we're at Forest Lawn Memorial Park Lindale California hello everybody this is famous graay with diamond Dave I'm at the Statue of David Michelangelo statue of David this should be a Prett good video there's many famous Graves I have in mind to visit so away we go Gardens of memory this is our lucky day the door is unlocked this area is normally closed to the public public I've been here many times it's the first time the door is unlocked we're at the colum barium of Eternal Light there's five famous Graves within this Colin barium that will'll pay our respects to first stop is Victor mlogin his film career spanning from the early 20s through the 1950s he co-starred in seven films with John Wayne you may have heard of him he wins in Academy Award for for best actor in the 1935 film The Informer uh Mr mclagan it really does give me great pleasure to present you this award for the best performance of 1935 in the enironment thank you Mr G I can ifying words to express my gratitude and thanks for this actually I want to thank everybody responsible for making this possible all I can say is I'm exceedingly happy he has a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame as well right next door is a major Hollywood Legend Humphrey Bogart born Christmas Day 1899 thought he's much too young how about that Humphrey is hard to beat just across the way towards the bottom we have another actor from the 20s through the 50s George kigga he's mainly in uncredited silent films however he did receive credits in two movies the Nave of diamond and the woman with a fan and right above we have Ray June who was an early cameraman during Hollywood's golden years he's part of films from 1915 until 1958 upon his death and close by is another individual behind the scenes Fred searon he works in special effects he wins two Academy Awards for his work in the 1940 film The reigns came and crash dive in 1944 all right let's get on out of here let's wander around and see what other famous grades we can can find I think out in uh this area is Mary Pickford so we'll Wander over there and see if we can find her the proof is fall or the sound of the leaves crunching beneath my feet we're walking up on the uh the tomb location of Mary Pickford just beautiful she's originally from Canada comes down to United States she's an actress appearing in several movies becomes America's sweetheart also works as a producer screenwriter she marries Douglas Fairbanks that would be senior together they are founders of United Artist Studio she dies in Santa Monica of a cerebral brain hemorrhage on May the 29th 1979 now we're at the columbarium of the evening star in this area we'll make a few brief stops uh first straight back is one of my favorite Hollywood actors this is the niche of Robert Taylor Robert's neighbor is another 20s and 30s actress Pope andread she appears on stage and also does some Hollywood films now we're going to move over to the East wall of the columbarium of the evening star we'll stop by this is the niche of Marvin Davis he's an art director involved in the film industry in the 50s and 60s he's also heavily involved in designing Disneyland here in Anaheim California and right above us is a comedian actor John bunny he's also the son of a silent actor John bunny [Music] senior well that takes care of this colum barium let's let's wand around and see what other famous Grays we can find oh hey I want to check this door because Sammy Davis Jr is behind this locked door I always check it while I'm here let's try our luck doesn't look like it's unlocked yeah of course not no Sammy Davis Jr today but maybe one of these days this Cemetery plays music in the col bariums and the mosle Liams as well hoping one of these days I can get through that locked door Sammy Davis's father's there too and and his wife out to these she dies in 2009 Samuel Goldwin in there as well of MGM also Sam Cook the singer we're going to make an interesting stop here this is the final resting place of mvin Leroy it's quite a story his mother runs off when he's 5 years old with another man strands him and his father the very next year the 1906 San Francisco earthquake destroyed their family store it was a dry good store the insur insurance company was bankrupt so there's no claim payment made he and his father are now penniless they end up living in a tent on the edge of town his dad died when he was 16 years old now he's on his own so he decides to head to Hollywood to get into acting starts out as a young man in the mail room and then ends up becoming a c camera operator he does some other odds and ends job but later he becomes a powerful director and producer working with the likes of Clark Gable Robert Mitchum and Lana Turner well how about that good for him it's not where we start out at it's where we all end up let's get out of bed early each morning and make the best of each day and remember to smell the roses along the way I got to say the back is a gone of the win actor Rand Brooks he played a part of Charles Hamilton which he despised because he wanted to play mcho Parts in movies when he retired from Show Business he raised and Brad and delusion horses he married Stan Laurel's daughter Lois Laurel she died several years after him in 2017 right behind us up towards the top I recognize a a name of a Hollywood actor I'll zoom up there get a better shot goes by Ben pza I remember him from The Blues Brothers movie I think that was about 1980 and Bad News Bears I think he was in that 1976 speaking of taking time to smell the roses these fresh flowers this entire colum barium smells like fresh roses nothing better than red roses all right let's get back out and visit some uh ground interments got a grounds keep keeper how you doing uh usually they're pretty nice they leave me alone as long as I stay respectful and I certainly won't get around any areas where there is a service going on I always want to be respectful the only time I've ever had problems here is at the great maum where they told me to pack up my camera and get out on top these stairs we we're getting into What's called the uh Court of Freedom up on the left would be our first stop in this area where these flowers are Natalie Cole she has a smash album in 1975 called Inseparable it went platinum right acoss across the road the wall there ways is the freedom mum that's where her father's inter teered n King Co I featured him in another video on my Channel Next Door a couple of spaces over if you come over to the marker 1775 or 7715 you'll find
