today starts our month long adventure in  Vietnam where we explore both the bustling   cities and serene Countryside join us as  we take you through the Lively streets of   Hanoi introduce you to iconic Local Foods  and immerse you in the unique culture of   this vibrant City hey guys this is it today  is a travel day we are going to Hanoi Vietnam [Music] [Applause] [Music]   so when we arrived yesterday we got our SIM  cards from this company called vetel apparently   from what I saw on the internet they have the best  coverage across Vietnam so a SIM card cost around   $15 for 30 days then after that we went to take  some cash from the ATM but you got to look out   for some ATMs because some of them actually  charge up to 4% transaction fees but then we   found another ATM that only charges a dollar the  biggest note is 500,000 vietnames down so with   just two you can become a millionaire already so  anyway we caught a grab to our Airbnb and mbb is   actually located in the area called B in one  of the top three recommended places according   to blog that I read online so we checking out  the Airbnb then we realized our receptionist   is actually Russian because he suddenly start  speaking Russian and I was just shocked I was   looking at him and he was just putting like  Russian words into Google translate he was [Music] like so am it's in B and cost $21 per night so  I've got some footage here that shows you how   it looks like the room and the toilet and the  overall service it's really good there because   they have got everything you need and then  after that we actually went out for lunch so   for lunch we actually grabbed the signature F  we actually ordered the half cooked half well   done bowl and it only cost $2 and it was so  tasty as well it's probably one of the best   fls I've had so far and then yeah here we are  today with a full day of Adventure here in Hanoi [Music] so when it comes to the attractions  in Vietnam for one thing I noticed in Hanoi   especially is that most of the attractions  are actually in the center so that's why   now we're actually going to get a bike so  in Vietnam you can actually get a great   bike motorbike taxi to yeah whatever and  it's actually kind of affordable as well   so that's exactly what we're going to do  now to get our breakfast first bun me this   is the Vietnamese um protective helmet  yeah not different it's like a cap okay byebye yeah B me 25 can I wear the helmet okay  all right let's go so it's been a while since   I've done this again last time I did this was  in Thailand I think and it feels so good to   be on motorbike again it's just the fresh air  the breeze and later on maneuvering around the   traffic oh I missed [Music] this got a little  long so teams I bur out so [Music] speak thank you oh I missed that that was so good I  really missed it yeah feels good feels   good to be alive is you already 10 minutes  yeah my driver arrived late and he was a bit   confused but anyway we have arrived this  famous shop this place is called bamei   25 bamei is a very traditional type of Sandwich  here in in Vietnam basically it's like a French   baguette but shorter and also has it's like  a crusty bread roast so inside there be lots   of feeling and this is going to be alen's  first I'm trying it as well so turns out on   the other side of the road this is the main  restaurant and that's for take away options   so there's actually s options here just then we  end up ordering the first two one with barbecue   park with I'm not too sure what part it is  but we basically order the first two [Music] it's the best thing for me I'm not so much of  a bread person I would say I'm more of a rice   guy my mom literally calls me a rice bucket  when I was young so I think for me that one   was okay I would say what about you um I think  the bread is little bit hard to bite and yeah   I'm I'm okay with sandwiches too so I mean it  stays good but it's like yeah just normal normal   bread so right now we're actually in the area  of old quarters this place basically also has   another name called 36 streets and back in the  day because French once colonized Vietnam there   actually lots of French architectur still remain  up to this day so it's a mix of French Chinese and   also Vietnamese architectures still around this  area so this right here on the streets are called   cyclo which is a kind of like rck Shore kind of  thing that is very famous in Vietnam so so you   know RI showw usually in another country they the  driver will be in the front the passenger be the   back right but in Vietnam the rck show driver is  actually at the back riding a bicycle taking the   passenger around alen has been telling me that she  want one of these straw hat I think it's called   where will you put in your luggage huh no I won't  take it with me I just wanted like some took some   photo a I see I see I found it this is the C I  want but it's more like touristic here I want   a more local camp like traditional original and  another thing you notice here in Hanoi as well or   in general Vietnam is that there are many coffee  shops selling coffee beans as well Vietnam is   actually the second largest coffee producer in the  