Faith in God Makes a Somebody Out of You

hey I'm John jester not Jim fog join us Monday through Friday live on victory for morning prayer 9:30 Eastern you don't want to miss it from the revival capital of the world this is victory good morning and welcome to faith foundations I'm Pastor John jester an associate pastor here and I know that this does not look like what you would normally expect faith foundations to look like we're in a different season in a different time but I'm so excited today you know why because we're back in church you know it's been prophesied that this thing would end sooner than we thought and we would come out on the other side even more victorious and that is exactly what has happened and today the household of faith is getting back together sure we're not in our sanctuary and we're not sitting in our seats and we're not in the building all in the same room but we are back together in the form of a driving service right here on the property of Kenneth Copeland ministries Neagle Mountain International Church it's the revival capital of the world and we're all coming back together for a Sunday morning service and in keeping with this being a special day we wanted to bring you a very special edition of faith foundations in this edition of faith foundations brother Copeland himself will be teaching now many of you are excited about brother Copeland the fact that brother Copeland teaching faith foundations in and of itself but it's not just brother Copeland teaching we've gone back in time we've gone back into our faith archives and pulled out a very special treat this is the program that started it all it's brother Copeland's very first TV broadcast called prayer group prayer group was a program that was centered around people sitting around talking about the Word of God and talking about how to live victoriously in life and specifically talking about how to pray from the position of victory so this program actually is the inspiration for a couple of different programs that you've become familiar with on the victory Network for instance morning prayer was inspired by this program you call in you give us your live prayer request we take those prayer requests and we pray for them on the air this program was the inspiration for us doing that additionally homegroup the format for prayer group was believers sitting around opening the Word of God together and having a conversation having a teaching moment in the form of conversation in the Word of God and our home group program came out of that program so you're gonna get to see that the the original format for some of those things in this special edition of faith foundations this morning speaking of a special edition of faith foundations I want to give you a little bit of a challenge you're gonna see brother Copeland at you that's obvious right like he's the one teaching but you're also gonna see sister Gloria see if you can pick her out there's another individual in this teaching that I want to see if you can locate if you can spot him Jerry Savelle Jerry Savelle was right there with brother Copeland at the very beginning during this program I want to see I want to challenge you and see if you can pick him out of the people who are there it's gonna be an it's a really an amazing program and it's interesting to see how our the foundations for our heritage of faith was laid through this program brother Copeland gets in the word and he talks about the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much out of the Word of God man he goes to the word and he begins to teach and talk about how to pray for your city how to pray for your nation how to pray from the position of victory using your faith in prayer pastor Terry oftentimes says there's something about it when people who know how to use their faith come together and pray and this is an example of our very first foundational teachings on doing just they listen I've been talking a lot about this because I'm so excited about what you're about to experience so take a moment go get a piece of paper notebook pen Bible definitely want your Bible and open that Bible to Matthew chapter 21 let's go back in time to 1972 prayer group and let's learn something about our heritage of faith and then I'll be back in just a moment [Music] welcome to the prayer group with Kenneth Copeland [Music] and now Kenneth Copeland there are all there's more of them in there than then we'll ever get prayed for tonight but we're going to take it just as far as as the Lord will allow it tonight and then on the next session of prayer group we'll go from there and pray for more of them even if we have to go ahead and continue to pray for a little bit after we get off the air tonight we would do so and finish up the prayer requests that we never had before praise the Lord so this is a great opportunity there's another area of power that's available to us and I want us to believe for the Word of God says and well in the amplified translation it says that the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous men makes much power available from in so there are people all over the place that don't have any other way to tap into the power of God just simply because they don't know how and they'll have to get it through what we do here so as as we use the word as we pray as we get involved let's let's consider this prayer group an extension of God's power to these people out there that don't have any idea of how prayer is used and so forth are really we can cause the power of God to come on people that maybe I've