I guess this is kind of the first airport that I've been to where I'm kind of like really wish I did have nice performance charge cuz this is a little [Music] tight all right we took offs is required make sure best power carp off doors and windows Clos locked all right we're all set traffic Pacer 7413 K taking offway 22 be departing to the Southwest racing all right let's [Music] go so we are out today and you'll notice that I'm all by myself today and there is a reason for that uh there's a bunch of really short or what I would consider short Fields just south of Madison that are part of the fly Wisconsin passport program one of the problems with these old airplanes is their uh books just really aren't that detailed uh so unfortunately you don't get a lot of um information when it comes to the performance charts and that so what I want to do today is just go out do some short Fields by myself I'm going to use use this for later when I um you know when the summer comes along and or there's some other short fields that we want to go to um to fill up our passport book so it should give me a pretty good idea of what I can do later on when we do some of these other uh airports that are further away from us uh cuz the last thing I want to do is get in somewhere and then not be able to get get out so our first airport is going to be big foot airport right on the border of Illinois Wisconsin welcome to Bigfoot Airfield a Hidden Gem in the heart of Wisconsin's beautiful wallworth County This Charming Airfield offers a unique blend of History adventure and Community for pilots and Aviation enthusiasts [Music] alike [Music] so one of my favorite things about this program is the Ingenuity of people and airports when they put these boxes and that together for their stamps I have to say this is one of the best ones here everything is Tethered in this together in this box the Stamper can't go anywhere the stamp can't go anywhere and it's got a perfect spot for you to stamp your book boom there we go wallworth Bigfoot Bigfoot is a total Grassroots Aviation Paradise with a beautiful well-maintained grass Runway as well as many vintage aircraft including this [Music] Cub [Applause] [Music] everybody want to wake up everybody want to show what they made of look at all us standing side by side giveing off that green light with a beautiful sight do not walk in our way though you cannot stop us know that's the way it goes shining brighter than the light of day it is absolutely gorgeous out today there's like no wind you got a trafficer 74 final Tre right on the on the approach here too low or too slow nestled amidst the Serene Landscapes of Wisconsin's Rock County lies our next stop Jana airport beauti the people shining Bri oh a [Music] Beau why you not Hear My Cries too many times we don't compromise yeah it's the only see eyes grab my hand yeah we're going to fly back a bird up into the sky what a beautiful side just like pick foot that was a really awesome airport uh the grass was so super smooth probably one of the smoothest grass air uh air strips I've ever been to Oh What a Beautiful the people with trees along the east side and a highway along the west side Verona is one of of the most challenging airports that I've been to so far on this journey the people shining bright oh a Beau all right so we made it to Verona airport and um I will say I was planning on landing on 22 um but it looks like the beginning end of 2 two is cut off or I'm sorry it's either 22 or 21 I forget it's kind of cut off at the approach end um it doesn't really start until like where uh 23 is at so I decided just to land 23 instead of uh 21 or 22 it really doesn't matter um the winds are pretty calm anyway um but what I am a little I wouldn't say concerned about but um if you're coming in here just make sure that you've done your performance charts because there literally is a 50ft obstacle at the end of either end of the runway there's a highway there and there's a big BM or a big hill that goes up to the highway and then there on the other side of the highway there are are um houses so just make sure you're going to be able to clear them so I'm hoping that I am there we go Verona on to the next one this is kind of the first airport that I've been to where I'm kind of like really wish I did have nice performance charts because this is a little [Music] tight [Music] [Applause] [Music] without hesitation our little Pacer cleared the obstacles with Runway to spare I was now headed to my final stop Albany airport located just 17 nautical miles south of Verona is just another example of some of the beautiful grass stps we have here in [Music] [Music] [Music] Wisconsin all right so we made it to Albany which is the last airport on our adventure today um wow been so much fun these little grass strips are super cool I think that I actually could have made all of them except for the last one um with Caitlyn the dog and some more fuel in um that was really tight I'm glad that I did that one on my own um because I'd be interested to see what the camera shows and how quickly we got off the ground and how much room uh we had but it sure didn't feel like much uh coming off that highway but you know it made it guess that's the good thing so the stamp that they have here was sitting in like a a glass case and it just is totally like melted so if anyone from fly Wisconsin is watching get these guys at Albany and new stamp so but one thing I always keep with me when doing this this is a stamp pad because you just never know when the stamp is going to be out of ink which this one here it is so going to put some ink on it and then we'll get our snamp all right so as terrible as it is don't do it anyway here we go just fried this thing so there's what it is we got it one of the best parts of Aviation is running into familiar faces at the most random of airports my buddy Jared and his son Nick were out collecting stamps as well how you doing man hey look what the Cat Dragged In meet again what the heck this is uh airport number four for me today nice me too yeah yep nice little uh approach Hi how are you good how are you good what's been your favorite one so far uh what was the favorite one Bigfoot Bigfoot was nice Bigfoot was really nice um what was the one with the uh a new hangers was that big foot oh yeah beautiful oh my God and the grass was so perfect I know it was like letting on a golf course yeah and they have the parallel taxi way on in the grass as well so all right so that's it for the day three nice little grass strips in the heart of Wisconsin kind of what I would consider Back Country here in Wisconsin everything's kind of flat we don't have mountains or valleys or anything really cool just everything is very flat so anyway from the flying Stampede I am Ed uh if you like our videos give us your stamp of approval hit that like And subscribe button and don't so that way you don't miss any of our other adventures and anyway hope to see you guys in the sky take [Music] [Music] care [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh m
