the film begins with a man named EP oi and his two sons who want to meet their teacher Professor Chun wasum at that time E oi and Professor Chan have been friends for a long time because the Wing Chun school was built on EP O's land not far from his house when Professor Chan wanted to pay rent for the land epoi said no instead he asked Professor Chan to teach his sons wingchun soon after EP oi introduced his two sons EP Mund and his adopted son Eep tinchi upon hearing that Professor Chan agreed to teach them both there he gave them a book that told them to be wise and keep Wing Chun real afterward e Bo said he had to go to Hong Kong for business and asked Tini to take care of his younger brother then he left them both next we see chumo making medicine for Professor Chan chuo always remind Rems his teacher to take his medicine one day Professor Chan and Chun so showed a fighting style while blindfolded then they started to fight at the end Professor Chan threw a strong punch that sent Chung so flying after that Professor Chan told his students that in Wing Chun it's important to focus on what you feel not what you see one night while sleeping EP Tini had a dream about his past Tini is Eep M's older adopted brother whom Eep boy found homeless in front of their house Tini actually comes from Japan during that time Japan forced children to become soldiers and sent them to China as spies and Tini was one of them back to the story when eat Mund realized Tini was having a nightmare he woke him up and suggested they look for food in the kitchen however they found nothing then one of their classmates mayw caught them instead of reporting them mayw shared her food with them and they became friends the next morning as usual shungo gave some medicine to teacher Chan after that teacher Chan praised Mund as a talented student there he expressed his wish for Chun so to take care of the school and the students after he's gone then suddenly teacher Chan collapsed and passed away long story short after the funeral shungo took on the responsibility of preserving the true essence of wingchun with all his d ation he became the new teacher at the school succeeding Chun wasum 9 years later in 1915 all the students including EP Mund Tini and mayw had grown up despite his friends taking a break from training EPM who had always been gifted continued practicing one evening during a Lantern Festival eatm and his friends Su son and yoy went to the festival at that time they split up in the crowd then at the festival eat Mund noticed a gramophone on display and approached it soon after he caught the eye of a lovely woman named Chun Wing sing and exchanged looks curious eat Mund accidentally scratched the black disc on the other hand Wing Shing realizing he couldn't fix it bought it without revealing her name and left eatm behind but turns out Wing Shing purposely did all those things because she liked eat Mund soon after during a performance at the festival troublemakers showed up there Wing Shan bravely confronted them but when one of the thugs was about to hit her eat Mund stepped in and stopped him he fought the Thug Boss and managed to knock him down with a powerful punch while eat Mund fought his friends were also in trouble seeing them overwhelmed eat Mund rushed to help when the thugs were about to use a knife Wing Shing intervened and hit the thug allowing EK Mund to disarm him then they all went their separate ways later in 1915 at a train station in Fen students from The Wing Chun school gathered Edmund was leaving with his father to study in Hong Kong before he left chungo advised him to keep practicing and remember His Wing Chun lessons as well as to stay true to its principles according to teacher Chan's advice then Edmund and his father departed from Fashion now eat Mund is a student at a school called Steven's College in Hong Kong he's learning many things there including English one day after playing hockey with his friends another student got upset and challenged eatm to a fight in that fight eat Mund won and his reputation as a skilled fighter spread the next day as eat Mund walked through the streets people greeted him warmly even though he didn't know them at that time he was looking for medicine for the student he defeated on the other hand the shop owner aware of the fight told eat Mund that his name and wings Chun skills were now famous the owner then asked eat Mund about wingchun and eat Mund explained that he learned the original Wing Chun from a great teacher named long Jun in fashen in the past long Jun taught Chan wa epm's first teacher who had passed away surprisingly the old man knew Chun wa soon and wanted to spar with EP Mund but EP Mund refused not wanting to hurt the man feeling insulted the old man attacked eat M and eat Mund fought back seriously there eat Mund noticed the old man's moves weren't true Wing chune as his teacher taught that Wing chune was about 70% hands and 30% feet shortly after the old man explained to eatm that although traditional Wing chune focuses on hand movements it doesn't mean Wing chune can't evolve he had added new moves to his wing chune like a powerful high kick that knocks down opponents effectively when eat Mund asked for the man's name he introduced himself as long beak also from Fashion eat Mund was surprised because he knew long Beek was the son of long jund The wingchun Grandmaster there long beak offered to teach e Mund wingchun the next day eat Mund began learning Wing chune from long beak under long Beek's guidance eat M's skills improved greatly long beaks Wing Chun had perfected movements including long range punches high kicks and elble strikes these additions made Wing chune more effective at various distances long beak believed there was no distinction between traditional and perfected wingchun meanwhile in fashen hinchi works at a Martial Arts Association called gin Wu The Association is led by Lee MHO who is also the adoptive