world after Brazil so that's why the coffee here   is something that you must try there's not really  a lot of roads here to walk especially the motor   bikes taunting you when you're in the way oh also  these bikes right here they actually ebikes this   company it's the first electric taxi in Vietnam  so they've got car and also motorbikes I think   Hanoi compared to other cities I have been to for  example like Bangkok or some other Asian countries   I actually feel like hanoy it's more chill chill  so yeah in general I think the traffic is more Cal   here driver is also relatively chill I would say  yeah it's just my experience you could argue this   is like one of the beest city but yeah it's for me  it's a very relaxing like they driving super slow   that's why it's feel more safe not dangerous look  at this they sell a really interesting t-shirt   like the green one that blue one it says I can  go green light yellow I can go red light I can   still go today I saw how when it's red and people  just like see if no one there they're like okay   they staring driving so they don't have I actually  like the shop they've got some really interesting t-shirts so in this area there are lots of hot  hotels as well and also I think in general in   this area the hotels are more expensive but  I think there are perks of staying in a quiet   neighborhood like bar in because in this area the  traffic is going to be the horning is going to be   so loud everywhere I'm really glad we chose our  area bin yeah I know bin it's like an area that   is next to H that's what I see a lot of people  saying there and there's another goo which is   more peaceful and quiet but if you're in central  like qu in then it's going to be really loud and   really noisy but you're close to all the tourist  attractions no it's like handycraft it's amazing   so it's green light anyway people are still  driving all right let's go go go go go go oh too   late it's red light now what yeah true red light  still can go see yep just got to be confidence confidence I think another thing I really  like about the streets of hoo is that you   see like excellent craftsmanships everywhere for  example like these paper cards how they F the   gy and then just like put in the cup like that and  also on the other side see this Man how he makes   some wood sticks here and yeah looks so beautiful  bamboo wow oh you made from Chopsticks oh show how   to this and I wow amazing yeah amazing yeah see  how he was just like you know so skilled it was   peeling the Chopsticks just then like that  of the knife work it's [Music] amazing good   morning and welcome to another day here in the  beautiful city of Hanoi Vietnam and today we're   visiting one of the most arguably most famous  attractions here in Hanoi which is the famous   train street so the reason why it got famous  is because of the close proximity of the Train   on the other side of the roads it's only like I  think I saw it was around 20 cm distance between   the train and the actual shops around and that's  why I got famous from here and you know when one   Cafe start opening here and then the others just  follow and suddenly becomes a tourist attraction   that is so famous that all tourist comes here  and just then when we're at the entry point   there there was actually a police stopping us  from entering unless there is a kind of like   a cafe invitation for you to sit in the cafe  otherwise you are not allowed to come in here [Music]   in terms of sitting there are two options one  you can sit on the side of train track which   is you know considered more dangerous so that's  here we are or another option is you can actually   head up to the balcony right there and look at  it from a safe distance so the reason why we   came at weekend in particular especially this  part of train track is because on weekend the   trains actually come more frequently whereas  if um during daytime I think it only comes   after 7:00 which by the time the scour will be  be dark so everything will be dark it won't be   too good for Instagram or videos that's why  we come during daytime early in the morning   let's take a look at the menu so the other day we  mentioned we on a mission to try the egg coffee   which looks something like that bit of fir at the  top um but yeah so that one it's $50,000 $2 which   yeah surprisingly at such a tourist location it's  kind of affordable as well which is great [Music] I feel like from this coffee you get more  energy from sugar from coffee yeah it's   extra sweet that's just to be honest that's  just the nature of vami coffee if you go to   you know any coffee shop usually they  put quite a bit of sugar in there and   especially there's condensed milk inside  too apparently and egg yolk I already feel   like this yeah it does give you a boost  of energy right away after drinking this I guess it means the train's coming [Music] where there is a policeman coming  get to patrol to make sure everything is [Music] safe ah so now he's kind of  evicting people who is not belong to a cafe   back to outside so they can't participate in  this my goodness there's the kind of anticipation   it's like you know when you go to a cinema