snake well mom remember red touches yellow will kill a fellow red touches black friend of jack this was a king snake and he is three years old knew that the red was touching the black so he was a friend and he had this whole the snake playing with it because they've been taught that's what's going to happen we're going to be able to teach people the good from the bad and the danger the not dangerous and they're going to be taught they won't just be left on their own to run and learn and run amok and that was a neat story that that really did happen ezekiel let's go to ezekiel 37 ezekiel 37 and verse 25 ezekiel 37 and verse 25 i said then they shall dwell on the land that i have given to jacob my servant where your fathers dwelt and they shall dwell there with their children and their children's children forever and my servant david shall be prince over them moreover moreover i will make a covenant of peace with them and it shall be an everlasting covenant with them i will establish them and multiply them and i will set my sanctuary in the midst of them this is just so awesome and i'm going to be there that's just it's it's in my mind i'm looking so much for you go down to zechariah we go to zechariah and we'll go down to chapter 8 of zechariah oh come on here zechariah in zechariah chapter 8 says old men and old women shall again sit in the street of jerusalem i never thought i would get i would live past 30. i never thought i'd get to 70. i never thought that i'd get to where i am because in houston we have a role that some of you you don't become a senior citizen in houston until you're over 80. that's when senior citizenship begins in houston other than that it's like my son he just turned 51 i said welcome to middle age 50 to 80 is middle age and so when you say the old men and the old women who sit in the street each one with a staff in their hand like they need a cane and because of old age the streets of the city shall be full of boys and girls playing in the street and they sound the same world around of kids that are playing and rejoicing isaiah 65 isaiah 65 verse 23. they shall not labor in vain well i'll start right above that and my elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands that's you and me brethren and they shall not labor in vain nor bring forth children for trouble they shall be the descendants of the blessed of the lord and their offspring with them wow that's the children not for trouble but as a blessing and we know from romans 8 and verse 16 that we now are the children of god so there's two concepts i'm going to leave you with here i'm going to give you seven quick instructions attitudes that we're going to have when we're working with these children that are coming out of the great tribulation and we know it'll apply to them but i'm going to later on apply it to you and me number one that you are greatly reloved greatly loved that you're that you're special number two we're so very sorry for all you've gone through and it's gonna break our hearts these people have gone through horrible horrible abuse and we we feel for them but you know that's water under the bridge and you're forgiven there's things that people do under duress and forced to do that never would have done and this is a time we're going to be able to talk to them they don't need to carry that shame and that guilt around anymore and number four we're here for you you're protected you're safe now we're here for you number five you know we're really proud of you we really are we're really proud of you this is christ said god the father said something that really meant a lot to jesus but you know i i worked on the farm for all those years and my dad my dad never said he was proud of me i heard from neighbors he was but he never said it until i was 61 years old he says son i still think you're in a crazy church but i've really seen you change and i'm really proud of you well you know what god gave me that i realized that i didn't need it from my father i needed it from god my father but that was built into me a desire to please my father and that was just an actual blessing for dad to give it to me but we're going to be able to say that to these children i'm proud of you we're proud of you number six now it's your responsibility you're not a victim anymore this is the time now to we're there for you but it's now your responsibility and number seven you've got what it takes with us helping you now i could stop right there but i want to just expand it and go through that again because you see right now you're god's kids now you're just children and we make mistakes and we come through different experiences each one of us is different and god knows that he knows how to treat us special and so god is saying to us now because he i won't turn to but second corinthians 6 or just what is it 18 that we're his sons and his daughters we're now god sees us as children we we can go through this sermon looking from the point of perspective of our children and other people's children but god sees us as his children now and he says this you're greatly reloved you're greatly loved so much so i gave my only begotten son for you i looked down and i saw something special on you and i realized that you could be one of those first fruits that are going to be helping other people because you've got a heart to care to help number two we're so sorry that you had to learn the hard way but you learned and that's what brought you to where you are today number three you know you've turned around you're going god's way now you really are forgiven you have a clean slate you don't need to be wallowing in the shame and the past you've got a tremendous future you're forgiven and then what god says and jesus christ says through the comforter he says we're here for you we're never going to leave you or forsake you we care for you number five you know we're really proud of you i can either you know i i picture standing by god my father and and just put my hand i i hang i look like i'm just i'm gonna hang on to his pant leg you know what i'm i fear god i don't want to get outside i've done i've learned everything out there i want to learn my way my wife made a when she mentioned something to me she said a phrase and how's that working out for you i don't want to do that anymore i'm done but this is it you know we're proud of you god is proud of us these are when he christ knows what we're going through here and it's not easy at times but and christ looks down he says dad look at that satan was to accuse him of this and that and everything else but look at their they fell down but look at they're getting back up again yeah that's it that's my son that's my daughter as my brother asked my sister look at him isn't that cute and they get up and they smile and they giggle about falling down number six this is now your responsibility i'm going to show you how to live i'm going to help you to live that way i'm going to give you a ministers and a church that cares that are going to not try to just get numbers but really help you to grow and become more like jesus christ but you know what it's time to grow up it's your responsibility now and number seven with the help of god we've got what it takes and i can just end the sermon by just saying this is god's children facing unbelievable trials here in the next few months and years we've got this like to thank mr stafford for that truly encouraging message not just for our children but also for us as children of god our final hymn of the morning we found on page 25 wait and hope and look for god and after this the singing of our final hymn we will be led in the closing
