those who have been deemed worthy to wear the inquisitorial rosette are tasked with carrying one of the most terrible of burdens they are perhaps all that stand between the quintillions of human beings living within the Imperium and eternal damnation the fate of the entire human race May rest upon the actions they choose to take this is a pretty huge responsibility and due to the fact that the threats to humanity can come in infinite different forms so too does the Inquisition take on a myriad of different roles philosophies and doctrines to guide their holy ordos no two inquisitors are exactly alike and they will each approach a problem in a different way utilizing different methods depending on their unique experiences and knowledge some may choose to travel alone and undercover While others may work in teams known as cells some may walk the strict and righteous path of the Puritan whereas others choose to skirt the edge of damnation on the path of the radical whatever decisions they make whatever path they walk and whatever methods they choose to utilize it is the solemn duty of the inquisitors to move amongst mankind as a living shadow striking down the enemies of humanity with uncompromising ruthlessness they must look into the hearts of the Damned and confront the evils of the human soul for compassion binds Humanity to the Indescribable horrors of heresy and betrayal they must stand in the face of evil and overcome it each and every day the corrupt must perish or their poison will spread amongst the weak the inquisitors of the Inquisition are a rare and feared group of individuals that act as the Imperium secret police investigators trained extensively in the rooting out of heresy wherever it has begun to Fester conspiracies Cults false Creeds all hide themselves behind layers of petty crime local prejudices false rumors and a Labyrinthian network of plots and schemes constructed of well-crafted lies and deceit the inquisitors are the men and women dedicated to cutting through these layers of distraction to find the truth no matter how deeply buried it may be in order to properly protect the Imperium from its numerous enemies inquisitors are granted Supreme authorities seconded only by the god Emperor they are afforded access to anything they could possibly need to complete their missions subject only to the scrutiny of the Inquisition itself whether that be the funds of an entire world or the conscription of any of the armed forces that protect the Imperium and when it comes to completing their Divine Mission absolutely nothing will stand in their way so come with me today my friends as we take a deeper dive into the Inquisition and try to get to the bottom of what really makes an Inquisitor a radical or a Puritan but first a quick shout out to this video's sponsor today's video is sponsored by extra a super cool company that makes wallets bags and accessories designed to keep you organized and save you time their wallets are half the size of a conventional wallet while still being able to hold up to 12 cards as well as cash and these things are built to last they're made from environmentally friendly materials like vegan Italian leather and space rate aluminum but probably their most important feature is that they keep your cart safe from hackers and data thieves with their inbuilt RFID blocking protection and don't get me wrong safety is definitely super important but if I'm being honest with you my favorite teacher is down here there's this little button and with just a click gives you access to all your cards it honestly never gets old each of their wallets comes in multiple different colors and patterns and personally this nice brown color on the parliament wallet has been my personal favorite they've also got these awesome tracking devices for your wallet or for your keys which is great for me because and as much as I hate to admit it I'm definitely the type of person that loses my keys my wallet my phone everything every single day so as long as I've got one of them I can track down the others using their smartphone app the best thing about them is you can recharge them in the sun I've used other tracking systems like this before in the past and basically once the battery dies you just have to throw them away with these as soon as it gets low just Chuck it back out in the sun and two hours equals three months of charge time to celebrate Father's Day extras hooking my viewers up with some huge savings just click on the link in the description of this video or use code weshammer at checkout to save 35 off your order big thanks to extra for sponsoring this video Wednesday an interrogator first graduates into the role of an Inquisitor in their own right this unrestricted access to anything and everyone may prove to be a remarkable Boon making their work far easier but over time as the job becomes more demanding and they continue to face down the Eldritch horrors of the universe they may begin to justify using questionable means to accomplish their objectives these questionable methods can quickly begin to escalate in their intensity and all too often The Inquisitor blinded by their own success May begin to be pulled down a dark path this can result in three outcomes the first is that they repent their sins and better understand the foolishness of their actions taking vows to never suffer another Grievous lapse in judgment and cling even tighter to their sacred doctrines two they become corrupted by their heretical methods and go full-blown heretic or three instead resist the pole into damnation and instead only skirt its Edge and become what is known as a radical and ends justify the mean type of Inquisitor that is willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish their objectives even if it comes at the cost of their very Soul whereas Puritan inquisitors adhere strictly to dogma and seek to maintain the status quo of the Imperium recognizing full well the dangers