hi everyone in this video you will learn how to quickly create lookalike full body 3D characters using photos of real people which has just become possible through the new integration of King tools and real illusion products face builder for Blender character creator 4 and hgot 2 we're going to set up from blender using the face Builder add-on which lets you create custom textured 3D heads with just a few photos so let's hit create a new head and then add images to load these photos of a real person we have here taken from different angles 4 to eight pictures usually give you a great result you can watch more videos on creating heads and face Builder on King Tool's YouTube channel now that the photos are loaded in we'll need to line up the mesh in each photo we're going to select the first image and then just above it over here check allow facial expressions and also lock neck movement let's click on align face which estimates its position in 3D and then adjust it manually by dragging the existing pens or creating new ones trying to match the facial features in our geometry with the photo so we're going to go through all these images doing the same kind of thing just putting these red dots where they should be it's important to pay special attention to the eyes and the Brows to get a good texture in the end let's do a second round and tweak all the important parts like the eyes and the nose of course there's always room for improvement but right now it looks like the me sits almost ideally on the head so we can exit pin mode and take a look at our model what we'll do now is Project the texture from the photos onto geometry let's go to the texture tab select maxace UV type then go to Advanced and check equalized brightness and equalize color to smooth the texture and make it more even then click on create texture and hit okay here we go now we have a head model with the distinctive shape and facial features detailed texture and an incredible level of likeness so we can go ahead and make it into a complete 3D character in character creator 4 and then bring it back to blender what we'll need to do is go to the export tab down here and hit this character creator button which will run the software and transfer the mesh and the texture made by face Builder right into it make sure that you have the latest versions of character creator and headshot installed you can download them from the official reallusion website as it opens face Builder mesh gets aligned with the cc4 mesh resulting in an automatic transfer of the geometry and the texture right now we're in the stage three which is called refine mesh and that means we can fine-tune our head shape which is displayed right here in this viewport let's make it a bit bigger by dragging this side of the window and if we take a closer look at our mesh we may notice some imperfections in its shape like over here we see that the nose didn't fill out right versus the face Builder profile so let's click on this project button which is actually a brush you can see it as this red circle in the viewport you can change its radius intensity and also fall off and what you can do do with it is go over the surface of the mesh and make it sort of cling better to the original face build ahead you can already see that it has improved the area around the eyes so it may be a good idea to do the whole model like that and to make it faster we can select this symmetry edit checkbox and then we'll need to work only one side of the head and the other side is going to be processed automatically as we go when we finally like the way our head looks we can go ahead and click on attached to body we're going to go for female and here too we can also select texture mask Tye which is basically how much or rather which part of the head we wanted to take the texture from but for now we're going to go with no mask and just hit generate and see what's going to happen what we get as the result is a female character generated by character creator with our face build ahead let's go to the content Tab and see how we can customize it let's first go to hairstyle in the hair Tab and apply this chick bun medium hairstyle to our character and then we can go to clothes full body cc3 folder and put this wide dress on on our model of course this can be any other clothing you have in your assets we can actually add and remove various parts of the model to do this we'll need to go to the scene tab here's the full list of the elements we have in our model let's select bra for example and just hit the delete button likewise we can select bang and get rid of a fringe to make our character look more like the person in the photos we can also go down here click on this motion button and select a pose for our character let's pick this stand pose female for example now since our goal is the likeness of our character one of the most important things we should focus on is skin texture let's see what we can do about it we're going to select our model and go to the headshot tab let's first scroll down to the bottom and select auto update and then up here we're going to select skin type let's go for clean soft for example the next thing you may want to adjust is skin color we can use this Color Picker to make her skin a bit more tanned for instance then right below it we have skin settings that we can also play with then further down there's face mask and if you open it you'll see a pretty long list of different options you can use to sort of localize the texture we created in face Builder let's say we want to use the texture on her face and we want the rest to be generated by character creator so we can select this hair covers ears but less face option and here we go there's