never even heard of it before just simply by praying just simply by praying for the the cities and the the political arms of our government so forth on all these different rivers so this can very easily become one of the most powerful opportunities that any other so I tell you this is great praise the Lord I think it'd be good I'll tell you that that's all I was just catch hands right now I'm will believe God together as we move into this father in the name of Jesus we set ourselves together in this prayer to be moved by the Holy Spirit to make available power for people yes that have no idea how to how to receive your power that have no idea how to be moved by the Holy Spirit and use us in these areas as we Minister the Word of God and as we talk these things together before you we thank you for it in Jesus name praise your name these praise your name amen praise God before we get into the the active activity of praying for all these prayer requests that we have tonight I'm going to share some things with you from the word little that will help not only to get us really in tune with the Lord as we pray let's look at Matthew's Gospel the 21st chapter first of all and let's start with the 21st verse Jesus is speaking here jesus answered and said unto them verily I say unto you if you have faith and doubt not you shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree but also if you shall say to this mountain be removed and cast into the sea it shall be done and all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer believing you shall receive man that's great all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer believing ye shall receive well now you notice he said in this 21st verse here if you have faith and doubt not probably as a minister of the gospel I know you've other men being ministers know what I'm talking about probably the most living question among serious-minded Christians anywhere that you preach or anywhere you preach or anywhere Richard preachers are the rest of as far as that goes they the most alive question that's brought before any of us is do I have that kind of faith if I do how on earth do you put it into action how do you get it to work where does it come from what feeds it actually that the most general part of it is I'm doing my best to believe God now I'm trying to believe I'm trying to have faith I'm trying to use my faith but I don't know how and it just seems like I can't get a handle on this thing you know well I know that's what bugged me for an awful long time so Jesus has said something here he said in that 21st verse all things whatsoever you ask in prayer believing he shall receive so there's a lot of importance put on that believing isn't it now he didn't say just 75% of the things that you you pray believing you get or just 10% of them are just the little things are just the big things he said all things whatsoever you shall ask in prayer believing you shall receive so actually if words mean anything what he said here if you have this kind of faith then you have the ability to believe and if you believe whatsoever thing you asked for when you pray you're going to get it now if words mean anything that's essentially of what he said all right so then this question would arise do I have that kind of faith if I have that kind of faith and if Jesus was telling the truth and you know he most certainly was then it will work right now he didn't say this it only worked for 200 years thank the Lord he just said it will work prayer has not passed away certainly not okay let's turn over to first John then and let's take a look here at something that is in the fifth chapter first John the first verse whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God and every one that loveth him that began all so that's begotten of him now by this we know that we love the children when we love God and keep his Commandments now what's this third verse for this is the love of God that we keep his Commandments or that we keep his word and His commandments are not Grievous for whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world and this is the victory that overcometh the world even our faith okay now now what does he just got through sin in the first verse whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Son of God is born of God and then he comes head to say whatsoever is born of God has the faith in him to bring about victory enough to overcome everything that the world throws at him then that right I mean that's what it said it said whosoever well praise God whosoever and that you know I'm in that whosoever me and is bound to me and me he said whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God so I have to believe that I'm born of God because I believe with all my heart that Jesus is the Christ you do too don't you Richard thank God I believe that okay then if I if I believe that then I got to believe this fourth verse that says whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world and this is the victor to overcometh the world even our faith so thank God if I believe I'm in the whosoever then I got to believe him in the whatsoever whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world with heart with that victory kind of faith alright now remember what Jesus said if you have faith and doubt not all right this right around and said whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ has that kind of faith right you've been then the next thing that really ought to turn us on stronger than anything that's where anybody that's a serious minded