of forbidden knowledge methods and artifacts the radical instead deliberately utilizes these forbidden resources seeking to wield the power of chaos and turn it against itself needless to say radicalism is a very slippery slope one in which The Inquisitor is constantly standing on the precipice of Eternal damnation few would Embrace such a path and many more would fear to follow them into Oblivion they choose to hold up their own Souls as sacrifice in exchange for the protection of the million worlds of the Imperium before we go any further let me make it very clear an Inquisitor does not choose to be a radical or a Puritan it's not a checkbox on their application and more realistically the vast majority of inquisitors find themselves somewhere between the two extremes it's better to think of radical Imperial as more of a spectrum and it's more often an inquisitor's peers that apply one of those labels to them based on their reputation during an inquisitor's career the course of their duties will inevitably lead them to making certain choices whether those choices be the result of careful planning or made in the spur of the moment every decision they make no matter how big or small will step by step cause an inquisitor's Outlook to begin to adapt whether that take the form of clinging more tightly to their sacred doctrines or to instead become disillusioned with the endless red tape placed between them and the resources they require it's important to remember that at the end of the day they aren't merciless unfeeling machines driven solely by Logic despite what the lore sections in a lot of Warhammer codexes or campaign books would tell you as The Inquisitor novels paint a more sympathetic picture of them they are human beings and though they have had extensive training and indoctrination to weed out the weaknesses that plague Humanity like empathy doubt and mercy they are still subject to them nonetheless this erosion a purpose can begin to trickle in through a lot of different places some small and some major mayhaps at one point in their career they made a small compromise that goes against their doctrines maybe they consulted a forbidden text that gave them insight into the Babbling of a condemned heretic or perhaps like the Puritan Inquisitor ravender mused over in the third book in his Trilogy an act of Mercy in refusing to kill a comatose teenage boy suspected of possession may have in fact been his first step towards radicalism inquisitors that find themselves in such a position to all those I mentioned before most of the time do not consider themselves to be a radical that title Bears a lot of weight and more often they view themselves simply as a realist a relativist or a seeker of truth that others ignorantly refuse to comprehend no matter what faction they're from ideology they adhere to or if they are on the path of a radical or Puritan all inquisitors believe that everything they do they do for the betterment and protection of humanity it is their God Emperor given right to use everything at their disposal to lay low the enemies of the Imperium the major difference being a Puritan recognizes why certain paths information and tools are expressly forbidden in the pursuit of their goals as they understand that their utilization does more damage than good whereas the radical believes that those restrictions were put in place out of fear and ignorance and through proper utilization and understanding tools and knowledge that have been forbidden can be used to combat the arch enemy despite the fact that an inquisitor's descent into radicalism will be peppered with smaller events that will most likely be noticed by his peers long before they begin to question their actions themselves without fail most inquisitors in this situation will at One Moment In Time see for the very first time the full importance of a single choice that needs to be made this is when they truly find themselves at the edge of the Abyss they will have to make a decision that there is no turning back from some of them may be afforded the luxury of time to consider the path they are about to take finding counsel with their followers or even with their own thoughts that may end up proving to be just as much of a burden as a blessing for the knowledge of what they are about to do will surely weigh heavily on their soul for other inquisitors this decision may have to be made in an instant with no further planning other than their immediate intuition this might happen in the heat of battle or when the enemy's plans are moments away from coming to fruition whatever form it takes The Inquisitor will have to act and take the first major step forward onto a path that can never be retraced this step may come in the form of showing Mercy to a captured partner of an Infamous heretic that has long evaded the inquisition's Pursuits maybe The Inquisitor will be able to discover an unknown underground cult by accessing an archive of forbidden knowledge or maybe in the case of Gregor eisenhorn releasing a previously bound demon to single-handedly destroy a chaos Titan the aftermath of such choices may be interpreted by the individual in different ways some may be horrified by what they have just done and seek to repent knowing full well that their actions will never be forgiven and this very well may be the end of their tale whereas others may feel a relieving sense of justification that the compromises they made were worth the cost it is these individuals those that would push further down the path of radicalism that know deep within their soul just how Grievous the error in their judgment truly was there are countless different factions within the Inquisition as they do not have a formal hierarchy or leadership every single individual that has been granted the rank of Inquisitor is free to pursue their mission in any way they see fit they are granted supreme authority and are authorized to requisition whatever they need to