and  before the movie starts there's kind of feeling   he just like you know waiting countown [Music]  [Applause] [Music] how do you feel I feel I feel   good actually but to be honest I thought I'll be  even closer to the train but the train was a lot   bigger than I expected that's why I occupied more  space of the track that's why it's what they say   closer to the restaurants but yeah it was really  an experience it's such a Vibe you know sitting   next to the train chair and there train just went  past you and you just just sipping coffee on the   side of road it's so cool and I kind of feel like  on sitting on this side of the road it's kind of   disadvantage just because you know uh the concave  it's kind of like this and this war is kind of   blocking the trains coming so we see on that side  it's actually better I also kind of want to take   a moment to appreciate the daily lives that's  still happening here so I think this is a bar   uh balcony but I think some of these are actually  still residential you can see they're hanging the   laundry outside at a balcony so there's still  people living on this street and of course the   houseone barel lots of workers still driving  past this narrow train [Music] track so as   you can see in the backdrop people are not  allowed to let in unless they actually stay   at a coffee shop or get invited by the cafe  owner to come stay with [Music] them what is   this train coming now oh oh inside inside oh  there's another train here it comes [Music] wow experience yow for lunch today we're going to try the new dish  bancha at this restaurant behind me it's called   ban. Kim and apparently they've got a melin  I didn't know this but I'm really Keen to   try this new dish here but two people with  upstairs have upstairs okay oh wow they've   got three floors in total they even higher it  seems like they've got another floor up there   too I think in Asia it's very common to share a  table with other people but I think in European   culture there's something that is not very used  to you usually have your own private table but I   grew up in Hong Kong so I'm very used to this  we want one of this one for one we huh one for   one we okay let's try this one first try so from  what I know bun is kind of like a fatty grilled   charcoal grilled thing together with the sticky  rice noodles and also there are some other pickled   veggies as well and this guys it's traditional  Vietnamese spring rad in here okay this here   okay and leaves here and this here uh soup soup  drink oh drink okay okay try the soup try the broth it's sweet it's sweet and  it has this meaty grilled taste   it's really tasty I agree that's why  I say it always tastes better than it looks and I think what's funny about just  then was there was also a spiral staircase   along different floors and then it was just  such a narrow space and the lady had to like   carry a tray walk up four floors and then it's  just a huge traffic jam near the staircase   just there it was so interesting but it's  definitely the kind of experience I want to   try here in Vietnam truth is traveling Han  under the hot and humid weather is Extreme   extremely tiring most of the time we had to  take short breaks in between the afternoon   before heading out again at night when  there's not enough roads you make your own Road guys this is it time to cross this Road  intersection the busiest one out of all this   is our today's challenge if we made it  alive then we'll go to the water puppet   show if not this is the end of the episode  let's go how is it even possible the cross here okay it looks like we're making out a live today wait wait whoa whoa whoa okay okay a thank  you g wait wait wait okay okay okay we're in the   middle at least we're halfway there looks like  we have 50% chance of going to see the water   puet show need 10 minutes to Crossing Road yep we  should take that into account when we plan ahead   now now our chance our chance oh my goodness  oh my goodness look what is this okay here's   our chance okay okay here we go here we go here we  go here we go wow wow wow wow here we go here we go Hallelujah we made it through we are live  we tonight we're going to see the water puppet   show let's go hanoy night life is so vibrant  and there's just a lot going on and things   could do including of course a tourist favorite  the water puppet show a Hanoi traditional   Puppeteer performance with Life music that tells  stories from VI's culture fairy tales and history [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so personally I feel like so far we've only  covered lot of daytime activities but actually   at night here in Hanoi the streets gets very  vibrant and Charming as well so that's why   tonight it's going to be a full on adventure  I want to show you guys well some things you   could do in hooi as well here in Vietnam  there's a huge beer drinking culture the   local calls it beer Hoy which means fresh  beer you'll be surprised to find a variety   of local Regional and import of beers being  offered especially because Vietnam is one of   the cheapest countries for beer that's why  we're going to check out a popular Junction   where locals hang