Christian anybody that that has any attempt to use his faith at all is this if I believe that Jesus is the Christ and I do then I am born of God being that I'm born of God that kind of faith is residing on the inside of me then the next thing that I come to is this all things whatsoever I ask in prayer believing I shall receive so now the only person left in this thing that needs to do something is me and that's believe right I mean I I pray but then the next thing I must believe it I've got the faith it's in there now Jesus has pointed this out in his word so the next thing I'm going to move on is the prayer of faith now really there's a great amount of praying going on with not much believing you know well you know that I know that too and there's a lot of people that pray just to be praying Jesus has given us reason to pray for results to expect results when we pray just like we do here in this prayer group there are a lot of people that are saying they're beddy-byes you know and and and get me up in the morning and and what-have-you without actually ever praying for results never stopping to think well this thing that I'm fixing to do is going to bring this results it's going to bring this thing that I'm believing for it's going to come to pass regardless of what anybody says or any what anybody else does because God is going to use his miracle power if necessary and bring this thing to pass now when people begin to pray and to believe God in that kind of faith in that kind of attitude not only that kind of spiritual attitude but that kind of mental attitude then there will be results Jesus gave us his word for that he said all things whatsoever you ask in prayer believing you shall receive thank God so we can have the we can have the the courage to really tackle some things in this prayer group that any one of us mentally would would maybe never even think about much less attack it and attempt to change it everything from physical disease right on up through matters of state and so forth the Word of God tells us to pray for our political leaders to pray for the the men that are in authority in this country well why just to be praying no praise God to get results thank the Lord so then this excites me with just the the opportunity to get involved in a thing like that now another thing that always arises here how do you believe well that's a good question and this is what we're going to go into it's really not nearly as complicated as people make it out to be when you begin to realize that this word this Bible God's Word is his part of our prayer life remember what I said just before we started in this session if Jesus himself if we could see him in the flesh and he walked into this prayer group just as we started to pray I don't think anybody in here well certainly nobody in his right mind would say now Jesus now you listen to me you just said over there and be quiet don't say anything called brother I'm doing the praying here I'm gonna make up these prayers and I'll you know that's stupid not only stupid but it's just something you wouldn't do you never even think about doing that why well if anybody knows anything about praying and getting results he does it right all right by the same token it's just as foolish to sit down here or get on our knees or anyplace else far as that goes and make up a lot of words and form up a lot of maybe their prayers and maybe they're not when all the time you have God's Word which is just as good as it was the day it was spoken or it's just as good as if he walked in here and said it himself so why should we go build up a lot of words and mental ideas and so forth when we can go directly to the Word of God and pray in line with that now you know you said that Jesus walked in here and and he he said folks we're gonna pray and we're going to pray for Joe's family and we're going to pray for Jerry's ministry and we're going to pray for Richards ministry and his job and we're going to pray for Kenneth and and his family and his Minister and so forth you know what it would not enter my mind I wonder if God heard those prayers well certainly that's him talking that's boy that's the son of the Living God doing the speaking and then write that Jesus himself see that that wouldn't even any of your thinking what would you think tomorrow or the next day or the day after that after you've prayed the prayer would you stop and think well now I really wonder if God's gonna answer those prayers I wonder if God heard that I mean after all I wasn't crying very loud when Jesus prayed or I wasn't you know I didn't knock the couch over our door anything really no that wouldn't even Kurt to you why why would it not occur because you have confidence in your heart and in your mind both that Jesus knows his business when it comes to praying and you know that if he said that's what he's going to pray about then that's exactly what he's going to get his results in that right all right that kind of faith or confidence in God's Word will bring the same kind of results that it would if Jesus prayed it it'll bring the same results if you pray it that it would if he prayed it why because of you know because it's God's Word see he's already said it now do you remember what the tenth chapter Romans say says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God so I pray the prayer based on God's Word consequently from the time I pray it until the time that I've physically see the manifestation of the results of the prayer I'm gonna stand in faith see that's really what faith all about is believing