accomplish their objectives no matter the cost in resources or lives the Inquisition itself is made up of a Labyrinthian web of feudal power that is expressed through a convoluted network of fealty intrigue and responsibility very few inquisitors occupy any form of position or formal rank that places them above another there is no system of rank equivalent to what you would find in the Imperial military or the Space Marine chapters within the Inquisition Authority isn't instead generated by factors such as influence and reputation the more well-known and influential and Inquisitor happens to be the more likely they will be to win over other members and factions to their cause it should go without saying that younger inquisitors often hold far less influence than those who have been in service for a long time they understand that with age and experience comes a considerable amount of wisdom and thus the more extensive and individual inquisitor's career has been and the larger their pool of contacts has grown the more Authority they are perceived to have the rare exception to this is with what is known as an Inquisitor Lord a position one can only achieve by being nominated by another Inquisitor Lord and then having that nomination be approved by two others although their words are seen as sacrosanct by their peers the title of being an Inquisitor Lord is more of a formal recognition rather than an absolute rank they aren't given a sector of space to rule over and their Authority doesn't suddenly reach a rank beyond that of the absolute Authority they already have but within the Inquisition itself rapid is everything gaining such a prestigious title comes with it a considerable boost in influence giving them much greater sway when it comes to exerting their will within the organization as well as being given considerably more access to the inquisition's personal funds and resources although on paper they do not have any more power than any other Inquisitor their reputation and long list of allies is so great that to go against the will of an Inquisitor Lord is certainly to court disaster one who does such a thing May soon find themselves ostracized by former compatriots and Beyond the systems that support their operations having no form of central leadership and tons of smaller factions that make up such a massive organization may seem somewhat chaotic but the system is simultaneously the inquisition's greatest strength and biggest vulnerability no one would call a single faction's views ideology or philosophies the correct one except for maybe the inquisitorial agents that find themselves within that particular faction they all have their different strengths weaknesses and specializations and are all United in the common cause cause of the protection of mankind with the system the way it is the Inquisition is withholden to itself inquisitors answer to other inquisitors and no single Article of Faith Can rise to power and dominate all the rest this isn't to say that politicking and vying for power and influence behind the scenes doesn't occur as it certainly does the most defining system of organization within the Inquisition comes in the form of its holy ordos now these are broken up into two categories ordo's minorus and ordos Majoris each of the ordos has a different realm of specialization and while there are dozens of lesser ordos the three major ones that we commonly read about in the lore are Ordo hereticus that focuses on the study and persecution of Heretics Ordo xenos that focuses on alien threats and Ordo malleus that specializes in the understanding and eradication of demonic activity the factions that make up the Inquisition and thus the inquisitors within those factions are broadly categorized into these ordos and although inquisitors are free to move between the ordos as they see fit most will have a particular tied to one of them however outside of the ordos there are dozens if not hundreds of different factions within the Inquisition that have risen to prominence or become extinct with the passing of their members some of these factions have maintained for Generations all of the group's memories records and teachings passing from one inquisitorial agent to another as new recruits are brought in only the greatest of these factions have endured the test of time and many hold Sway in the hearts and minds of inquisitors and their acolytes across the entirety of the Imperium these factions are often structured around a particular school of thought philosophy or teaching set in place by a highly respected Inquisitor a long time ago they are not the same as the ordos and a faction can be made up of inquisitors and inquisitorial Agents from any of the ordos the thing that binds them together into a faction is that all of the members share a common belief system derived from a very specific interpretation of The Emperor's will due to the nature of many of these belief systems the factions are often categorized as either radical or Puritan whereas the ordos themselves are neutral it's unfortunately quite common that when a action is formed they might scorn or outright reject the teachings of another faction so concrete are their views of the universe that anything that conflicts with their teachings is dismissed as dangerous or in some cases even heretical to get a better understanding of this let's examine a handful of these factions on Extreme opposite ends of the spectrum on the radical side we have the plutonians the istvanians and the horizians the plutonians had the radical idea that the deliberate possession of individuals by demonic entities could in turn produce Elite demon Hunters they experimented on this in secret but most of their attempts were met with failure as no mortal alive had the spiritual endurance to withstand the corrupting Touch of a demon invading their body and soul when they caught wind of how the chapter master of The Exorcist managed to banish a greater