we are here at a junkyard in uh tennessee there's a few cars here that i wanted to check out uh you'll see these here in just a minute like that right there i'm probably gonna take some stuff off that because i i have one but come this way there's a few mopars that i saw on their website that i had to come see what we have here i think this is a 69 or 70 dodge truck long bed and then a 67 dart sitting next to it some parts have already been taken off of it but i'm planning on taking the things off of it that i can and kind of showcasing you some things that are here in this junkyard it's kind of unfortunate i hate it but once it enters the status and the title is registered as being junk it can no longer be sold so we're gonna get the parts off of it that we can and use some good parts and put them towards other things but for the time being we'll just uh see what we got here so an immaculate grill this car had a beautiful grill in it when i saw it on their website but it's already gone but this truck here i'm taking this grill uh the fenders are beat up so i can't take those dad needs a set of doors so let's take the doors with me steering column i don't necessarily need but we're going to do something for this so this truck had there's a slant six from the factory and look so it's a 323 rear gear ratio and it's a sure grip so i am taking that 323 sure grip with me back home um there's no telling why this thing got parked probably just something that was sitting it's a 70 by the way it's a it's a june of 1970. it's it's a shame i do hate to see this truck sitting here but again it looks like they had even picked the cat like the cab was probably nice and they put forks through here to pick it up and they probably beat the fenders up to pieces down the hood right here so it probably was a really straight truck before it showed up here first off tailgate this is coming home with us this is a really nice tailgate i didn't know that they had cables like that that's pretty cool under here it's got an eight and three quarter and it's got a 323 sure grip like we saw on that tag so that again is coming home with us look what they looks like they just punched a hole in the rear differential just to make all the fluid drain out of it that's sad because an eight three quarter for a truck it's kind of hard to find and they just ruined it but i mean that's just what they do that's how they the junkyard has to operate under a set of rules and they sell things for certain prices so first things first let's just start getting some parts off um off of this car or distract but the car over here 67 dart the decklid's coming home with me pretty rust free looks like these are kind of hard to find so it's coming home with me i've got a set of doors that are nice so i don't really need these but somebody might the door panels are okay it's just again another parts car little six cylinder automatic fender's dispersing weld it looks like it's been painted about five or six different times another six cylinder under the hood i mean if there's somebody out there who needs this stuff it's really good parts to have but i mean i've got like 10 slant sixes that i don't need so it's kind of a shame but you know somebody was already here smart enough to go ahead and get the grill off of it i guess that would be the original that's like a turquoise that's a beautiful color right there i bet you this car was really nice back in its prime so we're going to take this hood with us because this is a very straight and dent free hood and parts like this are kind of getting hard to find i mean if you even if i don't have a car like this there's somebody out there i might know who needs these parts so uh again we're just gonna take what we can wow this thing has power assisted steering on it too check this out so back then they just had like a an arm right here that came off of the power steering pump and it was just a uh a cylinder on the side of the steering arm you can't really see it from this angle but it's down in there and it's just power assisted instead of being directly on the steering box it just had like a a what do you call it like a it looks kind of like a shock it's like a piston basically just goes back and forth and that was power steering for these trucks so pretty cool to see something like this again kind of sad but still pretty cool i wonder if anybody has a ranch they'd let me borrow i can get that one [Music] the biggest problem whenever you're doing something like this you're always never going to bring the right amount of tools no i can't get it can't get it okay well well i guess we need to go see if we can borrow a ranch what i'm going to do though is go ahead and loosen up everything else i see here this looks to be an original unit because it still has the tag up here which if that gets replaced typically the tag gets lost or thrown away i was a little bummed out to find a broken stud in this housing and what this did it caused me to not be able to get that last night out of this housing so this intersection unfortunately did not go home with me a little bit bummed because that was the one prize piece that i wanted out of this entire day but we still get a lot more good parts this whole dilemma led me to want to find something else maybe as a viable option for a rear axle and we talk about that in just a little bit towards the end of the video so stick around for that surprise nobody took this unless i see something i don't know something i've always told people about these old dodges at least this year model they uh they wanted you to be able to work on them so they installed factory workbenches inside under the hood because they were going to it's just a matter of when coming i hope that's gonna take the whole down out somebody's having a bad time over there oh wow of course the last one's gonna be the there worst go whatever oh there we go oh good doesn't come out maybe that's a bolt that's what they're doing okay this one screw is going to give you problems so and this one over here [Music] so i hated to do that but the screw right here was stripped and it would not come loose so i just had to wiggle this free so one screw hole out of all these didn't survive but at least it's off let me get these plugs these lights out there we go let's check out our prize a beautiful polished grill this will this will clean up really nice and put it on something hey dad could use it as for his petty truck or whatever the case may be you never know we might have another one of these trucks [Music] dad wanted a set of doors for the latches because his truck doesn't shut that well so grab these doors while i'm here this side's all beat up and ruined but the other door looked