Everything GREAT About Halo Infinite!

[Music] halo infinite wastes no time jumping us into the action taking humanity's greatest achievement and ripping it up like tissue paper i gotta say that i love that 343 seem to have listened to fan feedback and somewhat scaled back jon's armor to be more in line with what we know and love more green and less scary along with that giving us back our sexy reach ar 343 so proud of their grapple they had to put it in a cutscene first thing chief loses sometimes but normally it's because of some super crazy alien stuff like the grey mind or i guess the didact but having a more grounded enemy wipe the floor with chiefs such as atriox is a great way to open a new antagonist which makes me wonder why the hell that just killed him off screen if you notice a common theme among cutscenes and infinite you'll notice they rarely ever cut and if you know me you know i love some wanners so i miss you and i love you everyday spending this camera around is super heartwarming scene is such a cool way to show the passage of time i'm so tired of lazy title cards you can't tell me the first time you heard that piano strike you didn't get goosebumps i've only been playing halo for less than a year and i was hyped as hell for this and some continuity with chief scrapple still being out yes yes i really like esparza we haven't really seen a character like this in a halo game just a happy little goofball follow the light if there's anything that's been enduring of the halo franchise it's this goddamn fall of the light business i don't know if it's just a meme at this point or what you know i love me some center framing i need a weapon what are you gonna do improvise close the door i think it's the super monotone delivery that makes me find that so funny so i see notice how sensitive chief is with this deceased unsc soldier versus the covenant we could be the only two humans left alive out here then there's still hope gotta love that unwavering optimism of chief the real best reason that the grapple exists though these aren't cutting edge graphics like god of war the last of us infinite looks fantastic while still keeping a good spirits with the halo feel requires a hack okay and you can do that no yes cortana's always been the brains and chief's always been the one to use force to fix situations so naturally we get this and also the comedic timing of that punch and no something better the entire halo fan base where i realized there was going to be no lock and infinite destroy this craft if you must it matters not i do enjoy ashram and infinite we haven't had a brute be an antagonist since tartarus and two who arguably helped make that story as great as it was with 343 adding the grapple they were able to completely change the way the design levels really able to open up the play environments for crazy things like this to happen i was so confused when this happened and i would make a joke about being bad at seeing the camo shimmer and always getting clapped by a multiplayer but they took it away completely which is annoying but still makes for a cool scene not the project so if this is a tease for new profits coming in i'm all for it i will always get a kick out of regular last humans trying to move these behemoths we do our duty protect humanity whatever the cost a little halo 4 callback for you the rogue ai known as cortana is gone she's been deleted 343 basically just said let's completely scrap halo 4 and 5 to start over and to the credit that was probably the right call on successful deployment my deletion routine was supposed to complete still here now i really love the weapon and for the purposes of this video i was referring to her as cortina as we decided to call her that during the halo infinite stream cortina is freaking awesome i love that she's a newer ai so that comes with this cute quirky innocence and tomfoolery that cortana had a bit of but there's definitely an age gap between them making that impossible and if you didn't believe me about latina being younger that direction of her bouncing on her tiptoes for a second is 100 trying to play that angle up of course they had us insert the chip they know our relationship with cortana is just as deep as chiefs is with her and cortana was writing for they'll pay you with another cortana model [Music] what it's just pieces of data cycling until they run out of power today i was called an emotionless atonement jen taylor is amazing at what she does she has to play three of the same character with the same voice and have such a nuanced performance to really show the differences between them halsey's more old and cynical cortana wise and to business cortina somewhat naive and having a lot more fun and she does all of this with her voice you smell fine by the way flirty 343 wised up and realized having chief take the chip out of his head a million times during the game was just too slow now he can pop her up in his hand like she's a star wars hologram and speaking of 343 rising up in machurian cortina is clothed just like cortana was in five but still thicker than a bowl of oatmeal but you know what i mean purple cotsana i love the little human things they add to cortanas her little breath before doing this with the cluster isn't needed at all but it really helps us connect with her more chief mourning and having the utmost respect for all members of