demon that had come to possess him they told him of their research and seeing how the exorcists had a much greater spiritual resilience to corruption than any other chapter they determined that they would be the perfect candidates for such rituals The Exorcist chapter Master agreed and they now work closely together the chapter intentionally allowing its recruits to become possessed by a demon during their training if the individual is able to successfully banish the demon they will emerge not only stronger and with more insight into the enemy but seemingly also immune to corruption in all its forms these individuals will be admitted into the chapter were as those who fail to banish the demon will also find themselves serving them in a different way as living jail cells for captured demons the herusians on the other hand feel like War Master Horus may have actually had some pretty good ideas it was just unfortunate that it was the war master who had them they believe that if the power of the warp can be properly researched and understood it can be funneled into a new god-like figurehead that will lead the Imperium into a new golden age an age where all of Humanity's problems are solved and any enemy that would dare stand before them will be swiftly and completely eradicated there is also the inquisitorial school of thought known as istfonism that teaches that the horrors of the drop site Massacre one of the biggest acts of betrayal and Slaughter ever inflicted against the Space Marine Legions was ultimately a necessity that the Imperium is dependent on never-ending War to continue to exist if it was to ever experience peacetime the great Imperial War Machine that keeps every Cog in its great machine spinning would grind to a screeching halt and lead to the complete collapse of human society as we know it the inquisitors that follow this school of thought do everything they can to continuously stoke the fires of conflict and hatred as well as instigate Discord amongst mankind constantly starting Wars leading invasions and stirring discontent into Rebellion it's important to remember that extremism is not something that is unique to radicals as the Puritans are capable of doing this as well take for example the mono dominance who are known for their uncompromising prosecution of perceived enemies of mankind they are holy zealots of the god Emperor and believe not just that the Galaxy is Humanity's Birthright but also that only the Imperium should be allowed to exist they believe completely in the concept of manifest destiny and that this is only achievable through the extermination of every threat in impurity aliens Heretics witches and mutants have all committed the sin of existence and thus must be eradicated without mercy so tyrannical are their views that even when it comes to Imperial citizens acts of Civil Disobedience whether they take the form of crime rioting or even refusing commands are all sins punishable by death through the purging of undesirables from the Galaxy natural selection will be allowed to take its course and Humanity will rise to the ultimate position of power they are seen as the most militant of all inquisitors and are Infamous for utilizing exterminatus more than any other faction they refuse to move in secret and these guys want to be seen and they want to use their authority to stoke the Flames of hatred in the hearts of men leading mobs of frenzied citizens to purge the ranks of all they deem impure this is all pretty horrible and although rightfully condemned by other fact actions within the Inquisition both on the Puritan and radical ends of the spectrum they are without a doubt Puritan as their uncompromising nature means that the idea of ever allying with a demon heretic or even someone that has been only the tiniest bit warp touched is ultimately Unthinkable to them the almathians on the other hand are the largest inquisitorial faction and perhaps the oldest as well and they believe in maintaining the status quo above everything else that the emperor has a plan known only to him and by maintaining the path the Imperium is currently on his will will continue to unfold all around them their ultimate goal is to maintain the law and governance that currently exist above all other considerations and they seek to abolish the systems within the Inquisition that allow for all of the different factions to continue to exist everything must be 100 percent United and dedicated to maintaining the Inquisition and the Imperium exactly the way it is progress and change are as anathema to them as is regression they wish to calm any volatile situations that arise and prevent rapid change at all cost despite the fact that by all accounts the Imperium is crumbling all around them and its people continuing to suffer to them this is all part of The Emperor's divine plan the thorians on the other hand believe in the concept of the emperor incarnate that his Divine will can manifest in the hearts and souls of profoundly devout individuals and Elevate them into a state resembling his physical Avatar that will appear in the most dire of circumstances to Vanquish the enemies of mankind they are devout followers of Sebastian Thor the ecclesiarc that ended up taking over after gosh vandyer's reign of blood came to an end they believe that Thor was a clear example of a fraction of The Emperor's power manifesting in one of his followers and that every saint that has ever been documented so too contained a sliver of his enormous power they have dedicated enormous amounts of resources into holy rituals designed to create bodies capable of containing even more of the emperor's power although to this day none of their attempts have been successful so they instead also scour the Galaxy and search for what they refer to as Divine avatars people who have been touched by the emperor at one point or another and may so too be blessed once more it's important to note that out of all the groups