God's Word and acting on it praise God man that turn just the idea that we can have that kind of audience with godness I'm gonna say well brother Copeland I don't know well I'll tell you right here in this first John I want you to look at some things here that that our being said I'll tell you let's look in this fourth chapter look at the the fifteenth verse whosoever there's that whosoever again well now praise God whosoever means whosoever you know whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God God dwelleth in him and he in God now you meant what Jesus said in the fifteenth chapter of John's Gospel he said if you dwell in me and my words dwell in you ask what you will and it will be done unto you well thank God that took it out of the realm of Jesus doing the praying even didn't it well here it said whosoever think it's a law whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God well I'm ready to do that aren't you praise the lord i confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Son of the Living God now I have a right to believe that God is at work within me so now the next step jesus said and my words dwell in you there's that word again see his words this is the place where the faith is based now do you mean to tell me that God would hear me that God would answer my prayer than he would here hear me well that's exactly what we're talking about in the 3rd chapter xxii verse whatsoever we ask we receive of him because we keep his Commandments or keep his word and do those things that are pleasing in his sight this is the commandment that we should believe on the name of the son of God and love one another as he gave us commandment and he that keepeth His commandments dwelleth in him and he in him praise the Lord this is the confidence that we have in him that whatsoever we ask according to his will we know he hears us and we know when he hears us we have whatever petitions that we desire to praise God and that's what the word says about it you see it gives us the right to pray but not only that gives us the right to expect results now it really and truly somebody said well not that do you really believe that miracles have been done away with I really don't care this is no concern of mine I can't do miracles anyway so what I care whether they did or whether they didn't I'll tell you what I can do I can pray and believe God's Word now if God has to do a miracle to cause that to come to pass that's his business he can do as he pleases but I'm gonna believe that word man are you following me that's what causes prayer together so what do you think did you enjoy that I know you did I enjoy watching that program it is really cool to see where it all began I'm really big on our heritage of faith and and being a part of something much bigger than you are right now and so you got to see a little bit of a of a flash from the past of where it all began that's so awesome listen if you like that we may do something like this in the future so make this you've heard pastor Terry teach about this brother Copeland has taught taught taught us on what's going to happen within the church body when this is all said and done this is our finest hour because we get to demonstrate to the world what it's like to go through something and come out on the faith side I'm so excited about this morning I'm so excited about the church being able to get back together and I'm excited about what God is doing in your life I know that you didn't just watch that program this morning for entertainment you took nuggets of faith from that program is interesting how something from 1972 work to build your faith to build your sense of who you are in Christ Jesus and to put you on the victory side that's just the nature of the Word of God it's everlasting it goes from this time to that time there's no time or distance in the spirit and 1972 anointing 1972 Holy Ghost was getting people ready for right now and you're able to tap back into that get that same anointing and bring it into today so brother Copeland will be with us this morning not from 1972 but from right now you're also gonna get to see some pretty cool footage of interviews taken from people behind the scenes all of the folks that it takes to make a service happen but even more importantly all of the people that it takes to make something as big as our drive-in Service happen you're gonna get to hear their heart and get to hear them talk about the things that they've done to make this morning a reality praise and worship is going to be awesome so the the under a spiritual understanding of victory would invade your reality this morning as you celebrate our coming out father in Jesus name I thank you for those who are watching this morning I pastor gene back to you thank you thanks Tim that's great this is David and we're it's out of control you listen where are let's talk a little bit real quick about where we're at because this isn't a historical property it is this is the were standing on the tarmac right now that the airport from the 40s a Marine Air Corps Base World War two and what's the callsign for the pilots well now it's four tango alpha two and so that's where we're holding church today so we want to tell you a little bit want to show you a little video about behind the scenes setting all of this and then we'll be right back this service is special because it's so anticipated like getting ready for a big family reunion we're just ready to be in proximity with all of our friends and partners and congregants an exciting time to be back together the best part