EYELINER MISTAKES AND HOW TO CORRECT THEM | ALI ANDREEA

hi everyone welcome back to my channel amanda ali and in today's video i'm going to talk about do's and don'ts of eyeliner the eyeliner is staple in the makeup world it has been a thing since cleopatra it has always been pretty it has always been sexy but it's damn hard it really is even for a makeup artist there are tips and tricks to help you make it better to help you try it in case you've never tried it so this video is literally for beginners of beginners who always wanted to do eyeliner but they don't really know where to start or they kind of adventure in the eyeliner world but then they made a lot of mistakes and then they gave up or they could just wear eyeliner in the wrong way now get me closer you might be thinking like there's something weird with your eyes it's because on this side i've created the eyeliner the way i think it's uh wrong but in a realistic way um i don't like to exaggerate things about makeup because then i don't think you actually learn anything so on this side of the face i've created the eyeliner the way i see very often women do and maybe if you would have seen this you know on both eyes you would thought it's actually not that bad you know and i agree it's not that bad i mean at the end of the day it's just makeup okay it's not brain surgery but then but then if you see this side of the face the way it could look then you might be like ah now i get it now i understand so that's why i pretty much like to point out the mistakes so that you understand better what you could do to improve your technique because it's all about the technique now if you'd like to see what are the do's and don'ts about eyeliner then please keep on watching okay now we're gonna get super close please when you're a beginner and you want to learn how to do the eyeliner you should know a few tricks first of all don't use a product that is waterproof or super long lasting like the marc jacobs highliner that i use all the time or the perma-gel pat mcgrath that i use all the time because those type of products wherever you apply them it's super hard to take them off that is more for someone that has a little bit of experience when it comes to um doing their eyeliner i suggest you to use a product like a pencil not a liquid eyeliner first because it's just easier to take it off in case you make any mistakes so this makeup forever artist color pencil this is just perfect honestly i love this sharpen it really well my left side is going to be the wrong side okay the first mistake that you could do is to just pull your eyes like this okay and then you just follow this line right well this is not going to work most of the times because this is very misleading when you're pulling your eye like this it's very misleading and as you can see it went much lower than what i think it's flattering this is number one most frequent mistake second mistake that you could do is to is to just take this line go down and then go up wait this is not realistic like a lot of people do this do this little coma this could eventually work and actually let me be more realistic with it i have a mirror right here so that's why i'm on the side and apply it like so i see a lot of women doing this actually when i'm doing my courses like one-on-one courses with women when i used to do that because i don't anymore we know why when i ask women like how do you do show me what is your way of doing eyeliner this it's actually super frequent this type of this shape right here and here comes the third mistake do you see this little space right here between the lashes and the actual pencil like that's that's not a good idea this side of my face i'm going to show you how i suggest you to do it but first let me finish with all the possible mistakes you could do to mess up your liner another frequent mistake is to make your eye be shorter than what it is like not not finishing the line here's how it usually goes and then you stop somewhere in here because most women would be afraid like they really do not know do not know how to continue this line so they just stop right here and then they add mascara and that's it that's not really flattering for anybody let me show you on this side of the eye the things that might help you create a nice straight and easy sort of eyeliner i'm taking the same pencil i use it on the side i keep this pencil flat on the mobile lid okay just with the side and then with the tip i get in between the lashes using the tip and getting uh in between the lashes it gives you that beautiful black base it's just not flattering on anybody when there is a space between your product and the lashes here is what i advise you to do if you're a beginner so look in the mirror and from the middle of your pupil you're starting to make your line a little bit thicker and then you get on your last lash all right and then you look straight into the mirror this is the secret i would say to look straight into the mirror especially if your eyes are a little bit like hooded or if you have deep set eyes like i do and then i imagine that my water line continues okay imagine that there would be a line that continues from the waterline up okay that's kind of the line that you have to have in your mind okay for each person is different so for me i look straight into the mirror i use just the tip of my pencil to just sketch the direction of the wing and then i sort of fill in the space right here from here until here now i can lift my eyebrows and perfect it if i would have done this if i would have lifted my eyebrows from the very beginning it would have completely misled me when it comes to this beautiful sexy black line um that frames our eye you need to have patience so now i just perfect it and some days i want my line to be like perfect and other days i'm fine with you know being uh just okay now i've applied mascara and i want to show you something if you would have seen this eye without seeing this one you would have thought maybe you know it's actually not bad because always the mascara helps but then if i show you this side of the face can you see how much better your eyeliner can be it's fine if you do your eyeliner like this all i'm trying to do in this video uh is to show you a different way that you could adopt maybe or maybe not i don't know