we just talked about they are all viewed with scrutiny and fear Puritan and radical is not a spectrum of Good and Evil it is a difference in philosophy and most other factions within the Inquisition fall somewhere between these extreme examples just like how these factions are broadly lumped together into either being Puritan or radical so too are the inquisitors lumped into these same categories and although both Puritans and radicals pursue the best interests of mankind to the best of their abilities both of these groups go about it in fundamentally different ways for the Puritan the overall goal of the Inquisition and the way in which they go about executing it is 100 by the book thus they are unsullied by the sin of Doubt to a Puritan Shades of Gray do not exist the universe is black and white despite what the Unfaithful would have you believe there there is right and wrong good and evil enemy and Ally believer and heretic most newly recruited inquisitors follow the Puritan path and their youth in an experience instills in them a remarkable ability a righteous Zeal that dispels all shadows and casts everything they encounter in absolute terms on the other side of the coin we have those that walk the path of the radical individuals who do not view things so absolutely men and women who recognize the importance of the aforementioned Shades of Gray that exist between right and wrong inquisitors live for a very long time and having unlimited access to any resources they could possibly desire also gives them access to the best rejuvenant treatments that can be found throughout the Imperium inquisitors can find themselves in service for multiple centuries and in that amount of time it's not uncommon for the righteous Zeal of Youth to slowly begin to erode that to illuminate the recesses of the universe one cannot simply cast out the Shadows but instead must seek to understand what truly resides Within in them time and time again they will come face to face with what truly festers within the souls of men what Horrors multiply in the Dark Places between stars and what watches Humanity with malevolent sentience just beyond the edge of perception they will witness these Horrors and be touched by them their absolute teachings that they once held is infallible and the optimism and blind Zeal of Youth constantly crumbling bit by bit as their resolve is continuously tested when this occurs The Inquisitor will come to a horrible realization that to defeat the evil that besets Humanity one must embrace it they must use them they must turn the enemy itself into a tool of their own destruction by any means necessary inquisitors both Puritan and radical are not wholly withholden to their faction and will oftentimes work together with inquisitors or at least inquisitorial Agents from different factions in such instances their differences in philosophy sometimes prove to be a boon to their mission as both bring to the table different specializations were as other times if if their beliefs are antithetical to one another and the tension between the two can reach a boiling point this may take the form of them both viewing each other as a hated rival or in more extreme circumstances the spilling of blood open hostilities between members of the Inquisition is strictly forbidden thus this very rarely comes in the form of inquisitors going against one another the Dirty Work is left to the acolytes that work beneath them there are many tales of two rival inquisitors sharing a cordial meal with one another at a stately dinner or acting as respected colleagues within a high conclave all well behind the scenes those that work for them are waging an unseen bloody war this isn't to say that disagreements between inquisitors has never spilled into all-out war between factions as it certainly has in the past and considering that inquisitors are given supreme authority to requisition any resources they need or can script entire armies into their service these feuds can develop into sector-wide Wars other inquisitors that catch wind of such a gross misuse of inquisitorial power May deploy a kill cell to eliminate one or both of these individuals but if they end up catching wind of what is going on the result could be a war not easily won by either side to get a better understanding of the differing mindsets between Puritans and radicals we're going to spend the next half of this video examining how they each view certain resources and methods that are available to them such as heretical texts criminals aliens weaponry and demonic entities and we'll start with possibly the most powerful of all weapons knowledge although the roots of the Inquisition can trace themselves back to the Horus heresy it is generally accepted that it's solidified into its modern form somewhere in the middle of the 32nd Millennium making the modern Inquisition almost 10 000 years old in that time they have managed to gather a great many texts that have been deemed heretical and too dangerous to exist such works are routinely burned and any individual that has happened to read them is executed there however are also many other heretical texts that albeit clearly Blasphemous and nature are deemed of potential use to the Inquisition and thus are locked away in their archive volts that exist deep within their fortresses throughout the Imperium a very few trusted people are permitted access to such areas and any attempt to bypass the vault's defenses by an unauthorized knowledge Seeker will be met with swift obliteration the secrets contained within these vaults is considered so dangerous that the archivist staff that work here are either frequently mind wiped or fitted with Arcane Soul wards that are implanted within their bodies if these devices detect any trace of the warp they will detonate emulating not only the individual but potentially the entire Library as well this is to ensure that not a single trace of this knowledge is ever allowed to escape