All right. The project at hand right now is
I want to do a little bit of a clean up around here. So starting right here like that,
stump hanging over the edge. That looks bad. Another stump right there. That one. So there's another stump right there, and there's a little bit
of brush on the side. Do you think we'll clean that up
real quick? Yeah. Let's get to work. All right. I have not started this in over a year. It's got engine oil
just over the full mark. That's good. Oil looks fine. Yeah, that's right. To the top. hydraulic oil is in between the lines Batteries completely dead just after midnight,
and I just gave it a stack. Going pretty good. It's crazy how Just re stacking it in the morning. Always gets it going again. So easy. It rained last night, too. So I don't have to worry about Cody
going anywhere cause Cody, show us what you have Did you take that from a deer? Right. Did the deer say you could have that, it was okay? You don't care, huh? The deer can grow a new leg? Well, anyway, usually when he has that, he doesn't go anywhere I went to start this. And it started right up and shut off. And now I got nothing. Turning the key. Nothing at all. There is a big fuse here. I just turned the ignition on. So now when I power that, I have headlights and hear the fuel pump. Look at that. That didn't actually blow. Or maybe that blew So I was only able to find one
of these fuses, and it's a 30 AMP That should work. It just popped. A couple of days later, I got these fuses. The lights are off. Oh, no, that blew the fuse. This has an actual electrical problem. This fuse blew instantly. Lets use a circuit breaker. Why isn't this blowing? these wires are hot. Oh, look at the wire jumping. Okay,
you know why this breaker isn’t blowing? Because of the size of this wire. That's where it's
this wire Can't handle 50 amps. maybe it's something with the glow plugs. Where are the glow plugs? because that would be on right now. I'm just trying to figure out, like,
what would be on at this stage, the glow plugs, because you got to think like it's
not going to be any of the smaller systems because, one, they're not on and two,
they have their own fuses. The glow parts do not have their own fuse. There's a short on the glow plug wire. You can tell just the way it's that's why it's 50 amps because they take, you know, a decent amount of power. Yeah that's why it's hard to start. The glow plugs don't work. Okay, it will start. Oh, I feel the thing clicking here. What is this? I want to unplug this thing in my hand. What is this? Is this a relay? I unpluged the glow plugs Why isn’t it starting? I wonder if the battery's dead. This is the relay that puts power
to the glow plugs. When you first turn on the key to warm up the engine,
they take probably at least 30 amps. So when I turn on the key that's clicking the problem goes away
and it's not shorted. So that means there is a short
being at this wire, solid red. And that one's got a black stripe. I bet you this is power all the time. And this is power to the actual
glow plugs. So what we got to find is probably an issue with this wire
or a bad glow plug or something Looking for damaged wires. Is that it? Look at the wire sitting right on the engine
block right there. Stoped for a second. there's that wire. it's a knick in it, but may not have been the issue. Okay. Well, Maybe it was an issue with the glow plugs. I mean, that's working,
as you heard, to click right off I bet you one of them shorted out. 0764 NGK That's usually the best way
to get parts for stuff. If you find a number on the part whenever you're getting parts for stuff like there's a few ways to search parts,
like one way to do it would be a search like
Kubota KX121-3 parts That's probably the most expensive way because the part
may get marked up multiple times. Now in this case, probably not
because this this is a about Kubota excavator
with a Kubota engine, but a lot of excavator companies
don't actually make their own engines. They're buying it from someone else. So if you had a Bobcat brand excavator
with a Kubota brand engine and you're searching parts
through Bobcat for the Kubota parts, that's getting marked up I got a number off the engine
that's better than searching whatever the machine is. But then if you can find the parts like this where there's a number on it That's the probably the best way. Just make sure the parts, you know,
look right, because sometimes the different
versions of stuff, but part number on this too, lets get that ordered, put that glow plug back in
and took some covers off this. I just want to wash it. That looks damaged. Oh, yeah. I think I hit something
on the side of the machine and pushed the fiberglass right into this. Just to make sure we put it back exact same route Shame we cant just put an end on this Okay. All right, Figure it out what one it is
Its this one what's happening? Oh, they don't want the hydraulic shop Not going to have that go all the way this way with it have the rope in the right spot New hose from Kubota I figured out the secret. You just got to pull really hard. This right here. That's easy. Reattach this New glow plugs
Looks the same. And I also got the same brand take a piece of paper towel, turn the key on. that's not what I wanted to see. Well, that could be caused by the size and length of this wire. lets put the fuse in it. Okay.
Well, the fuse hasn't blown That light should go out when the glow plugs are done heating Yeah. All right. It's working Demonstrate how these work power right there. power to there and to here. It should get hot. So that one getting red hot that's drawn quite a few amps, though. Try this one. Also getting hot. Hmm. Should be able to test amps like that. Okay, so that's drawing Just over five amps. One of these should be drawing a lot more than five amps 6 And then it goes down six amps. What I wanted to see one of these just shorted six amps and to show, like, what a direct short would be. So right there is a direct short or let's put it on 200 amps. So right there,
this thing's making 27 amps before the breaker. Here you hear that breaker, click off. Now that's back on again, huh? I assume one of those was having an issue,
but they all work. But I mean, the fuse isn't blowing. It's working. Battery was just loose in here. I fixed that.
It is important that those don't wiggle. Well, this is supposed to be bolted right there. Oh, that's not stiff enough. At least the length is good. They should stop making things with those that ones even smaller. This one's supposedly stiffer, but it's got a smaller diameter. Well, My friend with a sawmill wants these, so I'll give it to him. Pretty good sawmill logs. You know, they're straight, so. All right, well, this machine is working good again, so no more blowing fuses
or any other issues This one is close to 10000 hours. I should use this a bunch, it's a four digit meter So it would be pretty funny to get that
flipped all around all zeros again. But I'll write that 1 on there because this machine earned that that 1 Right, buddy, what do you think?
What do you think, Cody? Well, next thing, I got to put a trench
on the side of that driveway right there. All right, well,
we're all done with this video, So let's go working on else. You hear those coyotes? I hear them Are those coyotes?
