poker players to grace the belt this is the PokerStars and monte carlo casino EPT grand final last time we saw some of the old-school pros showing the young guns how it's done it's an old-school table guidelines with their old school now that old-school victor old-school freddy deeb include yourself Eni will seem throw Johnny Laden took a massive chip lead but finish the day losing a chunk of his stack to Canadian entrepreneur Andrew paddling with the competition fierce which of these 16 players has what it takes to make the final table so here we go the penultimate day of one of the biggest poker tournaments in the world they found some are negative you know lucky kids very good this is finally gonna be the one at least final table and the winds warm despite spending 37 years on the tour Johnny's only made one final table he's what we call do now I know I have a tendency to exaggerate but I don't think anyone could accuse me of hyperbole today when I say this is the best final 16 we have ever had in any EPT main event you could maybe accuse me of hyperbole when I say my head just exploded what I won't be surprised if it did because we have got Negreanu and deep going for the triple crown we've got two former champs going for that second win don't forget the team pros there's five of them with Victor randon looking to make his first EPT final table and two bridesmaids looking to catch that bouquet one thing is for sure we are guaranteed some awesome day five action Monte Carlo I would say bye father stopping until it's just an incredible arena it is the championship event for the entire a petite or 16 players left and look at these names amazing amazing players some of the world's greatest poker players competing for one of the most coveted titles and a check for more than 1.2 million euros this is poker at its purest all my opponents are very tough players I'm not going to underestimate them the grand finals brings the best out of me I play these tournaments because the competition is the best in the world that's the reason why I play poker I'd say that I've got my swagger back in a big way I mean I've just been focusing on fun and swagger and when I focus on having fun good things happen I don't care so much if it makes everybody uncomfortable cuz that's probably good for me anyway if I'm yapping away in your face and that Cody and Deeb and the tournament chip leader Andrew panting the other table is home to two guys who've been runners-up on the EPT John Shawanda and Steve O'Dwyer plus Laden and Murcia plenty of other familiar faces still in the tournament plenty of other interesting characters with the blinds currently 10,000 and 20,000 with a 3,000 ante action on Jake Cody pocket kings Jake's got fewer than 20 big so this is kind of a dream spot for him he's gonna want to generate some action I don't think he'd limp but I wouldn't expect him to shove out right either it's a min race from under the Gunn 40,000 ace-queen for freddy deeb Freddy flats could a three bet to get it in but probably doesn't want to it's so much action behind Daniel Negreanu and the small blind will call Victor and in it as well from the big blind Jake's looking real good against all this speculation even better now top set for Cody and top pair for Ramdin actions been checked too Jake now I'm usually an advocate of betting your sets but in this case he's so strong and has so few chips I think checking is fine he has checked that freddy deeb checks behind a four on the turns who paid now for Ramdan Cody's almost definitely gonna double through him now looks like Victor's betting he does 60,000 nine out of ten times Jake's shoving here and the other time he's moving all-in come on there's the shove that was the prospect of becoming the first two-time EPT champion [Music] I finished the stage the occasion is just incredible and this would be without doubt the greatest achievement in macro I actually try and detach motion when I play poker but at the same time obviously I'm really happy it's great to be deep in another huge tournament yet again it's great to do these interviews and which account words dominated he's got a massive stack and these two are apt to be raising and defending fairly wide so I could easily see a third bet go in that is a rear ace from paddling a free bet to 140,000 and I think paddling is looking to call in all-in if jake shoves although I do think this is a fine spot to play the hand in position those are not calling chips and not shoving chips either take for bets - leaderboard Steve O'Dwyer playing nearly 3.5 million well Johnny Laden has raised the cut off with Jack ten O'Dwyer has just flatted the button with ace king flop Queen ten seven all diamonds plenty on this flap to keep things sassy between these two Walden does not continue he checks to O'Dwyer Johnny's got the best ham but Steve's got what will often be the best hand and crazy good equity when it's not would want that's 65,000 and Johnny's got like a movie trailer a kind of hand it looks good but on this board it's a mediocre pair with a mediocre draw he calls the bat turn card the deuce of clubs changes nothing Johnny checks a second time Steve's able to keep firing semi bluffing at this board with impunity see that's 150 K Johnny might feel compelled to call simply because of Steve's huge stack but he's playing a brutal guessing game no matter what hits the river a more brutal