some of the works that have been stored within the vaults throughout the ages may have been written by the inquisition's own agents or more commonly by their enemies they may have been pinned by long extinct xenos races or even by our ancestors within ancient Terra the information contained within them may chart the rise and fall of countless Empires across the Stars the heretical ramblings of those who peered too deeply into the warp or in some cases May describe modes of thought entirely foreign to the Imperial truth some of the ones from ancient Terror for example a spouse perilous Blasphemous and outright ridiculous philosophies such as freedom from the interference of the state by far the most dangerous of these texts are those that catalog and describe the malignant entities that dwell within the immaterium naming them and imparting the rituals by which they may be summoned now these texts radiate fell power and Whisper vile untruths to those who would peer upon their Pages as if the text itself is possessed by a malefic intelligence to even be in the vicinity of such a book is to risk damnation it's important to know that merely Consulting these ancient tomes is not necessarily enough for an Inquisitor to be deemed a radical as even Puritan inquisitors may need to access them from time to time more so it is how The Inquisitor intends to use whatever knowledge they gain how however there is a Fail-Safe that is put in place for this the scrutiny of what is known as an archives gatekeeper although not an Inquisitor themselves these individuals hold a unique position within the Inquisition and wield the ultimate power to allow and disallow access to the archive this is one of the rare examples of somebody being able to say no to an Inquisitor the gatekeeper's decisions are seen as law by the Inquisition and thus through the gatekeeper's righteous scrutiny the Inquisition is protected from itself and its Secrets kept safe from those who would use them against mankind if the gatekeeper doesn't believe The Inquisitor or suspects ulterior motives they will deny them access and to go against such a decision is tantamount to treason when it comes to the inquisition's enemies few criminals taken to their dungeons are ever seen again whether innocent or guilty before Justice can be delivered any who have been captured are thoroughly interrogated by an entire group of Agents specifically dedicated to the task fun fact most inquisitors actually begin their careers as interrogators before eventually graduating to receive an inquisitorial rosette of their own these individuals are incredibly skilled at the extraction of information and through their efforts are many more enemies of mankind located and apprehended the Puritan views such practices as a necessity for the good of humanity and that the relationship between prisoner and interrogator is an inflexible one despite how good said criminal may be at bargaining and negotiating Puritan inquisitors are experienced in such manners and would rarely entertain the desperate pleas of The Condemned however when it comes to the radicals an Inquisitor may allow themselves to enter into such a bargain affording the accused degree of leniency in return for further information in more extreme examples some radicals have found themselves in outright alliance with criminals this may have come about during one of their investigations where The Inquisitor ended up working undercover within a criminal organization and after spending enough time with them found common cause eventually find finding themselves preferring the company of these criminals over inquisitorial agents The Condemned of humanity is one thing but when it comes to aliens the Imperial Creed teaches Humanity that the Galaxy is their Birthright and that they are the superior life form all xenos are beneath them despite the fact that this is something preached by just about every church across the imperium's million worlds in one form or another it's important to understand just how enormous the Imperium actually is there are numerous vast stretches of wilderness space that separate entire sectors and within these areas that have not been illuminated By the Light of the emperor many different alien empires have been able to flourish the everyday citizen of the imperium's view on xenos will change based on where they find themselves in the galaxy in more populated areas that are stringently controlled every Xeno species is seen as anathema most of the people who live in these areas have been taught from birth that aliens are to be despised although rare there are instances where a Xeno species although hated will be momentarily tolerated the most prominent example of this being that of the Eldar with whom the imperium's highest officials will treat and negotiate with when circumstances dictate however in the frontier worlds where there is much less Imperial oversight as some human societies have allowed xenos to freely move throughout their populations examples of this can vary greatly on the Lesser end of the spectrum we have a good example from the second book in the ravener trilogy where we see a space station known as Bonner's reach out in Lucky space that famously serves as a meeting place for rogue Traders and bounty hunters on this station xenos and humans stand shoulder to shoulder eldari and human beings being the ones most prominently featured whereas many of the Rogue Traders here have taken to hiring crude mercenaries as bodyguards on the other end of the spectrum we have the first commissar Kane book hero of the Imperium where we see what happens when an entire human population integrates with Tau Society the humans shaving their heads and painting their faces blue and fully assimilating into their culture it is expected that over the course of their careers inquisitors will end up coming into contact with aliens under most circumstances these encounters will be brief and bloody