pretty good so again just more pieces that somebody could use some nice some visors too how's the dash [Music] [Music] so and i already want to go home i'm stupid [Laughter] that's right i'm gonna take off this tailgate too this is a really nice piece to figure out how to get it out it's got a little rust scaling up but overall it's a really nice really nice tailgate i don't really know how you take these out you gotta pull it from one side or something i don't know if i have to take that out or what take that screw out i might have to drill this i have a drill take a whiff i can't smell it i'm congested probably should be inhaling looks like they painted kind of a baby blue color underneath here on the outside of the car it looks like it's been like seven or eight different colors no telling how many paint jobs this thing's been through but the good news is they at least marked it to tell you what kind of car it is it is a dodge this hood looks very nice as well just steal all that we can while we're here what's kind of sad about this car is it looks like somebody put a new fuel pump and then the rubber hoses here are not brittle the heater hoses are not brittle these aren't factory clamps uh carburetors not locked up i bet you this is probably not off the road very long whenever it got apart kind of sad kind of upsetting again but you know i can't help i wish i could save them all but we can just save what's left on them i bet what happened somebody probably tried to get it to run and then it wouldn't run such as life set it over here this used to be easier when i was a child i'm gonna take a fender off of a dart within like five minutes but now this one bolt that's inside the fender is a hassle those are the days there we go got it would you like to have this not really [Applause] feared [Applause] few things i wanted off this truck i don't know if i'll be able to get so these screws i tried to drill one out and it didn't work and they don't want to budge at all i can't i don't have a screwdriver that'll take it out and i don't know so the tailgate is going to stay unfortunately i have one more idea for the center section a 323 sure grip if that doesn't work then some lucky soul's going to get them a nice 323 that's partially been disassembled so i have an idea well my plan was to pull the drums pull the axles and probably try to get some kind of leverage so that way we could uh you know pull the center section but it's not going to happen these drums are seized on here they do spin but i can't i don't have anything to get it off with so somebody if you know if you come get this you're gonna have a nice intersection if you get that stud out and get these drums off the axes pulled you're pretty good to go you know hey maybe if it's here next time we come here i'll pull it out but for now let's go ahead and look at some other vehicles around here and just see what kind of gold is in this junkyard number one way to go [Music] [Applause] on top of these two vehicles that i really uh gravitated towards there's a lot more here so let's just kind of go down the line luckily there's a tag here that tells me exactly what it is so we had a 53 oldsmobile 88 and when i tell you she's seen better days i legit mean it like all this rust kind of i mean it's just heartbreaking but you know somebody hopefully can get some parts out of this thing not a whole lot of glass left in it that's good i don't know if that's yeah i guess it'll be factory for this year i don't know what the uh specifications for that engine is i really don't know much about them to be honest but probably some form of high performance model with the four barrel carburetor pretty neat to see still got the the tag on it with the body the style the trim number paint number all that stuff probably a really ugly baby puke green but somebody likes it now this one makes me sad an amc hornet this car looks like it was not a bad car when they was got he got parked in here look at this a little bit busted out but the engine is absolutely complete nothing wrong with it and just let's see if it's locked up can't spin it i mean it's sad it really is sad just to see something so clean that maybe you know transmission might have went bad engine i don't know something happened to it but look at this straight as an arrow four-door check out the interior on this thing flawless look at the this right here this seal panel american motors man if somebody had one of these cars like like jacob davis i think he's got one of these at sally's speed shop he would have a ball with his car right here really just bums me out to see it but hey it's here right here we've got some type of chevrolet i don't know what to do a lot of people like to make rat rods out of this body style truck some kind of hauling i would assume it was a 48 48 truck that wild big massive ton and a half looks like just left somewhere and that was it look how big the rear axle is giant absolutely ridiculous how much i mean scrap alone there's no telling how much money you can get out of this thing so is it a two speed yeah this thing is ridiculous but again somebody could probably take the cab off of it and use it now this 169 pontiac grand prix look at that very rusty probably some dad look at the rust that just chewed away at it i wonder if it got repainted or something and that just messed it up wow that's terrible yes it had to be repainted somebody pulled the dash out of it probably a really pretty car back in this day red and white no engine or anything look at the front end of these cars they're so odd how how they look we've got a good old-fashioned t3 headlight in here that's the original headlight for this car those are hard to find one's gone but you know to have a set of t3s it's hard to do what is this 56 do it yeah look 56 buick century the old nail head i used to have a 55 buick super and it had a nail head just like this one same carburetor same engine basically identical so if i still had that buick i would be all over this car and stealing parts but unfortunately this this poor car has seen better days look at that blue look how pretty this car had to be had to be absolutely wrap around dash absolutely immaculate but it's all like done up and clean it's really sad really sad trying to get pieces off of it somebody i bet you that's hard to find because literally one year only in one model only it has to say 56 buick century let's look at the trans am [Applause] this poor car 78 trans am i don't know if it was in a fire or what but it just fell apart wherever it was sitting automatic don't know what kind of engine it's got a lot of pieces are kind of there center console dash steering wheel's got a tilt column in it probably somebody