the unsc will never get old always nice to be reminded the only man from four was wrong on his assessment of chief being broken at his core this is just the first but i don't think grunts have ever been better in a halo game that scream is so over the top and ridiculous i love it so many of the little loading screen tips are lovely references to past halo games but also some good pop culture ones like the general grievous one about fine editions and young scrappy and hungry from hamilton why so cynical why so serious done and thus begins cortina's constant snapping hi god i love cortina she's so adorable and i love that everyone is still carrying in fear of cortana since you know she kind of took over the whole galaxy oh baby you know i can't let that thing go by without a win and what better way to usher in the open world than with that track halsey only tells people what they need to know which explains why chief won't tell cortina what cortana did now the open world is really everyone's choice to decide whether they like it or not some will argue it's better to have scripted spectacle and missions that are carefully designed others will say that the halo sandbox is ripe for an open world and has never been better and i agree with both i personally don't care for the open world as i don't really play games past their stories but i know there will be people relishing in the world and getting lost in there for hours in open world this is something that halo has really done before so why not try something new this is the halo for the next 10 years so i'm sure we can expect some story expansions with more interesting missions than the main game had it offered that's neat the little way she hopped off chief's hand his reputation is not good neither is mine well okay 343 didn't throw out everything that was in halo 5. nice little call back to him being at odds in a halo 5. man i miss having actual covenant characters i know arbiter was in five but like it's five so i'm gonna take what i can get here i see him man even in the story they're constantly keeping the slow wind up of the grab hammer consistent modified by who well we see why chief's the master warrior doesn't he mean by whom the lighting in these tunnels is gorgeous that is all i think it's moments like these that the open world is made for this line with the scared animation with the comedic overkill of the hammer is what it's all for making our own memorable moments instead of all sharing the same ones a monitor they didn't have to no other halo game has done it before but a lot of guns you have equipped will appear in the cutscene finally it's like 343 can't not put arrows in their 4runner structures the seal must not be broken despondent pyre understands a good night of drinking what could be worse than the flood nothing good man i was getting tired of the flood after three but now i really miss him you never knew what you had till it's gone i could feel what she felt when you arrived it was joy fear and pain man that kind of makes me sad even though she was doing all this she still loved him we've got a score to settle or a fight to finish i'm not gonna front infinite has some inspired camera work here and there it's like the cameraman is having to move through these pillars while being moved by some of the others the camera is a beautiful language all of its own and we've all somewhat come to understand it i really really enjoyed that a lot of the designs have been paired back to some of the more original styles just like with chief instead of trying to make everything more realistic and gritty let us have our goofy little koopa looking hunters these guys look ridiculous and i love it which leads me to talk about the number one goal 343 had with infinite and that was to pair everything back and rediscover what makes halo halo and to me they have done a great job of modernizing the title while making it feel like what we want there's no crazy complicated plot with scenes of exposition that make no sense just a simple story with a small cast and of course the best halo gameplay i've ever seen and i don't think i'm alone in that assessment with how perfect this hunter flew up i thought it was totally meant to happen surprised me when hopping on the halo subreddit seeing everyone laugh at the weird things that got caught in their gravity lift wow this place is exactly what you'd expect for the cynical among us we could say yeah of course all these foreign instructors just copy and pasted but for people like us we could say that cortina is still so full of life and amazed easily by newish things welcome welcome oh hello why do monitors always have more personality than chief does one that was kind of sexy and two correct me if i'm mistaken but cortina would have been fine to take that shot no imperial form after all so chief protecting her is even more sweet as it's just instinct for him at this point halo never really does boss fights very well as his gameplay lends to its large-scale battle sandbox better but infinite makes a concerted effort to have some interesting ones and i can say that i actually really enjoyed them especially the monitor ones it's not groundbreaking the slightest but having to aim at these little light bits is a nice change of pace give me one second to get it now it's done why don't you trust me what was that that's kind of heartbreaking