something else we should probably pay attention to if we go to display in the attribute tab here in the modify panel and close our eyes with this button we'll see that we have eyelashes baked in eyelid texture we can fix this with the eyelid mask so let's go here and select maximum eyelid as you can see it made two big holes in our mask over here so the texture on her eyelids now is generated by character creator which is nice we can do the same with her mouth and nostrils let's go here and select medium nostril mask for example as you see again it made two more holes in our mask right here and that makes your nostrils look a bit better too you can actually apply any external mask so you can draw it somewhere else like in Photoshop and then upload it to character creator another thing that needs a bit of adjusting is the eyes so let's go up here and select eye color in our case it has to be brown now let's go to the MS tab on the modify panel then go to actor Parts search for eyeball Iris scale and put this value up a bit we can also adjust the eyeballs position let's go back to the headshot tab scroll up to the shape adjustment and check activate sculpt morph this is where we can adjust the shape of different parts of our head head so let's select eyes and then just drag one of the eyeballs to the side to set them a bit further away from each other we can then rotate the head side on zoom in on the eye and adjust its depth so just pull it out a bit like this let's deactivate sculp morph go to display again and make sure her eyes Clos correctly now let's see what we can do about her hair let's go to the scene tab Select Hair base then go to the texture tab on the modify panel Select Hair in this material list then scroll down to the Shader settings click on root color over here and make it darker let's hit okay and do the same for the end color then also select the same color for the bun and maybe it'll be better if we just delete these brows so clearly all these things are highly adjustable let's go to the actor tab here in morphs and as you can see we can control almost all parameters of every single part of our model here like for example head scale neck scale and shoulder height and we can also go to the attribute tab again and open her mouth with this button and then back here in the morphs tab we can go to mouth and adjust teeth upper scale and height and also teeth lower height so our character now looks pretty good let's send it over to blender and see how we can further shape it there and also add animation let's go to file export fbx and select closed character here in the export menu we're going to first select blender is our destination then select mesh in the fbx options uncheck embed textures and then go ahead click on export and save it to dis as say mesh. fbx then open blender and import our model but first we need to do some important preparations let's go to the addons in blender preferences and activate the rigify option which allows us to work with the local rig then go ahead and install the character creator for blender add-on that's its name characters cc/ I tools you can download it from GitHub following the link in the description to this video Once you install it you'll get a new tab on your side panel so just go to that tab click on import character select our fbx file and hit import we have our character inside blender now let's zoom in and explore the settings we can play with let's go down here to the scene tools Tab and select this cc3 lighting scheme for example now we're going to create a rig for our model let's go to the rigging and animation Tab and click on this big big rigify button this way we get control over every single element of this model inside blender let's go to the pose mode grab this ey handle for example press G and now you can twist it around to make her look in a certain direction and so on let's switch to the object mode and then go to Rend viewport shading and turn overlays off now over here in the character build settings tab we're going to select basic and then hit rebuild basic materials this is going to create a simplified version of materials that works well for export but we can also make our character move so we're going to go ahead and apply some animation to our model one of the easy ways to do it is go to character creator click on this motion button go to female and then select walk female for example we can play it right here and let's say we are happy with it so we can send it over to blender we're going to export it in the same way as we did before so go to file export fbx clothed character we need to select blender again and then over here in the fbx options we select motion we also need to check current animation all then deselect first frame in bind posst and now hit export and save it as a new fbx file then back here in blender on the Character Creator panel we click on import animations select our fbx file and hit import now let's go to the rigging and animation tab select the animation we've imported here in Source amateur and also Source action and then hit preview retarget let's turn show overlays back on and hit play here we go there's our 3D character with a unique appearance based on photos of a real person we can now add it to a live action shot or export to environments like Unreal Engine and unity it's dressed up and animated and it really didn't take us long to make it that way to start your journey in character creating download Face builder for blender from King tools. and character creator 4 and headshot 2 from reallusion tocom thank you for watching I hope you enjoyed it and I wish you exciting projects with a lot of time saved while creating your lookalike 3D characters sh