but sometimes both types of inquisitors may find themselves in a momentary alliance with members of a Xeno species if a greater threat has presented itself Puritans may see the value in such treaties though they maintain that after the perceived threat is eliminated their new allies will return to being the hated enemy whereas radicals may go out of their way to seek out the alien in order to gain further insight into their particular talents and Technology much like how a radical may end up viewing criminals they may also find themselves more aligned with the beliefs and Creeds of an alien as opposed to the doctrines of the Inquisition in the process straying further and further away from humanity and courting censure or Worse within the inquisition's armories are a plethora of different weapons that they use to combat the enemies of mankind as some are mundane While others are far more rare and exotic there are power swords and force weapons and countless examples of Weaponry manufacture not only by man but other species as well wielding a weapon of alien design is certainly a crime for the common citizenry but not so much for one with the authority of an Inquisitor a good example are the digital weapons manufactured by the jokero they pack an enormously powerful punch in a very small package oftentimes taking the form of a ring however even amongst these more exotic weapons there are relics considered to be too dangerous to be carried openly even by an Inquisitor these include weapons made by alien species that were deemed so threatening to Mankind's continued existence that they launched an all-out crusade to completely eradicate them or at least are in the process of doing so even more terrifying are chaotic weapons as each one Bears the soul of a demonic entity even if an Inquisitor deems the use of such an abhorrent creation necessary they would never carry it openly as doing such would bring about immediate censure from their peers these horrific blades demand a terrible price for their use feeding on The Souls of all those they slay or if none are available the wielder of the weapon themself a Puritan Inquisitor would never even consider using a weapon like this and they understand the risks far outweigh any boost in power they may obtain by wielding it and that to frivolously allow the requisition of such relics from their armories we'll see the Inquisition descend down a slippery slope into damnation radicals on the other hand do not think this way power in all its forms can be harnessed for the good of mankind and if properly understood in many instances the necessary power needed to complete a mission of critical importance can only be obtained by disobeying the dictates of narrow constraining Dogma working together with criminals and Aliens is one thing certainly a sin but depending on the circumstances someone accused of such things may get off lightly however of all the crimes an Inquisitor could possibly commit the summoning of a demon is by far the most Grievous in the eyes of the Inquisition the forces of the ruinous powers are by far the most hated enemy of mankind the mere notion that anything of value could possibly be gained through communion with a demon is anathema to the puritanical Inquisitor a radical on the other hand may come to the realization that in order to better combat them they may seek knowledge that only a being from the immaterium would have this often takes the form of a demon being utilized as a tool wherein The Inquisitor seeks to use the Demon's own language against it through the speaking of its true name The Inquisitor is able to entrap and bind it to their service the most horrific way this can be done is through the deliberate possession of a living victim accomplished by way of forbidden ritual that forms what is known as a demon Host this is what Gregor eisenhorn did shortly after the demon he allowed to escape and came back for vengeance he ended up being able to seal it away once again by binding it inside of another Inquisitor the creation of a demon host not only kills the individual it is bound to but completely eradicates their soul to knowingly do this to another person let alone a fellow member of the Inquisition is an unforgivable heresy the demon host is an entity a barely contained power that radiates malevolence and utters unending streams of blasphemy fight the Unholy nature of such an Abomination a demon host can prove to be an invaluable asset to a radical Inquisitor as in between the lies and profanity that the entity spouts can be found certain truths known only to those that dwell within the warp by divining these truths the Demon's power can be used against it and its fell Masters demonos can also be used as a potent weapon in combat as well if able to be controlled but doing so places not just The Inquisitor but everyone around them at considerable risk despite the benefits that inquisitors may believe they gain from such an Unholy act any who would even attempt such a terrible ritual will receive nothing but condemnation from their peers if what they have done is ever discovered the absolute best they can hope for is to be excommunicated however the punishment for such a sin will almost certainly be death or far worse thus radicals who have gone this far will either keep all knowledge of their deeds secret or end up turning Rogue at the end of all of this it's important to remember that the Creed of every Inquisitor whether Puritan or radical is to do everything in their power to uphold the will of the god Emperor and keep the Imperium from collapsing although they are rightfully feared by the common population of man it is without question that an Inquisitor Bears a great and terrible burden it is their divine right to absolve or condemn and millions or in some cases billions of lives hinge upon the decisions that only they have the power to make whether their methods are derived from rigid adherence to Doctrine and