I think of doing a service like this is what kind of all emerging from our cocoons and coming out of our houses from this lockdown and like hey there's my friends I maybe you might be able to shake their hands but coming together as a corporate group and worshiping together again I think that's probably what makes it so unique it's special so we're able to get together this week and reunite the family and be together just as Christ said me and you are one we are one together and I know you can have that corporate anointing with your family at home but it's so much more powerful to be here together in one place at one time for the same purpose we want people just to experience an atmosphere of joy and victory despite all the chaos and circumstances that are happening in the world that they can come to this place and experience God's love and power right from their cars I want exactly what Christ wants him to experience Christ said I go to prepare a place for you to bring to come and get you and bring you back to the Father so I want to them to experience I think the service is going to be so special because it's finally a chance for our congregation our family to get together I think experiencing that same move of God no matter where we are is what we're hoping the people experience is just the same worship excitement and expectation that we experience every Sunday you know we're gathered together to glorify God and that's what it's about whether it's from our car or in a Pew the fact that we're out here on a tarmac you know at an airport that's pretty unique this is a place of celebration you know and what better place to do it then right here on our peoples Wow Wow come on back in here this is our eye on believe it yeah I truly believe it I believe we are seeing an awakening yeah there they are they agree with us yeah this is gonna be a great surface it's like nothing we've ever experienced before this and it is amazing so I'm so excited for this morning okay talk to these super kids and 14:40 kids out here all right well first of all honk if you have a super kid or a 14:40 student hope you are enjoying your programming this morning on your phones or iPads it's gonna be a great morning and I think super kids have some some goodies in there they do they do I want to be a super kid again are you too old to be a super kid never too old forever a super kid I grew up a super kid a remote super kid but a super kid nonetheless and you've got a house full of them I've got a house I got five super kids so you Tom loyal now tell us about the virtual church because we've been doing that with the super kids and 44 yeah you know it's been so good to be able to find a way look if we can if we weren't able to have church at the time when all of this began to happen it was so important that we did everything we could to make sure that we were connecting with students yeah at whatever it takes and so we we got together and we we started working on some amazing programming that is tailor-made just for your students so yeah we've got we've got programming from super kids right all the way up until it's a high school and the bridge is live-streaming pastor Stephens been doing an amazing job live-streaming to our college students our but come on give it up for the bridge and the college students so it's just been amazing to be able to connect with everyone at their level and I know Katherine that you've been a part of that as well so what's it been like to do that sort of virtual church that you've been doing you know I I don't like it as much as getting to preach to y'all face to face but it's been so good and it's awesome because we're able to connect with people who we normally wouldn't be able to reach so EMI c.org / virtual church ain't on Facebook we've been able to really reach a lot of students okay well you guys ran on stage you can run off stage now I'm offering time that's funny that's funny I want you to open your Bibles this morning if you would please to Psalm will 15 psalm 115 and we're going to be talking about increase increase pray hey there you go increase psalm 115 starting in verse 12 the lord will be mindful of us he will bless us he will bless the house of israel he will bless the house of Aaron he will bless them that fear the Lord both small and great the Lord shall increase you more and more you and your children you are blessed amen you I guess those hunks are amens aren't they you are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth the heaven even the heavens are the Lord's but the earth has he given to the children of men we see here in verse 14 the Lord will increase you more and more you and your children turn turn turn to Genesis chapter 1 Genesis chapter 1 and we'll find that increase was God's original plan for mankind God's original plan for you and for me is to increase not to decrease not to go backwards but to go forwards and we find here in verses 27 and 28 of Genesis 1 so God created man in his own image in the image of God created he him male and female created he them and God blessed them God said unto them be fruitful and multiply replenish the earth subdue it have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over everything that moves upon the earth God's first words to mankind was the blessing the ability for men to be empowered to do the will of God and to do everything that God had called him to do and to take the Garden of Eden and take it all over the world that was God's first words to man they were the blessing but we need to understand that first words set