guessing game than what number am I thinking of Walden calls the 150 584,000 in the middle and the deuce of diamonds on the river both players with a flush O'Dwyer's is better this could be a shame Moulton checks a third time how is it that Steve O'Dwyer walks around like this and somehow lichtenberger gets the nickname chewy O'Dwyer now betting for pure value 235,000 Laden quickly calls and the walky takes the millennium Laden on the value run 235 thousand parsecs that is gotta hurt Johnny Johnny grasp it at the time I was the youngest ever 23 years old and it was five years until I want another one so it was a very special moment for me that I look back on and think wow that's pretty crazy more eliminations and we have our final table steve-o to where a brave man going in for that handshake classy I'd say Joana looks shell-shocked but he kind of always looks like that Steve O'Dwyer is the new chip leader with more than 4.3 million back at the feature table it's sweat time Daniel Negreanu is the subject of the exercise we're only gonna see his whole cards whatever then I mean you know I tell myself joke sometimes but they're not appropriate for TV that makes me laugh make myself laugh buddy if it's the joke about six being afraid of 7 because 7 ate 9 it's fine we're on after shed the crown who has king/queen sure we want to raise this up yep sixty-four thousand to play Jake Cody on the button it's calling he could be pretty wide on the button freddy deeb folds the small blind Andrew panting in the big blind okay so what I've seen of Andrew pant links so far is that he squeezes a lot with anything decent he's just calling here so my guess is that his hand might be less than decent three way to the flop ace Jack hates hunt Ling checks we've only flopped a gut shot Negreanu does not continue he checks as well and believe it or not I'd actually like to see his cheque fold to a stack Jake sighs once we've checked that as a si bat would've been fine Jake is betting 92,000 panelings outs he had King three yeah now Daniel doesn't exactly check folding these spots but we're out of position we're doing terribly against an ace and our miracle card probably won't even get us paid and we have a tummy full of vegan food and could really use a bathroom break Sun is a queen Daniel now with second path and we probably shouldn't bet here it's really tough to get value if we're ahead Daniel's husband 204,000 and this is a half pot bluff actually looks like we're trying to get Jake off a medium a sore hand with reasonable equity so if and when Jake doesn't fold here I think we're ahead not very often at all Jake possibly slightly confused why Daniel wouldn't continue on the flop and then bet the turn not confused enough to fold counts out the coal and makes the call 800 19,000 in the middle the river is a blank and I think this blank is gonna make it tough for us to get Jake to fold anything he was calling with on the turn Daniel checks Jake checks behind clean Queen no good top half of Cody Jake was double gutted on the turn not much shot he was folding I think we could have lost more than again I think we could have also lost less every pot Daniel loses with that goes a little more of his mind oh this is so embarrassing unbelievable ridiculous dress code do you know what let's just go home it's get a taxi uh I spent all of our money trying to get into that Club you gave 300 euros to that doorman you know I give him five euros for Steve he's got excellent equity three ways and this could be a double elimination to get us down to the final ace I'm gonna die on this plane Johnny Laden somehow eats past the teams but again he's got a real shot at missing this final table Johnny needs to hit an ace or a queen first sound he's to hit an ace and a 5-4 there's a nine on the flop that pretty much seals the fate of Johnny Laden and vasiliy first hour it's over Johnny it's over Mercier off to share the good news we're done guests really vital table time did not know it not me O'Dwyer there's two people gone no really I mean unless they catch the runners love them so sick of bubbling final tables oh dude that is a runner the aces can make it straight now a thrill it is a shock no way jinx what happens alright never mind we have nine or ten who is nines against ace Queen ace five it came nine five deuce and then three four so the ACE both aces split Rob yeah oh cool still ten left oh wow awesome sorry I spoke too mathematical brain when I see 99% I see what's gonna win not that mathematical Jason O'Dwyer was only 98 percent I didn't expect that one normally I would sing this song but I don't think it's particularly appropriate on this occasion steve-o do i certainly not a fan of that Chuck part looking to make his fourth EPT final table he's been a runner-up once before on the tour and is looking to exorcise his demons here in Monaco being so close to C times previously really would like to close this one out and win this one so I can stop thinking about the ones that I missed out on and also how about because it's the Grand freakin final vastly first I'll still short King Queen in the small blind on these shops still not even ten B B's oh cool grant levy calls Levy's won a number of big tournaments in his home country of Australia including the first-ever appt grand final and he puts first out at risk hey siddhanam the standard shoves standard car wonderful except the ace of hearts