but like any good story we don't have time to unpack that right now we have a fight to break up this thread for later chief is the definition of falling with style is everyone trying to kill you it kind of seems like it oh wait you're being sarcastic he's [Music] what's the best edition of halo infinite why is it the grunt propaganda towers ooh that camera shake with chief touches down we all fail we all make mistakes it's what makes us human now that right there had me crying when i first heard it coming from someone else i probably wouldn't have cared but it's coming from chief the man who failed cortana the man who had a small arc about if he's still really human in there it's really beautiful and up there among the best scenes in this game if one of 343's goals was to humanize chief i'd say they did a great job in infinite making him talk more won't humanize him but what he says is important this is all i've got and like i mentioned earlier this is a great tiny cast this is all we got keeping the story so intimate while having this open world makes for some wonderful juxtaposition and by keeping the cast small we really get to focus on them and these moments are elevated more and more because of it and i'll take these human moments 10 times over some transformers sith lord using force choke talking about it being his responsibility to save the world from itself it's remarkably vulnerable but highly intelligent is it a weakness something to exploit hearing this monkey boy talk like this really shows the separation put himself in the harbinger his mind is dull and simple but she's playing the longer game are you okay this question felt like whiplash i was not expecting or ready for chief to be pressed like this and i never knew it's something i wanted to know scarlet witch might have something to say about those hand movements are you okay checking on your waifu i'm not sure if she counts yet i just felt like someone was i don't know watching me well us gamers aren't very coy about where our eyes like to linger sorry cortina i've got you oh my heart that was so cute if i told you what i oh i get it sarcasm you're funny too cortina and jax would probably get along greatly i haven't really seen a chasm like this since comet evolved like it really reminds me of that first bridge we had to turn on in ce but i kind of lied because it's a lot like the bridge arbiter rides it too like i mentioned bringing everything back to basics you know i'm kind of honestly impressed that they are still getting mileage out of the chief cortana relationship after five games you think it's run its course and it almost did they'll infinite breathe new life into it if they capture her they will learn everything hearing keys is like hearing your father after years of being gone getting milk i don't know how you keep doing this i don't have a choice maybe it's my programming how cool would a halo game centered around chief trying to retire be finally figuring out what he truly wants beyond protecting cortana and humanity but the end of this game is less so open-ended that they could totally go that route but we'll just have to cross our fingers and hope i'll take care of you okay then to her that is heartwarming reassuring but in this moment take care of means figuratively taking care of her samuel you said so samuel zero three four was among the first of the spartan twos along with jon i believe the significance behind him being the deletion password is that he was the first spartan to ever be killed but through his death made john relentless in protecting fellow spartans and made him believe humanity could win against the couple sam also saved his life in exchange for his so john owes him a lot and honors him with his name being the password that will safeguard humanity if things go wrong with cortina red flag zero three four three chiefs not [ __ ] around this time he doesn't even hesitate for a second to start the deletion process if anything has hollowed him out more than he already was it was definitely losing cortana the first time around take care of it cartina is coming back like psych there's your grav lift let's get this over with it's a little easy to stomach since she's an ai could you imagine if she was flesh and blood and she just failed to kill her that'd be a much more awkward situation than the one we already have the reformation is being focused on a specific area called the silent auditorium why does everything in a halo have to be silent i love that little pause he wants and is about to say something but remembers his purpose and bites his tongue yes it worked no there's not a problem three two one has she become that predictable i trusted you why can't you do the same you don't understand try me cortana oh my god that whip around is such good direction and then letting cortana slip ah the moment gives me goosebumps he's gone dead you really gotta know what you're doing when you've got a mass protagonist so many games rely on amazing facial actors to get their emotional beats to hit but halo is never needed a nice little flip of the camera to tell us that everything just got turned upside down you know this story is a very simple one that boils down to stopping the banish to seeing a chief can learn to trust another cortana unit and forgive himself for not being able to save her scenes like this are a great way to show these