out to enjoy this social drink  one thing I realized right away is that at night   usually Hano you can see on a after where they  set up like stew plastic stews hey how are you   and like people just like to sit out on public  Street like this while on motorcycles and car   just passing by hectically around but yeah  it's a very common thing 3,1 beer 3,000 one beer oh 35,000 3,000 30,000 local feia right very cheap okay I'll  walk around first but thank you actually want to   keep walking around just to get a better idea of  what other options there are but yeah you can see   the Night Live Here really comes alive at night  yeah but it smells really good every corner here   the food smell oh gets me really hungry now to  eat yeah yeah let's find a r let's find Place one   thing I can tell you for sure is that vietnames  people they love drinking beer and according to   research Vietnam is actually around like rank  seven in terms of like highest consumption of   alcohol in the world it even decorated a car with  with you know beer but today my goal is definitely   try a local viam beer it's my goal today so so  we've been walking around trying to find a good   restaurant just because I feel like if we want  to try local beer it has to be somewhat authentic   right and and for me personally sitting on one of  these St chair or like plastic chair it's the most   authentic way of experiencing this you know you  know you know what they said they said oh you're   going to come back and we actually come back yeah  really yeah do or two please oh my [Laughter] goodness what's going 5 minutes 5 minutes 5 minutes 5 minutes okay   do you want to try the light  beer yeah light I like light lemon no no lemon Lon I want to try Han exuse me okay I'll have a look I'm so confused what  just happened me too they're just trying to   sell like every every girl different beer I feel  like just then was a bunch of bunch of bees like   coming to here and trying to S order oh wow so  fast thank you thank you wow so see the reason   why I choose this beer is because it's called  Hanoi beer and I feel like it's only in Hanoi so Che I feel this WIP like CL WIP so nice in  this hot weather you drink iceo beer it's   really refreshing so according to what  I saw in the internet Vietnam Le be is   one of the cheapest in the whole world so  just say when we saw a price it was around   30,000 to 45,000 for a bottle of beer which  is like basically less than around a doar   to $2 and as you see this is such a popular  place amongst locals and also tourists it's   where everyone hangs out usually we're drinking  wine but this time we're drinking beer [Music] what did you say I said usually I don't like beer  why because wine is better Alina is cultured now   yeah this is our dinner so this is going to be  like an Entre appetiser for us before we head   to another place for dinner but this going to be  Alena's first time trying snail I'm so worried   I'm so worried I never tried snail so this is not  French people snail but this is actually SE snail   personally I grew up eating this so I have no  fear about it usually we dip in sesame oil puff   soil sauce so we mix it together but this looks  like to be just plain like that or maybe dip into   this sauce God oh my God oh my God oh my God my  God okay it's hot it's hot at least it's hot at   least I know it's hot hot hot oh hot hot I never I  never could distinguish between alen said Hot and   Hot she said exactly the same hot hot hot hot then  you say hot Hot and Hot okay okay hot like this   you you put and then you okay [Music] sa Ginger oh  good tasty 18 so poor snail so poor I'm so sorry [Music] [Music] I it tastes like like me like clams yeah  yeah so it tastes the same basically I mean it   is a seafood it's not like the ones you C on the  street really it's from the sea it's called sea   snail so basically they're similar to yeah they  SE SE snail you like it yeah it's good not bad   good now we leaving a beer corner but the night is  still young you can see a lot of people are time   to come to the Beer corner now but we've got other  plans because today now we actually heading to   our next destination which is Hanoi weekend night  market which is only operating during the weekends   personally guys if you've seen me you Vlog in  Thailand before I just love night markets so so   so so I know I know I know I love night markets  like the street food and like whatever oh around   the bed we've got the spiral chips right there  hello got some uh uh oh what is this it's like   chili pineapple wait what the chili interesting  maybe it's pickled I found in vietnames they like   pickled stuff a lot got SI just skewers in general  baby baby I saw something cool what I realized   this is ice cream see it says ice cream here see  how it possible it looks like ice oh maybe inside   ice cream outside there some balls I think so man  it put sauce on top like it's but yeah you can see   nitrogen going there so here in this night market  you can find all kinds of different products like   from you know handycrafts different toys even  clothing speaker phones just a lot of other   things like basically what a nightm you would  expect plus