Everything GREAT About Titanfall 2!

[Music] of all the things i've seen on the battlefields of the frontier the pilot is the true dominant force i never played titanfall 1 and it didn't have a campaign so most of its lore was exposed to the multiplayer but this opening is a great way to show the difference between a rifleman and a pilot last tomosa is a badass throughout this entire opening scene [Music] we get to see how well lastimosa and bt work together and i love seeing these rendered cinematics of the titans putting the beat down on each other frontier has been the only home i've ever known our lands have been destroyed by the imc despite recent victories at demeter and beyond i like how cooper talks to us as if we already know these names and what's going on we don't really need to know too much here are your cliff notes now let's get to bt harmony is gorgeous i wish it were real like on earth i know it already exists and this is just a simulation lastomosa's pilot gauntlet might give captain price's cqc test to run for its money homegrown militia technology first titan chassis we designed ourselves i enjoyed the detail that bt is one of the first of the militia's own original titans makes him feel more i don't know human closer to us like he's really our buddy nice little match fade to cooper doing uh lame titanfall to the planet respawn does a great job making you feel like a basic rifleman was open having no hug getting put on your ass by the titanfall and having last mimosa bail you out take care of him he's talking to cooper but this very well could have been directed at bt i like that the hud is diegetic in the story using their helmets to display everything power low insufficient power bt is a super buttery voice that i loved listening to throughout respawn did not hold back when it came to creating their levels they have double jumps and wall runs and they damn well use them voice pattern analysis indicates they are lying bt would make a great detective he was an excellent pilot and a good friend first little hint to our titans being more than just mechs as a means to an end [Music] nice little moment of cooper having to collect himself before embarking remember he hasn't even done this in the simulations neurolink established cue pacific red music sure about this yes trust me trust bt that's a nice recurring motif within the story i think somebody's in love a human's concept of love requires admiration attraction devotion and respect conclusion i am 50 in love love love even your robot buddy could love missing me already i was not shooting at you that would be in violation of protocol 3. bt and drags would make for great friends the assembly level is another great job in the response part really putting to use their movement system it was so much fun climbing around here you okay i'm undamaged however i do not believe this is a food processing plant i think they might want to send titans to a grade school english class this dome technology makes some very visually interesting pranks i'm not talking about the fake simulation i'm talking about when it breaks and you have the juxtaposition pilot i have concluded we should take no further shortcuts learning from your mistakes even a computer robot can make them don't get captured again bt i will avoid all shortcuts good idea i hope that doesn't happen to me your mind sugar coating lucky you i detect sarcasm again we got sherlock on the case objective complete we have rendezvoused with major anderson even though it's a little messed up it's really funny maybe next time you can throw me no dude oh cooper you don't understand what kind of can you just open so throw shadowing i've only ever played one other game with this time travel effect but it is so cool i don't know what it takes to make missions like this possible but i really hope one day we can get a whole game based around the concept and the level design between the two levels having to constantly switch back and forth navigate hands down my favorite level in the game and to stand out among them hey look the man anderson killed is right here this time warp malfunction is super pretty captain what is the status of the beacon the power is shut down interesting detail that the men looked bt for orders before cooper seems they'd know he was just a rifleman before hopping in bt another great job at level design i know i've said it so many times but it feels really good jumping around anytime bt throws cooper is always a blast [Music] neat little reactions coming from the men when establishing contact with briggs understood we'll get you transferred to a fully qualified pilot objection cooper is my pilot standing up for your rifleman buddy standby for titanfall god it always sounds badass when someone says titanfall so sad this game didn't explode this assault is just a titan fighting gauntlet and that is a-okay because it is awesome smashing through the waves of titans crashing upon flying tight cool this is a fun set piece being tossed around and falling through the air so much fun just like before not exactly inspiring confidence the 6'4 completely show us what's good when it comes to a pilot's ability on the battlefield viper's on station your journey ends here pilot i like the voice used for viper he's an airborne titan and it sounds like the voice you'd hear fighter pilots today or at least what entertainment has