two together because even though these are just dusts and echoes i like to see it as joseph staton giving us insight into what plagues chief's mind our time together is ending i await our final fight you know honestly estrogen feels like a dnd villain and i'm 100 okay with that you know cortana looked whack in five and thank god they fixed you here she still looks different enough but not scary liking five come up with a plan to stop her to survive one little line shows the grandeur of the threat cortana posed there was no fighting her traditionally look upon deutsche one last time continue with the operation you may far when ready what whatever happens save him so she's an exact copy by deleting yourself and saving chief it's in a way a redemption for cortana from five how can you trust me i don't but i want to if there was to be anything like a hog run it'd be this mission here but it kind of morphs into one of the biggest battle gauntlets and a halo game 343 spared no expense to have esparza and the most guarded fortress and the goal was to never have chief die before getting assigned so this last line of defense has already been cleared out naturally would anyone else want an updated version of this as a map for multiplayer or just me i miss you and i love you you know i'm very uncynical towards kids and i don't really want them but then i see something like this and i'm like god damn it why is the human condition wired to want that so freaking cute will be legendary the red powered energy sword and grav hammer are so dope and desperately need to be skins in multiplayer you showed him respect he was a monster yes but at the end he was just a soldier you'd done the right thing chief laying it on a little thick don't you think [Music] halo infinite story is cool and all but can i just use this video as a way to breathe life into the story we all want where's our arbiter chief buddy cop game that's all i want i like the idea that this monitor was just waiting for days on either side of the door just to jump scare specifically chief or better yet me he can't do it on his own he needs me he needs her oh so all along cortina was actually cortana's idea because chief would have never trusted her otherwise if you knew how you were going to die how would you live your life differently i was thinking all game the point of that question is kind of stupid because we all die eventually and the how does it really matter too much in my opinion but when it comes to someone like cortana an ai that basically can't die and one that is about to basically commit suicide it completely ups the question and we get to see the actual redemption of all time i say redemption but she's not completely redeeming my eyes because she brought so much pain upon the galaxy it was her she destroyed the ring stopped my deletion why because love makes you do crazy things she switched transmitters rerouting the power through that one this isn't good the connection is sentient god i love the extra percussion in this track before having the melody performance movement i'm they'll pair you with another ai maybe even another cortana model if halsey lets them and there it is look at us we just keep saying goodbye don't we oh my god that's actually really funny in every game these two have been split up by the end except for the first notice that you can see john through cortana but you can't see cortina i've always enjoyed holograms behaving like this with each other since they're the same tech you wouldn't see her through cortana was that you would help if i said yes probably it's so stupid but i love when they acknowledge that this man weighs a thousand pounds chief almost hugs him back he's getting there we finished the fight how all of us reacted when we heard him say it what about me what do i call you do you think it would be okay you're sure you get to choose your name that's so cute because i swear she's gonna choose cortana i think i might have the perfect one they could have cut the black there and it would have been perfect but all right here we go [Music] get ready but they bring us around with some hype music telling us to get ready the first one caps off the game well but the second one suggests that there's quite a few more stories to experience before it's over so i guess we can imagine the next story campaign is going to have atrialx leading an army of endless so after the reception of halo 4 and 5 i'm not surprised we got a strip backstory that focuses on chief and cortana only 343 desperately needed to win and all things considered i think they finally did it third time really is the charm i guess though the open world is pretty bland and copy paste and the story's simple and nothing groundbreaking infinite does the wonderful job of letting fans rejoice and get to say halo is back something fans haven't got to feel since reach i hope you all still enjoyed this video i know it wasn't as analytical as some of my other videos as everything this game has to offer is quite service level and i'm sure you don't need me to talk about it for us to garner greater understanding from it halo infinite is a wonderful return to form with a multiplayer to match it i think we can safely say now that the studio built for the sole purpose of making halo games has finally figured it out remember everyone drive the speed limit drink some water and love one another