a lot of Hanoi features in it of course attract you mhm when it comes to  food I can smell it from 1 kilm away oh   wow this so cool what is this interesting  this is a handmade what is this uh this is   mini bowling mini bowling yeah you  can try you like this yeah you can buy very good waa okay that's really  cool I'll fix it 1 hour later can you   design magnetic so it's easier you uh  you build uh the inside go the outside   ah I have small brain he has big brain  that's the difference if it's magnetic   then you cannot broken it with this ball it  can be like subtle magnetic I sure the bow   would just stuck there you control right here  ah let's play a game let's play a game you and me okay if you win me I can  discover you if you if you you must buy thank you though I'm going  to run away try this cookie you   want to try this cookie you want  to try yeah looks good actually howo one okay one please yeah I know  it's a Korean um Korean we canide cheese   a small PL very good is it tomon  delicious how do we say delicious   ton tamon ton like tasty tasty  say delicious in Vietnamese Viet ton oh this the name of the the  thing together Oh I thought you   mean this no no no new big fite  new big fite new big fite like um like like where is Che inside you're not piing a   AR inside that's why oh there you go  there you go the cheesy Stuff the AR   give me more you Soo little more paper I  don't eat paper here hot okay Hot and Hot [Music] it still look a snack now one of my snack okay no no no there there [Music] here how old are you how old  are you two + 5 2 + 5 this my girlfriend guys so so good how old are you h 2 plus five also another  thing I noticed here in Vietnam is that people   like smoking bong a lot like literally on the  street every day I see a lot of people just   smoking look at this massive octopus skewer  oh my goodness that looks so good you know   what alen told me last time Alena said if we  saw scorpion somewhere she's going to try it   yeah I won I could never in a millionaire  millionaire not millionaire millionaire I   want to be millionaire but million years e  scopion never impossible why people eating   I want to try to uh but I mean I guess if  you think about it it's kind of like soft   sh crap in a way yeah it's like a crab exactly  W crab not scorpion them I mean you talk about   crap and Scorpion it's very different this  actually really cool they selling little   helmet it's so cute now this is like proper  protective helmet not the ones they use in Vietnam he likes it too yeah yeah yes wearing  helmet from young age is good I find the keyrings   and magnet in sers here in Vietnam it's like  more unique than other country outside even   the t-shirts they like put thoughts into  it about the meaning of the T-shirt yeah   even see cyter C so cute o o wow wow pretty  ah see there you go you've been talking about   camera right yeah we need the camera yeah  does it work no way no way wow that's cool amazing not going to lie if you been you  watching this video your your toys and svir   are on another level look guys I can't afford a  real Cannon I can afford this one it's not better   yeah so going forward we're going to use this for  vlogging I think yep okay guys new Vlogs for this camera hey guys J Elina here how's it going  yeah in this episode we're going to explore   Hanoi week weekend night market the sacrifice we  have to make as full-time creators yeah usually   when we go travel usually we we're not we can't  really buy a lot of s in years or like stuff   just because there's nowhere to put it when we  full-time travel every time when we bought we   actually live in Australia yeah yeah every time  when Alina brings something in Australia she's   going to leave like the toys the sers whatever  into my cabinet there no space and this so years   is heavy yeah it's extra extra space in our  luggage so we need to pay more that is true   in a flight when that is true speaking of luggage  allowance just thinking about it if you say like   if you don't bring any clothes to Vietnam and  you just buy in nightm Market it's probably   cheaper than your paper luggage oh even cheaper  Buy in shoppy big brain is that a real puppy what   the hell wait is that real it is real oh my  goodness why is it lying in the middle of the socks so cute you so cute I want a  p p is my dream how much is this how much a it's just so adorable see overall  the just a lot to see Rose after Rose   after Rose and I just love the diversity  of things they set at this night market   everything just seems so interesting  here looks like there's hist stream [Music] performance so after night Mar we still feel  like we want a bit of dessert especially me   because I want something sweet after the Savory  meal just then so we came across this place got   miny apparently it's famous to caramel pudding  so we're going to check it out now [Music] how's it so good so good so good wow that is insanely good so tasty so with  the 30 cents pudding just then it wraps up video   so thanks for watching this episode see you  next time and don't forget to put comment like   And subscribe this channel if you're still not  subscribing and we love you guys goodbye