painted them to sound like having two titans duke it out while you're disembarked is terrifyingly awesome also bt does a great job defending himself from a pilot of titan what are you doing protocol 3 i will not lose another pilot self-sacrifice all right titan you're going to open up and give me what i want oh thank god bt is alive i really hope he doesn't die again cameras don't really work like this having blisk and bt in focus but it's kind of neat games don't have to adhere to camera's limitations and it's always fun to see stuff like this yes i know there's a way to make a camera do this but it's not common one there's our payout for all the trust me self-sacrifice again even if he's probably gonna die anyway the sear kit is awesome and super powerful i don't know why not everyone uses these but either way this escape set piece is a lot of fun i'm saying extremely heavy around the world tenfold two is fun new chassis same titan old paint same data core bt always the literal man yeah you wouldn't decide apex legends shadowing protocol 3 protect the pilot what are you doing trust me so sacrifice things come in threes i guess also briggs in the 6-4 risk their lives just for cooper bt lives here's another short one for you this week i heard that titanfall 2's campaign was surprisingly good given that the original titanfall didn't even have a campaign and sure maybe it was response to the community's reaction to no campaign in the first game but i like their reasoning for not doing one in the first outing respawn stated that and i'm paraphrasing we would have spent too many resources on these missions just for the player to run through in 8 minutes and when their main focus is the multiplayer it makes complete sense from a production standpoint and they're right titanfall 2 only took me 3 hours to beat and i know this video is about titanfall 2 but i wanted to mention that because even though i blasted through it in 3 hours i really had a lot of fun and sure it takes resources to develop the single player campaigns but they are 100 worth it and i'm glad they realized that with this second game and continued to realize that with the creation of jedi fallen order they didn't just phone it in either yes it's short as hell but it's fun as hell and our two leads are super cute and funny together it's no surprise that this campaign is good because this came from the guys that made modern warfare 1 and 2's campaign respawn entertainment is made from a group that broke off from infinity award but enough of the history lesson how's the game the game is really fun something i want to mention is i recommend playing this game on easy you really get the feeling that you are the strong unstoppable pilot and it's really enjoyable anyway the movement feels fluid and the gun and titan play are tight and responsive when you enter a titan it doesn't feel like you're losing something to be them playing as both pilot and titan is super enjoyable and then there's the level design sadly the level design for the titan portions aren't as inspired as the pilot ones and it's pretty obvious as to why but i would have preferred more interesting levels within the titan section but what we get in those sections is still pretty great especially triad by fire where it's non-stop titan on titan action but i think you all already know the gameplay is pretty great if you played any of titanfall 1 and i want to mention again how much i freaking loved the time travel mission god it is so much fun hopping between the two times respawn did a brilliant job developing the level you're never worried about hopping back into a wall or any debris it's super smooth and a great design anyway how's the story well any of the lord of the rings movies are longer but that doesn't matter it's a quick fun romp through varying levels that are super fun the relationship between cooper and bt is the highlight here and i wouldn't feel bad to say just bt is the highlight it sometimes feel that cooper is the straight man for bt to play off of and that's totally fine because bt is such a funny well-written character and hey they got me getting goosebumps and almost tearing up in bt hugged cooper to protect him in the ark and if you can make that happen in under three hours i would say you're doing something right it's a short and sweet story about destroying a death star type weapon before the bad guys can use it but there is enough character in there to make it feel that it's not just a checklist game you know what i mean go here do that kill him escape here i mean it is but bt's got jokes so it all evens out i've been trying to think of any greater themes within the game the main one to me is trust bt doesn't make it a very subtle one with his constant trust me's but there are other times in the game such as lastimosa handing bt over to cooper bt standing up for cooper and briggs trusting bt's judgment and general martyr having the trust put in the apex predator is broken it's a simple theme that isn't life-changingly huge or at the forefront of the game very often but it's there and i appreciate that because through it we get moments like this and hey i think we can all agree that that was a pretty awesome moment sure i'm a little sad that there are no plans for a titanfall 3 as i would love another romp with bt and cooper but i'm still really happy with what we got [Music] do [Music] [Music] you