precedent what is precedent it is a legal decision that must be followed in subsequent cases precedent was set in the beginning when God spoke to man and set forth the blessing and he said to them be fruitful multiply replenish the earth subdue it and have dominion over it and the word multiply there in the Hebrew is the word increase he was say men he was saying to be fruitful and multiplied to be fruitful and increase God's original intent for all of us is to continually increase proverbs chapter 11 turn to proverbs chapter 11 in verse 24 how do we increase how do we increase and in proverbs chapter 11 verses 24 and 25 it says this in the New King James Version there is one who scatters and he increases more there's one who gives how many givers and tyler's do I have here right now [Music] how many cheerful givers are in this place right now so there is one who gives yet they increase more there's one who withholds more than his right but that leaves two poverty the generous soul shall be made rich and he who waters will be watered himself so we find here that the way that we increase is through our tithing and our giving our sowing our faithful sowing into the kingdom of God brother Jerry Savelle brother Jerry Savelle had a word for 20/20 in 2020 the Lord said I will open a new door and I will cause my faithful ones to experience supernatural increase as never before do you receive that do you believe that as we as we so today let's so and give our time expecting supernatural increase supernatural increase in our lives and I'll finish this with a word that Jerry Savelle gave in his church some weeks ago about the times that we are in and what's going folks I had a mother that that prayed for me night and day and day and night and night and day and and night and I have a wife that loves me loves me unconditionally and she had accepted the Lord a couple of weeks before and you have to understand she was she was born and raised in a church that that never mentioned anything about the new birth never said anything she didn't know what the word saved men she's never heard about being born again but she was just sitting in an empty house on a rollaway bed because I found the pole place up and I'm not going into that Horror Story anymore but hey my mother sent me a Bible it was laying on this gorgeous beautiful coffee table that I had made in high school shop class you should have seen that stunning thing it was awful that little Bible was lying there my mother had sitting and she wrote a note to me precious darling present in precious seek ye first the kingdom of God and all these things will be added to George that one verse that one witness from my mother but see it took a person somebody had to write that in that Bible and send it to me and mothers praying all the time and Gloria just prayed this simple simple simple prayer she said well I certainly need things Lord take my life and do something with it he took her life and he has certainly done particularly how they lose praise God forevermore praise God forevermore now have faith have faith in God have faith in the Holy Spirit have faith in Jesus have faith in your faith have faith in this book have faith in God listen to me have faith in the United States of America have faith in this nation this is the only nation under heaven this is the only one there is none other like it there's never been one like it this is the only state that only that the only nation ever in existence that the very first act of its government the very first act of the of the Senate the very first house the Hat act of the house the first act of Congress was to walk down to the temple to earth to a chapel and go in that Chapel and then George Washington our very first president dedicated this nation to the preaching of the gospel and to the Lord Jesus Christ have faith in the United States faith in this nation it is an overcoming nation it's under horrible attack terrible attack but how they hit her she strife sick right now she needs your prayers but have faith in the issue of gloves verse 27 well a certain woman which had an issue of blood twelve years had suffered many things many physicians spent all that she had nothing better brother grew worse when she had heard came in pressed behind and touched his garment for she said course she said [Applause] [Music] if I may touch but his clothes I shall behold if I may touch but his clothes I shall behold and straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague Jesus immediately knowing in himself and so forth I want to get to that 34th verse for she said if I but touch his clothes I shall be made whole I will be made whole daughter thy faith hath made thee whole if I as she said she said if I were to choose clothes I will be made whole she said she said it she said it and jesus said your faith have made thee hope so what she said was her faith speaking what she said was her faith talking what she said it's what she received what she said is what she received she recieved what she said and she said it and she did it and she told it praise God she received hallelujah what'd you say what you say is your faith speaking but I just don't know how I'm going to come out of that that's your faith speaking accept it turn to fear what you and I say about this mess that the devil through own the world what you say about it is what will happen you are the prophet of your own house you are the prophet of your own job you are the prophet of your own income you are the Prophet you say it it's the way you say I'm not the prophet over your house
