♪ It's a beautiful day ♪ ♪ Hey hey ♪ ♪ Won't you come out to play ♪ Good morning, everyone. Ashleee here, are you excited to walk through my morning routine? I'm so ready to show you guys all the secrets of how I start my day off right. Come on in. It's 6:30 in the morning, and I just like to wake up feeling fresh and fabulous, so I just woke up, and some people might be like, no you didn't, but I really literally just woke up like this, because I have a team get me ready while I'm sleeping. (soft music) I haven't seen myself without makeup on in six years. I don't know if I could handle it. Okay so Chab and I like to start off every day by meditating to affirmations that Chab recorded for us. Yeah, they're called Chabfirmations by Chab. Hey, Alexa, play Chabfirmations by Chab. Sorry, I don't know that one. Yes you do, Alexa. Play Chabfirmations by Chab. Hmm, I don't know that. No, yes, you do, Alexa. Play Chabfirmations by Chab. (soft music) Hey Chab, it's me, Chab. It's such an honor to be you, and I love you, Chab. I wish you could clone yourself, you know? Wish you could clone yourself five times. So I like to wake up my kids with their favorite candle, it helps them wake up like more slowly and like less grumpy. So my daughter Helvetica, her favorite candle is lavender and sea breeze candle from Jane.com. It take a little while. Oh, and she's also not here right now. I made her sleep in the car so we could use her room without distractions for this demonstration. I don't care for how she looks in the morning. I just like, like going the extra mile for my kids, you know? Like I love it when we have like a perfect day where everything goes right and I post about it on my blog and pretend like that's how it is all the time. Because like, I just think we need more examples of great moms online. There are just so many moms out there who are just trying their best, and I just want them to know it's never enough, and you can always do better. Hashtag mom hack. Dang it. Another really important part of waking up on the right side of the bed and really like going the extra mile for your family is picking out the right outfits for success and notice that I did say outfits, like I don't want to sound judgmental, but the only place where wearing one outfit a day is acceptable is prison. (soft music) I'm not asking a lot, it's just preworkout, workout, post workout/pre brunch, afternoon, and evening. And if it gets hard, just remember that each outfit you wear sends a message to your kids. Like taking care of yourself and dressing for success is not really for you, it's for your kids. Like I have way more kids than Nichelle, and I don't have a nanny. Yeah, and you're way hotter than her. Stop it. What? Anyway, like when we soundproofed our bedroom so that we could get nine hours of sleep now what is happening out there, that was for them, and our annual, month-long trip just the two of us to the Galapagos, that's also for them. That's for them, I don't even enjoy it. No. They need their space. They really do, and I feel like they grow so much during that time.
Oh yeah, the teachers say they're like, the way they progress during that month is like unbelievable. Yeah, in fact, I kind of think that we're holding them back. (laughing) Should probably cut that part ouy too. Well. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so I like to feed my kids breakfast at least three times a day, because nutrition is important. These breakfast burritos were actually the first recipe that went viral on my mommy blog when I got started back in the day. My blog was called Cereal-ously So Chic, it was about boutique breakfasts, and it started with this recipe. Every mom should be pouring her heart and soul into her kids' lunch boxes, that's why I've turned my juice boxes into these cute, little googly-eyed animals, and obvi, I don't give my kids juice, I drain these and refill them with kombucha. It's good for their social capital and for their gut health. And then we have our lunch bag. Fun story about these bags, I made them myself. First they started out as lunch bags, then I recycled them into cloth diapers, which I used on all my littles and then I re-recycled them into reusable, rewasahble lunch bags that are eco-friendly. Now some of you might be like, this is so overwhelming, I can't do that every day, and your kids might even be like, mom, spend time with me and not with my lunch box, but you've got to sacrifice for your kids. That's what the best moms do, and like all of the compliments from the teachers make it all worth it in the end. Especially the compliments from Miss Harper, because she is so cute and young, and she has like a pretty decent following right now, so. I'm off to work, babe. These pumice-lined loafers aren't gonna sell themselves. Slipper Rippers by Chab. (laughing) Good morning, Patrake. Here you go little man. You're supposed to smile, remember? When I hand it to you, you smile. Okay, let's try it again, buddy. Okay, Patrake. The least you can do is participate in a family laugh, all right? Yes, Patrake. Let's be a family.
One, two, three. (laughing) Patrake! Patrake. Babe. What? He wore the same outfit two months ago. No, no he-- Yes, he did remember? Okay, okay, Patrake, listen to me, okay? Today you stay in the shadows, all right? Today only, you can be forgettable, all right? But every other day the Durrants are hashtag unforgettable. But not today, okay? Hey, maybe we can make an emergency Gap run. Gap? Babe, desperate times call for desperate measures, okay? Okay. And this is desperate times. All right?
Okay, Chab. I don't want to look at it. I just don't want to see it. Get out of here. Have a good day, Patrake! Stay quiet. Here's your lunch, sweety. Thanks, Mommy. You're welcome. Elizabethany and I are matching today. We got twin ponchos from Jane.com. I was a little nervous that wearing the same outfit as my daughter would make me look, you know, big, but actually, we're wearing the same size. (laughing) Reagan's so funny. And that's my morning routine. Thank you so much for tuning in, but I'm afraid I need to go because I need to pick up a gluten-free, egg-free cake for Patrake's quarter birthday. It's gonna be a crazy ti-- Babe, I drove all the way to work and Helveitca was in the back seat. Is she supposed to be in school? I didn't know what to do, because it's Wednesday and that's the day I work, so you know, I just left her, I just told her to get out of the car and we'd figure it out. That must have been so hard for you. It was. Okay, so-- I gave her a phone. Oh, she's got the phone then she's fine. Let's just make it take your daughter to work day. Hashtag mom hack.