would want that this breaks up front but it had the uh the trans am hood i would i attempted to get this but what am i going to do with it besides hanging up on the wall it doesn't have the bird on it but i would it still had the logo i probably would take it you can't really i don't see a bird but still pretty cool to see if they had the if it had the wings and all that stuff then i'd be all over it somebody's instead i'm stealing hei parts off of it again very sad now i do have one of these somewhat i have a 66 ford custom it's a two-door state trooper car i don't really see anything that i need off of this the only thing that i see that's the same is uh probably from here forward which all the pieces on my car are pretty nice the grill in this one besides right here looked immaculate the bumpers fairly straight looking big block four some type of fe four barrel could very well be a some type of 428 i don't know exactly but i need to be a big block four barrel that's gotta have some you know up there in cubic inches maybe a 390 i really don't know if somebody tried to shut the hood and it just fell apart the hinges were shut man this had to be a beautiful car in its day had the wood grain on the side there the trim right here the wood paneling i bet you that looks beautiful this is a beautiful truck i love this got a small block in it but it's a short bed two-wheel drive very nice bed look at that so what they did you know back in the day you had to put the mud tires on the back and the little baby tires up front you probably used it i mean it was probably a work truck but a nice set of tires on wheels don't it do we need another set of wheels and tires i don't think so well this is a clean example i mean it been painted i'm sure a few times but you know don't seem like any rust is in it it's a 63 it says still got the rear end in it old nine inch man these trucks when they're nice and clean absolutely awesome here we have a 74 mercury monterey this car wasn't good look at the interior on this thing not sure what happened with this one probably the same situation a car just sitting in somebody's yard [Applause] what kind of motors you got it it looks like a probably a modified yeah 400 modified that's a luxury car back in its day look like somebody started fixing all the paint trying to buff it out you look here parts car 600 bucks kind of wild ain't it see this big old car straight as an arrow but still in the junkyard but over here lincoln mark iv whoa look at the rust on this thing so probably had like a half vinyl top there was trim that went across here i would imagine and that just destroyed it that's wild floor pans are nice snake skin that's a factory option right there in the floor 17 wasn't 79 that says 79 look how big this door is like it's so unnecessary to have a door this big and only be a two door this is the biggest two doors in existence again straight as an arrow probably another modified engine 400 this one's got the enduro spark ignition on it yeah 400 cubic inches so modified engine just like that car but a lot of good parts on this thing if somebody wanted it plastic inner fenders all the vacuum hoses you could ever imagine probably work these bad boys i had that red thunderbird and it was all vacuum operated and it worked whenever you cranked the car the headlight doors would come on obnoxiously for no reason spare tire situation here but no spare tire of course make sure filters wow huge truck it's a shame it's weird to see old cars like this now something that's pretty popular for a swap or rear axle explorers they have 8.8 rear ends very popular with the mustangs ramp like the v8 cars now this one i checked the code and it is a d4 which for this one would be a limited slip 373 and it just so happens somebody saw that code and said that's what i want took it with them a lot of these cars the first thing that gets taken out of them is a rear accident there's another one that's been taken to pieces so somebody you know there's people know that these are very popular swaps so it's neat to go through here and see what different rear axles there are like i saw one with a 308 that's open so nobody wants it but you know 373 somebody's going to put that like you could put that in a dart a mustang what they do because it's offset to one side you cut one side down narrow it and then put an axle for the short side and then you've got a nice rear end that's centered as it should be so a lot of cool stuff out here i mean like like i said if you know what you're looking for you know you can find something there's ford small blocks v8 stuff this is the one that had the open 308 here's a complete example just a nice 8.8 look at the rotor what happened they just let it go didn't they they said you know i'm gonna ride it until it can right okay i respect that and of course i have a favorite here the mustangs uh this car i drove from when i was 16 on to like 24 maybe so yeah these body style mustangs big fan of them plenty of them out here too plenty to look for here's another i think these have 8.8 thunderbirds the earlier ones had drum brakes on it but it's still that five and four and a half inch bolt pattern i don't know what actual this thing would have or what the code would be let's see axle why i have no idea what code that is but there it is it's probably a 3.8 v6 or a 4.6 v8 see another explorer over here i'm kind of i'm curious to see what all the explorers have for rear axles this one's complete with this brakes on it too 42 axle code means it's not a limited slip but that right there is in 14 gear so somebody might heck throw it in an old drift car a race car weld up the spider gears and get you 410 pretty awesome to see stuff like this look at that i hope that they actually take this car and sell it they do that with some of these 63 corvair that car is way too nice heck if this thing comes in through the scrap yard you best believe i'm out here wow that car is beautiful breaks my heart makes me sad wow where are you headed taco bell say less i guess we're walking look at these bumpers that is a nice bumper for a later model dodge i wish it would fit my 80. this looks good though it would fit but it just says at the right time i think what they do is they'll have inventory that stays for so many days and then they'll move it over here crush it put it in that big pile and bring more inventory from over there that's why you see stuff like that the corvair sitting over there i saw volkswagen and anova very sad but it's okay some cars have to die so others can live now that we have explored the yard we're gonna go ahead and head back home and uh kind of inventory what we got and just uh go get dinner because i'm starving [Music] you