father of mayw at that time teen Chi serves as his Deputy one evening the association held a meeting to discuss a doation from a Japanese businessman named Kitano chairman lie and Chum so decided not to accept the donation because they knew Japan was trying to control Chinese territory one of their tactics was to infiltrate large organizations in China turns out Kitano was involved in smuggling Japanese children to China to become spies as these children grew up Kitano would manipulate them to join influential organizations in China aiming to gain control teen was one because he felt eat Mund wasn't staying true to the authentic Wing Chun style later that evening while eating together chungo asked eatm whose Wing chune was more authentic whether it was Master CHS or long beaks there Edmund explained that long beaks Wing chune had perfected movement making it more effective against opponents after hearing eat's response chuno became angry he argued that long beak hadn't fully mastered all the Wing Chun techniques taught by long chun chun so believed long Beek's perfected Wing Chun was just his own version upon hearing that eat Mund disagreed thinking it was unlikely for long beak to perfect it without mastering all of Wing Chun this disagreement led to Chun so challenging e Mund and despite reluctance eat Mund fought his own teacher in truth if eat Mund had fought seriously he would have lost to chuno however out of respect for his teacher eatm chose to yield and let shuno throw him while bowing before his teacher altar eat Mund remembered long Beek's teachings long Beek emphasized that Chun won wasmund's true teacher and he should respect him long beak also explained that he left fion because his family couldn't accept his perfected Wing Chun techniques a few days later EP Mund and Wing Shing who hadn't seen each other for a while reunited at the cinema after the movie they spent time together strengthening their bond meanwhile in 1920 teen Chi and mayw got married on the morning of the wedding day Yumi kito's daughter approached teen Chi she handed him a package with orders to kill Lee mono at that time Kitano plan was to take control of the Jee moo Association in the evening the wedding celebration began with everyone including Lee MHO attending later when Lee Mund ho got very drunk eat Mund helped him home but as eat Mund was about to leave drunk lie challenged him to a fight after making sure lie fell asleep eat Mund left the next day Lee MHO was found dead chuno and epmt went to see him and noticed marks on Lee monto's neck they questioned Tini but he denied any involvement shortly after the police chief from fashen arrived to arrest eat Mund he believed e Mund was the killer based on a report from Lee's servant who saw them fighting that night however the true Mastermind behind everything was Kitano after Lee Mundo's death Tini became the chairman of the association this indirectly allowed Kitano to control the association as Tini had been working for Kitano several months later Mund was released from prison with the help of winging who admitted that Mund had been with her on the night of the incident eatm who had always loved Wing Shing promised to marry her meanwhile mayw opened a parcel she received from the Japanese inside she found a letter instructing Tini to kill Lee MHO she realized her husband had killed her adoptive father at night despite being pregnant mayw decided to enter her life but tinchi intervened and saved her disappointed mayw wanted to leave tinchi but he persuaded her to stay reminding her that she would soon be a mother at that time teen Chi decided to take mayw away from there but before they could leave Tini wanted to take the parcel with him unfortunately it had been opened and the warrant was missing mayw revealed that chuno had taken it there tein Chi realized chuno knew everything by now as they were about to leave Kitano and his men confronted them shortly after Kitano ordered Tini to kill his own teacher chungo because Cho now knew Tini had been working for Kitano when Kitano threatened mayw Tini reluctantly agreed to the order there kiano promised Tini Freedom after completing the mission meanwhile chono and two of his students went to the school to find teen they split up to search for him when the students found te Chi's friends held captive teen Chi disguised with a face covering attacked them at the same time chungo apologizing at his teacher's altar was attacked by Yumi and her somai Army Tini arrived and helped them fight back after the attack chuno managed to save his teachers name plate and reveal tin's face using the alter table chungo tried to escape the attackers eat Mund arrived and joined the fight helping chungo when the stick broke eat Mund used the remaining part as a double stick and continued fighting during the fight Yumi was accidentally killed then eat Mund and teen Chi began hand-to-hand combat at that time teen shei used Karat and Judo techniques instead of wingchun eventually eat Mund managed to immobilize tinchi and break his leg then Chun so asked Tini why he betrayed them Tini revealed he was actually a Japanese soldier named Tanaka akatsu and had to fulfill his missions as a soldier soon after chuo asked about May wi's whereabouts and Tini said she was held hostage by Kitano at a Doan fashion after knowing that Edmund immediately went there left alone Tini committed harakiri meanwhile at the dock while searching for Kitano eat M suddenly had flower thrown in his eyes blurring his vision at first he struggled to face Kitano but then he remembered his teacher's advice and managed to defeat him soon after he rescued mayw 14 years later in 1935 after his father's passing Mund lived in a grand house inherited he lived there with his wife wiing Shing and their son Eep Chun the film ends the moral lesson from this film is if someone throws flower in your eyes just pretend it's a baking mishap and keep fighting [Music]
